Ning Fei lay injured on the slope, his leg badly hurt, as Zhou Shi tended to him. He recounted that the person who had lured him there was not Wei Qing, his senior, because the individual had covered their face and fled as soon as he fell. Zhou Shi speculated whether He Wei was involved, noting his persistent animosity towards Wei Qing.

Ning Fei revealed that He Yun had told him Wei Qing was responsible for his uncle's death, though he himself was unclear on the specifics. Overcome by his pain and guilt, Ning Fei confessed his long-held desire to apologize to Wei Qing. He explained that after his uncle took him in, he feared being cast out due to Wei Qing's presence.

To secure his place, he admitted to deliberately acting out, hoping to make his uncle and aunt dislike Wei Qing. However, as they grew fonder of him, Wei Qing became increasingly rebellious. Ning Fei longed to apologize but was terrified of being expelled if he revealed the truth, never imagining his uncle would die. He expressed deep remorse, claiming it was an unintentional consequence.

Soon after, Ning Fei fainted from a combination of blood loss and overwhelming grief, leaving Zhou Shi desperately calling for help. Meanwhile, Wei Qing and Fei Fei discovered Zhou Shi's room card, which guided their search for her. Separately, Li Ming Cheng and Bi Qiu Jing called out Zhou Shi's name as they searched in a different direction. Zhang Shuai, hearing them, confronted Zhang Ran Yu, accusing her of involving Zhou Shi in their scheme.

Zhang Ran Yu retorted that Zhou Shi had been constantly with Wei Qing, even sleeping in his room, which had enraged her and led her to reveal Ning Fei's plight. Furious, Zhang Shuai rushed to join Li Ming Cheng and Bi Qiu Jing. He also sent Fei Fei a text with their location. Wei Qing and Fei Fei soon found Zhou Shi and the unconscious Ning Fei.

Fei Fei insisted on carrying Ning Fei, confidently stating her strength, while Wei Qing carried Zhou Shi. Zhou Shi recounted Ning Fei's earlier apologies, mentioning his remorse for "taking" Wei Qing's parents and his references to Wei Qing's father's death. She advised Wei Qing to speak with Ning Fei upon his recovery, speculating that Wei Qing's own illness might be connected to his father's passing.

As Li Ming Cheng, Bi Qiu Jing, and Zhang Shuai arrived, the group immediately transported Ning Fei and Zhou Shi to the hospital. At the hospital, Bi Qiu Jing revealed to Fei Fei and Zhou Shi that she and Li Ming Cheng were officially a couple and that he had proposed to her, which she accepted. Both Fei Fei and Zhou Shi happily congratulated her. Shortly after, He Yun arrived, deeply concerned by Ning Fei's severe injury.

She began to scold Wei Qing, but Zhou Shi quickly stepped in, falsely claiming responsibility for Ning Fei's fall, stating she had asked him to accompany her up a slippery path. This prevented He Yun from openly blaming Wei Qing. Seizing the opportunity, Wei Qing asked to speak with his mother privately about his father's death, expressing a persistent feeling of being connected to it despite his lack of memory.

He Yun confessed her own torment, constantly seeing visions of his father covered in blood, a sight Wei Qing confirmed he also experienced in his dreams. She admitted her deep-seated hatred for Wei Qing, believing he had "taken" her husband from her even before his death. She explained that his father, suffering from cancer, had refused treatment and insisted on traveling to America to see Wei Qing, who wouldn't return home.

He Yun felt her husband chose Wei Qing over her in his final moments, leaving her behind. This intensified her resentment when Wei Qing also inherited Yun Ma, leading her to oppose him constantly as a way to "prove" to her late husband that she was his only true choice. Overcome with regret, He Yun lamented treating her husband and son as enemies, only to lose both.

Noticing the red rash on Wei Qing's hand, she realized his suffering, a stark contrast to her previous assumption that he was living a decadent life. She encouraged him to uncover the truth about his father's death and asked for his forgiveness for her irrational actions over the years. Mother and son finally reconciled, sharing a tearful embrace. As He Yun departed, Wei Qing wept, and Zhou Shi tenderly held him.

Inside the room, Ning Fei awakened and thanked Fei Fei for her care. Overcome with emotion, he pulled her into a passionate kiss. Witnessing this, Wei Qing turned to Zhou Shi and shared an equally intimate moment. Zhou Shi later playfully remarked that everyone else found love on their vacation, while she only caught a cold, to which Wei Qing teased her about their own developing relationship.

The next day, Zhang Shuai intercepted Zhou Shi to apologize, explaining that he had acted as he did to make her dislike Wei Qing, as he wrongly believed Wei Qing had an infectious disease. Zhou Shi clarified that Wei Qing was indeed sick but not with an infectious illness, and she told Zhang Shuai that Ning Fei had already forgiven him. When Wei Qing arrived, he told Zhang Shuai to stop interfering.

Undeterred, Zhang Shuai produced a photo of Zhou Xin Yao, accusing Wei Qing of stealing his first love, heartlessly abandoning her, and driving her to suicide. Initially dismissive, Wei Qing decided to explain the situation when he saw Zhou Shi's curiosity. He stated that he had only met Zhou Xin Yao once at a Yun Ma event. After the event, she had approached him, offering a room card.

Upon his refusal, she claimed to have a sick brother, an art student, who desperately needed money for medical treatment, which was why she resorted to such desperate measures. Wei Qing noted that the photo Zhou Xin Yao showed him then was identical to the one Zhang Shuai now held, implying Zhang Shuai might be the "sick brother."

He gave her a sum of money, but she returned soon after, asserting that her boyfriend had left her because of Wei Qing and threatening suicide if he didn't enter a relationship with her. Wei Qing recounted the significant effort it took to disengage from her. As Zhang Shuai vehemently rejected Wei Qing's account, Wei Qing suggested he consult Zhang Ran Yu, as they shared the same social circle and should be aware of the full story.

Seeking to uncover the truth about his father's death, Wei Qing underwent hypnosis with Dr. Chen. Dr. Chen warned him that this memory was sealed due to extreme pain, but Wei Qing insisted he was ready. Under hypnosis, Wei Qing's deeply buried memories from eighteen years ago resurfaced. He recalled his father visiting him in America, sternly reprimanding him for his rebellious behavior and lack of academic focus.

A heated argument ensued, after which Wei Qing defiantly retired to his room. Later that night, he heard commotion outside his door but found it inexplicably jammed. Desperate, he escaped through the window. He discovered a trail of blood leading from the living room upstairs. By the time he reached his father, he was already dead. The memory of the sealed door and his inability to help haunted him.

Awakening from the hypnosis, Wei Qing was overcome with anguish, sobbing and blaming himself for his father's demise, believing his mother's accusation that he caused it. Zhou Shi shared the details of Wei Qing's recently recovered memory with their roommates. Dr. Chen suggested that Wei Qing's allergies stemmed from his deep-seated guilt over his father's death, and that resolving this emotional block was crucial for his recovery.

Bi Qiu Jing pointed out a strange detail: if Wei Qing had indeed locked his door, then even after he unlocked it, it shouldn't have remained jammed. This implied someone outside must have physically blocked the door, preventing him from exiting. Ning Fei, feeling a need to clear the air, went to speak with Wei Qing. He reassured Wei Qing that despite his past feelings, he now understood that his uncle and aunt never truly "left" Wei Qing for him.

Ning Fei confirmed that Wei Qing's father, knowing he was terminally ill, went to America primarily to see Wei Qing one last time. He explained that Wei Qing's father's strictness was a way of nurturing him and that he would not have blamed Wei Qing for not saving him, but rather would have been relieved that Wei Qing himself was safe. Ning Fei urged Wei Qing not to shoulder the guilt.

Zhou Shi, also present, supported this, suggesting that the person who blocked the door was likely Wei Qing's own father, trying to protect him. She advised Wei Qing to seek the truth by reviewing the police records from that time. Ning Fei then sincerely apologized to Wei Qing for his past childhood misdeeds, finally mending their fraternal bond. Wei Qing then shared a letter his father, Wei Heng, had left for him.

The letter revealed Wei Heng's deep love and his regret for his harsh parenting, especially after Ning Fei joined their family, which made Wei Qing resistant to taking over Yun Ma. Wei Heng confessed his initial desire to mold Wei Qing into a great artist but eventually realized Wei Qing enjoyed art but disliked the act of painting itself. He wished he had released Wei Qing from this burden earlier, hoping Wei Qing would hate him less.

Wei Heng lamented that his realization came too late, leading Wei Qing to seek solitude in America rather than staying with his parents. He acknowledged that Yun Ma, a culmination of his and Wei Qing's mother's efforts, was poorly managed and barely sustained by old friends. However, he also knew of Wei Qing's secret collaborations with galleries, helping classmates sell their art, recognizing Wei Qing's innate business acumen that he himself lacked.

He expressed his belief that Wei Qing could expand Yun Ma significantly. If Wei Qing couldn't be a great artist, Wei Heng implored him to become an outstanding businessman and safeguard Yun Ma, which would allow him to "leave peacefully." The letter concluded with a plea not to show it to his mother, as it would cause her distress, and was signed, "The father that loved you but couldn't tell you, Wei Heng."

Reading the letter, Wei Qing was overcome with sorrow, lamenting that he never had the chance to give his father that last hug, believing it to be his father's greatest regret. He broke down, missing his father immensely.
