Ling Changfeng discovered Tang Qianyue was pregnant and immediately expressed his strong opposition to having the child, stating he did not want it. He explained that her current physical condition, coupled with the ingrained butterfly poison in her body, meant that giving birth would cost her life. He argued that she could not bear it, but Tang Qianyue insisted she could.

Ling Changfeng noted that her physical reactions were unlike other Butterfly Slaves, concluding that the baby was causing these changes. He proclaimed that while he was not afraid of death himself, his greatest fear was what would become of her if he were no longer by her side. Ling Changfeng remained resolute in his stance against the baby, then tried to change the subject by offering to cook.

He subsequently grew cold and distant towards Tang Qianyue, ignoring her greetings, hoping she would abandon the idea of keeping the child. Days passed, and one pleasant day, Ling Changfeng, wishing to reconcile, approached Tang Qianyue’s room. He suggested they go for a stroll, but when she didn’t respond to his knocking, he grew anxious and pushed the door open. He called out to her, apologizing and acknowledging the baby's importance to her, but reiterated his fear for her safety.

He repeatedly tried to rouse her, growing increasingly panicked when she remained unresponsive. When Tang Qianyue finally woke, she reassured him, explaining that her sleepiness was simply a normal symptom for pregnant women, and urged him not to be so scared. Ling Changfeng, however, worried, reminding her that she was not an ordinary pregnant woman and expressed his fear of what he would do if she developed untreatable illnesses later on.

Tang Qianyue, seeing his distress, apologized for not considering his feelings and suggested they visit someone. She led Ling Changfeng to Ms. Yuan, an elderly woman who was once an Yilan witch doctor but had long since disassociated herself from the Yilan Clan. Ms. Yuan reassured Ling Changfeng that he needn't be nervous. Ling Changfeng immediately inquired whether the baby would be affected by Tang Qianyue’s butterfly poison.

Ms. Yuan confirmed that the poison was not contagious and, if born safely, the child would be an ordinary person. Ling Changfeng then pressed for other ways to return Tang Qianyue to normal. Ms. Yuan initially stated there were no other methods, lamenting that Tang Qianyue was an orphan with no blood relations. Sensing a deeper meaning in Ms. Yuan's words, Ling Changfeng proposed staying for dinner.

Ms. Yuan understood his unspoken request and sent Tang Qianyue to fetch firewood, creating an opportunity for them to speak privately. Once alone, Ms. Yuan revealed that only the "Blood Kin Gu-diversion" method, which involves a blood relative, could cure Tang Qianyue of the butterfly poison. She explained that with Tang Qianyue's pregnancy and Ling Changfeng by her side, a solution had now emerged. Ling Changfeng understood this meant transferring the poison from Tang Qianyue to their unborn child.

The thought of sacrificing his innocent child caused him immense pain, but he prioritized Tang Qianyue's life above all else, making the agonizing decision to proceed with this plan. Later, on the street, a young girl named Little Bun accidentally bumped into Tang Qianyue and fell. Tang Qianyue quickly helped her up and observed the girl's mother, who, despite scolding her child, showed immense love and concern.

This scene made Tang Qianyue dream of her own child one day holding her and Ling Changfeng's hands, forming a complete family. Ling Changfeng, witnessing Tang Qianyue’s deep yearning for their child, found his resolve weakening. He knew the Ink-Kuei flowers would bloom soon, which would trigger the Butterfly Slaves' condition. He decided to take Tang Qianyue away from Lingtian City. As Tang Qianyue packed their belongings, she felt a profound sadness bidding farewell to their home.

Princess Bao Zhu, upon learning of Tang Qianyue and Ling Changfeng’s impending departure, secretly left her residence. She instructed He Xi to cover for her, ensuring Ling Changjin remained unaware of her movements. When Bao Zhu arrived, Tang Qianyue was delighted to see her. Bao Zhu immediately questioned the sudden departure, suspecting that Ling Changjin had discovered Tang Qianyue's true identity. Tang Qianyue reassured her and suggested they find a quieter place to talk.

Meanwhile, Ling Changfeng visited the Butterfly Slaves whom Jin Ming had secretly protected in the prison. Jin Ming reported that most had taken the Ink-Kuei flower soup according to Ling Changfeng's prescription. However, three individuals refused to swallow the medicine. Ling Changfeng ordered him to try again. Jin Ming questioned the necessity of saving them, given the harm they had caused, and the risk of defying the Marshal.

Ling Changfeng reminded him that these Butterfly Slaves were once normal people before their transformation. He then made a somber request to Jin Ming, asking him to personally end his life if he ever became a Butterfly Slave himself. He also entrusted Jin Ming with the responsibilities of the department in his absence. Suddenly, Ling Changfeng detected a strong, unfamiliar scent in the air, realizing it was not the Ink-Kuei flower soup but the potent aroma of Ink-Kuei flower pollen.

Unbeknownst to them, the Marshal had forced the Ink-Kuei flowers to bloom prematurely. In the prison, the three Butterfly Slaves who had resisted the medicine were instantly ignited by the flower's scent. At the same time, Tang Qianyue, outside with Bao Zhu, felt her hand burn as Ink-Kuei flower petals began to fall from the sky. Ling Changfeng immediately realized the gravity of the situation: someone was executing the Butterfly Slaves in the city.
