During a pop quiz in math class, Su Nianfeng struggled with the questions. The teacher noticed her difficulties, pointing out that the problems were textbook examples and questioning if she had reviewed them. Su Nianfeng started to explain her situation but stopped herself. Just as Su Muyun was about to speak up for her, Le Diyin interjected, offering to help Su Nianfeng after class to avoid disturbing others. Impressed, the teacher praised Le Diyin.

After class, Le Diyin began tutoring Su Nianfeng. Su Muyun, who had declined an invitation to play basketball, was cleaning nearby and watched them with jealousy. Soon, another boy approached Su Nianfeng, expressing concern that she was unwell and offering her hot water. He also offered to help with the math problems, but Su Nianfeng politely declined, explaining that Le Diyin was already helping her.

Observing this, Su Muyun grew agitated and loudly commented that Su Nianfeng’s inability to solve basic problems was due to a lack of focus. When Su Nianfeng retorted that it was none of his business, Su Muyun asserted that he was responsible for her "puppy love issues" and had to intervene if she was distracted. Enraged, Su Nianfeng stormed out of the classroom.

As Le Diyin passed by, Su Muyun deliberately tripped him with a mop before confronting the other boy, telling him to stay away from Su Nianfeng and take his thermos with him. Determined to prove Su Muyun wrong, Su Nianfeng created a meticulous study plan. She became so engrossed in her studies that she refused to eat lunch, declaring that "mathematics makes me happy."

Concerned, Su Muyun bought a chicken drumstick and vegetables for her, brushing off Liu Zihui, who was asking him to approve her friend request. However, when he returned to the classroom, he saw Su Nianfeng and Le Diyin happily chatting while studying. Angered, Su Muyun went to the sports field, ate the lunch he had bought for her, and vented his frustration by aggressively playing basketball. Later, during PE class, the girls were scheduled to run 800 meters.

Liu Zihui asked Su Nianfeng if Su Muyun intended to approve her friend request. Su Nianfeng, looking pale, suddenly clutched her stomach and collapsed in pain. Liu Zihui quickly called for Su Muyun, who was playing basketball nearby. He rushed over, scolded her for pushing herself too hard, and promptly carried her to the infirmary. At the infirmary, the doctor explained that Su Nianfeng's condition was due to low blood sugar, compounded by her menstrual cycle and the long-distance run.

She advised rest but said no medication was needed. Later, Su Muyun returned to the infirmary to get brown sugar water for her. However, as he approached the classroom, he saw Su Nianfeng and Le Diyin chatting animatedly again and quietly left without giving her the drink. Le Diyin continued to tutor Su Nianfeng in the library, and she made significant progress. He offered to gather more study materials and suggested they meet at a café that weekend to continue.

Su Nianfeng happily agreed. Su Muyun, who had been observing them from a distance, furiously slammed a book on a table, earning a reprimand from a librarian. He later confronted Su Nianfeng, forbidding her from going to the weekend tutoring session. She accused him of spying and being jealous.

Su Muyun argued that there was no such thing as a "pure friendship" between a boy and a girl and, as her guardian while their parents were away, he had to look out for her. Su Nianfeng retorted that he was just jealous, praising Le Diyin as kinder and more handsome, and declaring that being with him was a delight, whereas being with Su Muyun was "like hell."

Later, Su Muyun dragged a persistent Liu Zihui to the table where Su Nianfeng and Le Diyin were studying. A competitive atmosphere arose as both boys tried to tutor Su Nianfeng, with Su Muyun mocking Le Diyin’s methods. When Su Nianfeng praised Le Diyin as the "best math teacher," Su Muyun became enraged, and a heated argument broke out between him and Su Nianfeng. He ultimately grabbed her and dragged her home, announcing they had "family problems to settle."

At home, their parents, away on a business trip, messaged them, specifically warning Su Muyun not to upset Su Nianfeng, or he might go hungry. Still angry, Su Muyun feigned a stomachache. Despite their fight, Su Nianfeng’s anger softened, and she cooked a meal for him. That night, Su Muyun found Su Nianfeng sleepwalking, standing on a chair by the open window. He gently carried her back to bed, tucked her in, and closed the window.

The next morning, she awoke to find him asleep on the floor beside her bed and playfully hit him with a doll, telling him to get out. Thanks to Le Diyin's tutoring, Su Nianfeng's mock exam score improved significantly. To thank him, she baked him cookies. Le Diyin ate one and looked uncomfortable, but clarified he was just feeling unwell, not that the cookies were bad. When Su Nianfeng expressed her concern, he reassured her he was used to it.

She told him, "You're my only friend, nothing can happen to you," and he affirmed their friendship would last. Later, a teacher summoned Su Muyun to discuss the highly competitive recommendation quotas for Tsinghua University. Seeing Su Muyun's hesitation, the teacher assumed it was because of his sister and advised him not to sacrifice the opportunity, noting that Su Nianfeng's challenge was "whether she can get into a university" at all.

Su Muyun stated firmly that he would tutor his sister and that she would definitely get into a university. When the teacher asked for his parents' contact information, Su Muyun replied that since they were abroad, the teacher should call Su Nianfeng, because "she counts as my guardian."
