After a lively dart game with Siyu, An'an, and Su Yanxi, Gu Xicheng emerged victorious. He then playfully approached Su Yanxi for a kiss, much to An'an's visible embarrassment and disgust. Later, as Gu Xicheng drove Su Yanxi home, she expressed concern about Grandma Gu's reaction to their earlier impromptu departure. Gu Xicheng, however, reassured her, saying he would shoulder any responsibility.
Upon their arrival, Grandma Gu, still upset, chided them for leaving and returning as they pleased, questioning if they still considered her an elder. Su Yanxi apologized for causing worry, while Gu Xicheng took the blame, asking Grandma Gu to punish him instead of Yanxi. Though still vexed, Grandma Gu ultimately forgave them, but "punished" them by ordering them to stay in their room and not come out until working hours.
Later that evening, Su Yanxi found Gu Xicheng working late and joined him. She playfully chided him for causing his birthday cake to be "spoiled" due to their outing, then promised to buy him a three-layer cake for his next birthday. Gu Xicheng then inquired about her new product design, reminding her that the announcement was only three days away. Realizing she hadn't finished the material samples, Su Yanxi rushed back to her room to continue working.
Alone, she pondered the correctness of her actions, worrying about how Gu Xicheng would react if he discovered her true identity when He Jinxi and her mother returned. Despite her anxieties, she resolved to focus on her work. Meanwhile, Fu Boya confronted Nangong Liuli, urging her to let go of her attachment to Gu Xicheng.
He tried to throw away a watch, which Nangong Liuli had worn for seven years and cherished as a symbol of her love for Gu Xicheng. She pleaded with Fu Boya not to, insisting that Gu Xicheng still loved her, even though she had taken money from Grandma Gu to study abroad in the past.
Fu Boya sternly told her that Gu Xicheng had never loved her, neither in the past, nor in the present, nor would he in the future. During the new product packaging design presentation at Huayan, both Nangong Liuli and Su Yanxi (as He Jinxi) showcased their work. Siyu called for a professional and impartial vote, and Gu Xicheng, to ensure fairness, asked Siyu to host the announcement of the results, leaving the conference room himself.
The voting concluded with He Jinxi's "Beautiful East" design receiving six votes, while Nangong Liuli's "White Moonlight" design received four. Siyu then announced that He Jinxi would be fully responsible for Huayan's new product packaging design. After the meeting, Nangong Liuli confronted Gu Xicheng outside, asking if he left because he couldn't bear to witness her defeat. Gu Xicheng reiterated that the office was no place for personal matters and urged her, as a leader, to control her emotions.
He pointed out that her emotional state led to her losing to her subordinate, and that this behavior was unlike the Nangong Liuli he once knew. Nangong Liuli confessed that she came to Huayan for him, willing to dedicate all her abilities to help him build the company, and asked why he pushed her away.
Gu Xicheng explained that a relationship between them was impossible, reminding her that she had made her choice years ago when she left and accepted money from Grandma Gu. He admitted that his past care for her in the astronomy club was simply due to her being the only female member, and that her actions had severed even their friendship.
Nangong Liuli tried to explain, but Gu Xicheng insisted there was nothing to say, stating that everyone makes choices and must face the consequences. Devastated, Nangong Liuli felt she had lost her last shred of dignity. She packed her belongings and left Huayan. Outside, Fu Boya found a distraught Nangong Liuli and rushed to her aid as she collapsed. When she regained consciousness, Fu Boya was by her side, comforting her as she wept about losing everything.
Though he outwardly soothed her, Fu Boya harbored a deep resentment towards Gu Xicheng. Later, at the office, Su Yanxi prepared to leave, bidding Gu Xicheng farewell. He expressed a desire for her to stay, even if it meant working together. She reminded him of his responsibilities as Huayan's president and promised she'd be home soon. After a quick, discreet kiss, she left.
Looking at her reflection in the mirror, Su Yanxi worried about her identity being exposed when the real He Jinxi returned, questioning if she could retain her newfound happiness. She called An'an, and they went to a bar. An'an sensed Su Yanxi's unease and urged her to reveal her true identity to Gu Xicheng, warning that He Jinxi was not an easy person to deal with.
Su Yanxi admitted she couldn't control her feelings and had truly fallen in love with Gu Xicheng. From across the bar, Fu Boya observed them. He bribed the bartender to serve Su Yanxi and An'an high-alcohol drinks. After Su Yanxi became heavily intoxicated, the bartender, at Fu Boya's instruction, lured An'an away on a false pretense.
Fu Boya then approached the inebriated Su Yanxi, who was disoriented and resisted his attempts to help her, all while he deliberately posed for a hidden photographer to capture pictures of them embracing. An'an returned, frustrated at being tricked, and found Su Yanxi struggling. Siyu received a call from An'an, informing him of Su Yanxi's state, and he quickly brought Gu Xicheng to the bar. Gu Xicheng, concerned, took the very drunk Su Yanxi home.
On their way, or upon arriving, he gently chided her for drinking so much. As they entered the house, a tipsy Su Yanxi pressed Gu Xicheng to confess his love and began to reveal a secret, but their conversation was cut short by Aunt Mei's sudden appearance. Gu Xicheng quickly ushered Su Yanxi inside, promising to talk later. The next morning, Su Yanxi woke up to Gu Xicheng offering her lemon water.
She was clad in his shirt, having misplaced her pajamas. They playfully bickered about her attire and his overindulgence of her. Still feeling insecure, Su Yanxi asked Gu Xicheng if he would ever regret knowing or spoiling her. Gu Xicheng looked at her deeply and declared his love, promising to cherish her for a lifetime. As they sat and ate, Gu Xicheng teasingly took a piece of lemon from her. In that moment, Su Yanxi fully realized that she had truly, deeply fallen in love with him.
