Su Muyun led his basketball team to a hard-fought victory. Afterwards, Su Muyun approached Su Nianfeng and Liu Zihui, asking Nianfeng if she had taken any photos of him playing. Nianfeng, acknowledging her poor photography skills, confirmed she had captured him, despite the poor quality. Ouyang Qingxue, a finance major, approached Muyun to congratulate him, praising his strategic contribution to the win.
Qingxue then invited Nianfeng to a dinner hosted by the Department of Sports that evening, mentioning she felt awkward attending alone as a girl among many men. Su Muyun quickly interjected, stating that Nianfeng would not be attending as they had other plans.
Qingxue urged him to reconsider, suggesting it was an opportunity for him to reconcile with his teammates, and Nianfeng, agreeing with Qingxue's reasoning, promptly decided that she and Muyun would attend, with Liu Zihui also wanting to join. At the dinner, after a teammate toasted Su Muyun for having sacrificed himself for the greater good, Ouyang Qingxue asked Su Muyun to help her reach spinach across the table.
Su Muyun simply told her to use the lazy Susan to rotate the dish. Liu Zihui then sarcastically remarked that Muyun must be "physically disabled" to have received favorable scores in the NCEE, before serving food to Nianfeng. Su Muyun also put food on Nianfeng's plate, reminding her that she hadn't eaten breakfast, to which Nianfeng playfully complained that it was because he had turned off her alarm that morning.
Observing their interaction, Ouyang Qingxue feigned a laugh, commenting on how close Su Muyun was to his sister, implying that unknowing people might mistake them for a couple. Liu Zihui quickly defended them, reminding everyone that they had grown up together, explaining their closeness, and urging others to think more purely. Later, outside the dinner, Ouyang Qingxue approached Su Muyun again, expressing interest in learning basketball.
Despite other male students eagerly offering to teach her, Su Muyun remained distant and promptly took Nianfeng home, uninterested in Qingxue's overtures. After Nianfeng and Muyun returned home, their parents arrived, happy to see them. The family gathered for dinner, enjoying crucian carp soup Nianfeng had prepared. Their parents reminisced about Nianfeng secretly learning to cook from their mother and making a big mess in the kitchen with Muyun when they were children.
Their father playfully chided Nianfeng, remembering how she bravely took all the blame, to which Nianfeng retorted that she was still punished. Nianfeng then praised Muyun, crediting him for her university admission, saying she wouldn't have made it without him. Muyun humbly replied that it was her own hard work, and reciprocated, saying Nianfeng had always taken good care of him. The family expressed their joy at seeing them get along and toasted to being a happy family.
Sometime later, Su Nianfeng went for an interview at Ouyang Group. Upon entering the CEO Ouyang Yu's office, she was surprised to see him with Snowball, the cat she had previously rescued, realizing he had adopted it. Ouyang Yu, already well-informed about her, including her fear of taking cars, told her she didn't need to apologize for being late.
He informed her that he had thoroughly reviewed her background, including her high school grades, and noted her medical major, broadcasting skills, eloquence, and cooking abilities, stating that she perfectly met his requirements for a personal assistant. He immediately hired her, outlining her job scope to include organizing his schedule, accompanying him to business functions, and even preparing his meals on weekends, with a one-month probation period.
When Nianfeng returned home and informed Su Muyun about the job, he sternly forbade her from going. Nianfeng, however, pleaded with him, explaining that she was only in her probation period and wanted the experience as a form of exercise and training. That evening, Qin Yao came to Su Muyun's house for dinner, reportedly in a bad mood.
Nianfeng, having just gotten her new job, had also dressed up, prompting Liu Zihui to tease her about still harboring feelings for Qin Yao and trying to discreetly set them up. In the living room, Qin Yao confided in Su Muyun about his girlfriend Qi Yuan, expressing frustration that despite his best efforts, she remained indifferent towards him.
Liu Zihui seized the opportunity to praise Nianfeng and subtly suggest Qin Yao consider her, but Qin Yao, acknowledging Nianfeng's good qualities, firmly stated his deep affection for Qi Yuan, explaining that he had known her for many years and cherished their relationship, vowing never to give up on her despite their recent argument. Overhearing this, a heartbroken Nianfeng excused herself, claiming to be full, and rushed out of the house.
Su Muyun quickly followed Nianfeng, finding her sitting on a bench, crying. He tried to comfort her, telling her he disliked seeing her cry. Nianfeng, still upset, asked if he had any empathy and urged him to hug and comfort her. Su Muyun then embraced her, admitting to her his desire to hold her for the rest of his life.
After a moment, Nianfeng calmed down, realizing it wasn't the feeling of heartbreak she experienced but rather profound embarrassment, as she may not have liked Qin Yao as much as she thought. Su Muyun gently wiped her tears, and seeing her exhausted, he carried her home through the cold night, promising to protect her for the rest of his life. A few days later, Nianfeng appeared visibly gloomy.
When some female students playfully tried to "borrow" Su Muyun for a fee, Nianfeng jokingly offered him for "9. 9 RMB a day." The girls, finding the price incredibly cheap, inquired about a monthly pass, but Muyun simply dismissed them as "absurd." He then approached Nianfeng, asking the reason for her low spirits.
She explained that although her diagnostic studies paper had earned the highest grade in her class, she had inadvertently offended Professor Fang when Liu Zihui had dragged her to the basketball court to rescue him. As a result, Professor Fang, angry, had decided to take other students to a crucial medical seminar in the United States, which Nianfeng lamented would have been extremely beneficial for Le Diyin's condition.
She bitterly told Su Muyun that he was truly an obstacle in her life. Later, Liu Zihui tried to convince Nianfeng to participate in the "Star of Arts" competition. Nianfeng was reluctant, citing her heavy medical coursework and lack of time. However, Su Muyun chimed in, mentioning that the champion's prize money was 10,000 RMB, which he pointed out might be enough to cover the travel expenses for the U. S. seminar.
Hearing this, Nianfeng's interest was immediately piqued, and she eagerly agreed to join, setting her sights on winning the championship. She and Liu Zihui diligently prepared their dance. On the day of the competition, however, Nianfeng was unexpectedly ushered onto the stage for a debate competition, still dressed in her elaborate dancing attire, causing confusion and murmurs among the audience.
From the audience, Ouyang Qingxue, who was revealed to be the director of the Department of Art and responsible for the event, watched with a triumphant smile. Su Muyun quietly confronted her, pointing out that Nianfeng had registered for the "Star of Arts" and not the debate. Qingxue feigned innocence, claiming that with so many registrations, the lists must have been mixed up.
Su Muyun saw through her facade, sternly asking her what she hoped to achieve and warning her not to trouble Nianfeng further, or she would face severe regrets. He then angrily added that her pretense of innocence was truly annoying. As Nianfeng, humiliated, ran off the stage, Muyun followed her, trying to comfort her by telling her that an early elimination simply meant fewer instances of embarrassment.
Later, Su Nianfeng went to the Ouyang Group, where Ouyang Yu surprised her with an offer: he planned to send her to the U. S. headquarters for a short-term internship during her holidays, specifically to attend the medical seminar that was vital for Le Diyin. Nianfeng was overjoyed by this unexpected turn of luck.
Soon after Nianfeng left, Ouyang Qingxue burst into her brother's office, angrily confronting him about his exceptional kindness towards Nianfeng, questioning if he was doing charity work and implying Nianfeng was not worthy. Ouyang Yu coldly replied that it was Ouyang family business, linked to "father's debt," and ordered her to stay away from Nianfeng. He told her she could be willful about anything else, but not about Su Nianfeng.
Following the debate fiasco, Ouyang Qingxue proposed to the Student Council that they add a revival round to the debate competition, specifically mentioning Su Nianfeng by name and expressing regret over her elimination. She claimed that Nianfeng had talent in broadcasting and had won recitation awards, asserting her belief that Nianfeng would advance if given another chance.
This suggestion was readily approved by other student council members, though it was clear to her friend that Qingxue intended to further humiliate Nianfeng, stating she wouldn't let Nianfeng advance if she was so eager to show off. Meanwhile, Le Diyin called Nianfeng, expressing his excitement about his recovery and asking about Dr. Thomas, a renowned cardiologist in the U. S. Nianfeng shared her hopeful news that she might have the opportunity to attend the U. S. medical seminar and potentially meet Dr. Thomas.
