You Are So Sweet Episode 7 Recap
> You Are So Sweet Recap
After carefully arranging her appearance outside the door, Xia Xiaoning knocked but received no answer, so she entered, finding contracts already signed but Mobuyu absent. Just then, Gu Chenyu walked in, pretending it was a coincidence, and invited Xia Xiaoning to lunch, claiming he was in the area for business. Over lunch, Gu Chenyu tried to diminish Mobuyu's standing in Xia Xiaoning's eyes.
He implied Mobuyu lacked sincerity for not showing up for the signing and suggested he was difficult to work with. Xia Xiaoning defended Mobuyu, explaining he rarely took commercial projects and that his willingness to sign today, even if absent, showed sincerity. She also highlighted Mobuyu’s popularity and excellent acting skills, assuring Gu Chenyu that any personal enthusiasm on her part would not compromise the company's interests.
Gu Chenyu remained dismissive of Mobuyu’s talent before changing the subject to Xia Xiaoning’s preparation for the upcoming company audition. Meanwhile, Xie Fei, sipping red wine and admiring his physique in a mirror, expressed frustration at being outshone by an online idol who dared not show his face, vowing not to accept defeat. The following morning, both Gu Chenyu and Xie Fei waited outside Xia Xiaoning’s home, offering to drive her to work.
She declined both their invitations, opting to take the bus. Gu Chenyu sarcastically commented on Xie Fei’s unusual punctuality for work, and the two exchanged playful jabs before Xia Xiaoning departed. On the bus, Xia Xiaoning saw that Xie Wuchang had retweeted her Weibo post about participating in the Lethe audition.
Her comments section immediately exploded with buzz, making her wonder if she had woken up on the wrong side of the bed and prompting her to try and go back to sleep to calm her nerves. In a meeting room, the team discussed Xie Wuchang’s retweet. They interpreted it as his interest in collaborating on Lethe. Seizing the opportunity, Xie Fei suggested Xia Xiaoning be responsible for liaising with Xie Wuchang.
However, Gu Chenyu immediately objected, citing Xia Xiaoning’s already saturated workload as his personal assistant, given her responsibilities with Mobuyu and her own audition preparations. When asked for her opinion, Xia Xiaoning admitted she didn't know Xie Wuchang well and feared that a rash approach might backfire, suggesting someone else handle the follow-up. Sister Yanran promptly intervened, ending the debate about Xia Xiaoning's work assignments and adjourning the meeting.
Elsewhere, Yaoyao was tending to a cactus at home when she accidentally pricked her finger, casually remarking it was a bad omen and that something might happen that day. At the recording studio, Xia Xiaoning and Yating were practicing their lines. Yating, feeling anxious, asked Xia Xiaoning if she could audition after her, hoping that seeing Xia Xiaoning from the control room would help calm her. Xia Xiaoning readily agreed.
Shortly after, Sister Luoli, Sister Yanran's subordinate, approached Xia Xiaoning with a confidential document that needed immediate delivery to Mr. Li's company in Nancheng, emphasizing it was urgent and couldn't be sent via courier. Despite Xia Xiaoning’s protests about her afternoon audition, Sister Luoli insisted that company matters took precedence and assured her there would be enough time to return for the four o'clock audition. Reluctantly, Xia Xiaoning took the document and rushed off.
Upon arriving at Mr. Li's company, Xia Xiaoning learned he wasn't there. He told her over the phone that he was at a factory nearby and asked her to deliver the document there. Xia Xiaoning confirmed the location, a factory on Qinglan Road, concerned about her looming audition. Once inside the factory, she found no one. As she realized she was alone, the factory doors began to slowly close, trapping her inside.
She frantically tried to call for help, but her calls went unanswered or to a disconnected number. Eventually, she managed to reach Sister Luoli, but before she could fully explain her predicament, the call disconnected, leaving Xia Xiaoning on the verge of tears. As evening approached, heavy rain began to fall. The factory doors finally opened, and Xia Xiaoning ran out, but found herself without an umbrella and unable to hail a taxi. Just then, Gu Chenyu called.
Xia Xiaoning, distressed, managed to tell him her approximate location, specifying she was under the Nanhu Road Bus Stop Sign, near a red bridge. Gu Chenyu, braving Typhoon Mangosteen, drove to pick her up. Inside the car, he turned the heater to its highest setting and admonished Xia Xiaoning for accepting tasks from others without consulting him, reminding her that she was his assistant. As he spoke, Xia Xiaoning leaned her head to the side and drifted to sleep.
Gu Chenyu noticed she was burning up, realizing she had a fever. At home, Yaoyao worried about Xia Xiaoning, whose phone was off. She knocked on Gu Chenyu’s door, then Xie Fei’s. Xie Fei was home, and they both speculated about Xia Xiaoning and Gu Chenyu’s whereabouts. Meanwhile, Gu Chenyu sat by Xia Xiaoning's hospital bed. When his phone rang, he explained that Xia Xiaoning had gotten wet in the rain and developed a fever, and was now hospitalized.
Yaoyao and Xie Fei were bickering over the phone, causing the call to disconnect before they could get more details. As Gu Chenyu watched the sleeping Xia Xiaoning, his thoughts drifted to their past. He recalled a difficult period after a family change when Xia Xiaoning would listen to Mobuyu's stories every night, finding comfort and healing. Lost in thought, he opened his phone and began reading.
Xia Xiaoning’s hand subtly twitched, prompting Gu Chenyu to gently hold her hand with one of his own, while stroking her head with the other, before leaning down to kiss her.
