A friend, however, was less impressed with An Ning's outfit for her upcoming blind date, remarking that it looked like something for "Harvest Moon" and calling her a "flowering cucumber." Despite this, An Ning hurried to her date, determined to find her prince. Meanwhile, Long Haoqian, President of Long Teng Group, was in a tense negotiation. His business partner, Uncle Wang, had unexpectedly defected to their rival, L Group.

Despite Long Haoqian's insistence on the years of partnership and his company's significant investment in the project, Uncle Wang maintained that "profits come first" and had made his decision, leaving Long Haoqian frustrated. At her blind date, An Ning's extraordinary ability to read people's memories quickly revealed her date to be a complete scoundrel. She saw that he had seduced his girlfriend's best friend, slept with multiple women, abandoned his previous girlfriend, and even forced her to have an abortion.

Barely suppressing her anger, An Ning decided to get her revenge. She ordered thirty expensive dishes, then excused herself to the washroom and discreetly left, sticking her date with a hefty bill of 4,239 yuan. Feeling triumphant, An Ning entered an elevator, where she encountered Long Haoqian, the owner of the car she had checked her reflection in earlier. To fill the awkward silence, An Ning began singing to herself, which Long Haoqian found peculiar, internally labeling her "mentally ill."

Suddenly, the elevator lights flickered off and it got stuck. An Ning, who suffers from severe nyctophobia, instinctively embraced Long Haoqian. Unknown to her, Long Haoqian has a profound aversion to physical contact with women due to a traumatic memory, and her touch triggered a violent vomiting spell. Once rescued, Long Haoqian sternly told An Ning to stay away from him. Long Haoqian was still reeling from the elevator incident when his father called, summoning him home.

His father, the Chairman, expressed disappointment over his business failure, attributing it to a "lack of capability" and warning that such a mistake should never happen again. Long Haoqian acknowledged his father's words and affirmed his commitment to making amends. His father also inquired if his mother had contacted him, to which Long Haoqian replied she hadn't. Later that evening, Long Haoqian sought solace by meeting his friend, Yi Mingjun, for a drink and a chat.

However, Yi Mingjun soon abandoned him to flirt with other women, leaving Long Haoqian to confront his frustrations alone. Back home, An Ning was confronted by her mother, who was furious about the failed blind date and the fact that An Ning had been blacklisted by the dating website for ordering 30 dishes and running off.

An Ning tried to explain that the man was a playboy and deserved it, but her mother was exasperated by her daughter's "picky" standards, calling her a "nutjob." An Ning's grandfather intervened, deflecting her mother's anger by complimenting her new hairstyle. Later, An Ning found herself in the bathroom, still in a wedding dress, feeling disheartened.

She recalled her father's comforting words from her childhood, describing a brave, strong, and merciful princess who would one day be swept away by her tall, dashing prince on a white horse to a palace filled with singing, dancing, and delicious food. She still believed her prince was on his way, perhaps just running late. That night, Long Haoqian was tormented by a decade-long nightmare, forcing him to take medication to calm himself.

The next morning, An Ning arrived for her first day as a chef assistant at Long Teng Hotel. She observed the head chef, Gong Chen, bickering with Ma Menglu, the manager of Oriental Cuisines, about proper greetings. An Ning's ability allowed her to see that Ma Menglu, despite claiming to be 23 during her interview, was actually 33 years old and struggling with the insecurities of an older single woman.

Gong Chen introduced An Ning to the kitchen staff, including Yi Mingjun, who was also a chef assistant. An Ning's excellent test scores, despite not attending training, were highlighted. The kitchen staff then received urgent news: Long Haoqian would personally inspect today's important banquet because the VIP guest was a germophobe, demanding impeccable hygiene and presentation. The staff gossiped about Long Haoqian's strictness and his reputation for being "chaste," wondering if he was gay or had other issues.

While preparing for the banquet, An Ning accidentally knocked over a pot of the special "old stock" vital for a key dish. Just then, Long Haoqian entered the kitchen for his inspection. Upon seeing An Ning, both were surprised to recognize each other. Discovering the spilled stock, Long Haoqian was furious. Citing the ruined stock and still recalling their awkward elevator encounter, he immediately fired An Ning.

An Ning protested, asserting that she could find a replacement for the stock that would be just as good, but Long Haoqian refused to listen, stating he wouldn't tolerate any mistakes from his subordinates. An Ning, recognizing this as personal bias, fired back, accusing him of being angry over his recent business failure. Long Haoqian, shocked that she knew about the negotiation, immediately suspected her of being a commercial spy from L Group.

As they argued, Gong Chen rushed in to vouch for An Ning, while other kitchen staff expressed their regret at her sudden dismissal. An Ning, however, declared that she still had something important she needed to accomplish before she could leave.
