At an amusement park, Xie Fei, accompanied by Xia Xiaoning, expressed surprise at seeing Gu Chenyu and Yanran, playfully remarking on their presence at such a place. When Xie Fei suggested their groups join, Gu Chenyu declined. Yanran, however, tried to persuade Gu Chenyu to agree, asking Xia Xiaoning if she minded. Xia Xiaoning emphatically stated her strong objection, then left abruptly in a sightseeing car with Xie Fei following her.
After Xia Xiaoning departed, Xie Fei asked her why she was so upset, to which she replied that she was annoyed thinking about Gu Chenyu's usual bullying behavior and how he still had the leisure to visit the amusement park on a weekend.
In a separate sightseeing car, Yanran commented to Gu Chenyu on the rapid progress between Xie Fei and Xia Xiaoning, musing that Xie Fei, despite his celebrity persona, might have found true love, perhaps even with her accidental help. Gu Chenyu remained noncommittal. Later, while dining together, Yanran reflected on their past, lamenting that they hadn't shared a meal in a long time.
She then expressed her long-held feelings for Gu Chenyu, admitting she had always wanted to tell him she liked him but lacked the courage, fearing she might lose him if she waited any longer. Shortly after, Xia Xiaoning and Xie Fei entered the same restaurant, where Xie Fei subtly cued a server to present a bouquet to Xia Xiaoning. Upon entering, they overheard Yanran’s heartfelt confession to Gu Chenyu.
Overwhelmed, Xia Xiaoning immediately declared she had lost her appetite and insisted on going for a drink, then turned and walked out. After she left, Gu Chenyu tried to gently explain to Yanran that he had always regarded her as a cherished family member since she first came to his home. Yanran, however, grew frustrated, questioning why he still didn't understand her feelings after all these years.
She accused Xia Xiaoning of manipulating both him and Xie Fei in a short time, asserting that Xia Xiaoning was now Xie Fei’s official girlfriend, and that day was Xie Fei’s planned confession. Gu Chenyu, cutting her off, denied any connection to Xia Xiaoning and dismissed Yanran’s words, before storming out of the restaurant. At a bar, Xie Fei, visibly nervous, prepared to confess his feelings to Xia Xiaoning.
Drunk and disoriented, Xia Xiaoning interrupted him, cursing Gu Chenyu and wishing bad things upon him, such as having no pearls in his bubble tea. Xie Fei began his confession, recalling their first meeting and how he believed she was his "happy enemy." However, Xia Xiaoning, still heavily intoxicated, mistook Xie Fei for Gu Chenyu.
She expressed her frustration, lamenting that she had thought he liked her, only to realize her feelings were unrequited, before repeatedly calling him a "bastard" and "big bad guy." Meanwhile, at the restaurant, Yanran shed sad tears after Gu Chenyu left, while Xie Fei, looking at the ring in his hand, felt a mix of emotions. Just then, Gu Chenyu arrived at the bar, berating Xie Fei for letting Xia Xiaoning drink so much.
Xie Fei, acknowledging his failed confession, resignedly left Xia Xiaoning in Gu Chenyu’s care. Xia Xiaoning, still in a drunken stupor, continued to call Gu Chenyu a "bastard" and a "ruthless devil" before collapsing. Gu Chenyu then picked her up and took her home. Meanwhile, Jin Yao arrived at the bar looking for Xie Fei, only to find him heavily inebriated. She expressed her frustration with the situation, even joking about putting her bar tab on Gu Chenyu’s account.
The bartender, seeing Xie Fei was awake but still disoriented, urged him to take Jin Yao home. Xie Fei, still seemingly drunk, tried to avoid it. Jin Yao, also very drunk, started to cause a scene, singing and trying to kiss Xie Fei. Despite his attempts to calm her, a hotel cleaning lady overheard Jin Yao's cries and mistakenly assumed Xie Fei was assaulting her, prompting a call to the police.
When the police arrived, Xie Fei explained that Jin Yao was merely drunk and he was taking her to her room, stating they were neighbors. When asked if they were a couple, Xie Fei asserted they were, but Jin Yao drunkenly denied it, stating she had someone else she liked and even accused Xie Fei of forcefully dragging her into the room and attempting to assault her. Faced with Jin Yao's accusations, Xie Fei was left speechless.
Both were subsequently taken to the Public Security Bureau. At Xia Xiaoning's home, Gu Chenyu found her diary, filled with entries detailing her admiration for her idol, Mobuyu, including accounts of meeting him, shaking his hand, and being inspired by his words. Xia Xiaoning woke up briefly, still intoxicated, and tearfully confronted Gu Chenyu, pinching his face and asking why he had seemingly hurt her despite claiming to like her. Gu Chenyu comforted her until she fell back asleep.
Later, as Xia Xiaoning, now sober, and Gu Chenyu were on their way to the Public Security Bureau after Xie Fei's call, Xia Xiaoning was visibly nervous. Gu Chenyu stopped the car and asked for a chance to explain. When Xia Xiaoning reached for a tissue, Gu Chenyu gently took her hand. Though Xia Xiaoning initially pulled away and turned her face, Gu Chenyu turned her head and kissed her. Xia Xiaoning then pushed him away, releasing his hand.
Gu Chenyu explained that someone had blackmailed him using Mobuyu’s identity and their "date" photos, falsely claiming Xia Xiaoning had leaked the information. He clarified that he never doubted her but had to act carefully to protect her, playing along with the blackmailer’s scheme. Xia Xiaoning was upset that he hadn't confided in her, asserting that as Mobuyu’s admirer, she would protect his secret, and as Gu Chenyu’s girlfriend, she should face challenges with him.
Gu Chenyu, delighted to hear her call him her "boyfriend," asked for her forgiveness. Xia Xiaoning reluctantly agreed to forgive him, but her face quickly broke into a wide smile as she urged him to drive them to the Public Security Bureau, making him promise not to hide anything from her again.
