Shuangshuang, struggling with her mechanics studies, sent a message to her boss, Qi Xun, lamenting, "Boss, I am dying from studying the mechanics." She then wondered if he was asleep when he didn't reply. However, just as she put the book back on the shelf, Qi Xun suddenly appeared before her, making her exclaim in surprise. He asked her, "Why are you here?" to which she replied, "You asked me to come here." Shuangshuang denied it, but he insisted.
Qi Xun then prompted her, "So, what is the problem?" However, Shuangshuang, captivated by his presence, couldn't remember her question. Later, talking to her friends, she sweetly and cautiously asked, "What does it feel like to have a boyfriend with super power?" The next morning, as Shuangshuang debated how to face Qi Xun, he opened his door just as she was about to knock, greeting her with, "Why did you come here so early?"
She happily replied, "I am here to see you." Shuangshuang confided in Qi Xun, telling him how much she missed him since returning from her trip. She wanted to confirm their relationship was real and not just a casual fling, questioning if he had truly rushed to save her without a second thought during their previous predicament. Qi Xun reassured her, saying he didn't understand her lack of self-confidence, but affirmed that everything was real when he was with her.
Moved, Shuangshuang kissed him, explaining it was to mark her territory and declare her claim on their relationship. Qi Xun then affectionately lifted her onto the bed, asking if she was certain now. She nodded, confirming her feelings, and they shared a passionate moment. Later that evening, as they watched a silent film, which Qi Xun loved and insisted wasn't boring, Shuangshuang eventually dozed off in his arms.
Qi Xun playfully asked if she wanted him to cuddle her, but she found it too hot, so he gently held her hand as she slept. The next day, while eating ice cream, Shuangshuang requested another serving, but Qi Xun refused, worried she would catch a cold. He warned her not to ask again, or he wouldn't buy her any more. Despite her pleas, he remained firm.
When Qi Xun went to get another ice cream for Shuangshuang, the last one was already sold to a rude man. Qi Xun offered double the price, but the man scoffed at his money and threatened him for staring. Using his superpowers, Qi Xun subtly retrieved the ice cream and presented it to a delighted Shuangshuang. Later, as they left a store to go shopping, a clerk called out, "Sir, excuse me. Your wife left her phone here."
Hearing "your wife" made both of them blush and smile. In a jewelry store, while Shuangshuang admired some accessories, Qi Xun asked her which one she liked. She declared, "None of them. I only like you." Their public displays of affection earned them an exasperated comment from another customer about their "dog food." Meanwhile, Kun Lan met with Director Du, requesting that Shuangshuang be appointed as the lead designer for his new studio project.
He insisted on having no one but Shuangshuang. Director Du eventually agreed. Back at the office, Shuangshuang was immediately bombarded by colleagues, who had heard rumors about her and Qi Xun, asking if she was in a relationship with him. She repeatedly denied it, saying they were "just common friends." Qi Xun, having overheard this, was clearly bothered and pulled Shuangshuang away, questioning her, "Who is your common friend?"
Shuangshuang explained that she didn't mean to say 'just common friends', but he retorted that he only listened to her. He then asked her how she would introduce him to others in the future. While at a flower shop with Shi Lang, Qi Tian suddenly fainted, causing great concern. Shi Lang immediately rushed her to Qi Xun's company.
Qi Xun, worried, scolded both Qi Tian for "weird business" and Shi Lang for taking her out, warning him not to do so again. Shuangshuang pointed out that Qi Tian wasn't allergic to pollen, to which Qi Xun replied that something felt wrong with her. He instructed Shuangshuang to get some water, cutting her off when she tried to mention paying for the flowers, prioritizing Qi Tian's well-being.
Back at the company, Kun Lan was discussing the contract with Director Du when Shuangshuang arrived. Her colleagues were happy to see Kun Lan, noting he had brought more snacks, but Shuangshuang was confused by his presence. Qi Tian, who had briefly recovered, joyfully ran to Kun Lan, but Qi Xun quickly told Shi Lang to take Qi Tian home, despite her protests. Shuangshuang expressed her confusion about being appointed as the chief designer for Kun Lan's project.
Kun Lan, however, affirmed his decision, stating the contract was already signed. Qi Xun, unhappy, demanded that he be included in the project to guide and supervise Shuangshuang, directly announcing this to Kun Lan. Kun Lan vehemently disagreed, arguing that Qi Xun's intervention would restrict Shuangshuang's development, calling it a "birdcage" that would prevent her from showcasing her talent. He declared he would accept any design Shuangshuang produced. Qi Xun, fueled by jealousy, retorted, "My cage, and my decision.
A sparrow has no right to talk." After the tense meeting, Qi Xun presented Shuangshuang with a drawing he had made. She complimented it, saying it looked like him, and she agreed before they left together. While Kun Lan later sent a message to Shuangshuang, having prepared a delicious dinner and waiting for her at home, she didn't reply to his messages or answer his calls, leaving him to regret not picking her up from work.
Instead, Shuangshuang and Qi Xun were at his home, working on design drafts. Qi Tian, Qi Xun's sister, caught Shuangshuang secretly admiring Qi Xun. Qi Tian was curious about what her brother was drawing, but Qi Xun, focused on adjusting company drafts, sent her back to bed. He then offered to make Shuangshuang something to eat, and she happily followed him into the kitchen.
