Zhou Shi was surprised to see Wei Qing’s ear turn red after his interaction with Xue Zi. As she tried to take a closer look, Wei Qing stopped her. Learning that she was there to resign from the art gallery, he instructed her to report for work at Yun Ma the following day. At the convenience store, He Wei paid for Lin Feifei’s items and offered to drive her home. Noticing Ning Fei’s displeased gaze, He Wei discreetly excused himself.
Feifei chastised Ning Fei for ruining her plans, but Ning Fei insisted that He Wei, who is their landlady He Yun's younger brother, was not a good person. Frustrated by his claims, Feifei stormed off. Meanwhile, He Wei, observing Feifei's connections with both Wei Qing and Ning Fei, decided to continue pursuing her, curious to uncover what made her so captivating.
Later, after Lin Feifei relayed Ning Fei’s negative comments about He Wei, Zhou Shi also warned her that He Wei was a known playboy who changed girlfriends frequently. Feifei retorted that Wei Qing was similar, but Zhou Shi defended Wei Qing, stating he had always been respectful towards her and that their drunken encounter was an isolated incident. She added that her heart belonged to Li Ming Cheng.
Feifei, however, sensed a subtle connection between Bi Qiu Jing and Li Ming Cheng. Zhou Shi dismissed the idea, believing they were simply academic equals "caring for each other" and knowing that Bi Qiu Jing was a "black hole in relationships" with no interest in dating. Ning Fei was focused on a design for galaxy-themed jewelry.
He recalled Wei Qing's past instructions to create a design that would impress Xue Zi, warning that if he failed, many art galleries would be forced to close. Wei Qing had given him half a month to help protect his father's legacy. While observing Ning Fei's artwork, Zhou Shi was surprised to find the character “Ran” hidden within it, a secret she had learned about from Xue Zi. Her true ambition was Wei Qing, whom she considered "the main course," and her purpose in joining Yun Ma was to create opportunities to get closer to him. Afterwards, Zhang Ran Yu attempted to meet Wei Qing at the chairman’s office but was stopped by Assistant An.
Wei Qing appeared at the reception desk, instructing Zhou Shi that she must address him as "Chairman" at the company. He then ordered her to summon Li Ming Cheng. When Zhou Shi questioned the order, Wei Qing reprimanded her, emphasizing that as an employee, she must execute instructions without asking questions. Zhou Shi obediently went to call Li Ming Cheng, and Wei Qing watched her leave, struggling to suppress a smile.
Wei Qing informed Li Ming Cheng that his analysis regarding the internal issues at Yun Ma Artwork was spot on. He explained that the situation was complex and required a thorough investigation. However, he warned that the person leading the investigation would likely face threats and ostracism, and in a desperate situation, might even need to be "sacrificed." He needed someone he trusted implicitly for the task, and Li Ming Cheng willingly accepted.
While eavesdropping outside the door, Zhou Shi was caught by Wei Qing, who then reassigned her from the investment department reception to his own office. At a photoshoot, He Wei's deliberate intimacy with Lin Feifei led to her being ostracized by a fellow model, who accused the part-timer of using the official models' area. After Feifei argued back, He Wei promptly arrived, suspended the model for "unfit behavior," and gifted the expensive designer clothes Feifei was wearing as compensation.
He then offered her a new position as his process editor, which Lin Feifei delightedly accepted. Assistant An expressed concern that Zhou Shi lacked the experience for the personal assistant role. To motivate Zhou Shi, Wei Qing arranged for Zhang Ran Yu to work alongside her for a one-month trial period, after which only the best candidate would be chosen. Spurred on by the challenge, Zhou Shi accepted. Zhang Ran Yu quickly adapted to her role, but Zhou Shi struggled.
She attempted to mimic Zhang Ran Yu by answering a call but was mocked for her poor English. Later, Zhang Ran Yu suggested to Wei Qing that he dismiss Zhou Shi directly, but Wei Qing reprimanded her for questioning his decision and instructed that future document deliveries be handled by Zhou Shi. After this, Zhang Ran Yu's attitude towards Zhou Shi softened, and Zhou Shi began to humbly seek her guidance. Zhou Shi worked diligently, staying late to study.
Wei Qing encouraged her, telling her not to embarrass him. Privately, he confided in Assistant An that if Zhou Shi could last the month, she might become a valuable helper. Wei Qing also acknowledged that placing Li Ming Cheng in his role was a "risky move," hoping it was the right decision. That evening, Feifei returned home to find Zhou Shi studying business English. A knock on the door revealed Li Ming Cheng.
Bi Qiu Jing, who answered, tried to shut the door on him, but Feifei let him in. He had come to ask Bi Qiu Jing for help with confidential Yun Ma accounts. Bi Qiu Jing was initially reluctant but agreed at Zhou Shi’s pleading. As they worked, Li Ming Cheng tenderly fed a snack to Bi Qiu Jing, leaving Zhou Shi with a pang of discomfort.
Soon, Bi Qiu Jing identified several issues, and the two launched into an intense discussion, making Zhou Shi feel completely excluded. Disheartened, she quietly left the room. Wei Qing went to see his mother, He Yun, and found Ning Fei already there. Wei Qing confronted his mother about her private transfer of company shares, but she was defiant, retorting that the board was pushing her out anyway.
She explained that she transferred the shares to protect her late husband’s artistic legacy from the group's commercialism. Wei Qing countered that he had never interfered with her management and was actively working to resolve the gallery's deficits, reminding her that Xue Zi's company wouldn't acquire a losing asset for charity. He Yun insisted Xue Zi had promised to preserve the gallery's artistic freedom, angering Wei Qing that she trusted an outsider over him.
She then accused him of using Xun Ran as a gimmick for a cross-over design project, which caused the artist to miss his exhibition. Ning Fei interjected, clarifying that he had designed the jewelry voluntarily to prevent the gallery from being sold. He Yun gently told Ning Fei that the gallery was being handed to someone who understands art and that his talent was meant for painting.
