Ma Huai showed signs of guilt, his gaze occasionally darting towards Niu Daming nearby, who looked abnormal. Under Lu Lingfeng's questioning, Niu Daming confessed that he had snuck into Dugu Yang's shop while Dugu Yang was invited for drinks, attempting to steal treasure, but firmly denied involvement in the murder case.

Zhong Bo seemed quite pleased and even a bit carried away at the prospect of witnessing Niu Daming being brought to justice.

But Su Wuming was not fooled by his facade and directly exposed Zhong Bo's true motive – he was actually seeking revenge for Xun Bo and exposing Niu Daming's crime of indiscriminately killing innocent people. Cao Hui was extremely anxious, eager to know who had killed her son. Su Wuming calmly pointed out that Zhong Bo must know the inside story. Upon hearing this, Cao Hui felt as if her heart was being twisted by a knife. She began to suspect that her son had ended his own life because he couldn't bear the pressure. Zhong Bo's further confirmation made her even more certain of her suspicion.

At the same time, she also learned of Dugu Yang's dying words – he felt overwhelmed by negative energy and decided to end his own life, leaving behind a riddle: whoever was the first to find him would be the true murderer. Subsequently, Dugu Yang committed suicide. Zhong Bo, left with no choice, could only act according to Dugu Yang's dying wish.

Su Wuming then seized the opportunity to suggest going to find Lu Lingfeng, but Lao Fei (Fei Jishi) saw through his true intention immediately. On the other side, when Dugu Xiashu and Lu Lingfeng were sorting through Dugu Yang's belongings, they found the silver he had left behind and a letter of dissolution addressed to his wife. In this letter, Dugu Yang expressed his deep guilt and helplessness regarding his family.

He knew deeply that his identity could not bring happiness to his wife and descendants, so he chose to let go. This discovery was difficult for Chun Tiao to accept; she could not accept that her husband had sacrificed everything for her. Dugu Yang's spirit of sacrifice also moved everyone present. Chun Tiao resolutely declared that she would not evade responsibility and voluntarily offered to take on the role of forensic examiner.
