Qi Xun stood in his office, gazing at Feng Shuangshuang’s empty desk, his mind replaying their past together. He reflected on how his life had been dull and empty before meeting her, but after encountering Feng Shuangshuang, he finally felt a strong heartbeat within him. She allowed him to experience emotions like nervousness, worry, and jealousy for the first time, and he finally understood what it meant to laugh from the heart.

He even wondered if she would have been with Kun Lan, laughing heartily, had they not met. He acknowledged that she had pulled him back from the abyss of his life, and he couldn’t even fully express how much he truly liked her. He recalled the incident before his presentation, when he saw Feng Shuangshuang with Kun Lan, looking so close. He didn't understand why it bothered him so much at the time.

Even when it wasn't her fault, he couldn't stop himself from humiliating and criticizing her, questioning if someone focused on men could produce good work. He admitted that he thought acting that way would make him feel better, but seeing her visibly hurt only made him feel worse than ever. He remembered the day it poured, and when he finally found her on the mountain, his panicked heart settled the moment she turned to him.

He instinctively ran to her, hugging her tightly to confirm her safety, realizing then how terrified he was of losing her. However, he then acknowledged the grave mistake he made, when Feng Shuangshuang overheard him saying deeply hurtful things—that he only approached her to save Qi Tian and wouldn’t give up. He knew how much courage it took for her to be with him, yet he had still hurt her.

He recalled her pained questions: "When you said you like me, that you love me, and even your kiss, are those real?" The pain he felt then was unimaginable. During their time apart, he missed her every day and worried constantly, always hoping that when he woke up, everything would return to how it was when they were together.

But when he finally saw her and wanted to embrace her, she instinctively stepped back, avoiding him and treating him like a stranger. The agony was beyond words. He swore to himself then that he would never hurt her again, yet he was repeatedly the one who caused her pain. Thinking of their happy memories, he wished to kiss her again, see her bright smile, and have her embrace him.

He missed her bashfulness when someone called her his wife, and the adorable way she’d fall asleep while watching a silent film she’d specially found for him. He had wanted to protect her for the rest of his life and start a family with her, loving and spoiling her forever. But now, he concluded, he must let go, offering only a heartfelt "I am sorry." Feng Shuangshuang continued to weep as she ate.

Feng Yun tried to comfort her, revealing that he hadn't told her some things earlier to spare her pain. He advised her not to be too upset, believing that some things are destined from the start and cannot be changed. Feng Shuangshuang expressed her fear that Qi Xun wouldn't want to see her, as it would only remind him of Qi Tian's passing and bring them both torment.

She confessed that she couldn't happily enjoy their love after Qi Tian's sacrifice, as the thought of their relationship being built on Qi Tian's life was a barrier she couldn't overcome. She believed they were perhaps destined to be apart, and tried to cope with her sorrow by constantly drawing and cleaning. Two years later, Qi Xun remained relentless in his search for Qi Tian.

He had plastered her photos everywhere and traveled extensively, rushing to any lead, searching high and low across the country, with anywhere becoming his resting place and a simple bento or cup noodles his meal. He made phone calls to contacts for any leads, especially for "a girl with big eyes and a tall boy." He had already searched all over the country and asked his contacts to focus on overseas locations. One day, he received a parcel.

Inside were numerous photos of Qi Tian and Shi Lang together in various places from the past two years, along with their wedding photos and a postcard. The postcard explained that Shi Lang hadn't contacted Qi Xun out of fear of being scolded, and asked Qi Xun not to be angry the next time he saw him.

Overwhelmed with emotion, Qi Xun shed tears of joy and relief, finally knowing his sister was well, crying uncontrollably as he ate while looking at their wedding photos. At the company building, Feng Shuangshuang continued working on her painting, which now included two new figures: Qi Xun and herself. Qi Xun approached her quietly from behind and softly called her name. She paused, tears welling in her eyes, but did not turn and continued painting.

Qi Xun then said, "I am back." Feng Shuangshuang turned sharply and slapped him across the face, then quickly resumed painting. Undeterred, Qi Xun tenderly declared, "I miss you so much." Her tears streaming down, Feng Shuangshuang turned and repeatedly hit him. Qi Xun pulled her into a tight embrace, apologizing profusely and telling her he loved her. Feng Shuangshuang buried her face in his shoulder, sobbing uncontrollably.

Feng Yun, who had arrived with food for Feng Shuangshuang, quietly sat aside and watched their reunion, a mixture of tears and smiles on his face as he ate. Director Du later visited Feng Shuangshuang, sharing that she had lost contact with Kun Lan after their project to rebuild Hope Elementary, but found happiness in her architecture career. She also reassured Feng Shuangshuang that Qin Ran had grown up and she no longer needed to worry about him.

Feng Shuangshuang expressed her sincere gratitude to Director Du. Director Du then returned Feng Shuangshuang's resignation letter, assuring her that MIST would always welcome her back, and wished her happiness as she left. Amidst falling peach blossoms, Qi Xun kissed Feng Shuangshuang on the forehead, and she beautifully incorporated the scene into her painting. Elsewhere, Shi Lang proudly admired his improved photo editing skills, having digitally altered all his pictures to include Qi Tian.

Kun Lan was also with Shi Lang, traveling around and appreciating the scenery, seemingly carrying Qi Tian with them wherever they went. He Zhengchang, meanwhile, found peace in his spiritual journey, calmly praying to Buddha statues. Back at the company, Director Du was busy with work, reviewing design plans and scheduling interviews. Her assistant introduced the latest intern, Zhang Lichuan, who looked exactly like Qi Xun but wore glasses.
