At night, Wang Keke secretly takes an unflattering photo of Shi Miao sleeping. Seeking revenge because she believes Shi Miao was responsible for Cheng Haonan and Wan Sui scolding her, Wang Keke shows the photo to other girls and posts it online. The next day, Shi Miao wakes up with a sprained neck and waist, unaware of who took the photo. Meanwhile, Wan Sui buys a large quantity of sanitary pads to use as shoe insoles.
Seeing a business opportunity, Shi Fen suggests Wan Sui start a monopoly selling the pads to help with his living expenses. Shi Fen even persuades the class monitor, Zhen Kaixin, not to report Wan Sui's entrepreneurial venture. Later, Shi Miao and Miao Miaomiao see Shi Fen surrounded by girls buying the pads; Shi Miao finds it strange, but Miao Miaomiao thinks he looks handsome.
During military training, Instructor Zhao warns the students about a dilapidated and dangerous abandoned building on the base, rumored to be haunted, and tells them to stay away. That evening, after Cheng Haonan mocks Shi Fen for being afraid of the dark, Cheng Haonan boasts that he will explore the "ghost building" at night. His friends post his claim online, forcing him to go.
Punished with no dinner, Shi Fen and Wan Sui are eating from a jar of chili sauce when Zhen Kaixin secretly brings them two steamed buns, mending their friendship. Elsewhere, Miao Miaomiao goes to the toilet with a stomachache. Wang Keke sees this and seizes the opportunity to lie to Shi Miao, telling her that Miao Miaomiao has gone to the ghost building. Worried, Shi Miao immediately rushes off to find her.
Shortly after, Shi Fen learns from Zhen Kaixin that his sister has gone to the ghost building and, angered that Zhen Kaixin didn't stop her, grabs medicine for her sprain and follows. Cheng Haonan arrives at the building, but his friends desert him, leaving him to drag Wan Sui along. Inside, Wan Sui faints after seeing an anatomical model. Shi Fen, Cheng Haonan, and Shi Miao end up scaring one another in the dark.
Shi Miao, terrified and unable to find Miao Miaomiao, starts crying. Shi Fen, putting aside his own fear of the dark for his sister, comforts her. The two have a heartfelt reconciliation, and Shi Miao is deeply moved that he came for her and brought medicine. Cheng Haonan interrupts their moment, asking whose hand he touched in the darkness. When they both deny it was theirs, he panics, convinced a real ghost is present, and the three flee the building.
Outside, they run into Miao Miaomiao and realize Wang Keke tricked them. Cheng Haonan then remembers he left Wan Sui behind. As Zhen Kaixin goes back to rescue him, Wang Keke reports Shi Miao to Instructor Zhao, who also heads to the building. Inside, Wan Sui has been tied up by a masked person. Instructor Zhao confronts and fights the masked individual.
Just as he gets the upper hand, Zhen Kaixin arrives and, mistaking the instructor for the villain, knocks him out. The military training concludes. At a final assembly, staff explain that they believe a chicken thief was living in the abandoned building. The students who broke curfew, including Shi Fen, are publicly reprimanded but receive a round of applause from their peers. As they prepare to leave, Shi Fen finds Cheng Haonan scaring Wang Keke with a centipede.
Shi Fen takes over but simply warns her not to bully his sister again. Before departing, Instructor Zhao pulls Shi Fen aside and tells him that rules often exist for protection. After an emotional farewell, the students leave, and the instructor breaks down in tears. Back home, life returns to its chaotic normal, with Shi Miao once again nagging her brother. Wan Sui, however, has changed, proudly demonstrating his new discipline to his tearfully happy mother.
