Meanwhile, Su Yunjin had just finished a late work meeting. Su Yunjin initially declined Mr Xu's offer to drive her home, planning to take a taxi.
However, upon seeing Mo Yuhua's message about Cheng Zheng's emergency surgery, she was shocked and distressed. Mr Xu immediately offered to drive her to the hospital, which she gratefully accepted. Outside Cheng Zheng's room, Zhou Ziyi was casually playing a game on his phone. Mo Yuhua, who was preparing to go abroad, expressed her worry about both Zhou Ziyi and Cheng Zheng. Seeing everyone exhausted, Su Yunjin insisted that they all go home to rest while she stayed to care for Cheng Zheng. Mr Xu initially brought up work, but then told her to prioritize Cheng Zheng and discuss work the next day.
After Mr Xu, Mo Yuhua, and Zhou Ziyi left, Su Yunjin tearfully apologized to Cheng Zheng again, who comforted her. Later that night, Cheng Zheng cried out in pain. Su Yunjin quickly summoned a doctor, who explained the pain was due to the anaesthetic wearing off and advised Cheng Zheng to walk around for faster recovery.

He also praised Su Yunjin's cooking as being as good as his mother's. His mother then suggested hiring a caretaker for daytime and having Su Yunjin care for him at night, an idea Zhang Yue supported, reminding everyone of Su Yunjin's own work commitments. Cheng Zheng, however, clearly wished Su Yunjin would stay all the time. While Cheng Zheng was distracted, Zhang Yue and Su Yunjin stepped outside.
Su Yunjin immediately apologized for unwittingly helping Shen Juan, regretting that her good intentions led to trouble. Zhang Yue responded with a gentle smile, assuring Su Yunjin that she knew she was unaware of Shen Juan's true nature and held no resentment. Zhang Yue then revealed she had divorced Shen Juan, but she remained optimistic, believing she was still young enough to start anew and live well without him. She observed that Su Yunjin and Cheng Zheng's relationship seemed strong.
Upon their return to the room, Cheng Zheng, in a playful mood, questioned their long absence. She thanked Su Yunjin for her care, advising her not to spoil Cheng Zheng, and promised to arrange for a caretaker. Finally, everyone departed, leaving Su Yunjin to attend to Cheng Zheng. While caring for Cheng Zheng, Su Yunjin remained dedicated to her work. She received a call from Elsa, who informed her that Mr Xu wanted them to collaborate on Mr Lin's project.
Su Yunjin explained she was on leave at the hospital due to Cheng Zheng's surgery but assured Elsa she would keep pace with her responsibilities. Elsa expressed surprise that Su Yunjin was still burdened with work despite her upcoming departure, to which Su Yunjin replied that she believed in finishing what she started and felt a sense of obligation to MD Network because of the Shen Juan incident.
Cheng Zheng observed Su Yunjin's constant work and expressed his displeasure, suggesting she stop working after she resigned and instead become a housewife once he achieved success. Su Yunjin, however, firmly believed in the importance of having one's own career. Later, Elsa visited, bringing a fruit basket and offering to provide a caretaker on Mr Xu's behalf. Cheng Zheng, feeling unwell, abruptly asked Elsa and Su Yunjin to leave. Elsa handed the fruit basket to Su Yunjin and departed. He informed them that a crucial meeting with Mr Lin was scheduled for the following afternoon to finalize the project. Later, Su Yunjin discreetly requested a day off from Mr Xu to accompany Cheng Zheng to his follow-up check-up. He added that he would reluctantly approve her leave if absolutely necessary, leaving Su Yunjin in a difficult position. As Zhang Yue went to get the car, Cheng Zheng, despite his frustration, asked her where he could find hairy crabs, explaining he wanted to buy some for Su Yunjin, who loved them. During her work dinner, Su Yunjin texted Cheng Zheng to let him know she would be eating with clients and that he and Zhang Yue should have dinner, her treat.
That evening, Cheng Zheng returned home with the hairy crabs, but found the apartment lights off, indicating Su Yunjin was not yet home. Realizing he didn't have his keys, Cheng Zheng called Su Yunjin. To his shock and growing fury, Mr Xu answered her phone, explaining that Su Yunjin was in the restroom, having become a bit drunk after receiving numerous toasts for her significant contributions to the project.
He reassured Cheng Zheng that a female colleague was looking after her. Enraged, Cheng Zheng demanded to know her exact location, but Mr Xu refused, citing the presence of clients and suggesting Cheng Zheng's sudden appearance might upset Su Yunjin. Mr Xu promised to have a female colleague send her home, then abruptly hung up. Cheng Zheng was furious after Mr Xu abruptly hung up, leaving him to seethe with unanswered questions about Su Yunjin's whereabouts and safety.
Meanwhile, oblivious to Cheng Zheng's mounting anger, Su Yunjin lay unconscious on a chair at the client dinner, being tended to by Elsa. Mr Xu, addressing Mr Lin, apologized for Su Yunjin's low alcohol tolerance and assured him she would only consume non-alcoholic beverages in future interactions. As night deepened, Elsa eventually brought Su Yunjin home.
They found Cheng Zheng sitting outside the door, his face grim and a plate of scattered hairy crabs on the ground beside him, clearly indicating a long wait and growing frustration. Still somewhat disoriented, Su Yunjin asked Cheng Zheng why he was outside and if he forgot his keys. Cheng Zheng, suppressing his rage, sharply demanded to know who she was drinking with.
Elsa quickly interjected, explaining that the clients insisted on celebrating the successful project and toasted Su Yunjin multiple times as she was the key contributor. After Elsa left, Cheng Zheng, still simmering, dismissively referred to the hairy crabs he painstakingly bought as "rubbish." Su Yunjin unlocked the door, but Cheng Zheng walked past her without a word, his face devoid of emotion, though his suppressed anger was palpable.
