Adventure Behind the Bronze Door Episode 13 Recap
> Adventure Behind the Bronze Door Recap
Feng and his team quickly entered the mountain cave, well-equipped and following the footprints left by Wu Xie and the others. As they advanced, they noticed the tracks became messy, suggesting the others might be lost. Finding a fishing line left by Wu Xie's group, Feng deduced they might still be trapped in the maze.
With a large group, Feng decided to split them into multiple teams of four to search for a safe exit, instructing each team to be responsible for a passage and report their position every five minutes. Meanwhile, Wu Xie, Fatty, and Zhang Haike had moved beyond the area with the puppets. The path ahead was easier, but they kept finding marks left by Zhang Qiling. Initially, these marks indicated extreme danger, causing nervousness.
However, further marks suggested they were moving away from the perilous areas. Fatty joked that Zhang Qiling might be trying to show a sense of humor like him. As Fatty was feeling pleased, he suddenly stepped onto unstable ground and nearly fell into a large pit. Wu Xie grabbed him just in time. Peering into the void, they dropped a light stick to gauge the depth, finding it was about twenty meters deep.
It seemed the ground had sunken here due to frequent earthquakes. Wu Xie, Fatty, and Zhang Haike prepared to descend into the darkness using ropes. Below, they used their lights and discovered murals depicting a strange war involving the Kumuli dynasty and an unseen enemy. Discussing the murals, they considered if the enemy was the Night King and if the Кумули were connected.
As they continued, they saw a massive structure resembling a building or a large iron box, suspended in mid-air by several chains. They had never seen anything like it. Zhang Haike examined the peculiar structure, noting it looked like both a house and a large iron box. Recalling details from scrolls and Wang Jinyuan's past descriptions, Wu Xie realized this iron box-like house might be connected to the Night King.
They speculated that the structure might contain the Night King itself, based on descriptions indicating its immense size. Deciding they needed to enter to find a key, they approached the structure, likely climbing onto it, to search for an entrance. As Wu Xie, Fatty, and Zhang Haike explored, Feng's group encountered trouble behind them. The puppets became aggressive, lurching towards Feng's team. Feng's men opened fire, and as the puppets fell, multiple venomous snakes emerged from their clothing.
Feng was nearly bitten, but Zhang Nian appeared and drove the snakes away, warning them not to touch the snakes. Zhang Nian expressed his animosity towards Zhang Qiling and proposed an alliance with Feng, stating his purpose was to disrupt Wu Xie's plans. He reminded Feng of their previous unfinished deal, where Feng was supposed to meet him in Dejia after the first key was obtained. Feng was initially cautious, citing past dishonesty from Zhang Nian.
Zhang Nian revealed that Zhang Haike had deliberately exposed his location to lure Feng and steal his key, warning Feng that many traps lay ahead on the path. He argued that since they had a common enemy in Wu Xie and the Zhang family, cooperation was necessary for both of them to succeed and avoid being exploited. Feng agreed to the alliance. While Zhang Nian and Feng were negotiating, Zhang Jiuri was also moving alone. He encountered Zhang Haixing.
They exchanged words and fought. Although their skills seemed evenly matched, Zhang Haixing became emotionally distracted during the fight, which allowed Zhang Jiuri to strike and knock her unconscious. Back at the floating structure, Wu Xie, Fatty, and Zhang Haike were searching for a way in. They found no obvious door, realizing the house was completely sealed using traditional joinery.
Zhang Haike explained that this sealing method, used by the Zhang family for extremely terrifying things, made structures impossible to open from the outside once locked, serving to contain whatever was inside. Wu Xie noticed a scuff mark on the ground near the structure. He deduced this mark and a slight tilt in the suspended structure, caused by the weight of an internal mechanism, indicated someone had opened the house before.
Using a steel ball, he located the heaviest side and, by chance, discovered the hidden mechanism nearby. Activating it, the structure opened from the center like a fully automatic convertible roof. Fatty marveled at the sight. With the entrance revealed, Wu Xie, Fatty, and Zhang Haike prepared to enter.
