Wen Yajun admitted to knowing Mr. Jiang and offered help with Mr. Jiang's recent engagement issues, but Shan Liang declined. Shan Liang probed further, questioning why Mr. Jiang made the matter so public and what his true intentions were.
Shan Liang observed that Wen Yajun was clearly still upset by Wen Rou's refusal to return to Wanli. After Shan Liang left, Wen Yajun immediately instructed his staff to rent all available venues, offering high prices, specifically to prevent Polimoda from securing a location for their show. He dismissed Polimoda as a "rubbish brand" and declared he would not allow Wen Rou to outperform Wanli.
Meanwhile, Wen Yajun's subordinate confirmed that Xunmi's operations were suspended, Polimoda's backup venues were secured by Wanli, and Mr. Jiang's new company was up and running with Wen Yajun's investment, and Mr. Jiang had promised to maintain the facade of a broken engagement. Witnessing Wen Yajun's actions, Cui Xuelan, Wen Rou's mother, began packing her bags, asserting there was no place for her in the family.
She expressed deep regret for not leaving with Wen Rou years ago and lamented her past compromises, which only brought suffering to her and Wen Rou. She accused Wen Yajun of pretending to support Wen Rou while trying to suppress her. She declared their marriage of convenience could never be truly happy and credited Wen Rou and Shan Liang with showing her what a real partnership was, solidifying her decision to leave him.
Wen Yajun warned her not to return if she left. Wen Rou struggled to find a venue for her show, as all indoor options rejected her requests with various excuses. Shan Liang and Wen Xin arrived simultaneously to break the news: Wen Yajun was the mastermind behind Mr. Jiang's actions. Wen Xin elaborated that Mr. Jiang's leather business had long-standing ties with Wanli, and Wen Yajun had even invested in Mr. Jiang's new company.
Shan Liang confirmed that Wen Yajun orchestrated the venue blockades, leading Wen Rou to realize he was also likely behind the prior fire inspection issue. Wen Rou realized her father was targeting Xunmi because he believed she relied on Shan Liang, and destroying Xunmi would force her to yield. Wen Xin then revealed that Mr. Jiang and Yuan Xiangxiang's engagement was a sham.
Relieved yet surprised, Wen Rou was touched that Wen Xin, her step-sister, was finally on her side, though Wen Xin, ever proud, insisted she was simply seeking fair competition. Wen Yajun discovered Wen Xin was still with Su Ziguang and furiously demanded she end the relationship, calling Su Ziguang Wen Rou's ex-boyfriend and expressing his embarrassment that Wen Xin would settle for "leftovers." She defiantly refused to break up with him. Later, Su Ziguang tried to comfort an upset Wen Xin.
Wen Rou called Su Ziguang on the phone, discreetly asking if Wen Xin was present. Wen Xin, suspecting Wen Rou's intentions, quickly silenced Su Ziguang and hid under his desk. Su Ziguang lied, confirming Wen Xin's absence, and Wen Rou announced she was coming over. When Wen Rou arrived, she dramatically described her stress-induced illness from preparing for the show, claiming Su Ziguang was the "key ingredient" for her recovery and implying he needed to "sacrifice himself."
Enraged, Wen Xin jabbed Su Ziguang's thigh with scissors from under the desk, causing him to wince. Wen Rou then revealed her plan: Mr. Jiang's fake breakup with Yuan Xiangxiang was causing Xunmi's crisis. Yuan Xiangxiang had agreed to clarify the truth but only if she could meet Mr. Jiang, who was in hiding.
To lure him out, they needed a handsome, successful, trustworthy man to "date" Yuan Xiangxiang, and Su Ziguang was the perfect choice, as Yuan Xiangxiang had already agreed. Su Ziguang repeatedly tried to refuse, but Wen Xin emerged from under the desk, emphatically rejecting the idea and accusing Wen Rou of trying to steal her boyfriend. As Yuan Xiangxiang's video call came in, Wen Rou resorted to emotional manipulation, tearfully recounting her struggles and sacrifices.
Wen Xin, moved by her sister's vulnerability, reluctantly agreed to the plan. Wen Rou executed her plan using two phones: one to coordinate with Yuan Xiangxiang and another to send anonymous tips to Mr. Jiang about Yuan Xiangxiang's "new relationship." Wen Rou brought Su Ziguang to the cinema to meet Yuan Xiangxiang, hoping to provoke Mr. Jiang.
However, Wen Xin, having tracked Su Ziguang via a couple's positioning app, showed up and vehemently forbade him from watching a movie with another woman, especially on their one-month anniversary. Respecting Wen Xin's "bottom line," Wen Rou changed her approach. Later, Mr. Jiang, driven by the tips, arrived at the cinema. He found Yuan Xiangxiang with Wen Rou, who was disguised as a man. Mr. Jiang confronted Yuan Xiangxiang, accusing her of betrayal.
Yuan Xiangxiang demanded he clarify their fake breakup, but Mr. Jiang's continued doubts and accusations – even accusing Yuan Xiangxiang of conspiring with Wen Rou and knowing about his fake bankruptcy – revealed his true self-serving nature. Disappointed and exhausted by his self-serving behavior, Yuan Xiangxiang declared she could no longer distinguish between his interests and her own. Recognizing there was no future for them, she ended their relationship definitively.
With Yuan Xiangxiang's public clarification, Xunmi was vindicated, and Shan Liang's business was restored. Shan Liang and Wen Rou reflected that true love needed no tests, only trust. Shan Liang noted that like Mr. Jiang and Yuan Xiangxiang, they too had initially formed their relationship based on superficial aspects, but unlike them, their love deepened as they truly understood each other. Meanwhile, Wen Xin confronted Wen Yajun, threatening to cancel Wanli's show if he continued to target Wen Rou.
She expressed her desire for fair competition and her own happiness, acknowledging her past envy of Wen Rou and her debt to her for taking Wen Rou's mother's affection. She asserted her identity as Wen Rou's sister, not just his daughter. On the day of Polimoda's Grand Show at Yilang Manor, Shan Liang and Su Ziguang welcomed guests, and Liu Meng opened the highly anticipated event. Wen Rou and Han Qing appeared on stage to give their thanks.
Wen Rou credited Han Qing's unwavering support and partnership for Polimoda's success, even recalling their past disagreements and how Han Qing guided her vision. Wen Rou then emotionally thanked Shan Liang, proclaiming he taught her the true meaning of love – that genuine affection transcends all manipulation and strategies.
