Wu Nongyu is deeply moved by her brother’s apparent change of heart. Wu Siyuan admits that he sincerely regrets his past actions against the Ren and feels a heavy sense of guilt for his mistakes. Nongyu, half-joking, teases that it must have been Li Xiang’s love that finally reformed him.
She playfully suggests exposing all the corruption within the Special Administration Bureau together, even if it means Siyuan has to go to prison, promising that she and Li Xiang will visit him every day with good food. Siyuan, amused by his sister’s eagerness to see him behind bars, records a video of her "backstabbing" him, and they share a warm moment as she labels him the best brother in the world. However, Xie Xinxu remains troubled.
When Nongyu shows him the video and explains that Siyuan is already organizing evidence against the Bureau, Xinxu remains hesitant, asking for more time to process his feelings. Determined to protect his sister and settle his debts, Wu Siyuan messages Director Xia to ask if she wants the first two fragments. They arrange a meeting in an underground parking garage. Siyuan presents a small box containing the fragments, which Xia immediately sends for verification.
Xia praises Siyuan for supposedly choosing the greater good over family ties, but Siyuan coldly corrects her, explaining that he is surrendering the fragments specifically as a trade for the safety of Wu Nongyu and Xie Xinxu. Xia agrees to the deal but adds a lethal condition: she cannot allow a traitor to remain alive. She demands that Siyuan disappear along with the fragments.
Siyuan, feeling that Li Xiang’s death has already effectively ended his life, accepts the terms but threatens to have his associates release evidence of Xia’s crimes to the higher-ups if she breaks her word. Xia suggests that he die in an abandoned building near the Bureau during a staged mission. Siyuan scorns her, remarking that she is far more terrifying than any Ren because she chooses to be a villain of her own free will.
Siyuan travels to the abandoned building and activates an explosive device, sitting quietly as he waits for the end. Meanwhile, Wu Nongyu’s watch—which is linked to Siyuan as her emergency contact—notifies her that he is in a dangerous location. She and Xie Xinxu rush to the site, where Xinxu insists she stay back while he enters the unstable building. Xinxu finds Siyuan and, refusing to let him die, hoists him onto his back to carry him out.
Siyuan admits that Xinxu has exceeded his expectations and that Nongyu made the right choice. In a final test of their bond, Siyuan snaps his fingers, triggering the subconscious training command that once bound Xinxu. Although Xinxu’s knees buckle instinctively, he refuses to drop Siyuan, driven by his desire to keep Nongyu from being heartbroken.
As they struggle toward the exit, Siyuan reveals a dark secret: on the day Xinxu’s parents died, it was Siyuan who had sent the squad to their house. Just as the building begins to collapse, Wu Nongyu appears and calls out to them. Siyuan looks at her one last time and tells Xinxu that he is leaving him with a massive mess to clean up. He then allows himself to fall backward into the crumbling ruins, disappearing beneath the debris.
In his final moments, Siyuan’s mind drifts to a vision of a peaceful life where he finally keeps his promise to watch television until the end with Li Xiang. Outside the wreckage, Nongyu hysterically blames Xinxu for failing to save her brother. Xinxu, reeling from the revelation that Siyuan helped kill his parents, argues that Siyuan deserved his fate.
He asks Nongyu to forget her brother so they can be each other’s only world, but Nongyu responds with a sharp slap. She calls him a cold-blooded monster and declares that she would never choose him over her brother. Realizing he is no longer her priority, Xinxu’s demeanor turns cold, and he decides he will no longer center his life around her.
As Nongyu desperately tries to dig through the rubble, the building shifts again, and falling debris knocks her unconscious. As Xinxu pauses to look at her, a pterosaur suddenly descends from the sky.
