Grandpa Jiang announced the engagement of Jiang Anchen and Xia Yu, which surprised many people, especially Jiang Anchen himself. He didn't understand why his grandfather suddenly wanted him to marry Xia Yu. Lin Wanbai was overjoyed because now no one would compete with her for Jiang Muchen.
Jiang Muchen comforted Xia Yu and wanted her to attend the banquet before it ended. But the news of Jiang Anchen and Xia Yu's engagement made him change his mind. He saw a scratch on Xia Yu's hand, so he called his personal doctor to come to his house and took Xia Yu back to his own home.
It was the first time the personal doctor had seen Jiang Muchen bring a girl home, and he teased Jiang Muchen for making such a big fuss over such a small wound. If they had come any later, the wound would have already healed. After the doctor left, Xia Yu asked to go home, so Jiang Muchen drove her back to the village. They chatted in the car, and Jiang Muchen told her about Grandpa Jiang wanting Jiang Anchen to marry Xia Yu. Xia Yu didn't want that and believed that marriage had to be between two people who loved each other, and that she wanted to make her own decisions about her own marriage.
When Xia Yu returned to the fishing village, she found that the old house had been demolished and she had nowhere to live. She also found out from Manager Chuan that she had to pay for the new house herself, and she fainted. Jiang Muchen took Xia Yu back to his home and confronted his grandfather, questioning why he always forced people, including Xia Yu, to do things they didn't want to do.
