Wu Suowei, recently discharged from the hospital, shows off his new second-hand car to Jiang Xiaoshuai before they go for a drive. Jiang Xiaoshuai comments on Wu Suowei’s success in getting revenge on Yue Yue and asks about his plan to start a company with Chi Cheng. Wu Suowei confirms that the company is almost ready, funded by selling his snakes, and that Chi Cheng handled many of the arrangements.
Despite this, Wu Suowei insists that their relationship will be purely professional, as he is a straight man who plans to marry a woman. Jiang Xiaoshuai presses him, asking if he has any feelings for Chi Cheng. Wu Suowei reluctantly admits that he does, but states he cannot be with him, fearing he would be the submissive partner in the relationship. Wu Suowei's creative company, Fearless Art Installations Ltd., holds its grand opening.
Wu Suowei is busy networking with various clients, while Chi Cheng leverages his connections to promote the business. During the event, Yue Yue unexpectedly appears, clearly impressed by Wu Suowei's professional demeanor and the successful launch of his company. She attempts to reconcile with him, claiming her past actions were not motivated by materialism and that she has broken up with Chi Cheng.
Wu Suowei calmly informs her that he knows about the breakup because Chi Cheng is now with him, and they founded the company together. Chi Cheng then steps in, adding that he even paid for Yue Yue's expensive branded outfit. Stunned and enraged, Yue Yue storms out. Later, Chi Cheng asks Wu Suowei why Yue Yue was at the opening, and Wu Suowei denies inviting her. That evening, at the celebration, Wu Suowei drinks heavily and becomes emotional.
When Chi Cheng expresses concern, a tearful Wu Suowei tells him that while he cannot bear to leave him, he feels they no longer have a reason to be together. He explains that his initial goal was simply to get revenge by breaking up Chi Cheng and Yue Yue, and now that this is accomplished, the pretext for their own relationship is gone.
Chi Cheng gently comforts him, assuring him they will not be apart and that he will stay with him for the night, even singing for Wu Suowei until he falls asleep. Wu Suowei becomes deeply engrossed in his new company. When Jiang Xiaoshuai visits, he advises Wu Suowei to balance his busy work life with his personal relationships.
Wu Suowei admits that Chi Cheng has been away on a business trip and has only sent work-related messages, which makes him reluctant to be the first to initiate personal contact. Wu Suowei then shifts the conversation to Jiang Xiaoshuai's romantic life, asking about Guo Chengyu. Jiang Xiaoshuai expresses disappointment, revealing that Guo Chengyu has stopped contacting him. Wu Suowei then asks Jiang Xiaoshuai if a straight person can truly become gay and then revert to being straight.
Jiang Xiaoshuai believes it's impossible. Chi Cheng returns from his business trip and secretly observes Wu Suowei at the office. He sees Wu Suowei researching online about reversing a gay orientation and exchanging messages on the topic with Jiang Xiaoshuai. Chi Cheng's jealousy flares up, and he confronts Wu Suowei about his "master," Jiang Xiaoshuai, implying that he is a bad influence.
Despite Wu Suowei's protests that they are at the company, Chi Cheng forcefully kisses him, and they become intimate. Later, Chi Cheng drives Wu Suowei back to the clinic. Jiang Xiaoshuai, listening to music, is unaware of Wu Suowei's return and wonders why his messages have gone unanswered. As Wu Suowei prepares to shower, Chi Cheng unexpectedly follows him into the bathroom, leading to a physical struggle.
Jiang Xiaoshuai hears the commotion, opens the bathroom door, and is startled to find them together, quickly closing the door again in embarrassment. The next morning, Jiang Xiaoshuai teases Wu Suowei about the previous night. An embarrassed Wu Suowei confesses that despite their intimacy, they still haven't "reached the final step."
He admits he cannot fully accept the relationship and even trembles whenever he sees Chi Cheng, explaining that he needs time to adjust after being straight for over 20 years. Later, Wu Suowei drives home to visit his mother, who is overjoyed to see his new car and signs of success. He decides to take some loquats from her tree, explaining that his mother should avoid high-sugar fruits due to her high blood lipids.
When he mentions he also needs to take some for Chi Cheng, his mother immediately produces a special box she had saved for him, showing clear favoritism. Wu Suowei questions her partiality, but she explains that Chi Cheng always brings many gifts, and loquats are one of the few things they can offer in return. Meanwhile, Chi Cheng visits Jiang Xiaoshuai at the clinic, revealing he saw the chat records between him and Wu Suowei.
Chi Cheng then tasks Jiang Xiaoshuai with resolving Wu Suowei's psychological barriers within five days so that Wu Suowei will sincerely accept him. He issues a warning that if Jiang Xiaoshuai fails, Chi Cheng will revert to his former aggressive self, and his treatment of Jiang Xiaoshuai might not be as lenient as it is with Wu Suowei. To carry out this task, Jiang Xiaoshuai feigns heavy drunkenness when Wu Suowei arrives.
He dramatically tells Wu Suowei that the "trouble is coming from him," claiming Chi Cheng threatened to target Jiang Xiaoshuai if Wu Suowei did not fully commit. Jiang Xiaoshuai links this threat to Guo Chengyu, explaining that because Guo Chengyu is interested in him, and Wu Suowei hasn't accepted Chi Cheng, Chi Cheng is now placing the blame on him. He then theatrically offers to "submit" to Chi Cheng if necessary.
Alarmed, Wu Suowei promises to resolve the situation and rushes off. Wu Suowei then calls Guo Chengyu, pleading with him to protect Jiang Xiaoshuai. Guo Chengyu calmly suggests that if he simply stops pursuing Jiang Xiaoshuai, then Jiang Xiaoshuai would be safe. Believing he has found a solution, Wu Suowei returns to Jiang Xiaoshuai with the "good news" that Guo Chengyu will no longer pursue him. However, Jiang Xiaoshuai reacts with feigned disappointment rather than relief.
