Song Qingchun quickly explained her presence at Su Zhinian's home, clarifying that she was there for her father's medical treatment and to rescue Huateng Land, not to take Cheng Qingcong's job. She reassured Cheng Qingcong that her contract was only for 100 days and she wouldn't stay a minute longer.
Song Qingchun then asked Cheng Qingcong about Dr. Yan's preferences, hoping to send him a thank-you gift for her father's care. Cheng Qingcong smiled, telling her not to worry, as Dr. Yan and Su Zhinian were good friends. Shortly after, Song Qingchun received a text from Qin Yinan, informing her he would return to Jiangli on Tuesday evening. Thrilled, she immediately called Tang Nuan, eager to share the good news and planning to visit her at the TV station.
Hearing this, Cheng Qingcong offered to drive Song Qingchun in Su Zhinian's car. On their way, Cheng Qingcong spoke highly of Su Zhinian, praising him as an understanding and capable boss. She recounted how he had once helped clear her name when she was unjustly accused by her manager, Mr. Qi, at her previous company, leading her to apply for an assistant position at Geiger Capital after witnessing his integrity.
Song Qingchun, however, remained skeptical, attributing Su Zhinian's helpfulness to a quota for good deeds and believing he still had a generally bad impression with her. Meanwhile, Dr. Yan tried repeatedly to reach Su Zhinian by phone and message, growing increasingly frustrated when he received no response. He called Cheng Qingcong, asking for Su Zhinian's whereabouts, but Cheng Qingcong, discreetly hiding Song Qingchun's stay at Su Zhinian's, claimed ignorance, even feigning a bad signal.
Later, Su Zhinian, fresh from a run, discovered Song Qingchun had left without eating breakfast. Annoyed, he messaged her, demanding she report her itinerary or face a breach of contract, which immediately wiped away any fleeting positive impressions Song Qingchun might have formed of him. He presented her with a detailed presentation outlining various household chores, including daily bed linen changes, quilt airing, kitchen and bathroom cleaning with specific disinfectants, shoe arrangement, and garbage disposal. Song Qingchun protested, arguing that her contract was not for a housekeeper.
Su Zhinian, however, invoked his right to final interpretation and additional terms as per their agreement. He lectured her on her recent failures in logic, self-management, and time planning, citing the fire incident, disorganized fridge, and uncleaned bathroom as evidence of poor executive potential. He also questioned her progress on the study materials he provided. Emphasizing that "how can you manage a company if you can't manage a house," he insisted she start with basic housekeeping.
Left with no choice, Song Qingchun reluctantly complied, grumbling as she washed pots, cleaned dishes, mopped floors, and fed the fish, all while Su Zhinian continued to explain the deeper philosophical implications of her tasks. Later, while playing basketball with Su Zhinian, Dr. Yan noticed a change in his friend's demeanor, which he humorously described as a "primal force racing through his prefrontal cortex."
He jokingly asked Su Zhinian how he dealt with love rivals, quickly deducing that Song Qingchun and Qin Yinan's return were the cause of Su Zhinian's emotional "parabolic curve." Dr. Yan advised Su Zhinian to not fall deeper, stating they were "not suitable." After their game, Dr. Yan attempted to stay the night at Su Zhinian's house to avoid driving home, but Su Zhinian, concocting an excuse about an urgent overseas meeting, politely refused him.
On Tuesday morning, Song Qingchun woke early and meticulously dressed, hoping to make a good impression on Qin Yinan. Su Zhinian, observing her efforts, felt a shadow fall over him, annoyed by her attention to another man. He immediately began to stall her. Finally, after she completed all tasks, she challenged him, demanding he be satisfied. With no more excuses to hold her back, Song Qingchun rushed out to head to the airport. Stranded and anxious, Song Qingchun lamented the difficulty of getting a taxi and her imminent lateness. Realizing she was lost and time was running out, Song Qingchun angrily confronted Su Zhinian before calling Tang Nuan, asking her to pick up Qin Yinan from the airport instead. Tang Nuan readily agreed. Later that evening, Tang Nuan confirmed she had picked up Qin Yinan, but playfully refused to disclose what they discussed when Song Qingchun eagerly inquired.
Su Zhinian also texted Song Qingchun, warning her not to disturb his sleep, or he would cancel their plans to go to Huateng Land the next morning. The following day, Su Zhinian and Song Qingchun arrived at Huateng Land. Employees were abuzz, admiring Su Zhinian's handsomeness and identifying him as the CEO of Geiger Capital. They also noted the arrival of a new, equally handsome head of the Legal Department: Qin Yinan.
Song Qingchun excitedly greeted Qin Yinan, but Su Zhinian quickly warned her to "mind her image," adding that if she continued to be willful, she would have to raise her own investment. To ease the awkwardness, Song Qingchun stepped in, welcoming "Attorney Qin" to the Legal Department on behalf of Huateng Land and expressing her anticipation of his guidance. Su Zhinian, visibly displeased, used his powers to swat at a non-existent "mosquito," subtly disrupting the moment.
Qin Yinan asked Song Qingchun how she came to connect with Geiger Capital, and she explained that a friend introduced her after her father's incident, not realizing it was Su Zhinian's company. Song Qingchun then suggested a welcome dinner for Qin Yinan, but he declined, citing a busy first day at work. Song Qingchun insisted that he couldn't escape the meal.
