The Prince of Tennis Episode 30 Recap
> The Prince of Tennis Recap
Lu Xia, having shown improvement in his Chinese, is rewarded by his teacher with a goldfish. He promptly gives the goldfish to Qi Ying, knowing she is fond of them, much to her delight. Meanwhile, Coach Qi Na is strategizing for the upcoming match against Xingyao, who have been featured in a magazine special. She solidifies Tang Jiale and Chi Dayong as the first doubles pair, initially teasing Tang Jiale before confirming the pairing, which makes him overjoyed.
The second doubles position is more challenging, as Yan Zhiming, Zhang Baiyang, and He Xinglong are all strong singles players, but two are needed for doubles. Yan Zhiming proposes that he and Zhang Baiyang team up, believing their dynamic play would effectively suppress Xingyao's second doubles pair, Hu Liangliang and Feng Zhiyuan. Coach Qi Na agrees to his strategic suggestion. During subsequent training, Tang Jiale appears relaxed, while Chi Dayong struggles, feeling Tang Jiale's strength now surpasses his own.
Tang Jiale, puzzled by Chi Dayong's behavior, seeks clarification from Zhuo Zhi, who remains equally confused, though Tang Jiale incorrectly concludes that Chi Dayong needs to stand alone and overcome pressure. Separately, Mu Siyang is helping Huang Jing practice his serves. However, Lu Xia consistently catches every ball Mu Siyang hits from behind Huang Jing, much to Huang Jing's frustration.
Enraged by Lu Xia's constant interference and forgetting his own limitations, Huang Jing impulsively challenges Lu Xia to a match, which Lu Xia calmly accepts as a warm-up. Their teammates clear the court. Despite Huang Jing's significant recent improvement, and Lu Xia intentionally holding back at first, Huang Jing manages to win an initial point but ultimately cannot match Lu Xia's skill.
Witnessing Huang Jing's desperate effort, Lu Xia eventually ups his game, defeating Huang Jing and earning his grudging respect. Mu Siyang, pleased to see Lu Xia's form restored, nonchalantly assigns them both five laps as punishment. Later, in the locker room, Qiao Chen devises a plan to confirm Mu Siyang's suspected hand injury. He deliberately pretends to strain his hand while holding heavy equipment, forcing Mu Siyang to assist with only his right hand.
Just as Qiao Chen observes this, Zhuo Zhi enters. Mu Siyang, aware of their presence, attempts to pick up the equipment with his left hand to conceal the injury, but both Qiao Chen and Zhuo Zhi realize the truth. Zhuo Zhi, deeply concerned about Mu Siyang's injury, recalls their shared past as "tennis prodigies" entering the Yuqing team together, which fostered a close bond. He discreetly arranges a match with Mu Siyang, hoping to persuade him to avoid further injury.
Despite Mu Siyang's evident struggle due to his hand, which prevents him from playing at his full potential, he refuses to concede. Zhuo Zhi, fearing permanent damage, stops the match, urging Mu Siyang not to jeopardize his health, even for the sake of the team. Mu Siyang confesses that he is driven by a desire to cherish every dwindling opportunity to play alongside his teammates.
Unable to keep the secret, Qiao Chen confides in Lu Xia about Mu Siyang's hand injury, explaining that it might prevent him from playing against Ji Jingwu of Xingyao. Shocked by the news, Lu Xia and Qiao Chen immediately confront Zhuo Zhi, seeking more answers. Unbeknownst to them, Coach Qi Na receives a phone call confirming that Mu Siyang's application for overseas study has passed its initial review. If the final review is successful, Mu Siyang could be leaving the country within a month.
