Synopsis
A history PhD and military content creator is transported back to the turbulent Five Dynasties period. Assuming the identity of a descendant of the prestigious Cui clan, he applies modern knowledge to train troops, develop agriculture, and strengthen local defenses. Alongside a resourceful merchant woman from the salt and iron trade, he protects the city, defeats powerful enemies, and gradually finds love.
He originally hopes to retire after achieving his goals, but the relentless tide of history pushes him into a desperate struggle. In the end, he chooses to challenge fate itself and rewrite history with nothing more than the will of an ordinary man.
