As Lin Xingchen nearly tumbled down a slope, Zhang Haotian quickly rushed forward and pulled her back to safety. He then confronted Lu Yibai, who had stood frozen, expressing his strong displeasure. Lu Yibai simply offered a brief apology before turning and walking away. Lin Xingchen, trying to make sense of Lu Yibai's inaction, suggested he might have been stunned. Annoyed, Zhang Haotian pulled Lin Xingchen by the hand, insisting they leave.
Upon reaching the designated camping spot, everyone busied themselves setting up tents. Luo Qinge sprayed mosquito repellent, sharing some with Lin Xingchen, who had forgotten her own. As they settled in, Luo Qinge teased Lin Xingchen about arriving with Zhang Haotian and pointed out that Lu Yibai's face looked "green with jealousy." Lin Xingchen dismissed the comment, explaining it was a chance encounter, and headed off to a river to wash vegetables, still pondering Lu Yibai's strange behavior earlier.
When Lin Xingchen didn't return for a while, Luo Qinge voiced concerns to Teacher Yang, jokingly suggesting that there might be wild wolves in the mountains, a remark Chen Yimu corroborated. Hearing this, Teacher Yang asked Lu Yibai to go check on her. Lu Yibai found Lin Xingchen lying on the ground, having fallen asleep while sunbathing.
He gently woke her up and apologized again for failing to catch her earlier, but Lin Xingchen reassured him that she wasn't bothered and instead inquired if he was alright. Lu Yibai affirmed he was fine. Meanwhile, back at the camp, Luo Qinge accidentally cut her hand while chopping meat. Chen Yimu quickly rushed to her aid, bandaging her hand skillfully before taking over the chopping.
He proudly declared his culinary abilities, having been the cook at home, and was praised by their classmates. However, Luo Qinge insisted they were just "buddies who grew up fighting" and "mortal enemies." Lu Yibai then led Lin Xingchen to a small river, demonstrating how to find water sources by observing plant roots and listening for running water, though Lin Xingchen humorously pointed out a signpost indicating the river's location.
As they washed vegetables, Lin Xingchen, in her haste to retrieve a dropped lettuce, slipped, twisted her ankle, and got soaked. Lu Yibai sternly scolded her for her carelessness, emphasizing the potential danger and the impact on her family. After she apologized, he immediately offered her his jacket to prevent her from catching a cold.
He continued to playfully scold her for her string of mishaps while carrying her on his back to the campsite, where Teacher Yang instructed Luo Qinge to look after her. Luo Qinge couldn't help but jokingly ask if Lin Xingchen was using a "sympathy card" to get attention.
Back at camp, Lu Yibai handed Lin Xingchen a cup of herbal tea, Banlangen, explaining it was to prevent a cold due to her wet clothes, rather than the cola everyone else was drinking. Chen Yimu took charge of the barbecue, expertly grilling skewers and earning compliments from Teacher Yang.
The teacher remarked that if Chen Yimu applied half his intelligence to his studies, he would excel, to which Chen Yimu humorously replied he might just open a barbecue stand if he didn't get into college. Later, everyone gathered for a lively group photo. Following the meal, some students went to the nearby swimming pool. Chen Yimu, a strong swimmer, offered to teach Lin Xue to swim, which made Luo Qinge feel a sudden pang of jealousy.
Lu Yibai and Lin Xingchen, however, stayed on a bench nearby, as Lin Xingchen couldn't swim and was still recovering from her ankle sprain. Lin Xingchen then invited Zhang Haotian to join them, and he agreed. As they walked, their flashlights died. After rejoining the group at the observation point, Chen Yimu began telling a spooky ghost story, frightening Lin Xingchen. Lu Yibai, noticing her fear, subtly reached back and held her hand, comforting her.
As they observed the stars, Lin Xingchen reflected on how small and forgotten each star seemed in the vast universe, likening them to humans. Lu Yibai countered that every existence holds meaning as long as someone remembers and cares. When Lin Xingchen asked if he had someone he cared about, he pointed to the sky, then subtly at her, indicating his unspoken affection. Just then, a meteor shower streaked across the sky, and everyone eagerly made wishes.
Lin Xingchen secretly wished for the happiness of both those she loved and those who loved her. Later that night, back at the camp, Lin Xingchen watched an open-air movie. Lu Yibai joined her, bringing her water, and their hands brushed as he offered it, creating a sweet moment of unspoken understanding between them.
