Rui Rui dreamed that his parents had abandoned him, waking up crying and calling for them. Cheng Mu was deeply saddened by Rui Rui's dream, recalling his own childhood nightmares where his mother often belittled him, calling him a burden. This led him to believe every parental argument was his fault, a painful memory that continued to haunt him.
Cheng Mu received a phone call from Zhou Ming, Rui Rui's father, who confirmed that he and Rui Rui's mother had reconciled and would soon pick Rui Rui up. Cheng Mu grew anxious, realizing he would no longer live with Jiang Sihan. The next day, Rui Rui, however, was already planning.
He told Cheng Mu he was leaving soon and was worried about him, asking if Cheng Mu intended to die alone because he was "boring" and couldn't win Jiang Sihan back that way. Rui Rui then suggested he could help. He revealed that Jiang Sihan had been feeling lonely and wanted Cheng Mu to be her boyfriend. He urged Cheng Mu to confess soon, warning that she might get together with Uncle Han otherwise.
Rui Rui then volunteered to wake Jiang Sihan up, fabricating a story that Cheng Mu had been saying he felt lonely and wanted her to be his girlfriend, and that he planned to ask her out and likely confess that very day. Jiang Sihan was surprised but pleased, wondering if she should get ready and dress nicely. Rui Rui also informed Cheng Mu that Jiang Sihan was eager to go out with him and would like any place he chose.
To give them space, Rui Rui announced he would spend the day playing with Cheng Yu. Later, Rui Rui was seen with Li Jingyang at his workplace. Li Jingyang joked that Cheng Mu, whom he called "the heartless one," had gone on a date with Jiang Sihan, finding it hard to believe. Colleagues in the office were already gossiping about Cheng Mu's sudden romantic initiative, noting that their "Boss" (Cheng Mu) was asking for date ideas in the group chat.
They mentioned that Cheng Mu had been preparing a new dessert called "Confession" for a long time, leading them to believe he was finally making a move on Jiang Sihan. Rui Rui confirmed that it was thanks to him that Cheng Mu and Jiang Sihan were finally out on a date.
Li Jingyang, impressed by Rui Rui's cuteness, playfully suggested to Cheng Yu that with their good genes, they should consider having a child together, confirming to Rui Rui that they were indeed dating. Cheng Yu then playfully scolded Li Jingyang to get back to work, which he enthusiastically did, claiming he was earning money for their future baby. Cheng Mu and Jiang Sihan's date began at an archery range.
Cheng Mu, surprisingly adept, offered to teach Jiang Sihan, who eventually hit a bullseye. When Jiang Sihan expressed tiredness, Cheng Mu suddenly took her to a boxing gym. He passionately explained boxing as a sport that was not just physical but also required a lot of thought and strategy. Jiang Sihan, clearly uncomfortable with the intensity, quickly gave up, finding the idea of boxing on a date unusual. Cheng Mu, noticing her discomfort, decided they should do something "more artistic."
They next went to a steakhouse for a romantic candlelit dinner, where Cheng Mu personally played the guitar and sang love songs for Jiang Sihan. Jiang Sihan was happy and thanked Cheng Mu, commenting that she hadn't known this side of him. During dinner, the restaurant experienced a brief power outage. In the dark, Jiang Sihan encouraged Cheng Mu to say whatever he wanted.
He confessed that he was very happy with her and hoped she could get to know more different sides of him. When she asked if that was all, he hastily added that he had many other skills he hadn't shown her and offered to demonstrate them another time. Jiang Sihan, clearly disappointed by the non-confession, agreed to the next time but seemed dejected. They then left to pick up Rui Rui.
On the way home, Jiang Sihan spoke to her mother on the phone, assuring her that her work was going well. She later confided in Cheng Mu that her parents were unaware she was a food blogger, viewing it as not a "real job," and that she feared they would force her to return home if they knew.
She explained that she pursued it out of simple passion, which later evolved into a sense of responsibility as her writing helped heal and encourage many people. After Rui Rui was asleep, Jiang Sihan expressed how much she would miss him. Cheng Mu shared the sentiment, praising his sister's good genes.
He then reassured Jiang Sihan about Zhou Ming, stating that despite his quiet nature, he was a responsible person who worked hard to provide for his family and would prove himself through action. Jiang Sihan pondered that some things need to be said aloud; otherwise, others would never know. Cheng Mu later returned to his dessert notebook, sketching and planning, still perfecting his "Confession" cake.
Meanwhile, at a film set, Tao Manman, a female artist under Cheng Yu, approached Li Jingyang, feigning an eye injury and asking him to blow on it. After he tried to help, she attempted to kiss him, claiming her previous lack of response was a mistake regarding his supposed feelings for her.
Li Jingyang was taken aback, denying he had ever expressed feelings for her or wanted to pursue her, stating emphatically that his heart only had room for one person. Undeterred, Tao Manman threatened to post a video of their interaction online, accusing him of being a "scumbag" who had bullied her and had long-standing improper intentions, warning that it would ruin his career as a popular star if he didn't agree to be her boyfriend.
Just then, Cheng Yu arrived to pick up Li Jingyang. Li Jingyang tried to explain the situation to Cheng Yu. Cheng Yu, unfazed, calmly revealed that she had also recorded the entire exchange on her phone. She then turned Tao Manman's threat back on her, asking how a popular female model would develop her career if the video were released. Tao Manman panicked, profusely apologized, and immediately deleted her video, promising never to appear before them again.
After Tao Manman left, Li Jingyang praised Cheng Yu for her quick thinking and protective actions. Cheng Yu jokingly said she would have to think about how to punish him for getting into such a situation. Li Jingyang playfully suggested his punishment be to never leave her. The next morning, Rui Rui asked Cheng Mu about his date with Jiang Sihan, disappointed that he still hadn't confessed.
Cheng Mu tried to explain that confession was a serious matter that couldn't be rushed, and Jiang Sihan wouldn't be happy with a casual confession. Rui Rui countered that Jiang Sihan hadn't left the house all day, implying she was unhappy. Deciding to take matters into his own hands, Rui Rui found Jiang Sihan, insisting she take him out since he was leaving soon and hadn't gone out with her yet. Cheng Mu tried to intervene, saying Jiang Sihan was busy, but Rui Rui persisted, leading to them taking a photo together, hinting at their bond.
