After Wange completed the stock transfer with Mr. Jackson, she inquired about the truth behind her mother's imprisonment. Mr. Jackson revealed that despite years of their own investigations, the case remained unsolved. He could only confirm that Shen Lingzhu was merely a pawn, and someone else was truly responsible for Wange's mother's demise. Meanwhile, in another location, a subordinate reported to their boss that the target had been apprehended, and the boss ordered them to "Leave no trace behind."

However, the kidnappers soon realized they had seized Feng Muchen, who had been impersonating Mr. Jackson. Recognizing their mistake, they hastily threw him out. Feng Muchen then found himself inexplicably trapped within the novel world, unable to escape. He realized that his unauthorized modifications to the plot had caused a system rejection, leaving his consciousness sealed in this space. He recalled a critical warning: any discomfort in his body required immediate offline action, lest his consciousness be permanently confined.

Within the novel world, Wange was guided to a blind date where Chen Ye initiated a conversation with her. Observing them from the world of telencephalon, Feng Muchen grew jealous of their intimate interaction. He attempted to delete the scene the author had written, but the system's "rewind" function kept restoring it. He struggled to manipulate the narrative, repeatedly trying to erase or paste elements, but the author continuously introduced new characters or reverted his changes.

He understood he had to act faster than the author. Later, at an event, Wanqing twisted her ankle. Chen Ye rushed to assist her, but their interaction sparked malicious gossip among the crowd. They mocked Wanqing, labeling her the mistress's daughter, referencing her mother's affair and expulsion from the Ye family, and accusing Wanqing of faking her injury to seduce Chen Ye for financial gain.

Wange fiercely defended her sister, asserting that the Ye family's affairs were not their concern and that bullying Wanqing was akin to bullying her, vowing to confront each of them. Chen Ye also intervened, warning the gossips to leave his venue and reassuring Wanqing not to heed their words, as he knew her better than their judgments suggested. Feng Muchen then discovered that when his edits aligned with the author's narrative, the system allowed them.

He realized the author intended Wange to be a catalyst for the main characters' romance, and with this understanding, his mental state stabilized, and a new gateway appeared before him. Observing Wanqing's low spirits, Chen Ye took her to a secret hideout. Wanqing was surprised he knew the place and reflected on her life, feeling that despite all her efforts, she had lost everything, including her mother.

Chen Ye gently reminded her of a childhood encounter where he had found a lost little girl and given her a bird whistle. Wanqing then recognized him as the "big brother" from her past. Chen Ye told her that now they were adults, they no longer needed to search for their parents, and he would accompany her wherever she wished to go.

Meanwhile, Wange grew furious because Feng Muchen had not returned home all night and was not answering his phone. She initially suspected him of misbehaving but then grew worried about his safety. She checked the home surveillance footage, which revealed Feng Muchen being abducted by two women. It turned out his prodigal uncle, Feng Fugui, was deeply in debt, and these women were forcing Feng Muchen to repay it.

Feng Muchen managed to make a video call to Wange, claiming he was with his uncle. However, Wange saw two beautiful women next to him and challenged his lie. Feng Fugui then took the phone, addressed Wange as "niece-in-law," and instructed her to bring five million yuan to Yuewan Karaoke, threatening her against contacting the police.

Yun Yi explained that Feng Fugui was Feng Muchen's reckless uncle, notorious for his vices, who had been extorting a million yuan monthly from Feng Muchen since he became chairman. Wange was aghast at Feng Muchen's vulnerability. Yun Yi theorized that Feng Muchen's current financial struggles might have led Feng Fugui to hire the women to kidnap him. Realizing Feng Muchen was unaware of his uncle's full scheme, Wange rushed to his rescue.

Wange arrived at Yuewan Karaoke, not with money, but with a pair of scissors. She loudly declared that the Feng family were freeloaders, provoking the two women into beating Feng Fugui in a fit of rage. Amidst the chaos, Wange seized the opportunity and pulled Feng Muchen away. As they fled, Wange, out of breath, demanded to know where he had been last night and if he was unwell from running.

Feng Muchen insisted he was fine and just needed rest. However, before he could say more, his headache flared up again, and he suddenly collapsed. Wange frantically urged Ning Yuan to call an ambulance, begging Feng Muchen not to scare her. Before she could even dial, an ambulance mysteriously appeared, leaving a bewildered Wange behind as it took Feng Muchen away.
