Revenged Love Recap

Episode 1 Recap

Under the dim lighting in the room, Chi Cheng sat on the sofa with a small white snake lying on his left arm. Suddenly, someone called him and provoked him with challenging words, saying they had gotten a snake and asking if Chi Cheng dared to accept the challenge. Chi Cheng did not back down and prepared to bring his big white snake, Huang Long, to the showdown. The scene shifted dramatically to bright sunlight.

Wu Qiqiong’s mother was preparing a lavish meal because Wu Qiqiong’s girlfriend, Yue Yue, was coming over for dinner. She even specially bought three jin of crayfish. Wu Qiqiong was also excited and, after checking, discovered some of the crayfish were missing, which made him angry. Wu Qiqiong’s mother found it odd that Yue Yue hadn’t arrived yet. Wu Qiqiong wasn’t too worried because Yue Yue often showed up late to their dates.

He guessed she might be having trouble finding his house and called her. Yue Yue saw that Wu Qiqiong lived in a slum area and felt disdainful after being picked up by Zhang Wanchang. Upon meeting Wu Qiqiong, she proposed breaking up. Wu Qiqiong loved her deeply and didn’t want to break up so easily. He grabbed her, trying to understand her reasons. At that moment, Wu Qiqiong was punched.

Yue Yue’s lover, Wang Zhenlong, appeared and even insulted Wu Qiqiong. Chi Cheng brought his giant python, Huang Long, to the duel with Guo Shao’s snake. The onlookers were excited. At one point, Guo Shao’s snake even had the upper hand. Chi Cheng calmly sat on the sofa, sipping his wine without showing any emotion. Everyone thought Guo Shao was going to win this time.

But just when Guo Shao became smug, the tide turned—Chi Cheng’s Huang Long wrapped around Guo Shao’s snake and then bit it. Guo Shao lost the match. Though displeased, he still showed the attitude of accepting defeat with grace. Shockingly, the prize they had agreed on was a person who looked like a child. At the hospital, Doctor Jiang came to Wu Qiqiong’s bedside. Wu Qiqiong had fallen unconscious after being punched in the head.

Chi Cheng, who was enjoying some peace, suddenly received a call from his mother, telling him that his father was hospitalized. Chi Cheng rushed home out of concern. While he was sleeping at home, he got a call early the next morning—his snake den had been raided, and even the little dragon he won in the duel had disappeared.

Chi Cheng suspected the raid had something to do with that little dragon, so he hurried downstairs, only to run into his father and discover he wasn’t actually sick—it was just a trick to get Chi Cheng to come home. Following the doctor's advice, Wu Qiqiong successfully lost weight and became more handsome. He wanted to find Yue Yue again. Although Yue Yue had a change of heart, their reconciliation failed, and Wu Qiqiong was beaten by Wang Zhenlong again.

Before Wu Qiqiong could even go to the hospital for treatment, his boss called him back to work to fix a machine. However, his boss took advantage of him, and after experiencing this classic blow, the usually timid Wu Qiqiong finally mustered the courage to resign. Unwilling to remain poor, Wu Qiqiong decided to start a business, beginning with a street stall. But the spot he chose happened to be on the land owned by Chi Cheng’s Yuancheng Group.

On the very first day he set up his stall, Chi Cheng came with his people to inspect the area. Wu Qiqiong angered Chi Cheng and ran off to hide in Jiang Xiaoshuai’s hospital. After the failure of his street stall, Wu Qiqiong began a second entrepreneurial attempt—livestreaming—which just so happened to collide with Chi Cheng. The little dragon was captured and, upon seeing Chi Cheng, became terrified and begged for mercy.

But Chi Cheng had no intention of letting him go. He handed the little dragon over to his subordinates. When Chi Cheng came out of the bar, his car happened to block Wang Zhenlong’s. At that moment, Yue Yue was also attracted to Chi Cheng’s good looks. As Wang Zhenlong was driving, Chi Cheng drove toward him from the opposite direction, causing Wang Zhenlong to swerve and crash into the roadside. Chi Cheng was once again called home.

His father gave him a year to find a girlfriend, or the family would arrange one for him. Yue Yue dressed herself flamboyantly and sought out Chi Cheng, pretending to be very fond of snakes in order to win his favor. Coincidentally, Chi Cheng was also looking for a girl to appease his father. Since Wu Qiqiong’s equipment was confiscated and he could no longer livestream, he found a new job driving a freight truck.

While delivering goods, he was stopped by Chi Cheng, who was looking for his snake. At that moment, Yue Yue came looking for Chi Cheng, which led to a misunderstanding when Wu Qiqiong saw them together.

Episode 2 Recap

Wu Suowei returned to the hospital with a dejected expression. The friends at the hospital, seeing Wu Suowei, came up with concern to ask what was wrong, but at that moment Wu Suowei wasn’t in the mood to talk to anyone—he just wanted to be alone and quietly walked away. For the sake of revenge, Wu Suowei wanted Jiang Xiaoshuai to teach him how to attract men.

Wu Suowei’s goal was to lure in Chi Cheng in order to get revenge on both Chi Cheng and Yue Yue. At first, Jiang Xiaoshuai was unwilling to agree, but after hearing about Wu Suowei’s experiences, he decided to help. He deliberately gathered information on Chi Cheng, analyzing his habits and preferences to “know the enemy and know oneself, and win every battle.” After covering the theory, Jiang Xiaoshuai personally led Wu Suowei to begin field practice.

On a rainy night, Jiang Xiaoshuai brought Wu Suowei, pushing an electric scooter loaded with goods, and appeared on the road where Chi Cheng would definitely pass by. As expected, when Chi Cheng saw Wu Suowei, he got out of his car to help push and then returned to his vehicle looking dashing.

From just this one encounter, Jiang Xiaoshuai realized he had underestimated Chi Cheng’s level, and continued bringing Wu Suowei to appear in front of Chi Cheng, constantly striking poses and putting on an act. But Chi Cheng seemed to see through Wu Suowei’s intentions and gave him no chance. Seeing no progress, Jiang Xiaoshuai continued digging and found out Chi Cheng liked playing basketball. He suggested Wu Suowei go to the basketball court. This time things progressed more quickly.

Three days later, Wu Suowei returned to the court and found Chi Cheng. Although Chi Cheng pretended to be indifferent, he was actually looking forward to seeing Wu Suowei. The moment he saw him, he greeted him first, and even sneakily slapped Wu Suowei on the butt when he wasn’t looking. Wu Suowei was quite upset by the sudden ambush.

After returning, Wu Suowei tried to get even closer to Chi Cheng and even became his apprentice to learn how to raise snakes. Since Wu Suowei was very attentive, he quickly picked it up. That night, Wu Suowei deliberately waited at the basketball court for Chi Cheng, offering a small white mouse to feed Chi Cheng’s snake and even gifted him a box of Dabao.

When Chi Cheng was feeding his little white snake, Xiaocupao, he noticed that Xiaocupao didn’t want to eat. He realized it was because Wu Suowei had fed it once before, and now the snake had become picky. While scolding Xiaocupao, Chi Cheng was actually thinking of Wu Suowei—ever since that feeding, Wu Suowei hadn’t shown up again, and Chi Cheng was starting to miss him.

Feeling bored, Chi Cheng went to a bar and ran into a man who was chasing after Jiang Xiaoshuai. Early the next morning, Wu Suowei woke up and was chatting with Jiang Xiaoshuai when he suddenly spotted Chi Cheng and quickly hid. Chi Cheng asked about Wu Suowei’s project, but Jiang Xiaoshuai lied and said Wu Suowei wasn’t there. Chi Cheng didn’t believe it and went to look for him himself, going straight to Wu Suowei’s room.

Chi Cheng suddenly barged in, catching Wu Suowei off guard. Flustered, Wu Suowei asked him to wait outside. But Chi Cheng acted very ambiguously and, on his way out, even gently slapped Wu Suowei on the butt again. The unexpected gesture made Wu Suowei feel extremely uncomfortable. After tidying up his clothes, Wu Suowei walked out of the room and asked Chi Cheng why he had come.

No matter what Chi Cheng said, Wu Suowei played hard to get, deliberately throwing small tantrums and keeping Chi Cheng hooked. Jiang Xiaoshuai arrived in time to rescue Wu Suowei, explaining he had gone to get food for Chi Cheng’s snake and caught a cold, which wasn’t contagious. That’s why Wu Suowei hadn’t gone to play basketball. Just then, Wu Suowei received news that more than a dozen of his snakes had suddenly died.

Chi Cheng overheard and followed him to the snake room to investigate. With his experience, Chi Cheng immediately suspected Wu Suowei had been scammed. But in fact, Wu Suowei had deliberately fallen into the “trap”—putting on an act for Chi Cheng to see.

Episode 3 Recap

After Wu Suowei got Chi Cheng’s phone number, he called him to borrow money—a considerable amount. Chi Cheng didn’t hesitate at all. Instead, he asked to add Wu Suowei on WeChat. After adding him, Chi Cheng asked with concern what the money was for, clearly worried that Wu Suowei might be in trouble. Wu Suowei said he needed to buy another batch of snakes and raise them again.

He also analyzed the reason for the last failure, claiming that this time he would definitely succeed. After hearing Wu Suowei’s explanation, Chi Cheng didn’t ask further and directly transferred 200,000 yuan to him. After receiving the money, even Jiang Xiaoshuai was surprised—it was unexpectedly easy to borrow the money. Wu Suowei became even more confident in his ability to attract Chi Cheng. With the money in hand, Wu Suowei went to his mentor to buy more snakes.

His mentor was delighted upon hearing that Wu Suowei wanted to buy snakes. He even tried to upsell him on harder-to-raise snakes, clearly wanting to profit from him. Chi Cheng went to the owner of the snake farm, claiming he wanted to sell snakes. The owner didn’t dare cross him and had no choice but to agree. But when he saw the snakes Chi Cheng brought, he realized they were the same ones he had sold to Wu Suowei earlier.

Chi Cheng had come specifically to get justice for Wu Suowei. Using the same trick the owner had used to scam Wu Suowei last time, Chi Cheng got a lot of money out of him. After receiving the money, Chi Cheng immediately transferred it to Wu Suowei again. Wu Suowei returned to the snake farm wanting to buy a truck. At first, the owner didn’t want to sell it, fearing Chi Cheng would come back and cause more trouble.

But he didn’t dare say it directly and ended up selling the truck to Wu Suowei anyway. After buying the truck, Wu Suowei took Chi Cheng to visit his snake-raising site. Yue Yue went to Chi Cheng’s home and was surprised to discover that both Chi Cheng and Wu Suowei used the same brand of Dabao cream. However, she still complimented Chi Cheng in order not to upset him. Chi Cheng didn’t care much about it.

Hoping to get his snake back, he wanted to bring Yue Yue home with him. Yue Yue was excited, mistakenly thinking that she was about to become Chi Cheng’s wife and gain wealth and status. Chi Cheng bought a lot of high-end clothes for Wu Suowei, and the two agreed to meet in a park. When they met, both acted reserved, waiting for the other to speak first. Wu Suowei kept changing the subject, deliberately avoiding anything related to dating.

Suddenly, Chi Cheng ambiguously slapped Wu Suowei on the butt. Though Wu Suowei felt a bit disgusted, he decided to go all-in and tried to slap Chi Cheng’s butt in return to keep his interest. Just as he was about to do it, Chi Cheng turned around and interrupted him. Seeing Wu Suowei sweating, Chi Cheng thought he had hurt him and offered to massage him.

Wu Suowei struggled internally—this was a perfect opportunity, but the issue was, the other party was a man. Just as Chi Cheng was about to take the next step, Wu Suowei couldn’t go through with it and firmly rejected him. Later, while they were walking together, Wu Suowei kept wanting to hold Chi Cheng’s hand, hoping to take their relationship a step further. But he was still wrestling with his feelings.

Thinking about Chi Cheng possibly marrying Yue Yue, Wu Suowei still wanted to break them up. As he hesitated, a car suddenly passed by. In an instinctive move to save Chi Cheng, Wu Suowei grabbed his hand. That moment brought the two of them even closer. Chi Cheng domineeringly held onto Wu Suowei’s hand, and the two looked like a couple—though Wu Suowei still seemed a bit unnatural. Chi Cheng got a call from Yue Yue and wanted to leave.

Wu Suowei was hesitant at first, but when he saw that it was Yue Yue calling, he instead grabbed Chi Cheng’s hand and wouldn’t let him go. Chi Cheng interpreted Wu Suowei’s reaction as acting cute and jealous, and surprisingly, he didn’t go meet Yue Yue and stayed with Wu Suowei instead.

Episode 4 Recap

Wu Suowei felt that Chi Cheng came from a wealthy family and had graduated from a prestigious university, while his own background couldn’t compare. At the very least, he didn’t want Chi Cheng to think he lacked education, so he kept reading books and expanding his knowledge. Just then, Chi Cheng sent him a message—and the content was so gross that it made Wu Suowei’s hair stand on end.

Wu Suowei deliberately asked Chi Cheng out, wearing something scholarly to meet at the library so they could discuss literature and novels. But Chi Cheng wasn’t interested in any of that—he only wanted to be with Wu Suowei. At first, Wu Suowei resisted a little, but when he heard Chi Cheng say he was busy at night, he guessed Chi Cheng might have plans with Yue Yue and decided he had to interfere.

Chi Cheng, not wanting Wu Suowei to run off again, stood Yue Yue up and went with Wu Suowei to a concert instead. During the concert, Yue Yue called Chi Cheng. Wu Suowei, acting coy, asked Chi Cheng to turn off his phone, and Chi Cheng did so without hesitation. At the concert, Chi Cheng kept making ambiguous moves, and Wu Suowei gritted his teeth and endured it all. After the concert, the two of them ate ice cream.

Wu Suowei got some on his lips, and Chi Cheng actually leaned in and used his own mouth to lick it off—this suggestive move left Wu Suowei completely flustered. Regaining his composure, Wu Suowei initially wanted to storm off in anger, but remembering his mission to break up Chi Cheng and Yue Yue, he forced himself to stay. Later, Chi Cheng asked Wu Suowei to help blow a Tangren (sugar figurine) for Yue Yue.

Upon hearing it was for Yue Yue, Wu Suowei was reluctant. Seeing his expression, Chi Cheng thought he was jealous and kept trying to comfort him. The next morning, Jiang Xiaoshuai was surprised to find only Wu Suowei in the room. He thought Chi Cheng might have spent the night.

After hearing what actually happened, Jiang Xiaoshuai felt it was a pity and told Wu Suowei that if Chi Cheng ever tried to make a move again, he had to respond—otherwise, over time, Chi Cheng would drift away. While Wu Suowei lay in bed feeling at a loss, Chi Cheng called, wanting to go on a date.

Wu Suowei initially opposed Chi Cheng’s suggestion, but then remembered Jiang Xiaoshuai’s advice: no matter what move Chi Cheng makes, he has to respond, or else they’ll grow distant. So Wu Suowei gave a vague response to go along with it. Just as he finished speaking, Chi Cheng hung up, making Wu Suowei think he might’ve come across as too forward. But just as Wu Suowei was chatting with Jiang Xiaoshuai, Chi Cheng and Guo Chengyu suddenly showed up.

All four of them were caught off guard at first, but eventually clarified their relationships with each other. Chi Cheng then received a call about a lead on the snake, and he left without hesitation. Guo Chengyu returned to the clinic and asked Jiang Xiaoshuai to help dress his wounds. As Jiang Xiaoshuai did the bandaging, he kept stammering, unable to speak clearly. Wu Suowei, who was eavesdropping nearby, grew anxious and silently cheered Jiang Xiaoshuai on.

Guo Chengyu then took the opportunity to ask for Jiang Xiaoshuai’s contact info. Jiang Xiaoshuai, thinking he could use this to get information for Wu Suowei, silently agreed. Chi Cheng discovered a hidden snake in a vegetable transport truck—it was the offspring of his own python. He guessed the snake must be somewhere in the company, and after some analysis, concluded it was likely in the cafeteria.

However, he didn’t rush to retrieve it, knowing that even if he got it back, his father would find another way to take it away. He needed a perfect plan. Chi Cheng sought out Wu Suowei again. Seeing him asleep, Chi Cheng couldn’t help but feel tenderness. During their conversation, Chi Cheng even forcibly kissed Wu Suowei, leaving him completely stunned.

That night, Jiang Xiaoshuai still wanted to figure out the relationship between Guo Chengyu and Chi Cheng but was afraid Guo Chengyu might be investigating Wu Suowei. Not wanting to tip him off, Jiang Xiaoshuai blocked him outright. The next day at work, Jiang Xiaoshuai found that Wu Suowei had a high fever and was burning up. He took great care of him. Meanwhile, back home, Chi Cheng kept thinking about the moment he kissed Wu Suowei, his mind filled with conflicting emotions.

Episode 5 Recap

When Yue Yue accompanied Chi Cheng to register their profiles together, Chi Cheng’s parents were very warm and welcoming upon meeting her. Yue Yue, being experienced, skillfully tried to win their favor, believing she had easily won over Chi Cheng’s family and would soon be living a wealthy life. However, after they left, Chi Cheng became distant and indifferent, even asking someone else to send Yue Yue home, leaving her deeply disappointed. Chi Cheng’s mind was entirely on Wu Suowei.

Since Wu Suowei kept rejecting him, Chi Cheng consulted those around him for advice on what approach he should take. People around him speculated that either Wu Suowei was too pure or had something to hide, which made him afraid to be with Chi Cheng. Guo Chengyu, after being blocked by Jiang Xiaoshuai, wasn’t discouraged. Instead, he used the opportunity of picking up medicine to have his subordinate deliver desserts to Jiang Xiaoshuai.

Jiang Xiaoshuai, not seeing Guo Chengyu himself, actually felt a bit disappointed and asked for the dessert to be taken away. But when he heard it would just be thrown out, he hesitated, unwilling to waste something from Guo Chengyu. Ever since the forced kiss, Wu Suowei had avoided seeing Chi Cheng. With no other choice, Chi Cheng pestered Jiang Xiaoshuai, pressuring him to reveal Wu Suowei’s whereabouts. Helpless, Jiang Xiaoshuai gave Chi Cheng the address to Wu Suowei’s home.

Upon arriving, Chi Cheng learned from Wu Suowei’s mother that he was still sick. At that moment, Wu Suowei happened to be watching an educational video. When Chi Cheng arrived unexpectedly, he was so startled he threw his phone onto the bed—only for Chi Cheng to notice. Chi Cheng tried to make a move, but luckily Wu Suowei’s mother called them for dinner just in time, defusing the situation.

While staying at Wu Suowei’s home, Chi Cheng learned more about Wu Suowei’s difficult background. During dinner, he showed great warmth toward Wu Suowei’s mother, who was very pleased with him. Wu Suowei also began to view Chi Cheng differently and more favorably. Since it was already late, Wu Suowei’s mother invited Chi Cheng to stay the night. Later, Wu Suowei returned to the basketball court and played basketball with Chi Cheng.

During the game, the two behaved flirtatiously with each other. During a break, Yue Yue called Chi Cheng. Wu Suowei, seeing it was her, deliberately caused a scene nearby to prevent Chi Cheng from going on a date with her. Chi Cheng thought Wu Suowei was jealous and actually turned Yue Yue down, instead going with Wu Suowei to eat spicy hot pot.

Normally, Chi Cheng wouldn’t eat from roadside stalls, but since Wu Suowei wanted to go, he didn’t object—even eating chili peppers he usually avoided under Wu Suowei’s coaxing. Watching Chi Cheng eat spicy hot pot, Wu Suowei suddenly recalled the reason Yue Yue broke up with him—saying he was poor and always looked sloppy. Yet the proud and pampered Chi Cheng was now willing to eat street food with him, which moved Wu Suowei deeply.

Because of the heat, and perhaps to break the awkwardness, Wu Suowei lifted his shirt a little to cool off. Seeing Wu Suowei act so bold and revealing, Chi Cheng became jealous and forcefully pulled him into the car to cool down, even stealing another kiss. Wu Suowei originally thought this would drive Chi Cheng away, causing him to return to Yue Yue, but to his surprise, Chi Cheng suggested bringing Wu Suowei home to live with him.

Wu Suowei refused, wanting Chi Cheng to break up with Yue Yue first. But Yue Yue had her own reasons and wasn’t ready to break up. Thinking Chi Cheng was trying to keep both of them, Wu Suowei stormed out of the car and ran off in the pouring rain. Guo Chengyu had someone look into Wu Suowei’s background and found out that Yue Yue had been Wu Suowei’s girlfriend for three years.

From Guo Chengyu’s perspective, Wu Suowei was now fighting his ex-girlfriend over a man, which made him suspect Wu Suowei had ulterior motives. Guo Chengyu’s own investigation revealed he had opened his clinic in this city just to escape the heartbreak of a previous relationship. When Yue Yue went to the basketball court to look for Chi Cheng, Wu Suowei saw her. In an effort to sabotage them, he acted gloomy that night, even pretending to smoke, and went to find Chi Cheng—only to be forcefully taken home by him.

Episode 6 Recap

Wu Suowei arrived at Chi Cheng’s place and found it uncomfortably humid and hot because Chi Cheng had specially adjusted the environment for raising snakes. Feeling uncomfortable, Wu Suowei went to the fridge to look for something cold to drink and was surprised to find the candies he had made stored inside. Seeing this made Wu Suowei smile with relief—just in time for Chi Cheng to walk in and catch the moment.

Worried that something might really happen between them, Wu Suowei wanted to leave, but Chi Cheng stopped him. During the confrontation, Chi Cheng tried to push further, but Wu Suowei warned him that if he crossed the line now, their relationship would become purely physical, and he would never love him again. Hearing this, Chi Cheng backed down.

That night, while Wu Suowei was sleeping, Chi Cheng gazed at him with deep affection, gently covered him with a blanket, and softly stroked him with care. Desire stirred again in Chi Cheng’s heart, but remembering Wu Suowei’s warning, he managed to restrain himself. The next day, Wu Suowei returned to the clinic.

Jiang Xiaoshuai, noticing he hadn’t come home the night before, greeted him with a teasing smile and shared the news he had dug up: Chi Cheng and Guo Chengyu were romantic rivals. Guo Chengyu had once stolen Chi Cheng’s boyfriend, which was why the two had been at odds ever since.

Wu Suowei became anxious upon hearing this, but Jiang Xiaoshuai reminded him that both Chi Cheng and Guo Chengyu were not to be trifled with—if Guo Chengyu ever turned against Wu Suowei, everything would be exposed. Still, Wu Suowei was already too deep to back out. Chi Cheng kept sending all kinds of health supplements to Wu Suowei’s mother. In return, she asked Wu Suowei to bring some corn to thank Chi Cheng.

Meanwhile, Guo Chengyu deliberately drove past Jiang Xiaoshuai’s clinic. Seeing him while watering the flowers, Jiang Xiaoshuai seized the opportunity to get closer to Guo Chengyu to help Wu Suowei gather intel. Wu Suowei also took the chance to find out that Chi Cheng’s job at the company wasn’t his own choice—it was forced on him by his father. Even the snakes Chi Cheng raised had been taken away by his father.

To get to the bottom of things, Wu Suowei sought out Chi Cheng’s assistant. Through their conversation, Wu Suowei learned that Chi Cheng’s involvement with Yue Yue wasn’t out of real affection. Feeling guilty, Wu Suowei went to explain things to Chi Cheng, who happened to be in a bad mood and drinking alone. Listening to Chi Cheng pour out his sorrows, their relationship deepened once again. Meanwhile, Yue Yue grew suspicious because Chi Cheng hadn’t been answering her calls.

She even began to suspect that Chi Cheng might have found another woman, which was why he had been avoiding her. Desperate to win Chi Cheng’s heart, she kept calling. The first time she called, Wu Suowei happened to see it and directly hung up. Yue Yue guessed the call was rejected by Chi Cheng’s new lover and called again, only to hear Wu Suowei’s voice.

She immediately assumed that Wu Suowei was deliberately sabotaging her and trying to ruin her chance at happiness. Wu Suowei told Jiang Xiaoshuai that Chi Cheng and Yue Yue couldn’t break up yet. Jiang Xiaoshuai was surprised, since he already knew their relationship was just for show—why couldn’t they end it?

Wu Suowei explained that Chi Cheng’s snakes were being held by his father, and Chi Cheng was only playing along with Yue Yue to please his father and get the snakes back. Wu Suowei wanted them to break up, and to do that, he needed to find the snakes. So he came up with a new plan: sabotage Yue Yue’s image in Chi Cheng’s eyes by making her appear to harm his snakes on purpose.
