Wu Nongyu finally enjoyed a hearty meal, relief washing over her after starving herself to fit into her wedding dress. As she ate, Xie Xinxu teased her for her ravenous appetite, but she defended herself, claiming the "starving ghost" routine was the price of bridal beauty. He sincerely complimented her looks, and she playfully returned the praise, noting his striking appearance. To provide a sense of security, Xie Xinxu gifted her a pendant coated in a potent anesthetic.
He explained she could use it if he ever lost control or broke their agreement, affectionately calling her his "wife" for the first time. On the wedding day, after a video call with her brother, Wu Siyuan, Wu Nongyu was approached by Xia Yuyan. Offering a glass of water, Xia Yuyan watched as the bride seemingly succumbed to a liquid sedative within seconds. She then brought a man into the room to violate Wu Nongyu.
However, Wu Nongyu had noticed Xia Yuyan’s black nail polish and suspected foul play, only pretending to pass out. Once Xia Yuyan left, Wu Nongyu sprang up and knocked the intruder unconscious. Rushing to the ceremony to prevent Siyuan from discovering that the groom had been swapped, Wu Nongyu was intercepted by a wedding-gown-clad Xia Yuyan. The two women fought, but Wu Nongyu was quickly overwhelmed.
Just as she cowered in fear, Xie Xinxu appeared and knocked Xia Yuyan out with a vase. With no time to spare, Wu Nongyu hurried to the altar. As Xie Xinxu was signing the marriage certificate, Wu Nongyu used a party popper to spray confetti directly into Siyuan’s eyes.
Blinded and unable to see that the groom was Xie Xinxu instead of Lin Juan, Siyuan hurriedly handed his sister’s hand over to the "groom" before rushing off to wash his eyes. Xie Xinxu, amused by her cleverness, proceeded with the ceremony. They exchanged rings and vows, pledging to be bound together in life and death. Xie Xinxu promised his love would be infinite, and the ceremony concluded with a passionate kiss as the guests cheered.
That evening, Wu Nongyu found the room freezing and realized Xie Xinxu was in distress. Xia Yuyan had drugged the wedding champagne with a potent substance. Despite drinking several bottles of cold water, his condition worsened. When Wu Nongyu suggested finding a doctor, Xie Xinxu pulled her into his arms, desperately seeking the comfort of her scent. Though she initially tried to pull away, he held her on the bed, admitting her presence helped him stay in control.
He restrained his impulses, asking her only to stay by his side and reminding her to use the anesthetic pendant if necessary. they spent the night together in a peaceful embrace. The next morning, Wu Nongyu woke up in Xie Xinxu’s arms just as the doorbell rang. It was Wu Siyuan, arriving for lunch.
As the two men faced each other, they both recalled their previous violent encounter in a secret room, where Xie Xinxu had promised Siyuan a "surprise" the next time they met. While Wu Nongyu panicked, unsure how to explain the situation, Xie Xinxu boldly pulled her close, meeting Siyuan’s shocked gaze with a look of pure provocation.
