Feng Muchen arrived at the summer camp, where Zou Chengji eagerly asked why his "little cousin-in-law," Ye Wange, wasn't there. Feng Muchen stated she couldn't make it. Just then, Ye Wange excitedly ran towards the sea, accompanied by Su Yinyin. Feng Muchen, surprised to see her, rushed to stop her from going further, reminding her that the beach was just ahead. Ye Wange, annoyed, told him to get out of her way.
In their struggle, they accidentally fell, landing in an awkward kiss. A nearby camper quipped about them dating, urging them to get up. Mr. Yang, the camp guide, gathered everyone to announce the first task: setting up tents. Campers grumbled about having to build their own shelters instead of staying in five-star hotels.
Ye Wange expressed her desire to share a tent with Su Yinyin, but Feng Muchen, ever the opportunist, quickly claimed the tent, declaring he could protect her 24/7. As they set up, Feng Muchen jokingly called himself a superhero, which Ye Wange found childish. Later, Feng Muchen took Ye Wange to buy a swimsuit. He insisted on a conservative, full-coverage pink and blue one-piece, claiming it was for sun protection, jellyfish safety, and to ward off "perverts."
Ye Wange was furious, finding it incredibly ugly and suspecting he bought it on purpose. She quickly changed into a more revealing swimsuit, proudly stating it was "what girls should wear." Feng Muchen warned her about sunburn, jellyfish, and other men staring, but she told him it was none of his business. He then took her to learn swimming, despite her fear of water.
Ye Wange protested loudly as he carried her into the sea, exclaiming the water was up to her neck, though Feng Muchen playfully pointed out it was only ankle-deep. As they ventured deeper, Ye Wange panicked, reminding him of her fear and worrying about drifting away. Feng Muchen patiently explained that fear wouldn't save her and encouraged her to face it. She tried but quickly retreated, finding it too deep.
Feng Muchen, holding her close, warned her to stop moving or he might "lose control," leading to Ye Wange calling him a "rascal." He clarified he was referring to his balance on the sandy seabed, a point she jokingly agreed with. Gradually, she relaxed and adapted to the water.
Feng Muchen also gave her a "Facekini," a full-face mask, claiming it was so "no one will dare stare at my Mrs. Feng," but she refused to wear it, saying she wasn't robbing a bank. Mr. Yang announced there would be a music festival with girl group dances that night, but due to budget constraints, they needed two groups to volunteer to perform. Under an inexplicable impulse, Ye Wange volunteered, wondering if she was "controlled by the author."
She tried to convince Su Yinyin to join her, but Su Yinyin refused, unwilling to compromise her "helmet and motorcycle" image. Seeing Ye Wange struggle to rehearse, Feng Muchen suggested Zou Chengji, who supposedly "knows some girl group dances," could help. After some convincing and a demonstration of Zou Chengji's unexpected flexibility, Feng Muchen devised a plan. Later, Feng Muchen and Zou Chengji, dressed in women's outfits, performed with Ye Wange and Su Yinyin.
Feng Muchen tried to make Ye Wange cover her revealing costume, but she told him to worry about himself. That evening, Su Yinyin observed Feng Muchen's actions throughout the day and finally understood why Ye Wange had been attracted to him, remarking on how much he was willing to sacrifice and how different he was now. Ye Wange agreed, acknowledging his changed demeanor, having herself secretly fallen in love with him.
Feng Muchen then took Ye Wange to the beach to "sober up." As they admired the sea, he asked if she liked it, and then if she liked him. She noted his eyes sparkled "like stars." Despite her feelings, and overwhelmed by his kindness, Ye Wange tried to express her reservations, apologizing and stating, "I can't." Feng Muchen apologized for being too impatient, but Ye Wange clarified it wasn't his fault.
She confessed she couldn't be with him "now or ever" and asked if he could accept that. When he said no, she rephrased, asking if he could accept it if she couldn't fall in love with him for some reason. Internally, Ye Wange struggled with his persistent kindness, knowing she loved him but feeling unable to be with him due to her identity.
She wondered if she should marry him, but then rationalized that he might be nice to everyone, leading her to question if his kindness was solely because he liked her. Feng Muchen asked if she wished he liked her, and she quickly denied it. Returning to their tent, they found Su Yinyin and Zou Chengji already settled inside, suggesting they go to sleep.
Feng Muchen instructed Ye Wange to sleep inside with Su Yinyin while he slept outside to protect her. However, his incessant sneezing eventually prompted Ye Wange to let him in, telling him to stop acting. Once inside, Zou Chengji cheekily commented about them finally "sleeping together," for which Ye Wange promptly told him to shut up. She then complained about Feng Muchen's head resting on her hand, and after a brief adjustment, they wished each other good night.
Meanwhile, Shen Lingzhu met her lover at a bar. Her lover expressed concern about Ye Grandpa having seen him dropping her home. Shen Lingzhu dismissed his worries, stating that "that old man" was in very poor health and "about to die." She coldly added that "Xiao Ge" (Ye Wange) would "all be dead soon," and once these "stumbling blocks" were removed, the Ye Group would rightfully become the Shen Group.
The next morning, Ye Wange decided to face her fear of water and joined Yuan for surfing. Yuan agreed, noting the calm morning waves, and Ye Wange recalled Feng Muchen's advice about facing fears. While they were enjoying themselves, Yuan received an urgent phone call from her boss, Chen Ye. Yuan had previously been tasked by Chen Ye to attend the camp and gather information on the students.
During the call, Chen Ye expressed concern and asked if "Ye Wange should be fine." Yuan had to leave immediately, apologizing to Ye Wange. Ye Wange was left alone at the beach.
