As a child named Xiao Feng, she was devastated by the tragic loss of both her parents in a car accident, who succumbed to heavy bleeding despite rescue efforts. Witnessing her profound grief, a young Su Muyun comforted her and secretly vowed to protect his "Sister Yifeng." Doctors diagnosed Xiao Feng with post-traumatic stress disorder, warning of potential symptoms like sleepwalking, selective amnesia, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

Years later, Xiao Feng has grown into the beautiful Su Nianfeng, while Su Muyun has matured into a handsome and popular campus king. One morning, Su Nianfeng, who often dreams of the bright and cheerful Qin Yao, is abruptly woken by her alarm to find Su Muyun asleep on her bedroom floor. She indignantly pushes him awake, complaining about his constant presence and lecturing.

Their playful bickering is a common occurrence, even during video calls with their parents who are away on a twenty-day business trip. Their mother, accustomed to their forty-three quarrels in less than a month, simply urges Su Nianfeng, as the older sister, to be more tolerant, and Su Muyun, as a boy, to be more chivalrous.

After the call, their squabbling continues, with Su Muyun cheekily twisting their mother's advice, leading Su Nianfeng to lament her "nightmarish life" with her "demon brother." With their parents away, Su Nianfeng is tasked with cooking for Su Muyun, a duty she performs because he developed stomach problems during a math competition. Despite her excellent culinary skills, Su Muyun feigns disdain for the breakfast, complaining about its texture and sweetness.

However, once Su Nianfeng leaves, he secretly devours the meal, revealing his true enjoyment. The new semester begins at Huiming High School, with Su Nianfeng, now a senior, determined to improve her academic performance despite her tendency to get distracted. She aims to escape Su Muyun's influence by getting into a university far away from him. Upon arriving in her Class 5, known for its "slackers," she realizes she has brought the wrong textbook.

To everyone's surprise, Su Muyun, a renowned "iceberg campus king" and top student who has been the basketball MVP for three years, enters their classroom. The girls wonder why he isn't in the top Class 1. Su Muyun walks directly to Su Nianfeng's desk, dropping the correct textbook with a remark about her being a scatterbrain.

Su Nianfeng initially thinks he is just delivering the book, but he reveals that their parents, worried about her falling in love, had him transfer to her class to supervise her studies. Later that afternoon, a friendly basketball match is scheduled. Su Muyun informs Su Nianfeng that he expects her to be there. She initially refuses, citing her need for extra lessons. However, Qin Yao's arrival immediately changes her mind.

She enthusiastically offers to bring snacks, and his genuine praise for her cooking delights her, much to Su Muyun's obvious displeasure. Su Nianfeng reminisces about when her feelings for Qin Yao began, recalling an instance where he had shielded her from a flying ball, describing him as the first boy to treat her with such gentleness, his smile illuminating her entire girlhood. Before the game, Su Muyun pushes her to make a cheer sign for him.

After the basketball game, Su Nianfeng rushes to the classroom for extra lessons, only to find the class has already concluded. Her teacher, Mr. Zhang, expresses concern about her grades, urging her to work harder and providing her with key questions to practice. As she studies alone, Su Muyun messages her, impatiently asking when she will return to cook dinner. She replies she will be back soon.

Moments later, Su Muyun appears with a tuna rice ball, her favorite, condescendingly offering to tutor her. Su Nianfeng argues that while he is smart, his bad temper and superior attitude make him a poor teacher. After he relents and agrees to treat her as an equal, she asks him to speak well of her to Qin Yao and stop undermining her.

This infuriates Su Muyun, who immediately packs her books and storms out, leaving a bewildered Su Nianfeng to follow. Meanwhile, new classmates join Class 5: the "problem girl" Liu Zihui and the gentle Le Diyin. Le Diyin, whom Su Nianfeng had once helped after a skateboarding incident, is secretly pleased to be in the same class as her. The teacher initially announces that students will be seated according to their grades. However, Liu Zihui, after introducing herself, cleverly challenges this.

Arguing that classmates should help each other, she suggests that top students and struggling ones should sit together. She then proposes that students be allowed to freely choose their own deskmates to foster this mutual support, an idea the teacher approves. As students line up for seat selection, Su Muyun offers Su Nianfeng the "precious opportunity" to be his deskmate. She quickly declines, reminding him that she still hasn't settled the score for him scribbling all over her notes and stating that she already has someone else in mind.
