Shuangshuang was consumed by guilt, feeling she had let many people down. Although Bai Fang tried to comfort her, reminding her that it wasn't her fault, Shuangshuang couldn't shake the feeling of culpability. Qi Xun, however, offered no comfort. Instead, he sharply criticized her, accusing her of screwing up a simple project presentation because her attention was focused on men, or perhaps because she took his trust for granted and didn't take her work seriously.

He even speculated if she was thinking about the man she lived with. Deeply hurt by Qi Xun's words and his perception of her, Shuangshuang angrily left. Director Du, who witnessed the exchange, interjected, telling Qi Xun that Shuangshuang had performed well and he shouldn't blame her. Back in his office, Qi Xun replayed his harsh words and felt a pang of guilt. He silently apologized and wondered if he had made Shuangshuang cry.

But then, he rationalized that he needn't worry, as someone else would surely comfort her. Indeed, Kun Lan found Shuangshuang and, seeing her smile, was relieved. He asked if she was hungry and suggested they go out to eat. Meanwhile, Qi Tian, prompted by a dream, took Shi Lang to a restaurant, hoping to find Kun Lan there.

Shi Lang, initially confused why Qi Tian chose a couples' spot for their outing, soon realized Qi Tian's true intention was to find Kun Lan there. After being told the restaurant was fully booked, Qi Tian was disappointed to realize Kun Lan wasn't there. Shi Lang, trying to cheer her up, offered to take her somewhere else for good food. Kun Lan and Shuangshuang, meanwhile, were at a restaurant with Mouton Rothschild wine.

Kun Lan noticed Shuangshuang was eating very fast, and Shuangshuang admitted that when she was in a bad mood, she tended to gobble down food quickly without much chewing. That evening, Director Du sat with Qi Xun at a restaurant, trying to engage him, asking why he never smiled, noting he looked good when he did. However, Qi Xun remained distant, having no appetite because of Shuangshuang.

Shuangshuang, meanwhile, was getting tipsy with Kun Lan but insisted she wasn't drunk and wanted more alcohol. She asked for black tea, but Kun Lan urged her to go home if she wanted to drink more, offering to pay the bill. Shuangshuang refused, and a tipsy Shuangshuang later encountered a visibly upset Director Du in the restaurant bathroom. They recognized each other from a previous "cut the line" incident and began to bicker.

Director Du declared herself the most hardworking person in the world. Shuangshuang, in turn, proclaimed herself "philosophy," at the "top of the food chain for thoughts," caring not for others' opinions. Director Du countered that she was "mathematics," the stable "rule" of the world. Shuangshuang jokingly expressed her childhood fear of math and how Director Du's face scared her.

Director Du, however, loved mathematics because it was unchanging and provided clear answers, unlike Qi Xun, for whom her efforts seemed futile. She then announced her decision to leave Qi Xun and take on a project far away. Shuangshuang, still tipsy, enthusiastically declared she would join her. They made a pinky promise to go together, walking out of the restaurant arm-in-arm and complaining about Qi Xun, with Shuangshuang humorously calling Qi Xun an "arrogant dog."

The next morning, Qi Xun, arriving at the office, asked his assistant about Shuangshuang, only to learn that she had left on a business trip with Director Du to assist with the hotel project. They were already on their way. Elsewhere, Qi Tian was waiting in a park, hoping to see Kun Lan as in her dream. Shi Lang was with her, observing her eager anticipation.

Meanwhile, Shuangshuang was in a car with Director Du, recalling Qi Xun's harsh words from the day before. Her colleagues were discussing the hotel project, a "super case" to convert an old site, previously a medical camp and then an orphanage, into a five-stars manor. They praised Director Du for successfully securing the project, which other companies had abandoned due to the client's "captious demands." They also mentioned another project, the Qilin Art Gallery, which Qi Xun had secured.

News of a 70% discount for MIST employees at the future Michelin three-star hotel excited everyone. The conversation then subtly turned to a critique of those without a professional design background or works, clearly aimed at Shuangshuang, who had to endure the veiled insults. Later, Director Du took Shuangshuang to a hot spring. Director Du bluntly stated her dislike for Shuangshuang, warning her not to presume closeness just because they had shared a drink.

Shuangshuang acknowledged Director Du's dislike but admitted she admired her. She recalled seeing Director Du fearlessly express her ideas to Qi Xun on their first meeting, wishing she could be as confident, but confessed it was hard for her to reveal her true thoughts to others. Director Du, maintaining her professional demeanor, reiterated her separation of business and personal matters. She acknowledged Shuangshuang's good performance in the previous presentation despite its imperfect outcome.

However, she issued a stern warning: Qi Xun had been acting unusually since Shuangshuang's arrival. She stressed Qi Xun's importance to MIST and to her personally, advising Shuangshuang to keep her distance if she had no genuine interest in him or harbored other intentions. Shuangshuang then asked if Director Du liked Qi Xun, to which Director Du responded by referring to her past actions for him, implying the answer was obvious.

Director Du then gave Shuangshuang ten minutes to meet her in the lobby. Shuangshuang was surprised to find herself assigned to share a room with a gossipy colleague, who had mistakenly thought she had a spacious room all to herself because the hotel was fully booked. The colleague immediately began prying into Shuangshuang's personal life.

She commented on Shuangshuang's old bag, wondering why her rich "boyfriend" hadn't bought her a new one, referencing Kun Lan who had delivered hotpot in a luxury car. Shuangshuang clarified that Kun Lan was just a friend, not a rich businessman or her boyfriend. Undeterred, the colleague then brazenly asked about Shuangshuang's relationship with Qi Xun, wondering if they were secretly involved.

Annoyed by the incessant questioning, Shuangshuang firmly stated that she was at the hotel for work, had no obligation to disclose her privacy to satisfy gossip, and asked her colleague to stop speculating. She then retreated to the living room to rest alone. The next day, the team embarked on a survey of the old site.

They encountered a deaf old woman, and Shuangshuang, out of curiosity, quietly followed her, becoming separated from her colleagues who then unintentionally left her behind. Back in his office, Qi Xun saw a red alert for thunder storm and worried about the hotel project. He tried calling Shuangshuang's phone, but it was unavailable. He then called Director Du, asking about Shuangshuang's whereabouts. Director Du was also unaware, as she believed Shuangshuang had boarded the bus with everyone else. Realizing Shuangshuang was missing, Qi Xun became alarmed and attempted to use his supernatural ability to go to the hotel, but for unknown reasons, his ability failed.
