Revenged Love Recap

Episode 1 Recap

Under the dim lighting in the room, Chi Cheng sat on the sofa with a small white snake lying on his left arm. Suddenly, someone called him and provoked him with challenging words, saying they had gotten a snake and asking if Chi Cheng dared to accept the challenge. Chi Cheng did not back down and prepared to bring his big white snake, Huang Long, to the showdown. The scene shifted dramatically to bright sunlight.

Wu Qiqiong’s mother was preparing a lavish meal because Wu Qiqiong’s girlfriend, Yue Yue, was coming over for dinner. She even specially bought three jin of crayfish. Wu Qiqiong was also excited and, after checking, discovered some of the crayfish were missing, which made him angry. Wu Qiqiong’s mother found it odd that Yue Yue hadn’t arrived yet. Wu Qiqiong wasn’t too worried because Yue Yue often showed up late to their dates.

He guessed she might be having trouble finding his house and called her. Yue Yue saw that Wu Qiqiong lived in a slum area and felt disdainful after being picked up by Zhang Wanchang. Upon meeting Wu Qiqiong, she proposed breaking up. Wu Qiqiong loved her deeply and didn’t want to break up so easily. He grabbed her, trying to understand her reasons. At that moment, Wu Qiqiong was punched.

Yue Yue’s lover, Wang Zhenlong, appeared and even insulted Wu Qiqiong. Chi Cheng brought his giant python, Huang Long, to the duel with Guo Shao’s snake. The onlookers were excited. At one point, Guo Shao’s snake even had the upper hand. Chi Cheng calmly sat on the sofa, sipping his wine without showing any emotion. Everyone thought Guo Shao was going to win this time.

But just when Guo Shao became smug, the tide turned—Chi Cheng’s Huang Long wrapped around Guo Shao’s snake and then bit it. Guo Shao lost the match. Though displeased, he still showed the attitude of accepting defeat with grace. Shockingly, the prize they had agreed on was a person who looked like a child. At the hospital, Doctor Jiang came to Wu Qiqiong’s bedside. Wu Qiqiong had fallen unconscious after being punched in the head.

Chi Cheng, who was enjoying some peace, suddenly received a call from his mother, telling him that his father was hospitalized. Chi Cheng rushed home out of concern. While he was sleeping at home, he got a call early the next morning—his snake den had been raided, and even the little dragon he won in the duel had disappeared.

Chi Cheng suspected the raid had something to do with that little dragon, so he hurried downstairs, only to run into his father and discover he wasn’t actually sick—it was just a trick to get Chi Cheng to come home. Following the doctor's advice, Wu Qiqiong successfully lost weight and became more handsome. He wanted to find Yue Yue again. Although Yue Yue had a change of heart, their reconciliation failed, and Wu Qiqiong was beaten by Wang Zhenlong again.

Before Wu Qiqiong could even go to the hospital for treatment, his boss called him back to work to fix a machine. However, his boss took advantage of him, and after experiencing this classic blow, the usually timid Wu Qiqiong finally mustered the courage to resign. Unwilling to remain poor, Wu Qiqiong decided to start a business, beginning with a street stall. But the spot he chose happened to be on the land owned by Chi Cheng’s Yuancheng Group.

On the very first day he set up his stall, Chi Cheng came with his people to inspect the area. Wu Qiqiong angered Chi Cheng and ran off to hide in Jiang Xiaoshuai’s hospital. After the failure of his street stall, Wu Qiqiong began a second entrepreneurial attempt—livestreaming—which just so happened to collide with Chi Cheng. The little dragon was captured and, upon seeing Chi Cheng, became terrified and begged for mercy.

But Chi Cheng had no intention of letting him go. He handed the little dragon over to his subordinates. When Chi Cheng came out of the bar, his car happened to block Wang Zhenlong’s. At that moment, Yue Yue was also attracted to Chi Cheng’s good looks. As Wang Zhenlong was driving, Chi Cheng drove toward him from the opposite direction, causing Wang Zhenlong to swerve and crash into the roadside. Chi Cheng was once again called home.

His father gave him a year to find a girlfriend, or the family would arrange one for him. Yue Yue dressed herself flamboyantly and sought out Chi Cheng, pretending to be very fond of snakes in order to win his favor. Coincidentally, Chi Cheng was also looking for a girl to appease his father. Since Wu Qiqiong’s equipment was confiscated and he could no longer livestream, he found a new job driving a freight truck.

While delivering goods, he was stopped by Chi Cheng, who was looking for his snake. At that moment, Yue Yue came looking for Chi Cheng, which led to a misunderstanding when Wu Qiqiong saw them together.

Episode 2 Recap

Wu Suowei returned to the hospital with a dejected expression. The friends at the hospital, seeing Wu Suowei, came up with concern to ask what was wrong, but at that moment Wu Suowei wasn’t in the mood to talk to anyone—he just wanted to be alone and quietly walked away. For the sake of revenge, Wu Suowei wanted Jiang Xiaoshuai to teach him how to attract men.

Wu Suowei’s goal was to lure in Chi Cheng in order to get revenge on both Chi Cheng and Yue Yue. At first, Jiang Xiaoshuai was unwilling to agree, but after hearing about Wu Suowei’s experiences, he decided to help. He deliberately gathered information on Chi Cheng, analyzing his habits and preferences to “know the enemy and know oneself, and win every battle.” After covering the theory, Jiang Xiaoshuai personally led Wu Suowei to begin field practice.

On a rainy night, Jiang Xiaoshuai brought Wu Suowei, pushing an electric scooter loaded with goods, and appeared on the road where Chi Cheng would definitely pass by. As expected, when Chi Cheng saw Wu Suowei, he got out of his car to help push and then returned to his vehicle looking dashing.

From just this one encounter, Jiang Xiaoshuai realized he had underestimated Chi Cheng’s level, and continued bringing Wu Suowei to appear in front of Chi Cheng, constantly striking poses and putting on an act. But Chi Cheng seemed to see through Wu Suowei’s intentions and gave him no chance. Seeing no progress, Jiang Xiaoshuai continued digging and found out Chi Cheng liked playing basketball. He suggested Wu Suowei go to the basketball court. This time things progressed more quickly.

Three days later, Wu Suowei returned to the court and found Chi Cheng. Although Chi Cheng pretended to be indifferent, he was actually looking forward to seeing Wu Suowei. The moment he saw him, he greeted him first, and even sneakily slapped Wu Suowei on the butt when he wasn’t looking. Wu Suowei was quite upset by the sudden ambush.

After returning, Wu Suowei tried to get even closer to Chi Cheng and even became his apprentice to learn how to raise snakes. Since Wu Suowei was very attentive, he quickly picked it up. That night, Wu Suowei deliberately waited at the basketball court for Chi Cheng, offering a small white mouse to feed Chi Cheng’s snake and even gifted him a box of Dabao.

When Chi Cheng was feeding his little white snake, Xiaocupao, he noticed that Xiaocupao didn’t want to eat. He realized it was because Wu Suowei had fed it once before, and now the snake had become picky. While scolding Xiaocupao, Chi Cheng was actually thinking of Wu Suowei—ever since that feeding, Wu Suowei hadn’t shown up again, and Chi Cheng was starting to miss him.

Feeling bored, Chi Cheng went to a bar and ran into a man who was chasing after Jiang Xiaoshuai. Early the next morning, Wu Suowei woke up and was chatting with Jiang Xiaoshuai when he suddenly spotted Chi Cheng and quickly hid. Chi Cheng asked about Wu Suowei’s project, but Jiang Xiaoshuai lied and said Wu Suowei wasn’t there. Chi Cheng didn’t believe it and went to look for him himself, going straight to Wu Suowei’s room.

Chi Cheng suddenly barged in, catching Wu Suowei off guard. Flustered, Wu Suowei asked him to wait outside. But Chi Cheng acted very ambiguously and, on his way out, even gently slapped Wu Suowei on the butt again. The unexpected gesture made Wu Suowei feel extremely uncomfortable. After tidying up his clothes, Wu Suowei walked out of the room and asked Chi Cheng why he had come.

No matter what Chi Cheng said, Wu Suowei played hard to get, deliberately throwing small tantrums and keeping Chi Cheng hooked. Jiang Xiaoshuai arrived in time to rescue Wu Suowei, explaining he had gone to get food for Chi Cheng’s snake and caught a cold, which wasn’t contagious. That’s why Wu Suowei hadn’t gone to play basketball. Just then, Wu Suowei received news that more than a dozen of his snakes had suddenly died.

Chi Cheng overheard and followed him to the snake room to investigate. With his experience, Chi Cheng immediately suspected Wu Suowei had been scammed. But in fact, Wu Suowei had deliberately fallen into the “trap”—putting on an act for Chi Cheng to see.

Episode 3 Recap

After Wu Suowei got Chi Cheng’s phone number, he called him to borrow money—a considerable amount. Chi Cheng didn’t hesitate at all. Instead, he asked to add Wu Suowei on WeChat. After adding him, Chi Cheng asked with concern what the money was for, clearly worried that Wu Suowei might be in trouble. Wu Suowei said he needed to buy another batch of snakes and raise them again.

He also analyzed the reason for the last failure, claiming that this time he would definitely succeed. After hearing Wu Suowei’s explanation, Chi Cheng didn’t ask further and directly transferred 200,000 yuan to him. After receiving the money, even Jiang Xiaoshuai was surprised—it was unexpectedly easy to borrow the money. Wu Suowei became even more confident in his ability to attract Chi Cheng. With the money in hand, Wu Suowei went to his mentor to buy more snakes.

His mentor was delighted upon hearing that Wu Suowei wanted to buy snakes. He even tried to upsell him on harder-to-raise snakes, clearly wanting to profit from him. Chi Cheng went to the owner of the snake farm, claiming he wanted to sell snakes. The owner didn’t dare cross him and had no choice but to agree. But when he saw the snakes Chi Cheng brought, he realized they were the same ones he had sold to Wu Suowei earlier.

Chi Cheng had come specifically to get justice for Wu Suowei. Using the same trick the owner had used to scam Wu Suowei last time, Chi Cheng got a lot of money out of him. After receiving the money, Chi Cheng immediately transferred it to Wu Suowei again. Wu Suowei returned to the snake farm wanting to buy a truck. At first, the owner didn’t want to sell it, fearing Chi Cheng would come back and cause more trouble.

But he didn’t dare say it directly and ended up selling the truck to Wu Suowei anyway. After buying the truck, Wu Suowei took Chi Cheng to visit his snake-raising site. Yue Yue went to Chi Cheng’s home and was surprised to discover that both Chi Cheng and Wu Suowei used the same brand of Dabao cream. However, she still complimented Chi Cheng in order not to upset him. Chi Cheng didn’t care much about it.

Hoping to get his snake back, he wanted to bring Yue Yue home with him. Yue Yue was excited, mistakenly thinking that she was about to become Chi Cheng’s wife and gain wealth and status. Chi Cheng bought a lot of high-end clothes for Wu Suowei, and the two agreed to meet in a park. When they met, both acted reserved, waiting for the other to speak first. Wu Suowei kept changing the subject, deliberately avoiding anything related to dating.

Suddenly, Chi Cheng ambiguously slapped Wu Suowei on the butt. Though Wu Suowei felt a bit disgusted, he decided to go all-in and tried to slap Chi Cheng’s butt in return to keep his interest. Just as he was about to do it, Chi Cheng turned around and interrupted him. Seeing Wu Suowei sweating, Chi Cheng thought he had hurt him and offered to massage him.

Wu Suowei struggled internally—this was a perfect opportunity, but the issue was, the other party was a man. Just as Chi Cheng was about to take the next step, Wu Suowei couldn’t go through with it and firmly rejected him. Later, while they were walking together, Wu Suowei kept wanting to hold Chi Cheng’s hand, hoping to take their relationship a step further. But he was still wrestling with his feelings.

Thinking about Chi Cheng possibly marrying Yue Yue, Wu Suowei still wanted to break them up. As he hesitated, a car suddenly passed by. In an instinctive move to save Chi Cheng, Wu Suowei grabbed his hand. That moment brought the two of them even closer. Chi Cheng domineeringly held onto Wu Suowei’s hand, and the two looked like a couple—though Wu Suowei still seemed a bit unnatural. Chi Cheng got a call from Yue Yue and wanted to leave.

Wu Suowei was hesitant at first, but when he saw that it was Yue Yue calling, he instead grabbed Chi Cheng’s hand and wouldn’t let him go. Chi Cheng interpreted Wu Suowei’s reaction as acting cute and jealous, and surprisingly, he didn’t go meet Yue Yue and stayed with Wu Suowei instead.

Episode 4 Recap

Wu Suowei felt that Chi Cheng came from a wealthy family and had graduated from a prestigious university, while his own background couldn’t compare. At the very least, he didn’t want Chi Cheng to think he lacked education, so he kept reading books and expanding his knowledge. Just then, Chi Cheng sent him a message—and the content was so gross that it made Wu Suowei’s hair stand on end.

Wu Suowei deliberately asked Chi Cheng out, wearing something scholarly to meet at the library so they could discuss literature and novels. But Chi Cheng wasn’t interested in any of that—he only wanted to be with Wu Suowei. At first, Wu Suowei resisted a little, but when he heard Chi Cheng say he was busy at night, he guessed Chi Cheng might have plans with Yue Yue and decided he had to interfere.

Chi Cheng, not wanting Wu Suowei to run off again, stood Yue Yue up and went with Wu Suowei to a concert instead. During the concert, Yue Yue called Chi Cheng. Wu Suowei, acting coy, asked Chi Cheng to turn off his phone, and Chi Cheng did so without hesitation. At the concert, Chi Cheng kept making ambiguous moves, and Wu Suowei gritted his teeth and endured it all. After the concert, the two of them ate ice cream.

Wu Suowei got some on his lips, and Chi Cheng actually leaned in and used his own mouth to lick it off—this suggestive move left Wu Suowei completely flustered. Regaining his composure, Wu Suowei initially wanted to storm off in anger, but remembering his mission to break up Chi Cheng and Yue Yue, he forced himself to stay. Later, Chi Cheng asked Wu Suowei to help blow a Tangren (sugar figurine) for Yue Yue.

Upon hearing it was for Yue Yue, Wu Suowei was reluctant. Seeing his expression, Chi Cheng thought he was jealous and kept trying to comfort him. The next morning, Jiang Xiaoshuai was surprised to find only Wu Suowei in the room. He thought Chi Cheng might have spent the night.

After hearing what actually happened, Jiang Xiaoshuai felt it was a pity and told Wu Suowei that if Chi Cheng ever tried to make a move again, he had to respond—otherwise, over time, Chi Cheng would drift away. While Wu Suowei lay in bed feeling at a loss, Chi Cheng called, wanting to go on a date.

Wu Suowei initially opposed Chi Cheng’s suggestion, but then remembered Jiang Xiaoshuai’s advice: no matter what move Chi Cheng makes, he has to respond, or else they’ll grow distant. So Wu Suowei gave a vague response to go along with it. Just as he finished speaking, Chi Cheng hung up, making Wu Suowei think he might’ve come across as too forward. But just as Wu Suowei was chatting with Jiang Xiaoshuai, Chi Cheng and Guo Chengyu suddenly showed up.

All four of them were caught off guard at first, but eventually clarified their relationships with each other. Chi Cheng then received a call about a lead on the snake, and he left without hesitation. Guo Chengyu returned to the clinic and asked Jiang Xiaoshuai to help dress his wounds. As Jiang Xiaoshuai did the bandaging, he kept stammering, unable to speak clearly. Wu Suowei, who was eavesdropping nearby, grew anxious and silently cheered Jiang Xiaoshuai on.

Guo Chengyu then took the opportunity to ask for Jiang Xiaoshuai’s contact info. Jiang Xiaoshuai, thinking he could use this to get information for Wu Suowei, silently agreed. Chi Cheng discovered a hidden snake in a vegetable transport truck—it was the offspring of his own python. He guessed the snake must be somewhere in the company, and after some analysis, concluded it was likely in the cafeteria.

However, he didn’t rush to retrieve it, knowing that even if he got it back, his father would find another way to take it away. He needed a perfect plan. Chi Cheng sought out Wu Suowei again. Seeing him asleep, Chi Cheng couldn’t help but feel tenderness. During their conversation, Chi Cheng even forcibly kissed Wu Suowei, leaving him completely stunned.

That night, Jiang Xiaoshuai still wanted to figure out the relationship between Guo Chengyu and Chi Cheng but was afraid Guo Chengyu might be investigating Wu Suowei. Not wanting to tip him off, Jiang Xiaoshuai blocked him outright. The next day at work, Jiang Xiaoshuai found that Wu Suowei had a high fever and was burning up. He took great care of him. Meanwhile, back home, Chi Cheng kept thinking about the moment he kissed Wu Suowei, his mind filled with conflicting emotions.

Episode 5 Recap

When Yue Yue accompanied Chi Cheng to register their profiles together, Chi Cheng’s parents were very warm and welcoming upon meeting her. Yue Yue, being experienced, skillfully tried to win their favor, believing she had easily won over Chi Cheng’s family and would soon be living a wealthy life. However, after they left, Chi Cheng became distant and indifferent, even asking someone else to send Yue Yue home, leaving her deeply disappointed. Chi Cheng’s mind was entirely on Wu Suowei.

Since Wu Suowei kept rejecting him, Chi Cheng consulted those around him for advice on what approach he should take. People around him speculated that either Wu Suowei was too pure or had something to hide, which made him afraid to be with Chi Cheng. Guo Chengyu, after being blocked by Jiang Xiaoshuai, wasn’t discouraged. Instead, he used the opportunity of picking up medicine to have his subordinate deliver desserts to Jiang Xiaoshuai.

Jiang Xiaoshuai, not seeing Guo Chengyu himself, actually felt a bit disappointed and asked for the dessert to be taken away. But when he heard it would just be thrown out, he hesitated, unwilling to waste something from Guo Chengyu. Ever since the forced kiss, Wu Suowei had avoided seeing Chi Cheng. With no other choice, Chi Cheng pestered Jiang Xiaoshuai, pressuring him to reveal Wu Suowei’s whereabouts. Helpless, Jiang Xiaoshuai gave Chi Cheng the address to Wu Suowei’s home.

Upon arriving, Chi Cheng learned from Wu Suowei’s mother that he was still sick. At that moment, Wu Suowei happened to be watching an educational video. When Chi Cheng arrived unexpectedly, he was so startled he threw his phone onto the bed—only for Chi Cheng to notice. Chi Cheng tried to make a move, but luckily Wu Suowei’s mother called them for dinner just in time, defusing the situation.

While staying at Wu Suowei’s home, Chi Cheng learned more about Wu Suowei’s difficult background. During dinner, he showed great warmth toward Wu Suowei’s mother, who was very pleased with him. Wu Suowei also began to view Chi Cheng differently and more favorably. Since it was already late, Wu Suowei’s mother invited Chi Cheng to stay the night. Later, Wu Suowei returned to the basketball court and played basketball with Chi Cheng.

During the game, the two behaved flirtatiously with each other. During a break, Yue Yue called Chi Cheng. Wu Suowei, seeing it was her, deliberately caused a scene nearby to prevent Chi Cheng from going on a date with her. Chi Cheng thought Wu Suowei was jealous and actually turned Yue Yue down, instead going with Wu Suowei to eat spicy hot pot.

Normally, Chi Cheng wouldn’t eat from roadside stalls, but since Wu Suowei wanted to go, he didn’t object—even eating chili peppers he usually avoided under Wu Suowei’s coaxing. Watching Chi Cheng eat spicy hot pot, Wu Suowei suddenly recalled the reason Yue Yue broke up with him—saying he was poor and always looked sloppy. Yet the proud and pampered Chi Cheng was now willing to eat street food with him, which moved Wu Suowei deeply.

Because of the heat, and perhaps to break the awkwardness, Wu Suowei lifted his shirt a little to cool off. Seeing Wu Suowei act so bold and revealing, Chi Cheng became jealous and forcefully pulled him into the car to cool down, even stealing another kiss. Wu Suowei originally thought this would drive Chi Cheng away, causing him to return to Yue Yue, but to his surprise, Chi Cheng suggested bringing Wu Suowei home to live with him.

Wu Suowei refused, wanting Chi Cheng to break up with Yue Yue first. But Yue Yue had her own reasons and wasn’t ready to break up. Thinking Chi Cheng was trying to keep both of them, Wu Suowei stormed out of the car and ran off in the pouring rain. Guo Chengyu had someone look into Wu Suowei’s background and found out that Yue Yue had been Wu Suowei’s girlfriend for three years.

From Guo Chengyu’s perspective, Wu Suowei was now fighting his ex-girlfriend over a man, which made him suspect Wu Suowei had ulterior motives. Guo Chengyu’s own investigation revealed he had opened his clinic in this city just to escape the heartbreak of a previous relationship. When Yue Yue went to the basketball court to look for Chi Cheng, Wu Suowei saw her. In an effort to sabotage them, he acted gloomy that night, even pretending to smoke, and went to find Chi Cheng—only to be forcefully taken home by him.

Episode 6 Recap

Wu Suowei arrived at Chi Cheng’s place and found it uncomfortably humid and hot because Chi Cheng had specially adjusted the environment for raising snakes. Feeling uncomfortable, Wu Suowei went to the fridge to look for something cold to drink and was surprised to find the candies he had made stored inside. Seeing this made Wu Suowei smile with relief—just in time for Chi Cheng to walk in and catch the moment.

Worried that something might really happen between them, Wu Suowei wanted to leave, but Chi Cheng stopped him. During the confrontation, Chi Cheng tried to push further, but Wu Suowei warned him that if he crossed the line now, their relationship would become purely physical, and he would never love him again. Hearing this, Chi Cheng backed down.

That night, while Wu Suowei was sleeping, Chi Cheng gazed at him with deep affection, gently covered him with a blanket, and softly stroked him with care. Desire stirred again in Chi Cheng’s heart, but remembering Wu Suowei’s warning, he managed to restrain himself. The next day, Wu Suowei returned to the clinic.

Jiang Xiaoshuai, noticing he hadn’t come home the night before, greeted him with a teasing smile and shared the news he had dug up: Chi Cheng and Guo Chengyu were romantic rivals. Guo Chengyu had once stolen Chi Cheng’s boyfriend, which was why the two had been at odds ever since.

Wu Suowei became anxious upon hearing this, but Jiang Xiaoshuai reminded him that both Chi Cheng and Guo Chengyu were not to be trifled with—if Guo Chengyu ever turned against Wu Suowei, everything would be exposed. Still, Wu Suowei was already too deep to back out. Chi Cheng kept sending all kinds of health supplements to Wu Suowei’s mother. In return, she asked Wu Suowei to bring some corn to thank Chi Cheng.

Meanwhile, Guo Chengyu deliberately drove past Jiang Xiaoshuai’s clinic. Seeing him while watering the flowers, Jiang Xiaoshuai seized the opportunity to get closer to Guo Chengyu to help Wu Suowei gather intel. Wu Suowei also took the chance to find out that Chi Cheng’s job at the company wasn’t his own choice—it was forced on him by his father. Even the snakes Chi Cheng raised had been taken away by his father.

To get to the bottom of things, Wu Suowei sought out Chi Cheng’s assistant. Through their conversation, Wu Suowei learned that Chi Cheng’s involvement with Yue Yue wasn’t out of real affection. Feeling guilty, Wu Suowei went to explain things to Chi Cheng, who happened to be in a bad mood and drinking alone. Listening to Chi Cheng pour out his sorrows, their relationship deepened once again. Meanwhile, Yue Yue grew suspicious because Chi Cheng hadn’t been answering her calls.

She even began to suspect that Chi Cheng might have found another woman, which was why he had been avoiding her. Desperate to win Chi Cheng’s heart, she kept calling. The first time she called, Wu Suowei happened to see it and directly hung up. Yue Yue guessed the call was rejected by Chi Cheng’s new lover and called again, only to hear Wu Suowei’s voice.

She immediately assumed that Wu Suowei was deliberately sabotaging her and trying to ruin her chance at happiness. Wu Suowei told Jiang Xiaoshuai that Chi Cheng and Yue Yue couldn’t break up yet. Jiang Xiaoshuai was surprised, since he already knew their relationship was just for show—why couldn’t they end it?

Wu Suowei explained that Chi Cheng’s snakes were being held by his father, and Chi Cheng was only playing along with Yue Yue to please his father and get the snakes back. Wu Suowei wanted them to break up, and to do that, he needed to find the snakes. So he came up with a new plan: sabotage Yue Yue’s image in Chi Cheng’s eyes by making her appear to harm his snakes on purpose.

Episode 7 Recap

Chi Cheng was just returning home from Wu Suowei’s place when he received a call from Yue Yue. Hearing this, Wu Suowei couldn’t help but feel a little jealous. Yue Yue wanted to accompany Chi Cheng to visit his parents.

Although Chi Cheng had always followed Wu Suowei’s opinions, Wu Suowei, knowing that all of Chi Cheng’s snakes were still with his father, agreed to let Chi Cheng bring Yue Yue home in order to help him retrieve what rightfully belonged to him. After Chi Cheng left, Wu Suowei returned to his room and discovered that it had already been prepared for a long time.

It turned out that when Wu Suowei had once mentioned that he liked the smell of a certain cigarette, Chi Cheng had remembered and quietly prepared it for him. The next day, Chi Cheng brought Yue Yue to the banquet his parents had long prepared. Yue Yue did her best to behave well, hoping to gain the approval of Chi Cheng’s parents. However, during the meal she received a message that left her uneasy.

On the way back, she realized Chi Cheng’s sister didn’t have a favorable opinion of her. Learning that Chi Cheng had brought Yue Yue home to meet his parents, Wu Suowei was deeply upset. Just then, Guo Chengyu appeared. Due to his emotional turmoil, Wu Suowei let something slip, which Guo Chengyu caught and used to threaten him—asking Wu Suowei to help him get closer to Jiang Xiaoshuai.

For Wu Suowei’s sake, Jiang Xiaoshuai agreed to go out with Guo Chengyu. Because Jiang Xiaoshuai had been busy and unwell recently, Guo Chengyu took him to get a massage. Surprisingly, Jiang Xiaoshuai became interested in learning massage himself and tried practicing on Guo Chengyu. Due to the awkward angle, their faces suddenly came very close, leaving Jiang Xiaoshuai a bit embarrassed.

Chi Cheng once again approached the snake farm owner, asking him to buy Wu Suowei’s snake eggs at a high price, promising to cover the extra cost himself. But the snake farm owner didn’t dare accept Chi Cheng’s money, so the purchase could only be made at cost. This left the snake farm owner quite uncomfortable—he wouldn’t lose money on the deal, but he wouldn’t make any either.

With the approval of Chi Cheng’s mother, Yue Yue was finally allowed to stay overnight at the house. She dressed very seductively in hopes of attracting Chi Cheng’s attention, but he was completely uninterested. Meanwhile, Wu Suowei sold one of his snake eggs and made quite a bit of money. Since he had received a valuable gift from Chi Cheng, he kept thinking about how to return the favor.

After not seeing each other for a few days, Chi Cheng came to find Wu Suowei. Chi Cheng’s affectionate behavior still made Wu Suowei a bit uncomfortable, so he quickly gave Chi Cheng his gift to ease the tension. Though Wu Suowei’s gift wasn’t as extravagant, Chi Cheng still appreciated it. Chi Cheng told Wu Suowei that he would be going on a trip with Yue Yue for a few days, just to appease his family.

Wu Suowei agreed on the surface but felt jealous inside. To reassure him, Chi Cheng kept comforting Wu Suowei. Jiang Xiaoshuai suggested that once the snakes were found, Chi Cheng wouldn’t have to be with Yue Yue anymore, and Wu Suowei wouldn’t need to feel so distressed. However, thinking more practically, even if they found the snakes now, Chi Cheng’s father might just take them again.

If Chi Cheng could make his father happy by staying with Yue Yue and then reclaim the snakes, they wouldn’t be taken again in the future. Wu Suowei’s behavior made Jiang Xiaoshuai realize that his attitude had changed—his sabotage was no longer just about ruining Chi Cheng and Yue Yue, but came from a different kind of emotion toward Chi Cheng. Though Wu Suowei didn’t admit it, as he walked down the street and saw a brand that Chi Cheng liked, he couldn’t help but step inside for a look.

Episode 8 Recap

Late at night, Chi Cheng looked at the belt Wu Suowei had given him and sent him a message. When Wu Suowei received the message, he was still half-asleep and suddenly woke up in a panic, thinking Chi Cheng had discovered his intentions. He quickly called Chi Cheng, but Chi Cheng’s vague responses made Wu Suowei even more uneasy.

After chatting for a while, Wu Suowei finally picked up from Chi Cheng’s tone that he hadn’t grown suspicious, and he was finally able to relax. The next day, Chi Cheng went shopping for jewelry with Yue Yue. Yue Yue was excitedly buying all kinds of gold and silver accessories, while Chi Cheng appeared distracted and left the store. Seeing a punching dummy on the roadside reminded him once again of Wu Suowei.

Chi Cheng didn’t message Wu Suowei for six whole days and nights. Wu Suowei began to miss him but refused to admit it, instead mumbling to himself in complaint. Just as he turned over to sleep, Chi Cheng suddenly showed up and gave him a huge scare. The atmosphere instantly turned awkward, but Chi Cheng just lay down next to Wu Suowei and fell asleep. Watching the sleeping Chi Cheng, Wu Suowei was filled with emotion.

The next day, while they were eating out, Wu Suowei mentioned that he wanted to create artwork. At first, Chi Cheng thought he was joking, especially since Wu Suowei didn’t seem to have much artistic talent. But Wu Suowei remained optimistic, explaining how he came into contact with the art world and how he was trying to take a different path.

Although Chi Cheng wasn’t interested in Wu Suowei’s artistic pursuits, he was captivated by how Wu Suowei passionately described his ideals—every word and movement was filled with a unique charm. Chi Cheng ended up completely absorbed, not even hearing what Wu Suowei was saying. Before they parted, Chi Cheng handed Wu Suowei a bank card and told him to use the money to start his business. After receiving the money, Wu Suowei once again approached the snake farm owner.

At first, the owner was hesitant to sell snakes to Wu Suowei. But after Wu Suowei explained, the owner assumed he was just a rich fool and was eager to keep selling to him. Chi Cheng’s mother called Yue Yue over to ask about her progress with Chi Cheng and even proposed that the two hold a wedding. Yue Yue was overjoyed and eagerly tried to please Chi Cheng’s mother.

Since Wu Suowei was preparing to enter the art industry, Chi Cheng used his connections to introduce him to many people in the field. Thanks to Chi Cheng’s influence, everyone believed Wu Suowei was highly capable and vied to please him. After a few drinks, Wu Suowei pretended to be drunk and, while Chi Cheng was distracted, quietly slipped a drug packet under the tongue of Chi Cheng’s snake.

Yue Yue came to Chi Cheng’s home looking for him but found he wasn’t there. Seizing the opportunity, she secretly fed medicine to his snake, intending to poison it. Later, Chi Cheng discovered a packet of rodenticide beneath the snake and realized that while short-term exposure would only upset the snake’s stomach, long-term use would be harmful. His first suspicion was Yue Yue. Wu Suowei came to Chi Cheng’s house and observed from outside.

He noticed someone sneaking into the house, trying to take the snake. Realizing someone was trying to harm Chi Cheng’s snake, Wu Suowei followed them despite the danger. He stepped in to protect the snake but couldn’t overpower the intruder and ended up angering him. At the critical moment, Chi Cheng appeared and caught all the troublemakers. From the man’s confession, Chi Cheng learned that Yue Yue was the one who sent them.

Since Wu Suowei had been injured while protecting the snake, Chi Cheng took meticulous care of him. Chi Cheng also realized that the whole incident had started with the rodenticide Wu Suowei had placed under the snake earlier.

Episode 9 Recap

Since Chi Cheng's snake was extremely valuable and required professional caretakers to raise it at the appropriate temperature, and the people sent by Chi Cheng's father knew nothing about snakes, they decided to arrange for the snake to be transported out. That night, Chi Cheng gave up on Yue Yue and returned to sleep with Wu Suowei. At the moment they went to bed, Wu Suowei deliberately expressed how much he liked Chi Cheng, which deeply moved Chi Cheng.

This also marked the official announcement of their relationship, and Chi Cheng excitedly held Wu Suowei as they slept. Just as they were about to enjoy a sweet night's sleep, Chi Cheng suddenly received a call. He had already arranged for surveillance at the base and was notified immediately when suspicious vehicles were spotted entering. Without hesitation, Chi Cheng rushed to the scene, casting a loving glance at Wu Suowei before leaving.

Because the snake had always been in his father's possession, Chi Cheng had never dared to openly express his preferences, using Yue Yue to placate his parents. Once he secured the snake, he would no longer be under their control and planned to publicly acknowledge his relationship with Wu Suowei. Pretending to be asleep, Wu Suowei grew puzzled when he saw Chi Cheng leave, wondering where he was going so late at night.

At that moment, someone also called Wu Suowei and informed him about the suspicious vehicles, prompting him to head toward the truck as well. Chi Cheng arrived at the scene, where Guo Chengyu had also just shown up. The two men led their respective groups in a fight against the guards protecting the snake. When Wu Suowei arrived, he was shocked to find both Chi Cheng and Guo Chengyu there.

After dealing with the guards, Chi Cheng and Guo Chengyu began fighting each other, both determined to seize the snake. Meanwhile, Wu Suowei took advantage of the chaos and quietly attempted to steal the snake. However, during the earlier scuffle between Chi Cheng and Guo Chengyu, one of the snake's crates had been knocked over, allowing the snake to slip out unnoticed. During the struggle to capture the snake, Wu Suowei ended up entangled by Chi Cheng’s giant yellow python.

Seeing this, Chi Cheng grew extremely worried and immediately rushed to save him. However, the python coiled tightly around Wu Suowei’s neck and refused to let go. Jiang Xiaoshuai, deeply concerned for Wu Suowei’s safety, urged Chi Cheng to kill the snake to free him. After a moment of hesitation, Chi Cheng ultimately chose Wu Suowei and ended the life of the python he had painstakingly raised. Everyone rushed Wu Suowei to the hospital.

Though relieved, Chi Cheng couldn’t help feeling some regret over losing his prized python. Guo Chengyu wanted to comfort him but didn’t know what to say. After emergency treatment, the doctors confirmed that Wu Suowei was out of danger but needed to remain under observation.

Jiang Xiaoshuai, still worried about Wu Suowei, wanted to check on him but was stopped by Guo Chengyu, who insisted on giving Chi Cheng and Wu Suowei some private time and forcibly dragged Jiang Xiaoshuai away. Chi Cheng stayed by Wu Suowei’s side at the hospital, but Wu Suowei remained unconscious. Meanwhile, Chi Cheng sent a warning to Yue Yue, making it clear their relationship was over for good.

After being rejected by Chi Cheng, Yue Yue refused to give up her chance to marry into wealth and went to cry to Chi Cheng’s mother. Later, Chi Cheng’s father visited the hospital and, in an attempt to keep Yue Yue in the picture, told Chi Cheng he could continue raising snakes and wouldn’t have to return to the family business. However, Chi Cheng refused the offer, insisting on breaking up with Yue Yue.

Meanwhile, Wu Suowei guessed that Chi Cheng and Yue Yue had already split and began planning a way to expose Yue Yue’s true nature to Chi Cheng’s mother. From Chi Cheng’s assistant, Gangzi, Wu Suowei learned that Yue Yue was still harassing Chi Cheng. He then gave Gangzi a bank card to use as bait to reveal Yue Yue’s true colors.

Sure enough, when Yue Yue received the card, she didn’t refuse—instead, she became smug and even more determined to exploit her connection with Chi Cheng’s mother. After getting the card, Yue Yue went on a luxury shopping spree. Gangzi deliberately brought Chi Cheng’s sister to the same mall where Yue Yue was spending extravagantly. Through Chi Cheng’s sister, all of Yue Yue’s shopping records were presented to Chi Cheng’s mother, finally exposing her true nature.

Episode 10 Recap

Jiang Xiaoshuai was still brooding alone when Wu Suowei suddenly showed up driving his car to find him. Wu Suowei took Jiang Xiaoshuai out for a drive, and Jiang Xiaoshuai took the chance to ask how Wu Suowei felt about Chi Cheng—whether the two of them would end up together. At first, Wu Suowei flatly denied it, insisting that he had a normal sexual orientation and liked women, and would never marry a man.

But in the end, he admitted the truth—he was afraid that if he got together with Chi Cheng, he would end up being the one on the receiving end. Wu Suowei’s creative agency officially opened, and Chi Cheng used his connections to help Wu Suowei gain publicity. On the day of the grand opening, Yue Yue arrived at the company and saw Wu Suowei dressed sharply and looking successful.

Her attitude instantly changed from looking down on him to wanting to get back together. However, Wu Suowei no longer had any feelings for her and calmly admitted to his relationship with Chi Cheng. Yue Yue was stunned and couldn't believe that Wu Suowei was now with another man. In a fit of anger, she left. That night, during the celebration, Wu Suowei drank heavily and was clearly upset.

Chi Cheng approached him out of concern, but Wu Suowei said there was no longer any reason for the two of them to be together. As it turned out, Wu Suowei had fallen for Chi Cheng, but his original reason for getting close to Chi Cheng was to sabotage his relationship with Yue Yue. Now that Chi Cheng and Yue Yue were no longer together, Wu Suowei didn't know what justification he had left to stay with Chi Cheng.

Wu Suowei, now running his own company, had become busy with work. Meanwhile, Jiang Xiaoshuai came to visit him and started showing concern about Wu Suowei’s love life. Since Chi Cheng had been on a business trip and hadn’t messaged Wu Suowei, Wu Suowei didn’t want to be too forward. Wu Suowei then asked Jiang Xiaoshuai whether there had been any progress between him and Guo Chengyu.

At the mention of Guo Chengyu’s name, Jiang Xiaoshuai looked disappointed, as Guo Chengyu hadn’t reached out to him in quite a while. Chi Cheng secretly came back to see Wu Suowei and happened to walk in while Wu Suowei was doing online research. Chi Cheng saw Wu Suowei’s chat with Jiang Xiaoshuai, and because the conversation contained some sensitive topics, Chi Cheng got very jealous and forcefully kissed Wu Suowei.

At that moment, Wu Suowei was completely overwhelmed by Chi Cheng, and the two became physically entangled. That night, Chi Cheng drove Wu Suowei back home. Jiang Xiaoshuai, who had been listening to music, didn’t realize Wu Suowei had returned and was still wondering why he hadn’t come home or replied to his messages. Just as Wu Suowei was getting ready to shower, Chi Cheng silently followed him into the bathroom and forced himself on him.

Jiang Xiaoshuai, thinking Wu Suowei still hadn’t come back, suddenly heard sounds from the bathroom, opened the door, and saw Wu Suowei and Chi Cheng showering together. The next day, Jiang Xiaoshuai deliberately teased Wu Suowei and found out from him that nothing substantial had happened between them the night before. Wu Suowei was still struggling to accept the nature of their relationship. He also felt guilty and occasionally trembled when facing Chi Cheng.

Wu Suowei drove home to visit his mother. When his mother saw that he had bought a car and seemed to be doing well in his career, she was very happy. Wu Suowei saw some loquats his mother had picked and decided to take them with him, as she couldn’t eat them due to her illness.

At first, his mother was reluctant to let him take them, but when she heard that he wanted to bring some for Chi Cheng, she immediately brought out a box. Knowing that Wu Suowei still had psychological barriers, Chi Cheng reached out to Jiang Xiaoshuai and asked him to help talk Wu Suowei through it. Jiang Xiaoshuai had no choice but to pretend to be drunk and talk to Wu Suowei about the situation.

Episode 11 Recap

Jiang Xiaoshuai deeply missed Guo Chengyu, but when Guo Chengyu arrived, Jiang Xiaoshuai still acted cold and indifferent. As the two were talking, a man suddenly rushed in holding a woman who had attempted suicide. The woman, heartbroken from a failed relationship, had slit her wrists, intending to end her life. Jiang Xiaoshuai performed emergency treatment on her, but she remained unconscious.

Worried she might do something foolish again upon waking, Jiang Xiaoshuai decided to stay by her side, and Guo Chengyu stayed as well. Meanwhile, Wu Suowei was busy at work when Jiang Xiaoshuai suddenly received news that Chi Cheng's ex-boyfriend had returned to the country—the very one who had been seduced away by Guo Chengyu.

Jiang Xiaoshuai believed that once that man returned, Chi Cheng would definitely go back to him, and congratulated Wu Suowei on finally being free from Chi Cheng’s entanglement. Wu Suowei pretended to be happy in front of Jiang Xiaoshuai but was actually feeling quite lost inside. That night, when Chi Cheng didn’t reply to his messages, Wu Suowei grew so angry that he started cursing him.

The next day, Wu Suowei couldn't take it anymore and went to look for Chi Cheng, only to find that Chi Cheng had already moved out of his previous residence. Wu Suowei cursed him again in frustration. Feeling disheartened, Wu Suowei went to Jiang Xiaoshuai, who, seeing his expression, deliberately teased him. Jiang Xiaoshuai even said he wanted to take Wu Suowei out to celebrate and intentionally mentioned the sweet time Chi Cheng might be having with his ex-boyfriend.

That night, Wu Suowei lay in bed alone, tormented by memories of the promises Chi Cheng had made to him. He stared at his watch—Chi Cheng’s ex-boyfriend was due to arrive back in the country in just one hour. In Wu Suowei’s mind, Chi Cheng’s silence could only mean he had chosen to be with his ex. Unable to sleep, Wu Suowei walked alone to the courtyard and sat there in boredom.

Still unable to calm down, Wu Suowei decided to go find Chi Cheng. Just as he was heading out, he ran into Chi Cheng—turns out everything had been a performance staged by Chi Cheng to help Wu Suowei overcome the obstacles in his heart. The moment Wu Suowei saw Chi Cheng, he could no longer suppress his emotions. He kissed him forcefully and cried while pouring out his grievances.

Seeing Wu Suowei's reaction, Chi Cheng was very satisfied and pleased with how Jiang Xiaoshuai had handled things. Since Wu Suowei had now cleared the demons from his heart, Chi Cheng suggested they go and register their relationship. Just as the two were caught up in an intimate moment, Chi Cheng’s father called, asking him to come home immediately.

Looking at the time on his watch, Chi Cheng mistakenly thought his ex-boyfriend had returned, and only relaxed once he confirmed it was truly his father. On Guo Chengyu’s side, after Chi Cheng deliberately scared Jiang Xiaoshuai in order to be with Wu Suowei, Guo Chengyu decided to take revenge and prevent Chi Cheng and Wu Suowei from being together so easily.

Under the pretense of an investment meeting, Guo Chengyu invited Wu Suowei to a bar where he had gathered a group of men with similar preferences. It turned out Guo Chengyu had purposely taken Wu Suowei to a bar frequented by men like Chi Cheng. Wu Suowei learned that Chi Cheng used to come to this bar often and angrily stormed out.

After Wu Suowei left, Guo Chengyu handed a wad of cash to the man who had just slandered Chi Cheng—it had all been a setup orchestrated by Guo Chengyu. Fuming, Wu Suowei went to Jiang Xiaoshuai and told him everything he had learned at the bar. When Jiang Xiaoshuai realized that Chi Cheng and Wu Suowei hadn't actually made any real progress, he became flustered and even hid at Guo Chengyu’s house.

When Chi Cheng later tried to reach out, Jiang Xiaoshuai ignored him, so Chi Cheng had to go to the office to find him. Unexpectedly, Wu Suowei had changed his attitude and even brought up the incident with the male model. He kicked Chi Cheng out and returned to work. Guo Chengyu’s assistant then deliberately sent the wrong message—telling Wu Suowei that Chi Cheng was meeting someone at a club, while informing Chi Cheng it was about an investment meeting. Believing Chi Cheng was once again going to the club to meet male models, Wu Suowei rushed over and publicly declared his claim over Chi Cheng.

Episode 12 Recap

Under the enchanting lights, the atmosphere was incredibly ambiguous. To keep Wu Suowei from getting nervous, Chi Cheng deliberately covered Wu Suowei’s eyes. Wu Suowei finally mustered the courage to break through his psychological barrier and was very compliant with Chi Cheng. The two tangled together, their words and breaths filling the entire room with the scent of hormones.

By early the next morning, when Wu Suowei slowly woke up, Chi Cheng was already dressed, silently sitting by the bedside, planting a kiss on Wu Suowei. Chi Cheng had already made breakfast. When Wu Suowei walked out a bit later, his walking posture was very odd, but when he saw Chi Cheng, he pretended as if nothing had happened.

However, when he sat down to eat, because of how wild things got the previous night, Wu Suowei couldn’t even sit still. Wu Suowei wanted to call Jiang Xiaoshuai for help, but how could he explain it? Jiang Xiaoshuai wasn’t answering his phone either, so Wu Suowei went to the hospital to find him. The hospital staff told Wu Suowei that Jiang Xiaoshuai hadn’t been coming to work recently, only showing up in the middle of the night.

In order to wait for Jiang Xiaoshuai, Wu Suowei stayed and waited all the way until midnight. Jiang Xiaoshuai had been living at Guo Chengyu’s place. The two were enjoying sweet times together. That night, Jiang Xiaoshuai once again sneaked into the hospital and found the door already open. He thought a thief had broken in. While searching with a weapon, he unexpectedly found Wu Suowei and Chi Cheng on a bed together.

Jiang Xiaoshuai was extremely embarrassed and turned to leave immediately, while Wu Suowei felt ashamed to face him again after being seen like that. Chi Cheng, on the other hand, was very jealous, because Wu Suowei had waited for Jiang Xiaoshuai in the middle of the night. Jiang Xiaoshuai thought it was Guo Chengyu who had known everything and deliberately let him see it, so he went to confront Guo Chengyu.

However, Guo Chengyu’s outfit stirred Jiang Xiaoshuai’s heart, and on top of that, Guo Chengyu was wearing a perfume that Jiang Xiaoshuai liked very much. The scent accidentally sprayed out, and under the influence of the perfume, the two of them got entangled as well. The next morning, Jiang Xiaoshuai could hardly believe what had happened the night before. Chi Cheng went to Wu Suowei’s house to visit Ha'er’s mother and found that Wu Suowei’s mother seemed unwell at home.

He took her to the hospital. Since Wu Suowei and Chi Cheng were now together, Jiang Xiaoshuai left Guo Chengyu’s place and prepared to return to the hospital to officially resume work. By accident, Jiang Xiaoshuai told Wu Suowei about Chi Cheng’s threats. Wu Suowei learned that he had been manipulated but didn’t blame Jiang Xiaoshuai, because he knew Chi Cheng had strong backing, and Wu Suowei had no choice.

Wu Suowei decided to take this opportunity to reveal to Chi Cheng his original motive for getting close to him. Since both of them had made mistakes, it was a good chance to open up. Suddenly, Wu Suowei asked if Jiang Xiaoshuai had ever shared a bed with Guo Chengyu during the time he stayed there. After spending time together, Jiang Xiaoshuai realized that Guo Chengyu actually liked Chi Cheng.

Jiang Xiaoshuai began to analyze the relationship between Chi Cheng and Guo Chengyu to Wu Suowei, even concluding that Chi Cheng might also like Guo Chengyu. But Wu Suowei didn’t believe it. Chi Cheng took Wu Suowei’s mother to the hospital and then thoughtfully brought her home. He even praised Wu Suowei in front of her. Wu Suowei’s mother mentioned Wu Suowei’s love life to Chi Cheng.

Although Wu Suowei, in order not to make his mother sad, claimed that he and his partner didn’t get along, his mother believed the girl had probably looked down on their poor family. After hearing about Wu Suowei’s sad past, Chi Cheng quietly left. Meanwhile, Wu Suowei was at home practicing how to confess his feelings to Chi Cheng, imagining what might happen once he came clean. He kept talking to himself and rehearsing.

After everything was ready, he was unexpectedly conquered by the delicious food Chi Cheng brought back. After eating, just as Wu Suowei was building up the mood, Chi Cheng gave him a gift, leaving Wu Suowei no chance to open up. After trying the gift, Wu Suowei took the opportunity to finally be honest, only to find that Chi Cheng didn’t follow the script, and he no longer knew how to speak his truth.

Episode 13 Recap

Wu Suowei wanted to confess the truth from back then to Chi Cheng, but Chi Cheng misunderstood. Chi Cheng thought that Wu Suowei had a girlfriend for three years who broke up with him because he was poor, and now Wu Suowei was trying to climb upward by stepping on Chi Cheng’s shoulders. After hearing Chi Cheng’s words, Wu Suowei realized the misunderstanding but couldn’t bring himself to explain further. So he let the misunderstanding continue.

The next day, Wu Suowei told Jiang Xiaoshuai what had happened. While they were talking, Chi Cheng suddenly called and, in a rather coquettish tone, asked Wu Suowei to top up his phone balance, saying all the money at home was now managed by Wu Suowei. That night, Wu Suowei bought a pair of pants for Chi Cheng. The pants were a bit short, but since they were from Wu Suowei, Chi Cheng decided to make do.

At the same time, Wu Suowei got jealous over Chi Cheng’s ex-boyfriend, which in turn aroused Chi Cheng’s desire. Wu Suowei sensed the situation wasn’t going in a good direction and tried to use work as an excuse to escape, but Chi Cheng stopped him. After a night of madness, Wu Suowei went to Jiang Xiaoshuai to vent.

At the time, Jiang Xiaoshuai was volunteering at a free clinic, and Guo Chengyu was quietly observing from the side the entire time. Chi Cheng and Wu Suowei were displaying their affection publicly, which made Jiang Xiaoshuai feel a little jealous. Just then, Guo Chengyu happened to pass by and saw everything. Later, Guo Chengyu approached Jiang Xiaoshuai again, but Jiang Xiaoshuai responded coldly, assuming Guo Chengyu was there with Chi Cheng.

Guo Chengyu realized Jiang Xiaoshuai suspected he liked Chi Cheng. While Guo Chengyu was trying to explain, Jiang Xiaoshuai suddenly received a message on his phone, and his demeanor changed abruptly. He ignored Guo Chengyu and went alone to a bar to drink. Guo Chengyu silently followed behind, concerned. No one knew how many drinks Jiang Xiaoshuai had had before Guo Chengyu stepped in to stop him. Jiang Xiaoshuai collapsed into Guo Chengyu’s arms and cried bitterly.

Because Jiang Xiaoshuai was drunk, Guo Chengyu brought him home and took careful care of him. The next morning, when Jiang Xiaoshuai woke up with a pounding headache, he was slightly embarrassed as he recalled his drunken behavior. Guo Chengyu acted like nothing had happened and even made breakfast for him. While eating, Jiang Xiaoshuai asked Guo Chengyu what happened after he got drunk. Guo Chengyu didn’t say much and just teased him on purpose.

Jiang Xiaoshuai, hearing this, felt even more embarrassed. In an attempt to feel the vibe of being in love, Wu Suowei took Chi Cheng shopping. They came across a pair of couple’s watches that were quite magical—when the hands of one watch moved, the other’s would move along with it. Wu Suowei found it amusing but didn’t buy them because of the price. He just looked and left with Chi Cheng. However, Chi Cheng had noticed Wu Suowei’s fondness.

After they left, Chi Cheng pretended to go to the bathroom. Wu Suowei guessed that Chi Cheng went back to buy the watches and happily waited, but when Chi Cheng returned empty-handed, Wu Suowei was a bit disappointed. Just as they were about to leave, Chi Cheng suddenly put the watch on Wu Suowei’s wrist. Wu Suowei and Chi Cheng went swimming together, playfully splashing around in the pool.

Seizing the moment when Chi Cheng wasn’t looking, Wu Suowei dove underwater. When Chi Cheng turned and couldn’t see Wu Suowei, he got worried and dove in too. The two kissed passionately underwater. On the way home, Wu Suowei received a call and lied that there was an emergency at work, then hurried off. Chi Cheng, bored, asked Gangzi to play video games with him.

Because Wu Suowei had been leaving early and returning late lately, Chi Cheng began to feel suspicious, especially since Wu Suowei had been answering calls behind his back. Chi Cheng started thinking Wu Suowei might be seeing someone else, so he took Gangzi to the company to find out the truth. Once there, he realized Wu Suowei had been secretly preparing a surprise for him.

Episode 14 Recap

On New Year's Eve, Aunt Meili personally brought couplets to Jiang Xiaoshuai. Wu Suowei was also at home celebrating the holiday with his mother. When he saw his mother’s new clothes, he was confused. After some probing, he found out that Chi Cheng had secretly bought them for his mother. Wu Suowei’s mother even encouraged him to go visit Chi Cheng’s parents.

On Chi Cheng’s side, he was also spending the Spring Festival with his family, but he didn’t seem particularly happy—it was just going through the motions with them. Feeling it was too dull, Chi Cheng ended up going to Wu Suowei’s house. Wu Suowei was making dumplings for New Year’s Eve dinner with his mother when Chi Cheng suddenly arrived. Wu Suowei’s mother was very pleased, but Wu Suowei was quite surprised.

After dinner, Chi Cheng and Wu Suowei stood on the balcony setting off firecrackers. Countless fireworks lit up the sky, and in that romantic atmosphere, the two couldn’t help but kiss. Originally, Jiang Xiaoshuai was feeling lonely at home by himself, but Guo Chengyu’s sudden arrival instantly lifted his spirits. Guo Chengyu had specially prepared a lavish dinner for Jiang Xiaoshuai. The two sat together, watching TV, chatting, and enjoying their meal.

At that moment, Guo Chengyu’s phone kept ringing—someone was calling—but Guo Chengyu didn’t answer. Jiang Xiaoshuai understood it might be something urgent and considerately told Guo Chengyu to take care of it. After Guo Chengyu left, Jiang Xiaoshuai still felt a little down. Just when he was feeling disappointed, Guo Chengyu suddenly returned—it turned out to be another surprise from him. The two joyfully spent New Year’s Eve together.

When Jiang Xiaoshuai returned to work, he suddenly received a video—it was from his ex-boyfriend, who was also once his teacher. The two had been deeply in love, but after a rejection, Jiang Xiaoshuai got drunk to drown his sorrows and had his photo taken. Because of that incident, his ex refused to be with him anymore and even spread the inappropriate photos taken during the drinking episode all over the school, which dealt a heavy blow to Jiang Xiaoshuai.

Wu Suowei happened to come looking for Jiang Xiaoshuai and saw the video too. After watching it, Wu Suowei was furious and tried to comfort the emotionally distressed Jiang Xiaoshuai. Just then, his ex-boyfriend suddenly appeared, begging for forgiveness and to be let go. It turned out all those men that night were arranged by the ex, just to deliberately frame Jiang Xiaoshuai. Behind all this, it was Guo Chengyu who helped.

On the night Jiang Xiaoshuai got drunk, Guo Chengyu discovered an old secret on his phone and learned about the grievances he had suffered, so he helped him get revenge. Jiang Xiaoshuai was deeply moved by what Guo Chengyu had done, and their relationship grew stronger. Guo Chengyu took Jiang Xiaoshuai out to dinner, where they unexpectedly ran into Wang Shuo. Wang Shuo was thrilled to see Guo Chengyu, but Guo Chengyu wasn’t very enthusiastic.

Chi Cheng and Wu Suowei were idly browsing their phones at home when Chi Cheng suddenly saw a photo in Guo Chengyu’s Moments—Guo Chengyu and Wang Shuo together—which slightly threw him off emotionally. To avoid letting Wu Suowei notice, Chi Cheng poured himself a glass of water to steady himself. At that moment, Guo Chengyu also sent a message, telling Chi Cheng that Wang Shuo had returned specifically for him.

Meanwhile, Jiang Xiaoshuai sent Wu Suowei the same photo of Guo Chengyu and Wang Shuo. Wu Suowei got a little jealous and deliberately used a sarcastic tone when speaking to Chi Cheng. Chi Cheng promised Wu Suowei that he would no longer be involved with Wang Shuo, nor give him any more chances. Later, Chi Cheng, Guo Chengyu, and Wang Shuo drank together.

Chi Cheng and Guo Chengyu both pretended to be nonchalant, but Wang Shuo had a knowing smirk on his face, as if he saw through everything. After drinking, the three went their separate ways. However, Guo Chengyu couldn't resist turning back, wanting to look for Wang Shuo.

Episode 15 Recap

Chi Cheng, Guo Chengyu, and Wang Shuo went off in different directions. After walking a while, Chi Cheng couldn’t help but turn around and saw that Wang Shuo was still following behind him. No longer able to suppress his anger, he grabbed Wang Shuo by the neck and demanded to know why he had left. Wang Shuo deliberately kept pestering him, wanting to keep entangling with Chi Cheng.

At that moment, one of Chi Cheng’s friends suddenly appeared and knocked Wang Shuo unconscious, helping Chi Cheng out of the situation. When Chi Cheng returned home, he found that Wu Suowei had blown many snake-shaped sugar figures for him. Although he expressed his thanks verbally, it was obvious that Chi Cheng was absent-minded. The next day, Chi Cheng went to find Jiang Xiaoshuai, who told him that Wang Shuo had been hospitalized. This news surprised Chi Cheng.

I suggested Wu Suowei go visit Wang Shuo at the hospital. At first, Wu Suowei didn’t want to go, but after Jiang Xiaoshuai’s persuasion, even though Wu Suowei still refused verbally, he went to the hospital alone afterward. Wu Suowei saw that Wang Shuo was full of energy and very healthy in the hospital. As he turned around to leave in a hurry, he bumped into a man who was collecting his medicine.

After leaving the hospital, Wu Suowei happened to see Chi Cheng’s car parked at the hospital entrance, so he called to ask about it. Chi Cheng, however, said he was with a client, which made Wu Suowei feel very upset, because he suspected Chi Cheng was with Jiang Xiaoshuai. In truth, Chi Cheng was taking Wu Suowei’s mother to the hospital for treatment and didn’t want Wu Suowei to know, so he lied.

The examination revealed that Wu Suowei’s mother had a serious illness, which deeply pained Chi Cheng. Not knowing how to explain it to Wu Suowei and feeling heartbroken, Chi Cheng went to a bar and got drunk before coming home. Although Wu Suowei complained with words, he still took care of Chi Cheng considerately. Later, Chi Cheng went to his rental room to pack up his things.

When he came out at night, Wang Shuo was there too—and he had brought the little sugar snake Chi Cheng had once made. Wu Suowei felt very upset and went to find Jiang Xiaoshuai to share his suspicions. I still believed there must be a misunderstanding—being sneaky was not in Chi Cheng’s character. If Chi Cheng liked Wang Shuo and wanted to be with him, he would act openly, not secretly.

Wu Suowei also began to think he might have misunderstood Chi Cheng and decided to go find him. Coincidentally, Chi Cheng was with Jiang Xiaoshuai—and at that very moment, Wu Suowei saw Jiang Xiaoshuai forcefully kiss Chi Cheng. Heartbroken, Wu Suowei chose to walk away. Wang Shuo came to Jiang Xiaoshuai’s home, claiming he wanted to stay the night. I was reluctant at first, but couldn’t resist Wang Shuo’s relentless pestering.

Jiang Xiaoshuai thought that if Wang Shuo stayed, then Chi Cheng would end up with Wu Suowei. So why not let Wang Shuo go disrupt them? Thus, Jiang Xiaoshuai agreed to let Wang Shuo stay. Early the next morning, Guo Chengyu came over. When Jiang Xiaoshuai saw that Wang Shuo was still there, he got a little angry and kicked Wang Shuo out. Afterward, Guo Chengyu kept complaining to Jiang Xiaoshuai.

Seeing Guo Chengyu acting jealous, Jiang Xiaoshuai was instead very pleased, and the two shared a passionate kiss. While Jiang Xiaoshuai was working at the hospital, Chi Cheng went there to ask him about Wu Suowei’s whereabouts. Jiang Xiaoshuai found it odd, since Wu Suowei had left early and he thought Wu Suowei was with Chi Cheng.

Chi Cheng also felt something was off and guessed Wu Suowei might be at the company, so he went to look for him there. When Wu Suowei saw Chi Cheng, his expression was cold. Chi Cheng suspected that Wu Suowei had probably seen him being forcibly kissed by Wang Shuo. He had no way to explain why he didn’t come home that night—because he was with Wu Suowei’s mother, who didn’t want her illness to be revealed to Wu Suowei. After hearing Chi Cheng’s strained explanation, Wu Suowei became even more convinced that Chi Cheng and Wang Shuo were involved with each other.

Episode 16 Recap

Wang Shuo went to the company to look for Wu Suowei, putting on a deliberately mocking attitude to belittle him. Wu Suowei refused to back down. Wang Shuo wrote down his home address and provocatively challenged Wu Suowei to come over. That night, while lying on the bed at home, Wu Suowei tried to subtly probe Chi Cheng about the closeness between him and Wang Shuo in the past.

With just a simple test, Wu Suowei confirmed that Chi Cheng and Wang Shuo must have been very sweet together in the past. Chi Cheng was afraid Wu Suowei would be upset and even promised he could kick Wang Shuo out if it became too much, but Wu Suowei appeared indifferent. The next day, Wu Suowei went to Wang Shuo’s home. Wang Shuo deliberately placed a computer containing old videos on the table for Wu Suowei to see.

At first, Wu Suowei knew Wang Shuo was pretending to be indifferent and continued watching. But as he saw the videos of Chi Cheng, Wang Shuo, and Guo Chengyu, he started to feel jealous, especially when he saw Chi Cheng say the most important person was Guo Chengyu—Wu Suowei became extremely tense. As he was about to leave, Wang Shuo’s older brother returned. Wu Suowei instantly recognized him as the person he bumped into at the hospital that day.

After seeing how good Wang Shuo’s brother was at boxing, Wu Suowei asked him to train him. Wu Suowei copied the videos and took them to Jiang Xiaoshuai for analysis. The two found it strange—if Wang Shuo really loved Chi Cheng as he claimed, why was he sleeping with Guo Chengyu? To find the real answer, the breakthrough point had to be Wang Shuo. Wu Suowei returned to Wang Shuo’s home.

Wang Shuo had initially planned to provoke him, but instead Wu Suowei was only there to train with Wang Shuo’s brother. Watching from the side, Wang Shuo actually got jealous. Even after Wu Suowei left, Wang Shuo complained to his brother, forbidding him from being with Wu Suowei. However, Wang Shuo’s brother had a very good impression of Wu Suowei. Not only did he refuse, but he also gave Wang Shuo a scolding.

After returning, Wu Suowei enthusiastically praised Wang Shuo’s brother in front of Jiang Xiaoshuai. Seeing Wu Suowei’s reaction, Jiang Xiaoshuai became worried that Wu Suowei was developing real feelings for Wang Shuo’s brother. He warned Wu Suowei not to do anything foolish, and also pointed out that Chi Cheng truly loved Wu Suowei and had sacrificed a lot for him.

That night, Chi Cheng noticed Wu Suowei chatting with another man and asked about it, but Wu Suowei deliberately avoided giving an answer. Chi Cheng had no choice but to message Wang Shuo, who saw an opportunity and deliberately exaggerated the emotional aspects of Wu Suowei and his brother being together. Later, when Wu Suowei and Wang Shuo’s brother were training together, Wang Shuo secretly recorded the video and sent it to Chi Cheng, who became very jealous.

He rushed to Wang Shuo’s home, carried Wu Suowei away, and even chained him up to prevent him from leaving freely. Being restrained, Wu Suowei deliberately provoked Chi Cheng by asking why he wasn’t with Guo Chengyu. Upon hearing this, Chi Cheng pounced on Wu Suowei like a hungry tiger. Wu Suowei obtained Wang Shuo’s medical record and discovered he had bipolar disorder. He went to Jiang Xiaoshuai to inquire about the symptoms.

They discussed that people with bipolar disorder are prone to extremes. Just as they were analyzing, Wang Shuo suddenly arrived, making Wu Suowei nervous. Wang Shuo was there to see Jiang Xiaoshuai, and the two acted very close. Seeing this, Wu Suowei got angry and left. Later, Wu Suowei found Wang Shuo’s brother, and they played basketball together on the court, which happened to be seen by the passing Chi Cheng—who once again became jealous.

Wu Suowei also saw Chi Cheng and Wang Shuo get into a car together and grew jealous himself. He sat alone on a bench, unmoving even as it rained. It was Wang Shuo’s brother who felt sorry for him and came with an umbrella to shield him from the rain.

Episode 17 Recap

The dejected Wang Shuo went to Jiang Xiaoshuai’s place. At first, Jiang Xiaoshuai wanted to turn him away when he saw him, but seeing Wang Shuo’s downcast expression, he couldn’t bring himself to say no and agreed to let him in. Chi Cheng was at the hospital with Wu Suowei’s mother. Since she firmly refused to let Wu Suowei know about her illness, Chi Cheng decided to stay and take care of her.

He called Wu Suowei to say he wouldn’t be coming home that night. This led to a misunderstanding—Wu Suowei wasn’t home either, but with Wang Shuo’s brother. Wu Suowei assumed Chi Cheng had gone back to Wang Shuo, and that their breakup was only a matter of time, leaving him feeling very disappointed. The next morning, Chi Cheng returned home and found that Wu Suowei wasn’t there.

He searched everywhere, a bit panicked, and just as he was about to call, Wu Suowei walked in. Chi Cheng angrily asked where he had been, and when he found out Wu Suowei had gone to Wang Shuo’s house, he became furious. The two argued, and in a fit of anger, Chi Cheng kicked Wu Suowei out. Wu Suowei left quietly, without asking for forgiveness, and the two parted ways due to the misunderstanding.

Wu Suowei quietly went to Jiang Xiaoshuai’s hospital. At first, Jiang Xiaoshuai thought Wu Suowei was joking when he said he had been kicked out, but seeing his somber mood, he realized it was true. Wu Suowei told him that Chi Cheng hadn’t come home all night, and assumed he had been with Wang Shuo. But Jiang Xiaoshuai clarified that he himself had been with Wang Shuo all night and Chi Cheng wasn’t involved.

Heartbroken, Wu Suowei returned home to seek comfort from his mother. When he got back, he noticed that she wasn’t feeling well and asked about it with concern. He also discovered that Chi Cheng had often come by to visit her. That night, Wu Suowei lay in bed thinking Chi Cheng would be anxious and message him, but nothing came.

Then he heard a noise from his mother’s room and rushed in, only to find her quietly enduring her illness, not wanting him to worry. The two lay on the bed together, reminiscing about happy childhood memories. Guo Chengyu returned to visit Jiang Xiaoshuai, who was very happy to see him. He asked about what happened back then between Guo Chengyu and Wang Shuo, and gave Guo Chengyu Wang Shuo’s medical report.

After seeing it, Guo Chengyu went to ask Wang Shuo about his condition and even teased him. In response, Wang Shuo revealed the truth about what had happened—that back then, the misunderstanding had been deliberately created by Wang Shuo. He had planned to sleep with Guo Chengyu and let Chi Cheng see it, because he suspected something was going on between Guo Chengyu and Chi Cheng.

That night, Wang Shuo went to find Chi Cheng, hoping to win his heart back. He even brought up their romantic past in an attempt to soften Chi Cheng’s heart. But no matter what Wang Shuo said, Chi Cheng didn’t waver and firmly refused to get back together. Wang Shuo had already broken his heart. Wu Suowei went to complain to Jiang Xiaoshuai, who patiently consoled and encouraged him.

The two also analyzed the situation: Wang Shuo had been back for six months—why hadn’t he shown up earlier? Why was he so interested in Wu Suowei’s name change? Through their discussion, they guessed that Wang Shuo had known about the name change all along but had kept quiet. Yue Yue once again came to Wu Suowei’s company, this time to discuss business as the company was about to undergo renovations.

During the meeting, she tried to seduce Wu Suowei and rekindle their relationship, but Wu Suowei firmly rejected her. Just as Wu Suowei was resolutely rejecting Yue Yue, Chi Cheng suddenly appeared. The misunderstanding between them was finally resolved, and the two got back together once more.

Episode 18 Recap

After seeing his brother return, Wang Shuo deliberately spoke to him in a sarcastic and mocking tone, upset that his brother was getting too close to Wu Suowei. But when his brother responded with indifference and coldness, Wang Shuo became even more furious and went straight to confront Wu Suowei, even trying to provoke him. However, Wu Suowei pretended nothing was wrong and didn’t take the bait.

Yue Yue came to Wu Suowei’s house again to visit his mother, claiming that everything before was just a misunderstanding and hoping to reconcile with Wu Suowei. She even tried to get Wu Suowei’s mother to help persuade him, but his mother felt very conflicted. For Guo Chengyu’s birthday, Chi Cheng, Wang Shuo, Wang Shuo’s brother, and others helped celebrate. Wang Shuo deliberately brought up events from ten years ago, trying to rekindle old feelings with Chi Cheng.

However, Chi Cheng didn’t take it seriously and kept avoiding him. Seeing Chi Cheng’s cold indifference, Wang Shuo realized he couldn’t win him back and broke down in tears. Wang Shuo’s brother, furious upon seeing this, splashed a glass of wine in Wang Shuo’s face. In his anger, Wang Shuo’s brother left his phone on the table without noticing, which gave Chi Cheng the chance to see the chat between him and Wu Suowei.

This sparked a physical fight among them, just as Wu Suowei arrived and saw everything, walking away in anger. Wu Suowei deliberately rewatched the video Wang Shuo had left behind and discovered that on the night Wang Shuo and Guo Chengyu had slept together, nothing had actually happened. Chi Cheng frantically searched for Wu Suowei, even going to his house.

Wu Suowei’s mother told Chi Cheng about Yue Yue’s recent visit and he finally realized that Wu Suowei’s ex-girlfriend was Yue Yue. He also began to suspect that Yue Yue had approached him with ulterior motives. At first, Chi Cheng tried to comfort himself by thinking it might just be someone with the same name. But after seeing the photos of Wu Suowei and Yue Yue together, along with Wu Suowei’s diary, even that last bit of comfort disappeared.

Wu Suowei also found out that Chi Cheng had looked through his diary and photos, and realized that it was time to come clean. Wu Suowei returned to the hospital. Chi Cheng still wanted to give him a chance to explain, but Wu Suowei, already full of misunderstandings toward Chi Cheng, Wang Shuo, and Guo Chengyu, responded first. He offered no explanation—only admitted that he had approached Chi Cheng with a purpose in mind from the beginning.

Out of spite, Chi Cheng said he would go to Wang Shuo, but Wu Suowei had already found evidence and sent it to him. It showed that nothing had happened between Wang Shuo and Guo Chengyu that night, meaning Wang Shuo hadn’t physically betrayed Chi Cheng, and there was still a chance for them. That night, Chi Cheng went to find Wang Shuo.

When Wang Shuo saw him, he thought Chi Cheng had already broken up with Wu Suowei and was coming back to him, and was overjoyed. But Chi Cheng was there to end things once and for all. He clearly told Wang Shuo that he no longer loved him. Upon hearing this, Wang Shuo burst into tears. Chi Cheng decisively got up and left.

Wang Shuo realized it was truly over—Chi Cheng had made it clear that the reason he no longer loved Wang Shuo wasn’t because of the betrayal, but because of the way Wang Shuo had coldly left him back then. Chi Cheng had waited for years, but never received an answer. Meanwhile, Wu Suowei was still grieving alone when he suddenly received a call from the hospital informing him about his mother’s condition.

Since Wu Suowei’s mother was listed as the emergency contact and the hospital had been unable to reach her, the doctor contacted Wu Suowei out of responsibility. Hearing this, he rushed out anxiously to look for his mother.

Episode 19 Recap

After learning about his mother’s illness, Wu Suowei broke down in tears in the hospital corridor, and Jiang Xiaoshuai kept comforting him. When they returned to the ward, Wu Suowei, not wanting his mother to be saddened, put on a calm front. While caring for her, he eventually fell asleep from exhaustion. At that moment, Chi Cheng also quietly came to the hospital to see Wu Suowei’s mother but did not enter the ward.

Wang Shuo’s older brother also came to the hospital to visit, and even contacted a good friend who was a doctor in the United States to help. When Wu Suowei learned that Wang Shuo’s older brother had found a specialist for him, he was deeply moved. Wang Shuo, feeling rejected and distanced by everyone, sat at home gloomily drinking. When he saw his brother return, he complained to him.

Seeing Wang Shuo’s continued despondence, his brother sat down to console him. After returning home, Chi Cheng saw the familiar scenes and was reminded of Wu Suowei and the happy times they once shared. Chi Cheng and Wu Suowei ran into each other in the elevator, and the atmosphere was extremely awkward. To avoid the awkwardness of riding together, Chi Cheng chose not to get on. That night, Guo Chengyu was at home practicing card games.

When Jiang Xiaoshuai returned home, he warmly hugged Guo Chengyu from behind. Guo Chengyu complained that he was often away, and Jiang Xiaoshuai explained that it was because Wu Suowei’s mother was ill, so he had been spending time with Wu Suowei to comfort him. Just then, Chi Cheng suddenly appeared. The moment he walked out, Jiang Xiaoshuai’s expression changed instantly, losing his earlier warmth. He even grew jealous and went upstairs, ignoring Guo Chengyu’s attempts to comfort him.

Helpless, Guo Chengyu stayed in the living room with Chi Cheng. Chi Cheng told Guo Chengyu about running into Wu Suowei, and Guo Chengyu advised him to talk things through to clear up the misunderstandings so they could continue their relationship. But Chi Cheng felt that unless Wu Suowei figured things out on his own, problems would arise again in the future.

The emotional toll had left Chi Cheng exhausted, so to lighten his mood, Guo Chengyu even played childhood games with him. To appease Jiang Xiaoshuai, Guo Chengyu specially cooked a lot of dishes and invited him over for a meal. But Jiang Xiaoshuai was still jealous of Chi Cheng, saying he would not come to Guo Chengyu’s home as long as Chi Cheng was there.

Guo Chengyu had no choice, as Chi Cheng was in low spirits and needed to stay at his place for support. In the end, Guo Chengyu tricked Jiang Xiaoshuai into coming over. Just as they were enjoying a sweet meal together, Chi Cheng suddenly appeared, ruining the warm atmosphere. Seeing him, Jiang Xiaoshuai became furious.

Chi Cheng deliberately provoked him, and in anger, Jiang Xiaoshuai left to find Wu Suowei, telling him that Chi Cheng was staying at Guo Chengyu’s place. Later at the hospital, Wu Suowei was carefully looking after his mother when he suddenly saw Chi Cheng arrive. Chi Cheng stood outside the door, looking in through the glass at Wu Suowei’s mother. After Wu Suowei left, Chi Cheng finally entered the ward.

Seeing Chi Cheng, Wu Suowei’s mother expressed concern for his and her son’s future, as she had sensed the relationship between them and believed that it would be hard for others to understand, and the road ahead would only get more difficult. When Wu Suowei returned again, Chi Cheng had already left. Knowing that her life was nearing its end, Wu Suowei’s mother did not want to remain in the hospital and wished to go home.

Wu Suowei could only agree and took her back. While caring for her at home, he discovered that she had quietly passed away. Unwilling to accept the truth, Wu Suowei continued speaking to her sadly, as if she had simply fallen asleep.

Episode 20 Recap

After Wu Suowei’s mother passed away, relatives and friends all came to pay their respects, and Chi Cheng also arrived. However, just as he reached the doorway, Chi Cheng remembered what Wu Suowei’s mother had said, worrying that the road ahead for the two of them would be very difficult. Not wanting Wu Suowei to have an unhappy future, Chi Cheng couldn’t muster the courage to go in and turned to leave.

Wang Shuo and his older brother also arrived, and Wang Shuo’s brother comforted Chi Cheng. Wu Suowei brought his mother’s photo back home, and the house was filled with memories of her everywhere. Chi Cheng came to Wu Suowei’s home to see him, but Wu Suowei was still deeply grief-stricken, even to the point of losing the will to live. Chi Cheng had intended to provoke Wu Suowei with anger, hoping to jolt him back to his senses.

Wu Suowei understood Chi Cheng’s intentions and finally could no longer hold back the sorrow and pain in his heart. At that moment, Wu Suowei was extremely fragile and even held tightly to Chi Cheng’s hand, afraid he would leave again. Chi Cheng continued to take meticulous care of Wu Suowei, though he couldn’t fully cheer him up. He tried every method he could think of.

Sometimes, under Chi Cheng’s care, Wu Suowei felt a little better, but other times he still sank into sadness. Wu Suowei didn’t even have the heart to handle company affairs, so Chi Cheng helped him manage the company. Jiang Xiaoshuai and Guo Chengyu were living a sweet life together. Chi Cheng spared no effort to make Wu Suowei happy and forget his worries, and with his tireless care, Wu Suowei gradually became more cheerful.

One day, Jiang Xiaoshuai was alone at home when the power suddenly went out. He was very afraid of the dark. After calling property management, he learned that the whole building had lost power due to circuit repairs and it wouldn’t be restored any time soon. Terrified, Jiang Xiaoshuai quickly called Guo Chengyu. As soon as Guo Chengyu heard about the outage, he didn’t hesitate for a second and immediately rushed over to be with Jiang Xiaoshuai.

The next day, while Jiang Xiaoshuai was out, Chi Cheng took the opportunity to visit Guo Chengyu. Both of them, being warmed by love in their own lives, were in good spirits and chatted happily. That night, to celebrate the company’s good performance, Wu Suowei invited all the employees to dinner. After the meal, Wu Suowei and Chi Cheng went to eat again together, during which Chi Cheng brought up Guo Chengyu.

Wu Suowei understood that Guo Chengyu and Jiang Xiaoshuai hadn’t made any real progress in their relationship. Wanting to help them take that crucial step, Wu Suowei went to the hospital the next day to find Jiang Xiaoshuai, deliberately acting heartbroken and crying as he poured out his troubles. Wu Suowei claimed that he and Chi Cheng had been fighting, that Chi Cheng had even hit him, and that he was now staying at Jiang Xiaoshuai’s home.

Seeing how miserable Wu Suowei looked, even talking about wanting to die, Jiang Xiaoshuai became furious and went to confront Chi Cheng to stick up for Wu Suowei. As they had planned beforehand, Chi Cheng deliberately acted intimidating to scare Jiang Xiaoshuai away. When Jiang Xiaoshuai later brought Chi Cheng back home, Wu Suowei sat on the sofa crying as if deeply hurt.

Wu Suowei and Chi Cheng put on an act in front of Jiang Xiaoshuai, claiming that Chi Cheng had hit him. Seeing Chi Cheng “lay hands” on Wu Suowei, Jiang Xiaoshuai became even angrier and wanted to teach Chi Cheng a lesson, but Wu Suowei stopped him. Thanks to Chi Cheng and Wu Suowei’s teamwork, Jiang Xiaoshuai fell for the trick and even took the initiative to go see Guo Chengyu.

Just as Chi Cheng and Wu Suowei were celebrating their success, Jiang Xiaoshuai suddenly returned and discovered their scheme. Realizing their plan had been exposed, Chi Cheng quickly devised a new one. He began to work on Guo Chengyu’s side, having Wu Suowei call Guo Chengyu while still pretending to be heartbroken. However, Wu Suowei had barely spoken a few words before Guo Chengyu abruptly hung up.

Episode 21 Recap

Jiang Xiaoshuai was feeling bored at home when Guo Chengyu’s assistant suddenly called, saying that after receiving a phone call, Guo Chengyu had hurriedly left without letting the assistant follow. Worried about Guo Chengyu, the assistant asked Jiang Xiaoshuai if he knew where Guo Chengyu was, but Jiang Xiaoshuai had no idea. After hanging up, he suddenly heard an argument outside. When he ran out, he found that it was Chi Cheng and Guo Chengyu quarreling.

Guo Chengyu blamed Chi Cheng for being self-important and making decisions on his own. Fearing that the two might get into a fight, Jiang Xiaoshuai quickly pulled Guo Chengyu away and took him home, while Chi Cheng knew the plan had worked. From behind, Wu Suowei pounced on Chi Cheng, acting coquettish as he proudly showed off his plan, and Chi Cheng praised him before carrying Wu Suowei away on his back.

After Guo Chengyu arrived at Jiang Xiaoshuai’s home, the two sat on the sofa watching TV together, though Jiang Xiaoshuai remained very tense. Suddenly, Guo Chengyu jumped toward Jiang Xiaoshuai, and as they watched TV in such close proximity, subtle feelings began to grow. Just as they were about to take things further, the power suddenly went out. Guo Chengyu lit a candle, and the whole scene instantly became romantic.

Jiang Xiaoshuai finally let down his guard, and the two embraced, spending a romantic night together. The next day, Jiang Xiaoshuai and Guo Chengyu went camping with Chi Cheng and Wu Suowei. Chi Cheng deliberately teased Guo Chengyu in jest, while Wu Suowei kept staring at Jiang Xiaoshuai and joined in the playful banter.

Jiang Xiaoshuai then took the opportunity to share a huge secret with Wu Suowei — it turned out that Wang Shuo and Wang Zhen were not biological brothers, and Wang Shuo had been adopted by his parents. Wu Suowei was shocked upon hearing this, but just as he and Jiang Xiaoshuai were discussing it, Chi Cheng suddenly came over and carried Wu Suowei into the tent.

Wu Suowei’s career took another step forward, and he went to his parents’ grave to tell them about his achievements. However, as he was leaving, a group of people suddenly appeared, knocked him unconscious, and took him away. When Wu Suowei woke up again, he found himself tied to a chair and realized he had likely been kidnapped. At that moment, an elderly man with a kind face appeared, and Wu Suowei guessed that this was Chi Cheng’s father.

Just then, Chi Cheng returned home, but he still heard the sound of movement. Chi Cheng’s father claimed it was because they had a dog in the house, and Chi Cheng thought nothing more of it. Not seeing Wu Suowei anywhere, not even at the company, Chi Cheng began to worry. Guo Chengyu analyzed that it was most likely Chi Cheng’s father’s doing, because with Chi Cheng around, few people would dare to touch Wu Suowei.

Chi Cheng then recalled hearing unusual noises when he returned home and began to suspect his father. He decided to check the surveillance footage for clues. When he went home to investigate, he did indeed find a dog there, but knowing his father’s nature, he realized it was just a cover. He called his father, but the call was answered by his father’s assistant. Leaving a harsh remark, Chi Cheng began searching everywhere until the housekeeper returned.

From her, Chi Cheng learned Wu Suowei’s current whereabouts. Since Wu Suowei had injured his foot, Chi Cheng’s father even called in a doctor to treat him.

Wu Suowei tearfully said he needed to return quickly to handle his company’s Canadian orders, but his ploy was already seen through by Chi Cheng’s father, who refused and said that since Chi Cheng’s mother had gone back to her hometown, only he was left at home, and he wanted Wu Suowei to stay with him. Chi Cheng eventually found the people who had kidnapped Wu Suowei, but they didn’t know the exact location.

Wu Suowei and Chi Cheng’s father were getting along relatively well, yet Chi Cheng’s father still wouldn’t let him leave. Wu Suowei managed to pass Chi Cheng a string of numbers, but Chi Cheng couldn’t figure out what they meant. Guo Chengyu suggested letting Jiang Xiaoshuai take a look, since Jiang Xiaoshuai knew Wu Suowei better.

Episode 22 Recap

Early in the morning, Wu Suowei woke up, eagerly hoping Chi Cheng would come to rescue him, and that Chi Cheng could understand the marks he had left behind. When he heard a knock on the door, Wu Suowei thought it was Chi Cheng coming to save him and excitedly went to open the door, only to find it was Chi Cheng’s father.

Although Chi Cheng’s father had been keeping Wu Suowei confined, he hadn’t mistreated him, and even advised Wu Suowei to cut ties with Chi Cheng and leave. Wu Suowei, however, deliberately acted disgustingly, trying to make Chi Cheng’s father uncomfortable, but the latter didn’t fall for it. Seeing that Wu Suowei was lacking in company management skills, Chi Cheng’s father decided to take him to the company to learn advanced management experience.

Hearing this, Wu Suowei became excited and pretended to have a stomachache so he could go to the bathroom. On his way there, he kept thinking about how to escape. Meanwhile, Chi Cheng had already arrived outside the villa and had taken down the two bodyguards outside. From the bathroom window, Wu Suowei saw the guards had been dealt with and immediately jumped out to escape. Chi Cheng, furious, rushed straight into the living room and confronted his father.

Spotting Wu Suowei fleeing, Chi Cheng deliberately apologized to his father and acted as though he cared deeply for him to buy time. Distracted by Chi Cheng’s behavior, his father let his guard down, and only after Chi Cheng left did he realize Wu Suowei had escaped. After being rescued, Wu Suowei deliberately acted pitiful, making Chi Cheng feel guilty. The two then sweetly bathed together in the bathtub.

Since Chi Cheng’s family had never accepted Wu Suowei, Chi Cheng stayed with him and didn’t return home. Wu Suowei, however, felt that since they were Chi Cheng’s parents, they shouldn’t avoid meeting forever, and encouraged Chi Cheng to visit them. He also tried to get Chi Cheng’s family to accept him. When Chi Cheng returned home, he planned to take his father out for a drink, but the car his father was supposed to take broke down.

Chi Cheng offered to drive him himself, but his father, still angry, refused. With time running out, his father had no choice but to ride in Chi Cheng’s car, and Chi Cheng even bought him some hangover medicine. While Jiang Xiaoshuai and Guo Chengyu were enjoying a sweet moment, Wu Suowei suddenly showed up, disrupting the romantic atmosphere. Since Chi Cheng had gone home, Wu Suowei found it boring and decided to sleep over at Jiang Xiaoshuai’s place.

That night, Chi Cheng lay in his bedroom but couldn’t sleep, hearing Jiang Xiaoshuai and Guo Chengyu laughing and chatting outside, leaving him feeling empty. Wu Suowei left Jiang Xiaoshuai’s home and aimlessly drove around the streets before returning to his former home. Since his parents were no longer there, the place felt just as deserted. Looking at the tree in the yard, Wu Suowei recalled how, as a child, his father used to hold him up to pick fruit.

That evening, Chi Cheng had a long conversation with his father, who worried that if Chi Cheng continued like this, without children and with Wu Suowei as “the boss’s wife,” life would be miserable. Chi Cheng had his own views, but they couldn’t agree, and he left to find Wu Suowei. Wu Suowei had been feeling lonely, but the moment he saw Chi Cheng, he was so moved he burst into tears.

Chi Cheng’s older sister returned home with her child. Chi Cheng’s father was overjoyed to see his grandson, Wan Sen, and busied himself with the boy. At that moment, Chi Cheng also came home and, upon seeing his young nephew, felt close to him, even bringing the child to visit Wu Suowei. The boy and Wu Suowei played happily together, and the child grew very fond of him.

Suddenly, Wu Suowei and Chi Cheng’s company was reported for tax evasion, and the police took Chi Cheng away. Wu Suowei began an accounting review, but the account book the police were examining wasn’t the one kept by the accountant — it had already been tampered with.

Episode 23 Recap

Wu Suowei also found out that the person who reported his company was a man named Wang Zhenlong. He recalled that back when Yue Yue betrayed him, the man she was with was also Wang Zhenlong. What Wu Suowei didn’t expect was that after all this time, having had no dealings with Wang Zhenlong, the man would still step forward to frame him. Wu Suowei went to see Wang Zhenlong and brought him gifts.

But Wang Zhenlong was determined not to let Chi Cheng off the hook — years ago, Wang Zhenlong had been in a car accident that left him with a limp, and he had always resented Chi Cheng, waiting for a chance to get revenge. In order to rescue Chi Cheng, Wu Suowei even knelt before Wang Zhenlong, but it was useless.

Wu Suowei then went to Chi Cheng’s home to beg Chi Cheng’s father for help, but his father firmly refused. Since the company’s situation hadn’t been clarified, Wu Suowei’s company was sealed, leaving him with no source of income, so he had to sell sugar figurines by the roadside. When Wang Shuo heard that Chi Cheng had been arrested, he wanted to take his brother, Wang Zhen, to mock them.

At first, Wang Zhen didn’t plan to kick someone when they were down, but when Wang Shuo said he was going to cause trouble for Wu Suowei, Wang Zhen agreed to go along. Wang Shuo found Wu Suowei, saw him running a street stall, and felt pleased with himself, planning to insult him. But Wu Suowei struck at Wang Shuo’s weakness, telling him he wasn’t his parents’ biological son.

Hearing this, Wang Zhen quickly stepped in to smooth things over, not wanting Wang Shuo to dwell on it. That night, while Wu Suowei was still running his stall, he suddenly saw someone from the company who had helped Wang Zhenlong falsify accounts. Wu Suowei caught the man, beat him up, and brought him to Jiang Xiaoshuai’s hospital, where Jiang Xiaoshuai helped treat his wounds.

Wu Suowei then learned that the reason the man had helped Wang Zhenlong was because his grandmother was ill and needed a large sum for treatment. But once the goal was achieved, Wang Zhenlong didn’t pay the remaining balance. At first, Chi Cheng didn’t mean to blame him and even wanted to discuss having him testify to secure Chi Cheng’s release, but the man still demanded money because he had no way to pay for his grandmother’s treatment.

Now that Wu Suowei’s company had been shut down, he had no money to give. To help him, Jiang Xiaoshuai offered to lend him his savings, but Wu Suowei declined and instead put his old family home up for sale to raise money. Just a few days after listing it, a buyer showed interest, but the buyer treated the items in the house with great disrespect and pressed the price down.

Since Chi Cheng urgently needed the money, Wu Suowei had no choice but to accept, selling the house at a much lower price. He packed up his belongings and prepared to leave, feeling a wave of sadness as he looked around the old home, especially recalling the beautiful times spent with his family. His heart felt empty. The detention center finally allowed Wu Suowei to meet Chi Cheng.

Although he had been longing to see him, when the chance finally came, Wu Suowei didn’t feel happy and didn’t know how it would be to face him. On the day of the meeting, Chi Cheng instead put on a calm expression, showing no sadness at all, not wanting Wu Suowei to be upset. Though Wu Suowei was deeply saddened inside, he also didn’t show it, pretending to be very happy.

Both tried to comfort each other, avoiding sad topics, not wanting to burden the other. But when Chi Cheng heard that Wu Suowei had sold his old family home, he was shocked. Chi Cheng knew how important that house was to the family and scolded Wu Suowei, saying he should have sold his own house instead. Wu Suowei didn’t want Chi Cheng’s family to look down on him, so he had endured the pain of selling it.
