While in Hong Kong, Xi Song unexpectedly encountered the sister of his ex-girlfriend, Shihan. She inquired about his well-being before acknowledging that he likely wanted to know about Shihan. She explained that she had brought Shihan to Hong Kong so she could pursue her dream of joining the L&A Design Institute, and also because the fast-paced life there meant Shihan would rarely encounter news of him.
Xi Song asked about Shihan’s current state, and her sister replied that Shihan was healthy, doing well at work, and surrounded by family and friends, living the life she had always wanted. However, Shihan's sister quickly corrected him, asserting that the life Shihan truly desired was one with him. She stated that while Xi Song was a good person, he was not a good boyfriend. She had initially opposed their relationship but couldn't sway Shihan.
Shihan's sister revealed that during their year together, Shihan was never at peace, not because of outside opinions, but because Xi Song “said nothing,” and as Shihan had always lacked security, their breakup was inevitable. Unbeknownst to them, Song Mom and Song Dad were secretly following Song Miduo and overheard her confession. Song Mom was so ecstatic that she pinched Song Dad in excitement. Later that evening, after drinking with Song Miduo and Xiao Mi, Lu Yiyou drove Song Miduo home. She asserted that her perception of him differed from others', and acknowledged that Xi Song, and even Lu Yiyou, had expressed similar concerns about her getting hurt. Song Miduo reassured her father that she would never intentionally hurt herself, especially knowing how much they loved her. Regarding external criticism, she believed it stemmed from people's deep affection for Xi Song, and that if she proved her genuine feelings, they might accept her.
She declared she was ready for any challenges and completely unafraid. Song Dad, stating he only wished for her to be a healthy, happy, ordinary person, and not to pursue fame or become a "phoenix," ultimately accepted her decision.
