At the dinner table, Wan Xinxin openly showed affection for Hua Ming, calling him the "sweetest guy ever." Prior to this, Wan Xinxin had also invited Hua Ming to a movie for the day after tomorrow, but he was evasive about his availability. Xia Qing then implied Wan Xinxin was unfamiliar with Hua Ming's preferences and encouraged Huarui to eat vegetables, asserting that Hua Ming also favored them.

Huarui reacted with disgust, angrily throwing down her chopsticks and running off crying. Hua Ming later pulled Wan Xinxin aside, urging her to be more mindful of her words and actions in front of Huarui. Wan Xinxin, referring to her new haircut, defensively asked what she had done wrong, claiming she hadn't used inappropriate language. Hua Ming apologized, taking the blame, and told Huarui to go to her mommy.

Later, reflecting on Xu Ke’s advice, Wan Xinxin understood that this was a crucial time for her. Since Hua Ming adored his daughter, she needed to win Huarui over. Wan Xinxin approached Huarui, who was initially resistant to eating, and suggested they draw together. Wan Xinxin drew a picture depicting Huarui, herself, and Huarui's mom living in Huarui's dad's house.

She earnestly promised Huarui that she would never take her dad away, highlighting Huarui’s good fortune in having two mothers who both loved her and could teach her various skills, even promising ice cream. Huarui confided that her mom always said Wan Xinxin had taken her dad away and prevented his return to America. Wan Xinxin swore she had no intention of separating them and assured Huarui she was welcome to visit her dad whenever she wished.

Feeling relieved, Huarui accepted. Seeing their interaction, Hua Ming praised Huarui's drawing, and Wan Xinxin expressed regret for her earlier anger towards him. However, Xia Qing quickly resumed her efforts to provoke Wan Xinxin. Wan Xinxin mentioned her recent headaches to Hua Ming, who playfully attributed them to having "three women" in his life. Immediately after, both Xia Qing and Huarui feigned headaches, seeking Hua Ming's attention.

Xia Qing insisted on massaging Hua Ming’s head, reminiscing about their past intimacy, while Huarui also offered a massage and was encouraged to draw for her dad. This blatant display of family closeness and affection left Wan Xinxin feeling dejected. During this low point, Wan Xinxin's agent, Jiang Xiaoyu, arrived with exciting news.

She informed Wan Xinxin that her paintings had skyrocketed in value, leading to a new contract that would limit her to one painting for the rest of the year. More significantly, Wan Xinxin had received an invitation to study at the French Academy of Contemporary Art. Jiang Xiaoyu explained that this opportunity could lead to immigration, French citizenship, and a lifetime contract as an artist with the academy, a dream for many.

Wan Xinxin was stunned but felt the decision was too sudden, as it would drastically change both her professional and personal life. Jiang Xiaoyu, while respecting Wan Xinxin's hesitation, suspected her reluctance was due to Hua Ming, advising her to carefully consider this rare opportunity. Wan Xinxin tentatively asked Hua Ming about his opinion of Paris, suggesting they could live there together and stroll along the Seine at sunset.

Hua Ming, however, revealed that despite having traveled extensively and lived in places like Seattle for years, he never felt a true sense of belonging in foreign countries. Wan Xinxin understood his nostalgic feelings. After Hua Ming walked away, Huarui suddenly appeared, angrily calling Wan Xinxin a liar and accusing her of wanting to steal her dad by taking him to France. As Huarui ran off in a fit of rage, she accidentally fell.

Wan Xinxin quickly helped her up, but Hua Ming and Xia Qing, hearing the cries, rushed out. Huarui tearfully claimed Wan Xinxin had pushed her. Xia Qing immediately chastised Wan Xinxin for bothering a child. Despite Wan Xinxin's pleas that she hadn't pushed Huarui, Hua Ming sided with his daughter, stating his belief in her. Distraught, Wan Xinxin accused them of ganging up on her, lamenting that all basic trust between her and Hua Ming had vanished since Huarui's return.

Later, Xia Qing tried to frame a celebration as "15 years since they first met," but Hua Ming corrected her, stating it was the third anniversary of their divorce. Xia Qing asserted her actions were aimed at providing Huarui with a healthy family environment. Hua Ming attempted to discuss something important with Xia Qing, but Huarui and Xia Qing enthusiastically interrupted him to cut a cake.

Huarui then insisted her parents dance, and Xia Qing persuaded a reluctant Hua Ming to dance for their child's sake, with Huarui playing the piano. As they danced, Xia Qing reminisced about their college and wedding dances, trying to rekindle old feelings. Hua Ming, however, firmly stated they could never return to the past. Huarui persistently demanded her dad kiss her mom, and Hua Ming reluctantly obliged with a kiss.

Wan Xinxin, witnessing this emotional scene upon returning home, was heartbroken. Recalling Xu Ke's warning about Hua Ming's vulnerability, she immediately rushed to the gallery, telling Jiang Xiaoyu she desperately wanted to fly to Paris. She declared she was done fighting, believing Hua Ming's ex-wife would always hold a place in his heart, and he would always unconditionally believe his daughter, leaving her feeling like "nothing." Afterward, Hua Ming had a deep conversation with Xia Qing.

He asked her how long she planned to stay, explicitly stating his love for Wan Xinxin and that he and Xia Qing could never return to the past. He also expressed his discomfort with Wan Xinxin's suffering due to Xia Qing's presence. Xia Qing explained that she initially wanted to gauge Wan Xinxin's character and her treatment of Huarui, as well as the nature of Hua Ming and Wan Xinxin's relationship.

She also spoke about the hardship of being a single mother, hoping they could try again, but acknowledged that Hua Ming had changed. Hua Ming firmly reiterated that they could not go back, apologizing for the past. That evening, Hua Ming arrived at the gallery with homemade food, playfully introducing himself as "Huaming's Delivery." Wan Xinxin, still angry, refused to eat, accusing him and his "entire family" of bullying her.

Hua Ming gently explained that Huarui was just a child seeking her dad's attention. When Wan Xinxin questioned her own significance to him, Hua Ming called her "the most important person in my life," a phrase he also used for his daughter, which Wan Xinxin found frustrating. Hua Ming then revealed that Xia Qing and Huarui had moved out, explaining that they had done so to give him and Wan Xinxin space. Wan Xinxin was stunned, and despite her lingering anger, she playfully asked why she should return, wondering if she was merely his tenant.
