Qin Mother expressed her deep disappointment in Qin Gang, lamenting that she had failed as a mother, especially given his initial indifferent attitude. She questioned when he would finally grow up, reflecting on how she had spoiled him since childhood, giving him the best of everything, only for him to still be at the starting line, never moving. She criticized his car dealership, which was barely surviving, and most importantly, her failure to instill a sense of responsibility in him.
Qin Mother then tearfully revealed that doctors in America had given her a terminal diagnosis, leaving her with only three months to live. Qin Gang was shocked and shed tears, in denial, insisting that modern medicine could cure any disease and they had the resources to find a cure. Qin Mother, however, expressed her only wish was for Qin Gang, Wan Xinxin, and their grandson to live well together, stating she would die content if that happened.
Later, Qin Gang called Dr. Jia, who confirmed Qin Mother's condition was indeed very serious, having consulted with specialists in America. Dr. Jia advised Qin Gang to ensure his mother remained in good spirits, as any significant emotional distress could lead to serious danger for her. Qin Gang then sought out Liu Wei, apologizing on behalf of his mother for her past actions.
Liu Wei, however, told him there was no need to apologize, as she understood Qin Mother's actions were for his own good despite her misunderstandings. Qin Gang then told Liu Wei that his mother wanted him to pursue Wan Xinxin seriously this time, given her limited time. Liu Wei was visibly upset, stating she was tired of pretending and didn't care about the property.
She confessed her jealousy and hurt whenever she saw him with Wan Xinxin and wished to find the best doctors to treat his mother instead of continuing this charade. Qin Gang, firm in his decision, reiterated that he "must win Wan Xinxin back." After he left, Liu Wei, feeling desperate, immediately called Jiang Kaiyang, telling him to meet her at "the usual place," implying they would accelerate their action plan.
Jiang Kaiyang later discussed the acquisition of a dealership with Liu Wei, noting its flaws made it an opportunity, showcasing his ambition. Qin Gang went to the gallery to see Wan Xinxin, who was initially annoyed and asked him to leave, reminding him that she and Hua Ming were about to get their marriage license. Qin Gang, however, persisted, even suggesting she could divorce Hua Ming and remarry him.
When Wan Xinxin expressed her anger at being used, Qin Gang emotionally pleaded with her, revealing his mother's terminal illness and asking her to help his mother live out her final three months happily, even if not for him, then for Qin Mother's past kindness. He offered her anything she wanted in return, promising her freedom after three months. Wan Xinxin was taken aback by the news. Wan Xinxin visited Qin's house with her baby.
Qin Mother was overjoyed, showering the baby with affection. She eagerly invited Wan Xinxin and the baby to move back in, expressing how her anxious heart had finally found peace seeing them. Wan Xinxin, however, explained it wasn't convenient and mentioned that she and Hua Ming were "getting married soon," much to Qin Mother's awkwardness. After Wan Xinxin left, Qin Mother called Hua Ming, requesting a private meeting to discuss something difficult to explain over the phone.
When Qin Mother met Hua Ming, he questioned why she had investigated him. Qin Mother, acknowledging her business nature, explained that she was the anonymous donor for Huaming Online's substantial funds, which Hua Ming had used to take patients to the United States for treatment. She apologized for the investigation, citing the significant amount of money involved. Hua Ming expressed his gratitude for her support in helping him realize his dream of helping more people through Huaming Online.
Qin Mother then revealed she needed to be a "villain" because the matter concerned Wan Xinxin, the mother of her grandson. She explained that two events had deeply scarred Wan Xinxin: her father's death three years ago due to an "irresponsible doctor," and Qin Gang's divorce. Qin Mother then asked Hua Ming how he intended to explain the situation to Wan Xinxin, knowing he was that very doctor.
Hua Ming stated his intention to tell Wan Xinxin himself at the right time, maintaining that his decision three years ago as a doctor was correct and he had no regrets. Qin Mother vehemently disagreed, arguing it would be selfish and devastating for Wan Xinxin to learn that the man she loved was responsible for her father's death. She advised Hua Ming to keep the secret and "leave Wan Xinxin," suggesting "the further away you go, the better."
Hua Ming protested, saying he loved Xinxin and leaving her would also cause pain. Qin Mother countered, saying it was a choice between two evils, and while his leaving might make Xinxin think he was heartless (stabbing her once), revealing the truth would be like "stabbing her twice." Determined to "be the bad guy till the end" for her grandson, Qin Mother arranged for both Hua Ming and Wan Xinxin to come to her house.
When Wan Xinxin saw Hua Ming, she confronted him, asking why he was avoiding her and being inconsistent about their relationship. Hua Ming pulled her outside, and she urged him to tell her any difficulties he was facing, promising to face them with him and emphasizing her unwavering commitment to him despite any hardship.
Unmoved, Hua Ming pulled out his phone and, in front of Wan Xinxin, called Xia Qing, telling her he was going to America to remarry her, promising that he, Xia Qing, and Ruirui would be a family of three, never to be apart. He then abruptly said "Goodbye" to Wan Xinxin, drove away, leaving her heartbroken and banging on his car window, pleading with him to stop.
He later confided in Chen Weimin that he couldn't bring himself to tell Wan Xinxin the truth about her father's death. He also revealed that he was going to the U. S. to find Dr. Wei to develop an effective treatment plan for Qin Mother's terminal cancer, acknowledging her substantial donations and belief that she deserved help.
Meanwhile, at Shi Lu's company, Xu Ke learned from an assistant that Shi Lu was going on a business trip to America and that the company would be managed by him during her absence. Xu Ke secretly followed Shi Lu to the airport. There, he unexpectedly spotted Hua Ming. He immediately called Wan Xinxin, addressing her as "Your Majesty," to inform her that Hua Ming was at the airport.
Wan Xinxin, who was at Qin's house, begged Qin Gang to drive her to the airport, expressing great urgency. Qin Gang seemed hesitant, stating they definitely wouldn't catch up with him.
