On their wedding night, Qiao Yan felt overwhelmed with nervousness. She called Miao for advice, who lightheartedly suggested she shouldn't be so tense and encouraged her to have some wine, quoting, "Alcohol makes a coward bold." Although Qiao Yan initially protested, calling herself no coward, she found a bottle of wine. Unbeknownst to her, Lin Ze was nearby.

He had unintentionally overheard Miao's words and, while on his phone, commented to himself about Gu Jingyuan's previous encounter with Qiao Yan in the office. Qiao Yan drank the whole bottle. When Gu Jingyuan emerged from his shower, he found Qiao Yan already quite tipsy, much to his amusement and slight exasperation. He called her "Yan Yan" and expressed his joy that they were finally married.

Qiao Yan, in her inebriated state, tried to drink more, proudly declaring that "nothing but alcohol flows in her veins." When Gu Jingyuan attempted to get her water, she stopped him, boldly complimented his physique, and even referred to him as "Little Uncle," a nickname he immediately asked her to cease. She then possessively told him, "Gu Jingyuan, you are mine now."

Gu Jingyuan, looking at her with affection, reassured her with a vow, "No matter now or in the future, I'll always be yours. . . I will protect you no matter how dangerous or difficult it is. . . as long as you want it, I'll bring it to you." Qiao Yan then sleepily mumbled her desires and had intended to kiss Gu Jingyuan before drifting off to sleep as the alcohol took effect.

The next morning, Qiao Yan woke up disoriented, asking Gu Jingyuan why he was in her room before recalling they were married. When he asked if she remembered anything from the previous night, she quickly retreated to the bathroom, instructing him to get her some honey water. In the bathroom, she had vivid flashbacks of her drunken declarations, including her boast about having "nothing but alcohol" in her veins and her bold move to touch him.

Mortified, she realized the extent of her actions on their wedding night. Gu Jingyuan later brought her honey water, playfully calling her "Goddess of Alcohol." Qiao Yan apologized profusely for drinking too much, explaining that Miao had told her "alcohol makes a coward bold." Gu Jingyuan chuckled at her explanation, then playfully asked how she intended to "make up for our wedding night yesterday."

Qiao Yan responded by kissing him, but their moment was abruptly interrupted when old Mr. Gu, Yue, and Uncle Xu unexpectedly entered the room. Old Mr. Gu remarked on their late start, while Yue announced breakfast was ready. The three quickly retreated, leaving Qiao Yan to chastise Gu Jingyuan for not locking the door. Downstairs for breakfast, Qiao Yan greeted old Mr. Gu as "Grandpa," while Gu Jingyuan addressed him as "Dad."

Old Mr. Gu inquired if they planned to maintain these titles. Qiao Yan playfully offered to call him "Dad" as well, and Gu Jingyuan expressed his happiness to be his grandson-in-law. Old Mr. Gu ultimately decided they should continue with their usual address and urged them to eat. During breakfast, Gu Jingyuan gently advised Qiao Yan, the "Goddess of Alcohol," to be kind to her stomach after the previous night's drinking.

Qiao Yan, in turn, teased him, asking if he was more concerned about her stomach or about her inability to "make it up to him." Gu Jingyuan blushed, much to her amusement. Their affectionate banter prompted old Mr. Gu to interject, reminding them to "find a proper occasion to show your intimacy" and complaining about feeling like a "third wheel."

He then lamented that Gu Jingyuan had "taken away his granddaughter" and Qiao Yan had "taken away his son," leaving him feeling alone. Qiao Yan playfully accused him of being jealous. To appease him, she charmingly explained that she had brought him a grandson-in-law, and Gu Jingyuan had brought him a daughter-in-law, calling it "keeping the good fortune within the family." Old Mr. Gu was delighted by her sweet words and told them to continue eating.

Before heading to the company, Gu Jingyuan discussed with old Mr. Gu his plan to resign from his position, now that he was no longer an adopted son of the Gu family, to prevent any gossip. He suggested that Qiao Yan, being intelligent and capable, could take over the company, and he would assist her. Qiao Yan, however, quickly objected, pointing out her lack of experience and inability to even read a balance sheet.

She reminded Gu Jingyuan of their pre-marriage agreement: "You make money and I spend it." Old Mr. Gu intervened, stating that he would no longer meddle in their affairs and looked forward to having grandchildren, advising them to handle matters as adults.

At the company, as Qiao Yan and Gu Jingyuan arrived for a meeting with senior executives, some of the staff expressed concerns about Qiao Yan's inexperience and the possibility of Gu Jingyuan leaving, fearing the company would be left without strong leadership. Qiao Yan, addressing the executives, acknowledged their worries regarding Gu Jingyuan's potential departure. She firmly assured them that Gu Jingyuan's position at the Gu's Group "won't change."

She clarified that although he had relinquished his adopted son status, he remained her husband and therefore "still a member of the Gu family." Qiao Yan declared that she would "focus on taking care of my grandpa at home," entrusting Gu Jingyuan to "forge ahead with developing the Gu's Group" with their collective effort.

She also stated that as the heiress, she would utilize this period to "learn the business of the company" and urged everyone to offer their "full support." The executives responded with pledges of support and expressed confidence in the company's future with both of them. That evening, Qiao Yan, hoping to recreate their wedding night, prepared a romantic setting with candles in their bedroom.

She called Miao to confirm her plans, assuring her she wouldn't drink too much this time and would wait for Gu Jingyuan to enjoy the night together. She then texted Gu Jingyuan, who was working late, asking if he was still busy. He initially replied that he would be home late and she should sleep first, but quickly followed up with a message saying he would "be right back."

Meanwhile, Lu Wanqing arrived at Gu Jingyuan's office to deliver a wedding gift. She made it clear she wouldn't take much of his time, knowing he was eager to return to his "newlywed wife." After congratulating him, she stated that his apparent happiness made her "not regret not taking you away from her." Lu Wanqing then revealed that Qin Ziyu liked Qiao Yan and had asked for her help to "make you break up," cautioning Gu Jingyuan to "be careful."

(An earlier conversation between Qin Ziyu and Lu Wanqing had shown Qin Ziyu confessing his love for Qiao Yan despite his father's role in her parents' death, and his determination not to give her up, trying to form an alliance with Lu Wanqing. ) Lu Wanqing then asked Gu Jingyuan for a hug, clarifying that she meant nothing more by it. Gu Jingyuan, ever the gentleman, obliged, telling her, "One day, you will find your Mr. Right."

Just as they were embracing, Qiao Yan arrived at the office. Seeing them, Gu Jingyuan immediately tried to reassure her, saying, "I'm here to take you home. Don't be jealous." Lu Wanqing quickly added that she was merely congratulating "Brother Yuan" on his marriage and had brought a gift. Qiao Yan, however, responded with a sarcastic remark, "Why would Yan Yan be jealous? Why did you come in person?"

Gu Jingyuan expressed that he missed her, and Qiao Yan echoed the sentiment. Seizing the opportunity while holding his arm, Qiao Yan fiercely pinched Gu Jingyuan's arm. Lu Wanqing, clearly uncomfortable, declared, "If you want to be intimate, go home first. Think about me. I don't want to see this. Bye!" and promptly left. Qiao Yan, seething, also stormed out, with Gu Jingyuan quickly following after her, calling her name.
