> Fall in You Recap

Following Qin Mian's imprisonment, Qin Ziyu entered a painting room, recalling childhood gossip from housemaids who claimed Mr. Qin never loved his wife, but married her for family wealth, and that the room contained paintings of his old lover, Yuling. Young Qin Ziyu had once tried to burn those paintings, declaring he didn't want "bad people's stuff" in his home, which enraged Qin Mian and led to a confrontation where his mother intervened.

Later, on the day of Qin Mian's arrest, Qin Ziyu confronted him, asking if he had ever truly loved his mother. Qin Mian confessed that Yuling was the "only woman" he had ever loved. Qin Ziyu then asked if Qin Mian had ever loved him, to which Qin Mian remained silent.

Though Qin Mian had previously told Qin Ziyu that he would always be his beloved son and entrusted the Qin company to him, he offered no answer when Qin Ziyu repeated his question about whether he truly loved him. Qin Ziyu, in a long-overdue outburst, then proceeded to smash the contents of the painting room.

Gu Jingyuan had been deliberately avoiding Qiao Yan, even turning away from home when he saw her messages, claiming to be working late despite Qiao Yan spotting his car. Qiao Yan had been feeling unwell and confined to her room. One evening, Gu Changfeng, pleased with Gu's Group's success, urged Gu Jingyuan to consider marriage. Gu Jingyuan expressed no immediate plans, citing the new project.

Gu Changfeng then proposed a strategic alliance with the He family, highlighting He Yue's admiration for Gu Jingyuan and the benefits of such a union, adding that both marriage and career are important. Suspecting Gu Jingyuan might have someone else in mind, Gu Changfeng watched him closely. Gu Jingyuan, glancing at a visibly distressed Qiao Yan, denied having any romantic interest. Gu Changfeng then insisted on inviting the He family over.

Later that night, Qiao Yan confronted Gu Jingyuan, asking about his intentions regarding He Yue. Gu Jingyuan reassured her, stating he would not marry He Yue because he knew Qiao Yan disliked her, and he would choose a sister-in-law who could get along with her. Qiao Yan, deeply hurt, questioned if his concern was merely due to his role as her uncle and pressed him about her previous confession of feelings.

Gu Jingyuan repeatedly cut her off, refusing to let her continue, which solidified Qiao Yan's understanding of his stance. Tearfully, she declared she wouldn't trouble him further, calling him "Uncle" before returning to her room. Gu Jingyuan watched her leave, expressing his internal conflict—he wanted her by his side but felt compelled to push her away.

The He family arrived at the Gu residence, and He Yue immediately engaged in outwardly affectionate behavior with Gu Jingyuan, which deeply upset Qiao Yan. Although she initially wanted to avoid dinner, Gu Changfeng insisted she join to "advise" on her uncle's future wife. At the dinner table, Qiao Yan remained visibly unhappy. Gu Changfeng directed Gu Jingyuan to peel shrimp for He Yue, which he did with mechanical obedience, though his attention remained fixed on Qiao Yan.

When Mr. He inquired about Qiao Yan's preferred type of man, suggesting a musician, Qiao Yan stated she didn't like musicians. She then gave a remarkably detailed description of her ideal man: someone quiet, cold, fierce, unapproachable, sneaky, sharp-tongued, yet childish and deeply soft-hearted, who remembers all his responsibilities and promises, appearing instantly when needed, always showing his strong side but silently enduring much sadness and misunderstanding for those he cares about.

Gu Changfeng recognized this as a description of Gu Jingyuan, and the He family also understood the implication. After peeling the shrimp, Gu Jingyuan instinctively offered them to Qiao Yan, much to He Yue's fury and Gu Changfeng's embarrassment, who quickly downplayed it as an uncle's affection for his niece. Qiao Yan, having barely eaten, excused herself. Gu Changfeng instructed Gu Jingyuan to remain and entertain He Yue. After excusing herself from dinner, Qiao Yan retreated to her room.

From her window, she overheard Gu Jingyuan and He Yue conversing in the garden. She then closed her window and began playing the violin. He Yue expressed to Gu Jingyuan that in their affluent circles, love was absent in marriage, which was more accurately an "alliance" for family cooperation. Despite this, she admitted to genuinely liking him and offered him everything of the He family if they married, arguing it was better than being "the Gu family's dog."

Gu Jingyuan countered that if he could protect the Gu family, he didn't mind being called a dog. He Yue, realizing the depth of his feelings, pointedly stated that he had fallen for Qiao Yan, reminding him of their familial relationship and Gu Changfeng's likely disapproval. Gu Jingyuan curtly dismissed her, saying his matters were his own and excusing himself. He then walked to Qiao Yan's room, looking at her with evident pain and tenderness.

Gu Jingyuan attempted to confront Gu Changfeng, but his father angrily interrupted him, calling him "shameless" for considering a relationship with his niece and declaring him unworthy of the Gu family name. Gu Changfeng emphasized Gu Jingyuan's responsibility as the head of the company to uphold the Gu family's reputation, warning him that some truths were best left unsaid because "it's wrong if you say it out loud."

Later, Gu Changfeng informed Qiao Yan that he had agreed to let her return to Germany to complete her studies and intended to accompany her himself. Qiao Yan, feeling conflicted, asked for time to consider. Gu Changfeng, fully aware of her feelings, stated explicitly that he would never permit her and Gu Jingyuan to be together.

Gu Jingyuan's assistant informed him that a strategic partnership signing ceremony between Gu's and He's Group was scheduled, where his engagement to He Yue would be publicly announced. Rumors quickly spread throughout the company about the impending engagement, leaving employees to wonder about Lu Wanqing's fate, who they had expected to become "Mrs. Gu."

Upon hearing the news, Lu Wanqing was enraged, vehemently stating that Gu Jingyuan could never like a woman like He Yue and vowing to prevent Gu Changfeng from using him for a business alliance as long as she was around. Qiao Yan spent several evenings out with her friend Miao, but despite Miao's attempts to cheer her up, Qiao Yan remained unhappy.

She expressed her frustration, lamenting that Gu Jingyuan was a "coward" and seemed not to like her, despite her efforts. During one such outing, they found Qin Ziyu severely inebriated. At the hospital, the medical staff diagnosed him with moderate alcohol intoxication. When Miao suggested contacting Qin Ziyu's family, Qiao Yan revealed he had none.

She sent Miao home, insisting on staying by Qin Ziyu's side, explaining that she wanted to speak with him once he woke up, adding that she didn't blame him and felt he shouldn't have ended up in such a state. As Qiao Yan sat with Qin Ziyu, he briefly woke and muttered "Dad." Tearfully, Qiao Yan apologized, told him she missed him, and pleaded, "Don't go." The next morning, Qiao Yan's landlord inquired about her late nights with Miao.

Miao playfully suggested that Qiao Yan was "in love," much to the landlord's surprise. The landlord quickly reported to Gu Jingyuan that Qiao Yan was "in love." Gu Jingyuan immediately tried to call Qiao Yan, but her phone was unreachable.
