Feng Muchen approached Wang Ge with a glass of hot milk, knowing she was still awake. Wang Ge expressed her concerns about a new company assignment: filming a short video titled "A Day in the Life of a Young Socialite" alongside Lu Wanqing. She worried that her true identity as a fake rich girl might be exposed.
Feng Muchen reassured her, suggesting she simply act as extravagant and artificial as possible to appeal to the audience's curiosity about the wealthy lifestyle. Meanwhile, Lu Wanqing was busy recording her part of the promotional video, recounting a childhood memory of running away from home and finding a "secret base" where she met a kind "big brother." Later, Wang Ge and Lu Wanqing watched the edited video together.
Wang Ge felt she looked like a clown and feared her fake identity would be revealed, but Lu Wanqing found her cute and unpretentious in the footage. Separately, Chen Ye watched Lu Wanqing's video. Her story about the secret base and meeting a big brother, who gave her a bird whistle, triggered his own childhood memories, leading him to realize that Lu Wanqing was the lost little girl he had helped years ago.
While watching the edited video, Wang Ge and Lu Wanqing inadvertently overheard Shen Lingzhu and Chen Yin having an affair, captured by their recording equipment. Shen Lingzhu was discussing how the new company would soon occupy Ye Shuyuan's time, leaving her free to be with Chen Yin. Wang Ge comforted a distressed Lu Wanqing, emphasizing that the affair was not her fault, but Lu Wanqing firmly decided to inform her father, Ye Shuyuan.
Later, Shen Lingzhu returned home to find Ye Shuyuan and the family gathered, noticing his grim expression. She immediately tried to deflect by accusing Wang Ge of framing her. However, Lu Wanqing stepped forward and confessed that she was the one who revealed Shen Lingzhu's affair with Chen Yin, which had been captured on video.
Lu Wanqing explained that everyone must face the consequences of their actions and she couldn't stand by while her father's hard work flowed into outsiders' hands. Dropping her pretense, Shen Lingzhu claimed her actions were minor compared to Ye Shuyuan's and attempted to use her pregnancy as a shield, declaring her love and that the child was his. Unmoved, Ye Shuyuan declared he never wanted to see her again.
Lu Wanqing then insisted on a paternity test for Shen Lingzhu's unborn child, suggesting it was not Ye Shuyuan's and that she didn't want to inadvertently become an older sister to someone else's child. She even provided a USB drive containing recordings of Shen Lingzhu and Chen Yin discussing transferring company assets. Ye Shuyuan, enraged, ordered Chen Yin to be brought in and threatened him with severe consequences if the baby was not his.
Despite Shen Lingzhu's desperate pleas and affirmations of love, Ye Shuyuan remained resolute. He ordered her belongings to be thrown out and, collapsing in anger, agreed to the paternity test. Wang Ge internally celebrated the punishment of the "evil stepmother." Lu Wanqing then tried to instruct Mrs. Wang to send Shen Lingzhu's luggage to Shen Lingzhu's mother, but Mrs. Wang refused, forcing Lu Wanqing to personally oversee the removal of Shen Lingzhu’s belongings, asserting her authority over the defiant servants.
Wang Ge then received a call from Mr. Jackson, who scheduled a meeting for the next morning at her home to finalize the transfer of her entrusted shares. She asked Feng Muchen to accompany her, and he agreed, but then quickly excused himself, saying he had something to do. Feng Muchen secretly met with the real Mr. Jackson beforehand.
He apologized for impersonating him at Ye's Group and asked Mr. Jackson to keep his deception a secret from Wang Ge, as she disliked receiving help. Mr. Jackson explained that he had been holding Wang Ge's shares on behalf of her mother for years, which made him a target for Ye Shuyuan's harassment. He detailed how he had to take elaborate precautions, like booking multiple flights at different times and using a disguise, to return to the country safely.
He praised Feng Muchen's assistant, Yun Yi, for being clever enough to identify him despite his efforts to remain hidden. Before their meeting with Wang Ge, Mr. Jackson requested Feng Muchen's help with an urgent task. Later, when a Mr. Jackson arrived at Wang Ge's home for the scheduled meeting, Wang Ge, still suspicious, believed it was Feng Muchen in another disguise. She playfully pulled on his hair, only to discover it was real, causing her immense embarrassment.
Mr. Jackson, amused by her antics, confirmed that Feng Muchen had indeed impersonated him before and was currently attending an event on his behalf, as he had "experience pretending to be me." With the confusion cleared, they proceeded with the stock transfer. Wang Ge then asked Mr. Jackson about her mother's imprisonment. He revealed that he had also been investigating and was certain that Shen Lingzhu was merely a pawn, and the true mastermind behind her mother's demise was still at large.
