Zhao Mosheng returns home to find her light bulb burnt out, prompting her to go to the supermarket. There, a security guard approaches her, recognizing her from a photo he found inside a lost wallet. He asks if the wallet is hers, but Mosheng denies it. He insists she look inside, and she sees a photo of herself. Despite this, Mosheng still refuses to take the wallet, explaining it’s not hers.

The guard, convinced the owner must be connected to her, encourages her to keep it, hoping to play matchmaker. At home, Mosheng examines the wallet. She ponders whether it could belong to He Yichen, but wonders why he would keep her photo if he seems reluctant to see her. She flips the photo over and sees "my sunshine" written on the back, instantly recognizing Yichen's handwriting. With no other identification inside, she decides to take the wallet to the Y.

X. H. Law Firm. Upon arrival, she learns He Yichen is in court and won't be back for a couple of hours. She leaves the wallet with a receptionist named Mei Ting to pass on to him. Meanwhile, at Mosheng’s magazine office, the Editor-in-Chief announces a significant success: the latest issue, featuring international model David Morgan on the cover, is selling exceptionally well, with sales up by 50%.

Colleagues praise Mosheng for her successful work in securing Morgan, acknowledging her experience abroad. Back at the law firm, He Yichen sternly reprimands two junior lawyers for misremembering a court date, emphasizing the potential severe consequences for their client. Shortly after, Lawyer Yuan approaches Yichen with the returned wallet, teasing him about a mysterious woman who delivered it and accusing him of deceiving women for money and sex.

Yuan speculates about Yichen's personal life, suggesting the woman waited in a cafe until he left the office before bringing it in. Yichen immediately understands Mosheng was the one who returned his wallet, but upon opening it, he discovers his photo is missing. Yichen's thoughts drift back to his college days, specifically their first encounter. He recalls Mosheng, a persistent freshman, chasing him around campus to learn his name after he caught her secretly photographing him under a tree.

He eventually revealed his name as He Yichen, a sophomore in International Law. Later, at Mosheng's magazine office, her colleague Xiao Hong excitedly informs her that a handsome man is waiting to see her, praising his gentlemanly appearance. The visitor is He Yichen, who formally addresses Mosheng as "Miss Zhao," prompting her to respond hesitantly with "Mr. He." Yichen explains he is Xiao Xiao's lawyer and has come to retrieve the photo from his wallet, in addition to discussing business.

Mosheng argues the photo belongs to her since she is the subject, but Yichen advises against debating ownership with a lawyer. He states he wants the photo back as a reminder of a "stupid past." Mosheng claims the photo isn't with her. Yichen says he will pick it up the next day, but Mosheng insists she will bring it to him instead.

That evening, after a celebratory dinner with her colleagues, Mosheng walks home alone, her mind returning to Yichen's words about a "foolish past." This leads her to recall her very first day of college. She remembered refusing her father's offer to drive her to the dorm, eager to explore the campus independently. While taking pictures of the scenery, she spotted Yichen reading under a tree and secretly snapped a photo.

When he confronted her, she playfully pretended to be photographing the landscape. He eventually gave her his name. Upon arriving at her dorm, she warmly greeted her new roommates and enthusiastically suggested they take a group photo to commemorate their first meeting. Throughout her early college days, Mosheng developed a deep crush on He Yichen and persistently pursued him.

She gave him the developed photo she had taken of him, trying to engage him in conversation or invite him for a meal, even going so far as to copy his class schedule to find him or bring him drinks at the library. However, Yichen consistently maintained a distant demeanor, advising her to stop following him and wasting her time.

Her roommates gossiped about a bold girl from the Chemistry Department chasing the "cold idol" of the Law Department, only to be surprised when Mosheng revealed it was her. They tried to console her when Yichen rejected her advances, explaining that he was reportedly not looking for a relationship that year. Mosheng, however, took this as a sign of his focused nature, which only intensified her feelings for him.
