Flipped Episode 12 Recap
> Flipped Recap
Tian Tian, having bought a wedding dress, reflected on the sweet romance between her brother and Shuangshuang. She envisioned a future where she, healthy and beautiful, would stand before Kun Lan as his bride, believing that all her dreams would eventually come true, no matter how long it took. Meanwhile, Kun Lan visited Feng Yun, who was deeply worried about Shuangshuang.
Feng Yun noted it was Shuangshuang's birthday and she wasn't with Kun Lan, expressing his concern and suggesting they go find her immediately. Later, as Qi Xun and Shuangshuang were about to part ways, Qi Xun presented her with a puppy-shaped coin purse.
He explained that since she often playfully called him a "noble dog" and loved to wander, the purse, filled with various cards for coffee, beauty/SPA, clothes, banking, supermarkets, libraries, cinemas, credit, and shopping, would ensure she could handle any situation even when he wasn't by her side. Touched by his thoughtfulness, Shuangshuang hugged him for an extended moment. Their embrace was witnessed by Feng Yun, who had arrived with Kun Lan. Qi Xun boldly introduced himself as Shuangshuang's boyfriend.
Although initially cold, Feng Yun instructed Shuangshuang, Qi Xun, and Kun Lan to accompany him. As they walked, Qi Xun and Kun Lan couldn't help but engage in their usual playful bickering. At a hotpot dinner celebrating Shuangshuang's birthday, Qi Xun apologized to Feng Yun for not visiting sooner. Feng Yun, recognizing Qi Xun as the owner of MIST, questioned if he wasn't busy enough as a boss, implying he was taking advantage of his employee.
Shuangshuang deftly diffused the tension by asking for vinegar. While Kun Lan went to get it, Qi Xun swiftly took the seat next to Shuangshuang. When Kun Lan returned, he had no choice but to sit opposite them, and their rivalry continued. They even bickered in the washroom, with Qi Xun threatening to hack Kun Lan's company computers if he mentioned a past incident again.
Back at the table, Kun Lan inquired about Feng Yun's conflict with the art dealer, Lu Jinbiao. Feng Yun recounted how Lu Jinbiao, who had initially helped him, had later stolen his paintings, including one precious oil painting of a lady by a lake that held profound personal significance. Feng Yun expressed his determination to retrieve it. Both Kun Lan and Qi Xun, seeing an opportunity to gain Feng Yun's favor, abruptly excused themselves, rushing off to find the painting.
Feng Yun was surprised by their sudden, albeit competitive, unity. When Feng Yun later asked Shuangshuang which of the two men she preferred, she affectionately told him she liked him the most. As Feng Yun and Shuangshuang headed home, she asked him why that particular painting was so important. Feng Yun explained it was the only portrait he had ever dared to paint of her mother before her passing, a challenging endeavor due to her unique beauty.
Shuangshuang then asked about her mother's appearance, to which Feng Yun responded that she was beautiful, just like Shuangshuang, with sparkling, dancing eyes, and that both of them were gifts from God. He also confessed his greatest regret was failing to protect her mother and that he had promised to keep Shuangshuang safe. Qi Xun and Kun Lan, despite their rivalry, worked in tandem to locate Lu Jinbiao.
Using their respective connections, they tracked him down and overheard him on a phone call issuing threats regarding Feng Yun's paintings and demanding money. They confronted Lu Jinbiao, tied him up, and, after some playful torment that involved tickling, he revealed the painting was in his car. Qi Xun retrieved the artwork. Upon seeing the woman in the portrait, Qi Xun was stunned, recognizing her as the same woman he had seen during his parents' fatal car accident years ago.
He immediately used his teleportation ability to appear at Shi Lang's house, demanding that he quickly identify the woman in the painting. Meanwhile, Kun Lan, searching the warehouse in vain, realized Qi Xun had taken the painting. He also had a profound realization: if Xun Xue, Shuangshuang's mother, was a healer, then Shuangshuang must be the next in line, and the lake painting Shuangshuang drew in the gallery held significant meaning.
He rushed to Shuangshuang, urgently telling her that Qi Xun had stolen her father's painting and they needed to get it back, without providing further explanation. At home, Tian Tian, having purchased a wedding dress and dreaming of her future with Kun Lan, used her ESP to glimpse ahead. She witnessed a tearful Kun Lan standing before a tombstone engraved with "Here Lies Qi Tian," realizing he was mourning her death. Distraught, she fainted and fell into the swimming pool.
Luckily, Kun Lan and Shuangshuang arrived and quickly rescued her. Shuangshuang performed artificial respiration, using her healing abilities to revive Tian Tian. However, the exertion was too great, and Shuangshuang collapsed, unconscious. Qi Xun arrived at that moment, witnessing Shuangshuang's dire state. He now understood the grave truth: Shuangshuang, as a healer, could save his sister, but at the potential cost of her own life.
