Assistant of Superstar Recap

Episode 1 Recap

Yuchi Yao Yao, a diligent and hardworking third-year history student at Jiangzhou University, also worked part-time as a private tutor. She often felt like "the model child" but secretly longed for a little change in her life. In stark contrast, You Xi, a popular idol, had been a "baddie" since childhood, believing his good looks were enough for success and that hard work was only for ordinary people. Despite their contrasting lives, their paths converged over a book.

One day, at a bookstore, Yao Yao was searching for a copy of "Gongyang Commentary" for her boyfriend's birthday. She encountered You Xi, who was also looking for the same book. A heated argument ensued, with You Xi claiming he saw it first and Yao Yao insisting she took it first. The situation escalated when You Xi's fans discovered him. To escape, he instinctively grabbed Yao Yao and hid, accidentally swapping their identical black backpacks in the process.

This exchange had immediate repercussions: You Xi’s critical Character Exposition essay for a new drama audition was mistakenly replaced by an essay titled "My Dad," leading to an awkward encounter with Director Wei Ran. This mix-up also caused an embarrassing setback for Yao Yao during a private tutor interview. Meanwhile, You Xi was fiercely competing with Song Qie Ge for the male lead role in Director Wei Ran's new film, "Chancellor Zhong."

You Xi publicly declared his determination to win the part. However, his agent, Zhu Da Zhuang, doubted You Xi's ability to grasp the historical context required. To prepare You Xi, Zhu Da Zhuang announced he had hired the top student from Jiangzhou University's history department—who, to their mutual dismay, turned out to be Yuchi Yao Yao. Their reunion immediately sparked another furious argument about the backpack mix-up and its consequences.

Yao Yao, disgusted by You Xi's arrogance and his dismissive attitude toward the role, flatly refused to be his teacher. As she stormed off, her forgotten phone rang. You Xi answered it, only to find Song Qie Ge on the line, trying to poach Yao Yao as his own tutor and subtly provoking You Xi. Feeling his role threatened, You Xi acted decisively.

He announced that he had bought out all of Yao Yao’s classes for the foreseeable future and then threatened to file a complaint against her through the tutor accreditation system, reminding her that a second complaint would bar her from teaching on any platform. Faced with this ultimatum, Yao Yao reluctantly agreed to tutor him and signed a confidentiality agreement.

Zhu Da Zhuang then tasked Yao Yao with ensuring You Xi secured the role within two months, reiterating the complaint threat if she failed. The next morning, Yao Yao arrived at You Xi's residence. Zhu Da Zhuang, who preferred to be called Maury, informed her that You Xi had an afternoon schedule, so the class would be in the morning, and restricted her access to the first floor.

Yao Yao, however, found You Xi screaming upstairs about a cockroach, which she promptly dealt with. She then insisted he come downstairs for the lesson, presenting him with a large stack of history books. You Xi proved to be a difficult student, making multiple trips to the bathroom. When he saw a news report claiming Song Qie Ge had secured the lead role, he became agitated.

Yao Yao seized the opportunity to create a mock news report about his failure to motivate him, urging him to take his studies seriously if he truly wanted the part. He grudgingly agreed but continued to tease her. Later, he made her pick out his clothes, rejecting every option before finally choosing the first black jacket she had offered.

He then forced her to accompany him to the film set, threatening another complaint if she refused, and demanded she pose as his assistant. Their journey to the set was challenging. Stuck in traffic, Yao Yao suggested they use a bicycle, leading You Xi to complain about his hair. Despite his theatrics, he rode the bike recklessly, causing delays.

Upon arriving at the set for his drama, "Accidentally in Love," You Xi was supposed to perform a "borrowed-angle" kiss with actress Zheng Jia Er, but she gave him a real one, much to his annoyance. Later, a stunt double was suddenly unavailable, leading the director to consider cutting the scene. You Xi, however, insisted on performing the wire stunt himself. Yao Yao urged him to reconsider, citing the danger, but he refused.

As You Xi performed the stunt, the wire tragically snapped, sending him plummeting to the ground, where he lay unconscious. Yao Yao rushed to his side and frantically called for an ambulance. At the hospital, You Xi was diagnosed with a minor fracture in his right arm. Zhu Da Zhuang, panicking over potential financial losses, initially blamed Yao Yao for being on set.

When Zhu Da Zhuang suggested his assistant take care of You Xi, You Xi adamantly demanded that Yao Yao be his caretaker, once again threatening to file a complaint if she refused. Reluctantly, Yao Yao agreed. Afterward, she pulled Zhu Da Zhuang aside, expressing her suspicion that the accident was intentional. She pointed out the sudden unavailability of the stunt double, the presence of a new stunt crew member, and the wire breaking despite being checked by experienced professionals.

She urged Zhu Da Zhuang to investigate the matter thoroughly. Acknowledging her concerns, he agreed to look into it. The following day, Yao Yao returned to the hospital for You Xi's lesson. You Xi, demanding as ever, ordered her to buy him braised chicken, a food he hadn't eaten in five years due to his company's strict diet. When Zhu Da Zhuang called, You Xi made Yao Yao answer and pretended to be eating healthily.

However, Zhu Da Zhuang spotted chicken bones, prompting You Xi to blame Yao Yao for eating "junk food" in his room and threaten another complaint, forcing her to dispose of the evidence.

Later, You Xi presented Yao Yao with a long list of unusual tasks, including circling answers on a 999-question history test, fetching his blanket from home (then changing his mind and telling her to roll on the hospital blanket to "give it her scent"), and peeling 999 melon seeds. When Yao Yao later reported completing all tasks, You Xi questioned the exact count of the melon seeds.

Zhu Da Zhuang called again, scolding Yao Yao for planning to leave and reiterating that she must stay by You Xi's side "inch by inch" until he recovered, or face a complaint. That night, Yao Yao, exhausted, dozed off by You Xi's bedside. In her sleep, she replayed the accident, muttering worriedly about the "dangerous wire." You Xi, observing her, felt an unexpected warmth.

The next morning, Yao Yao awoke to find her head resting on You Xi's arm, leading to an awkward silence. Their moment was interrupted by the arrival of his friend, Qi Chao. You Xi, introducing Yao Yao as his "new assistant," dismissed her from the room, disparaging her as "dumb" to Qi Chao. Later, Yao Yao received a call from her boyfriend, Yin Jiu, which disconnected before he could say something important, leaving her troubled.

As Qi Chao was leaving, he offered Yao Yao some cryptic advice, telling her not to fully obey You Xi, but not to defy him either. Feeling restless, You Xi dragged Yao Yao out of the hospital, having circumvented Zhu Da Zhuang's attempt to hide his shoes and bag. While disguised, they stumbled upon a fan meeting for Song Qie Ge.

Later, You Xi humorously failed to "face-pay" for shoes at a store, with the cashier joking his face was "too big." Yao Yao used her own money to buy him a cheap pair. As they walked, they unexpectedly encountered Yin Jiu with Tong Jin, Yao Yao’s close friend. Tong Jin brazenly revealed that she and Yin Jiu were a couple, smugly referring to a text message exchange in which Yao Yao had supposedly already agreed to a breakup.

Utterly bewildered, Yao Yao looked at her phone, unable to recall any such conversation. Tong Jin harshly criticized Yao Yao, claiming Yin Jiu had only stayed with her out of respect for her father, his mentor, and that he no longer needed them now that he had his doctorate. At this point, You Xi stepped forward, subtly displaying his own expensive, limited-edition watch.

He calmly announced that "he" was the one who had sent the text agreeing to the breakup from Yao Yao's phone. Then, possessively taking her arm, he dramatically declared that he and Yuchi Yao Yao had been together for a long time, turning to a stunned Yao Yao and asking, "Isn't that right?"

Episode 2 Recap

Following up on his decision to help Yao Yao confront her ex-boyfriend, Yin Jiu, and his new girlfriend, Tong Jin, You Xi wraps his arm around Yao Yao and declares that they have been together for a long time. Tong Jin mocks Yao Yao as a mere "extra" and You Xi as an "upstart," infuriating him.

Later, Yao Yao is angry with You Xi for meddling, but he explains he was simply helping her dump Yin Jiu before Yin Jiu could dump her. When she tries to get physical, You Xi dodges her, stating he never hits women, especially in public. Afterward, You Xi discovers rumors about him and his co-star, Zheng Jia'er, are spreading on Weibo, sparked by a single promotional still from their drama.

He is particularly frustrated that Zheng Jia'er liked the post, making it harder for him to clear his name. Meanwhile, Yao Yao recalls Yin Jiu's insensitive words about finding true love with Tong Jin and becomes enraged. Vowing to fight back against the online slander targeting You Xi, she gets his approval and begins posting fiery replies to the negative comments.

The situation escalates when Yin Jiu texts Yao Yao, asking her to delay telling her father, Professor Yuchi, about their breakup until after his thesis defense to protect his grades. This fuels her anger, and she continues her aggressive online campaign. Concerned about Yao Yao's recent erratic behavior—such as giving him soda with his medicine and a suit instead of pajamas—You Xi calls his manager, Da Zhuang, worried she is taking out her post-breakup anger on him.

He then calls Yao Yao, but a sudden scream on her end makes him panic, thinking she is attempting self-harm over her "garbage boyfriend." In reality, a fire has just broken out in her apartment due to faulty wiring. You Xi rushes over and brings her to his house for safety, asking her to be discreet as he has never had an overnight guest before. The next morning, You Xi is woken by the sound of a vacuum.

Yao Yao is already cleaning and has created an extensive study schedule for him, taping it to the wall to ensure he stays focused. Annoyed, You Xi tries to ignore it, but she follows him everywhere, reminding him of his study times. He only gets a chance to play video games when she briefly leaves the house. Later, during a heavy rainstorm, Yao Yao returns, drenched.

As You Xi gives her a towel and some of his clothes, they both slip on the wet floor, and she falls into his arms, creating an awkward moment. The rain reminds Yao Yao of the day she met Yin Jiu, and she becomes sad. You Xi offers to be her confidant but realizes it is not a sustainable solution. To distract her and get some peace for himself, he enrolls her in a driving school.

However, her first day is a disaster; she accidentally injures all three of her instructors. The furious school director threatens to call the police and demands compensation, but You Xi turns the tables, accusing the school of negligence for leaving a student unattended. He declares they are voluntarily withdrawing and agrees to cover the medical expenses before pulling Yao Yao away.

You Xi then decides to teach her himself, using his own body as a marker to guide her while reversing. Unfortunately, Yao Yao confuses the accelerator with the brake and hits him, sending him to the hospital for the second time. His manager, Da Zhuang, arrives and tries to fire Yao Yao, but You Xi defends her, simply asking her to bring him some porridge. Back at his home, Yao Yao helps the injured You Xi to his room.

She initially closes her eyes, respecting his strict rule about no one entering his private space. After she helps him to bed, he tells her she no longer needs to cover her eyes when entering. She realizes his rules are not just about his germaphobia but stem from a deep need for personal space in a life where he has little control. He quietly confirms her insight and asks her to leave.

Soon after, Assistant Director Chen and Producer Cai visit You Xi, bringing a reporter to pressure him about returning to work and to address rumors of him "playing the big shot." You Xi counters that his "original aspiration" is to produce good work, and the current script is full of "literary mistakes." He insists that filming must be halted for revisions and surprisingly suggests that Yao Yao can help compile the necessary notes.

Later, You Xi learns the real reason Da Zhuang is rushing him back to work: a newcomer named Pan Duo has been cast as the second female lead. Yao Yao discovers Pan Duo is from SG Entertainment and is personally managed by Da Zhuang. Intrigued, You Xi decides to see what makes her so special. On his first day back on set, Zheng Jia'er gives You Xi lilies, feigning ignorance of his allergy.

Annoyed by her publicity stunts, he tells her to go to makeup and has Yao Yao take the flowers away. Pan Duo approaches You Xi to rehearse lines, but he rudely dismisses her. Despite this, their first scene together is a surprising success. Later, Da Zhuang visits the set and reveals that Pan Duo is his niece, leaving You Xi visibly bothered.

Da Zhuang also confirms that the stunt wires from You Xi's accident were indeed tampered with and that the suspicious crew member Yao Yao saw has since disappeared. You Xi immediately suspects his rival, Song Qie Ge, pointing to their long history of competition. Da Zhuang then explains to Yao Yao the root of their animosity. You Xi, Song Qie Ge, and another trainee, Cai Xun Wei, were once close friends.

However, Song Qie Ge sabotaged Cai Xun Wei during a crucial audition, effectively ending his career. Song Qie Ge used the role to become a top star at SG Entertainment. A year later, You Xi joined the same company, quickly surpassed him, and used his newfound influence to have Song Qie Ge expelled.

Episode 3 Recap

While You Xi, Yao Yao, and Pan Duo were having a meal, Pan Duo offered her meat to You Xi, who then teased her about being an actress who should watch her weight. Their meal was interrupted when Song Qie Ge arrived uninvited with the media. You Xi's assistant, Yao Yao, quickly intervened, informing the press that You Xi's new film was under wraps and no photos or interviews were allowed.

Song Qie Ge feigned an apology, claiming he'd forgotten they were filming, but then provocatively questioned You Xi's leg injury, implying he faked it to gain sympathy, and disparaged his acting as akin to a children's TV show. The tension stemmed from You Xi, upon becoming SG Entertainment's new top actor, having had Song Qie Ge removed from the company. Song Qie Ge escalated the confrontation by insulting You Xi, calling him "ugly" and "illiterate."

You Xi retaliated by throwing a dictionary at him. Yao Yao stepped in, delivering a sharp rebuke to Song Qie Ge for his provocative behavior. She cited manipulative historical figures who met ill fates, leaving Song Qie Ge speechless. Afterward, You Xi offered Yao Yao water, affectionately calling her "Little Blockhead." Yao Yao explained she kept the dictionary on set so You Xi could look up unfamiliar words in scripts and avoid being mocked.

You Xi, however, expressed frustration, believing he could have easily won the fight if Yao Yao hadn't interfered. When You Xi was reluctant to apply medicine to a minor cut, fearing it would seem unmanly, Yao Yao confessed she intervened in the fight because she preferred him over Song Qie Ge. The confession caused a flustered You Xi to blush, a reaction Yao Yao playfully pointed out.

Soon after, You Xi's manager, Da Zhuang, informed Yao Yao that the stuntman involved in You Xi's accident had indeed met with Song Qie Ge's assistant. Enraged, You Xi wanted to confront Song Qie Ge, but Yao Yao urged caution, reminding him they lacked sufficient evidence. Shortly thereafter, Da Zhuang called again, revealing that an edited video of You Xi hitting Song Qie Ge had gone viral. The clip maliciously omitted Song Qie Ge's provocations, showing only You Xi's retaliation.

The public backlash was severe, with online comments branding You Xi as arrogant and difficult, and his name dominating the top trending searches. Meanwhile, Song Qie Ge reveled in the fallout, mockingly suggesting he find You Xi new endorsements for products like children's toys or fertilizer, as many of his sponsors were pulling out. With his image damaged and endorsements dwindling, Da Zhuang secured a "Refreshing Summer Florida Water" endorsement for You Xi.

The shoot was located at the remote Dabao Mountain Wetlands, much to You Xi's displeasure. However, Yao Yao advised him to adapt to the circumstances, citing historical figures like King Gou Jian and Han Xin who endured great hardship. Reluctantly, You Xi agreed. During the shoot, Yao Yao was severely bitten by mosquitoes. When You Xi applied the endorsed Florida Water to her bites, her irritation worsened. Suspicious, You Xi had Da Zhuang send the product for testing.

He also took two days off from filming to care for Yao Yao, buying her a pink princess-style bed under the mistaken belief that she liked the color. The next day, Da Zhuang and Pan Duo arrived with the test report, which revealed the Florida Water was a counterfeit "three-no product" containing toxic substances, explaining Yao Yao's allergic reaction.

Pan Duo, who calls You Xi "uncle," was shocked to find Yao Yao living with the germaphobic You Xi, and even more surprised that he had allowed her to drink his homemade soup. Da Zhuang confirmed they would immediately terminate the fraudulent contract. Just then, Qi Chao arrived to check on You Xi. Pan Duo, instantly smitten, opened the door and, after fantasizing about him proposing, blurted out "I will!" leaving Qi Chao bewildered.

It was soon confirmed that the Florida Water endorsement was a malicious scheme orchestrated by Song Qie Ge. The company was a shell corporation, and its staff had vanished. As Da Zhuang ordered the filmed advertisement to be deleted, You Xi and Yao Yao set out to investigate the plot. Later, You Xi presented Yao Yao with a fan featuring an authentic painting by the famous artist Zheng Banqiao, which he had commissioned to replace her old one. He gave it to her with the solemn instruction, "If the fan exists, you exist. If the fan is destroyed, you are destroyed," tying her to the precious gift's fate.

Episode 4 Recap

During a dramatic scene, actress Zheng Jia'er delivers an exaggerated performance, forcing the director to halt the shoot. Backstage, Pan Duo explains to Yao Yao that despite Zheng Jia'er's backer securing her lead roles in three films, her terrible acting ensures all her projects flop. Pan Duo also points out that Zheng Jia'er's reliance on large colored contacts makes her eyes appear lifeless on camera, leading the director to demand she remove them, a request Zheng Jia'er initially refuses.

Later, Qi Chao arrives to meet You Xi, bringing him files containing information on all the individuals Song Qie Ge has recently met. You Xi entrusts the documents to Brother Da Zhuang for a thorough investigation. Concerned about the quality of meals on set, You Xi prepares a feast using his own cooking equipment and serves it to Yao Yao.

Before she eats, he instructs her to take photos and post them on Weibo, while he abstains, citing the need to maintain his physique. However, Yao Yao's Weibo post unintentionally sparks a trending topic: "Make donations to You Xi." Netizens, misinterpreting the situation, believe You Xi is facing financial difficulties after seeing a knock-off phone in the photos. Some even create a satirical audio clip of You Xi supposedly stranded in Ethiopia asking for money.

Frustrated that his assistant would use such a device, You Xi sarcastically remarks that fans' donations are about to arrive before instructing Brother Da Zhuang to release a clarifying statement. He then gives Yao Yao a new, advanced "work phone," claiming he bought one for himself as part of a half-price deal. That evening, the drama's wrap party is held at a KTV.

Brother Da Zhuang updates You Xi on the investigation, confirming he has identified the true controller of "Summer Breeze," the shell company linked to the Florida Water brand. However, he lacks direct evidence to incriminate them, but You Xi assures him he has his own methods for finding the truth. Pan Duo then tries to persuade a reluctant You Xi to join the celebration, mentioning Yao Yao is inside. As the night progresses, Yao Yao becomes severely intoxicated.

You Xi carries her home, but she unexpectedly vomits on him. Despite his strong aversion to uncleanliness, You Xi forces himself to clean her up. As he wipes the stains from her clothing, a drunken Yao Yao complains that he is being fierce, unlike his usual gentle self. Her eyes then flutter open, and she recognizes him. Overcome by the moment, You Xi kisses her. The next morning, Yao Yao awakens in her bed, disoriented.

She is relieved to find Pan Duo asleep beside her, who explains that You Xi called her at 2 AM to help clean Yao Yao up. Pan Duo recounts that Yao Yao was "extremely drunk" and had tormented a frustrated You Xi all night, pulling him to sing and dance. Meanwhile, You Xi is consumed by the memory of the kiss, finding it incredibly embarrassing.

When he approaches Yao Yao, she immediately apologizes for vomiting on him and asks if he intends to fire her. Relieved that she doesn't remember the kiss, You Xi jokingly exaggerates her drunken antics, claiming she bit a large hole in his expensive Iranian carpet, a fabrication she immediately questions.

Later, while chatting with You Xi and Yao Yao, Pan Duo casually remarks that Yao Yao "has zero relationship experience and hasn't even kissed," dismissing Yao Yao's protest about a childhood kiss. You Xi is stunned to realize he stole Yao Yao's first kiss, and his guilt intensifies after seeing an online post from a "coward" who took a girl's first kiss and didn't take responsibility.

He tries to confess to Yao Yao, but Pan Duo's constant interruptions leave him exasperated. Noticing his distress, Pan Duo advises him to confide in his best friend, Qi Chao. You Xi meets Qi Chao at a secluded restaurant, explaining his predicament under the guise of a "friend" who accidentally kissed his drunk secretary, only to learn it was her first. He expresses his dilemma: telling her is embarrassing, but not telling her is infuriating.

Sensing the truth, Qi Chao lists signs of being in love, such as constantly peeking at the person and feeling one's heartbeat accelerate during physical contact. You Xi mentally confirms three out of four signs, hinting at his developing feelings. Qi Chao advises that if his "friend" confesses, he must mentally prepare the girl first to avoid severe consequences.

Back home, You Xi practices his confession before going to Yao Yao's room, only to be startled when she opens the door holding a small knife, which she calmly explains is for sharpening a pencil. He then tries to normalize kissing by having her watch a scene from one of his dramas. When asked for her thoughts, You Xi clarifies he just wants to show that kissing is a normal act.

To his shock, Yao Yao vehemently disagrees, asserting that a kiss is a "sacred contract" that binds two people for life. As You Xi's eyes widen in horror, she bursts into laughter, revealing she was joking. Suddenly, Brother Da Zhuang bursts in with alarming news.

He frantically informs You Xi that Weibo is filled with reports of severe allergic reactions caused by the Florida Water brand he endorses, showing him a video of a distressed grandmother whose grandson is covered in rashes.

Episode 5 Recap

Following the Florida Water scandal, Zhu Da Zhuang informs You Xi that although Mr. Sun is the mastermind, the legal representative's identity was falsified, and with no direct evidence linking Mr. Sun to the company, You Xi must shoulder all the blame. Dejected, You Xi confides in Yao Yao, recalling a traumatic incident from his trainee days when a rival had red paint thrown on him during his debut.

He explains that he refused to reconcile when the company later hired that same rival, leading him to quit and pursue acting. Yao Yao mentions Zhu Da Zhuang’s praise for his past triumph over Song Qie Ge, but You Xi dismisses Song Qie Ge as insignificant. Brushing off Yao Yao’s concerns about being blacklisted, You Xi confidently assures her that he is much stronger now.

He then instructs Zhu Da Zhuang to arrange a press conference for the next day to publicly clarify the incident. Meanwhile, Mr. Sun plans to flee overseas, leaving You Xi to face the fallout, a move his rivals see as a desperate attempt to garner sympathy. To celebrate his anticipated exoneration, You Xi treats everyone to dinner.

When a large chicken drumstick is served, Pan Duo claims she is on a diet, while You Xi and Qi Chao both state they dislike chicken, so You Xi gives it to Yao Yao. During the meal, Qi Chao goes to the restroom as an excuse to get away from Pan Duo, but she misinterprets it as a signal for a private chat and follows him.

Outside, when fans ask for a photo with Qi Chao, a jealous Pan Duo argues with them, snatches their phone to take a terrible picture, and then complains about the result. She then clings to Qi Chao’s arm, telling him to hold her tighter as he leads her away. Later, back home, You Xi broaches the topic of kissing, asking Yao Yao if she considers it serious.

He suggests that while it's fine between two willing people, it becomes indecent if one person is drunk. Yao Yao then reveals she saw Pan Duo steal a kiss from him the night he was inebriated, warning him about her potential intentions. Suddenly, Yao Yao notices small red spots on You Xi's neck and hands. A doctor confirms he is having an allergic reaction to mushrooms from dinner, which has caused his vocal cords to swell.

Unable to speak clearly, You Xi cannot attend the press conference. Zhu Da Zhuang persuades a reluctant Yao Yao to take his place, arguing that as the first victim of the faulty Florida Water and as his assistant, her testimony would be the most convincing. On the day of the press conference, Yao Yao, who secretly suffers from agoraphobia, nervously approaches the podium.

She introduces herself as Yuchi Yao Yao, You Xi's assistant, but is met with jeers from the crowd. Despite Zhu Da Zhuang's encouragement, the barrage of camera flashes and reporters' questions about You Xi’s absence overwhelms her. Her mind goes blank, and she flees the stage in a panic, causing chaos and fueling speculation that You Xi is dodging responsibility.

Just as the press conference descends into chaos, with SG Entertainment's representative, Maury, struggling to manage the situation, You Xi dramatically arrives. Having found Yao Yao's anxiety medication at home, he had deduced her fear of public speaking and rushed to the venue. He explains that Yao Yao had an allergic reaction to the Florida Water during the ad shoot and subsequent tests revealed toxic substances, prompting him to terminate the contract and issue warnings.

When a reporter dismisses this as a story without proof, You Xi reveals his trump card: he had paid the fraudulent company three times the stipulated liquidated damages along with the termination notice. He correctly gambled that the greedy Mr. Sun would be unable to resist transferring the large sum, thereby linking himself directly to the company. As a result, Mr. Sun was apprehended at the airport trying to flee with the money.

You Xi announces a lawsuit against the company for fraud and malicious slander, while also taking personal responsibility and promising more diligent scrutiny of future endorsements. After the successful press conference, You Xi immediately searches for Yao Yao. Zhu Da Zhuang laments the lack of evidence against Song Qie Ge but praises You Xi's brilliant strategy.

Learning Yao Yao left without her phone or wallet, Zhu Da Zhuang worries she has run away, but You Xi insists she is too responsible to leave, especially since they haven't finished their "Chancellor Zhong" studies. A false alarm about a suicide attempt at the Ba River sends You Xi rushing over, only to find environmental supervisors. He is relieved to spot Yao Yao standing by the riverbank and rushes to embrace her.

Back home, Yao Yao tearfully confesses her agoraphobia to You Xi and apologizes for ruining the press conference. He gently comforts her, reassuring her it wasn't her fault. Yao Yao explains that her dream has always been to become a teacher, a goal hindered by her condition. Touched by her determination to overcome her fear for his sake, You Xi is confident she will recover.

The next day, You Xi creates a "virtual classroom" at home with plants as students, playfully naming them to help Yao Yao practice. However, when he accidentally pricks his hand on a cactus, the sight of blood triggers a traumatic memory for Yao Yao.

Shortly after, while You Xi is on the phone with a doctor about Yao Yao’s social anxiety, Zhu Da Zhuang calls to inform him that the company has decided to fire her over the press conference incident. Furious, You Xi storms into a board meeting, arguing that her mistake was not severe enough for dismissal and praising her competence.

Mr. Zhang tries to appease him with a lead role in a major period drama, "The Founding of the Three Kingdoms," but You Xi refuses, citing his commitment to Director Wei Ran’s "Chancellor Zhong" and his aversion to period dramas, especially after learning Song Qie Ge is also being considered for a role.

Episode 6 Recap

Following his confrontation with company executives, You Xi is forced to choose between accepting an unwanted new acting role and replacing his assistant, Yao Yao. To ensure Yao Yao can remain by his side, You Xi reluctantly agrees to take on the new role in a drama called "Founding of the Three Kingdoms." After signing the contract, he is dismayed to discover it requires him to attend a 10-day exclusive training course on the history of the period.

You Xi complains bitterly about returning to student life, having to wake early for classes, and staying in a dorm. Yao Yao, however, sees the training as a valuable opportunity to help him better interpret his character, noting that it will even take place at their university. As You Xi is still processing the news, Pan Duo arrives at his home, excitedly announcing it is her idol Qi Chao's birthday.

Zhu Da Zhuang also appears, and together they pressure You Xi to cook a grand birthday meal for Qi Chao as their gift. Despite You Xi's initial resistance and frustration over his friends' lack of assistance, he ultimately prepares a feast, even getting blisters on his hands. Qi Chao, however, shows little excitement or appreciation for the meal. After dinner, the group begins a game of Mahjong. You Xi consistently loses, while Pan Duo continues to dote on Qi Chao.

Annoyed, Qi Chao eventually leaves the game, citing bad feng shui. You Xi then has Yao Yao take Qi Chao's place. Although Yao Yao admits she has never played, she quickly picks up the game and begins winning repeatedly, even achieving a "self-drawn all one suit." You Xi grows increasingly frustrated, complaining that Yao Yao isn't letting him win like Pan Duo does for Qi Chao.

Yao Yao counters that Mahjong is a competition that requires fair play, and that it is more shameful to be unskilled and resort to trickery than to simply lose. Exasperated by her continuous wins, You Xi abruptly ends the game and sends everyone home. Later that evening, You Xi watches Yao Yao diligently practice a simulated class presentation. She confides that her dream is to become a teacher, despite her agoraphobia, and she practices daily to overcome her fears.

Remembering her aspiration, You Xi calls Zhu Da Zhuang and asks him to arrange a teaching assistant position for Yao Yao with the drama crew. Zhu Da Zhuang explains he cannot directly appoint her, but mentions that the crew is holding auditions for current students at Jiangzhou University. The next day, You Xi insists on accompanying Yao Yao to the audition signup. Reassuring him that she will work hard for his sake, Yao Yao successfully passes the preliminary round.

Later, they encounter Duan Fei Fei, another competitor, who coldly suggests Yao Yao shouldn't celebrate too soon, hinting at a much tougher final round. Duan Fei Fei is a well-known postdoctoral researcher from the university's history department, but You Xi dismisses her challenge and encourages Yao Yao to win. Soon after, Pan Duo abruptly appears and takes Yao Yao away to visit Qi Chao at a recording studio. They discover Qi Chao's scheduled backup singer is absent.

Pan Duo eagerly volunteers, but her performance is disastrous, and she accidentally breaks Qi Chao's favorite microphone. Pan Duo is distraught, and her spirits are further dampened when a text message from Qi Chao leaves her upset. Yao Yao returns home very late that night. You Xi, who had been managing various household chores by himself, is visibly annoyed. However, when Yao Yao apologizes for "leaving our home behind," You Xi's anger instantly melts away.

He repeats the phrase "our home" to himself several times with a wide smile. The next morning, still charmed by her words, You Xi eagerly offers to cook breakfast for her, repeatedly mentioning "our home's fridge" and "our home's dining room." Before the final interview, Zhu Da Zhuang informs You Xi about Duan Fei Fei's difficult circumstances: she is from a single-parent household, her mother is a cleaner, and her younger brother has leukemia, urgently needing a bone marrow transplant.

During the final interview, both Yao Yao and Duan Fei Fei display impressive knowledge of the Three Kingdoms. The tie-breaker question asks for the most representative award for young artists, offering "Golden Dragon Award" and "Golden Turnip Award" as options. Duan Fei Fei confidently chooses "Golden Dragon Award," dismissing the "Golden Turnip Award" as a joke. Watching the interview, You Xi wryly recalls that he himself once won a "Golden Turnip."

Yao Yao, however, chooses "Golden Turnip Award," explaining that overthinking simple matters can lead to a trap. The interviewer declares Yao Yao's answer correct, making her the winner. After the interview, Duan Fei Fei confronts Yao Yao, stating that she doesn't accept the result and vowing to defeat her in the future. You Xi, having learned about Duan Fei Fei's plight, immediately instructs Zhu Da Zhuang to anonymously transfer funds for her brother's surgery to the hospital.

Zhu Da Zhuang is initially confused, thinking You Xi would want publicity, but You Xi firmly emphasizes anonymity. Meanwhile, Duan Fei Fei receives a call from her mother, joyfully informing her that the money for her brother's surgery has been paid, leaving Duan Fei Fei bewildered but relieved. Shortly after, Yao Yao excitedly shares her own good news with You Xi: she has secured the assistant teacher job.

Elsewhere, rival actor Song Qie Ge secures the lead role in a new project titled "Zhong Fu." He also acquires a contract for another drama, "Torn Apart," slated to begin filming concurrently with You Xi's "Founding of the Three Kingdoms," and states his intention to focus on competing with You Xi. Meanwhile, to celebrate Yao Yao's new position, You Xi personally cooks a meal for her, and the two enjoy a pleasant, harmonious atmosphere.

The following morning, while jogging, Yao Yao receives a call from her ex-boyfriend, Yin Jiu. Calling him "scum," she swiftly hangs up. You Xi, noticeably annoyed by the call, becomes quiet. Upon arriving at Jiangzhou University for the training, Yao Yao enthusiastically discusses her new role, but You Xi remains preoccupied and expresses distaste for the "ugly" clothes he has been given. Suddenly, Yin Jiu appears.

He approaches Yao Yao, stating he has many things to say and wishes to talk. Before Yao Yao can respond, You Xi firmly intervenes and refuses on her behalf. Unwilling to give up, Yin Jiu reaches out to pull Yao Yao, but You Xi quickly grabs his arm, resulting in a tense standoff.

Episode 7 Recap

As the tense standoff between You Xi and Yin Jiu continued, a production staff member arrived to summon Assistant Teacher Yuchi, Yao Yao, to a meeting with the director. You Xi released Yin Jiu and, in a show of possessiveness, adjusted Yao Yao’s assistant teacher badge. To his shock, Yin Jiu then produced and donned his own assistant teacher badge. A stunned You Xi immediately called his manager, Zhu Dazhuang, to demand an explanation, but Zhu Dazhuang was evasive.

Yin Jiu then taunted You Xi, stating that if he were to quit the show, Yao Yao would lose her position as his assistant. Later, Yin Jiu approached Yao Yao alone. He questioned the legitimacy of her internship with You Xi, insinuating that You Xi was uncultured, lacked proper business licenses, and failed to provide benefits. He also offered a long-overdue apology for his past infidelity, which Yao Yao accepted, making it clear she wished to move on.

During the crew's mock examination, You Xi was visibly annoyed to see Yin Jiu among the proctors. Both he and Pan Duo were completely unprepared for the test. When strict rules against cheating were announced, You Xi declared he wanted to forfeit. Wen Moxuan arrived late and, after greeting Pan Duo, warmly acknowledged Yao Yao as his "good friend."

Throughout the exam, You Xi repeatedly tried to cheat off Yao Yao, first by feigning a broken pen and then by discreetly asking for answers, but she firmly refused to help. In desperation, he attempted to peek at Pan Duo's paper, only to be stopped by Yin Jiu. Before leaving, Yin Jiu admitted to Yao Yao that he had finished his exam half an hour earlier but lingered just for the chance to look at her.

Ultimately, You Xi was the last to submit his paper, which was completely blank. Afterward, You Xi complained to Yao Yao in the library, frustrated by her refusal to help him cheat and questioning if she had known about Yin Jiu’s role. She denied any prior knowledge. As she tutored him on the historical event of "Lü Bu's Halberd Toss," helping him see the strategist's cunning, she abruptly announced she had to leave for the airport to pick someone up.

In a taxi, Yao Yao met her father, Professor Yuchi Lin Sen, who was returning from an archaeological trip. She informed him that their house had caught fire and was undergoing renovations, reassuring him that she was safe and staying with a friend. When he asked about Yin Jiu, whom he called a "good kid," Yao Yao gave a noncommittal reply.

In the dorm, while playing cards with his roommate Wen Moxuan, You Xi loudly played a voice message from Yao Yao to feign intimacy. However, the message only contained reminders to study and notes on his typos, causing him to cut it off in embarrassment. He then complained that she never showed personal concern like other assistants.

The next day at breakfast, Wen Moxuan offered Yao Yao a specialty meat pie from the school cafeteria, mentioning he saw on social media that she liked them. Immediately, Yin Jiu appeared and offered her a meat pie as well. A visibly jealous You Xi snatched a pie, then possessively declared that Yao Yao, whom he called "Little Blockhead," no longer eats pies and prefers noodles, pointedly looking at his rivals.

Later, a troubled You Xi called his friend Qi Chao for advice. He lamented that he had woken up early to buy a meat pie for Yao Yao, only for her to refuse it due to an upset stomach. He framed his problem using a convoluted metaphor about his "friend's secretary" being pursued by her ex-boyfriend (Yin Jiu) and a "department manager" (Wen Moxuan).

Qi Chao saw through the facade and advised him that giving a girl a "sense of security" is crucial. Their conversation was cut short when they had to flee from campus security. During a basketball game, You Xi accidentally injured Yin Jiu with the ball. In the infirmary, he initially refused to apologize, but under Yao Yao's insistent gaze, he reluctantly muttered his regrets.

Yin Jiu then tried to get Yao Yao to feed him his medicine, reminiscing about a time she had done so in the past. Yao Yao refused, pointing out his hand wasn't injured, and an assistant stepped in to help. Shortly after, the cast was assembled to meet a special guest professor. You Xi grumbled about the professor's arrogance and vowed to retort if the professor was harsh. To everyone's surprise, the professor was Yao Yao's father, Yuchi Lin Sen.

He privately questioned Yao Yao about her work, mistaking her role as an assistant to an actor for working with an opera troupe. He then announced a surprise test on the history of Jingzhou. You Xi found Yao Yao preparing the test answers and tried to trick her into sharing them by feigning a broken phone and asking to use her laptop.

Seeing through his plan, Yao Yao deliberately opened the answer file and deleted its contents, explaining that their existence would only be a distraction from real learning. That night, You Xi received a birthday video call from his parents but quickly brushed them off, preoccupied with his own thoughts. After hanging up, he checked his phone for birthday wishes but was disappointed to see no message from Yao Yao. He tried calling her, but her line was busy. Frustrated, he snapped at his roommate for simply looking at him.

Episode 8 Recap

The next morning, You Xi sarcastically approached Yao Yao, questioning if she had stayed up late for the exam. He then passive-aggressively thanked her for the three-hour phone call the previous night, which he learned was with Wen Moxuan, not him. When Yao Yao asserted her right to call anyone, You Xi declared that as his full-time assistant, she must be available for him at all times.

Their tense discussion was interrupted by the arrival of Professor Yuchi, Yao Yao's father and the exam proctor, who reminded them the exam was about to start. Yao Yao introduced You Xi to her father, clarifying that she was his assistant, not his tutor. During the exam, an irritated You Xi left his paper blank. Yao Yao, serving as a teaching assistant, tried to discreetly pass him an encouraging note, but Professor Yuchi immediately noticed her blatant attempt.

You Xi, hoping for answers, was annoyed to find the note was just a message urging him to start writing. Later in class, Professor Yuchi reviewed the exam. He praised Wen Moxuan for his perfect score and Pan Duo for her poetic choice, though he critiqued her handwriting. Turning to You Xi, he noted the mostly blank paper but surprisingly commended his choice of poem, even though it was song lyrics.

Professor Yuchi then asked You Xi to write Cao Cao's poem, "Though Long May Live the Sacred Turtle," on the blackboard. When You Xi hesitated, Professor Yuchi secretly handed him a note with the poem, allowing You Xi to complete the task flawlessly. Impressed by his "performance," the professor expressed a wish to hear You Xi recite another poem in the future, leaving You Xi flattered and Yao Yao bewildered.

That evening, Yao Yao invited You Xi to the rooftop for a "very important moment," which he assumed was a surprise for his birthday. His hopes were dashed when Qi Chao and Pan Duo arrived, revealing the event was a viewing of the Lyra meteor shower. Disappointed and bored, You Xi left abruptly. He later wandered to the library rooftop, but found it empty and the door locked.

Unbeknownst to him, Yin Jiu had passed by, heard him complaining, and maliciously locked the door, also activating a signal jammer to trap him. Meanwhile, at the sports field, a distracted Yao Yao received a hairpin from Wen Moxuan as a gift. When she asked him what kind of gifts boys like, his answer—"something unattainable"—sparked a memory of a pair of shoes You Xi wanted. She immediately rushed to a shoe store, leaving Wen Moxuan behind.

The store was sold out of the outdated model, but the saleswoman, recognizing You Xi from a photo, confirmed it was his favorite style and directed her to another branch. At the same time, Zhu Da Zhuang, Pan Duo, and Qi Chao were frantically searching for You Xi to celebrate his birthday.

When Yao Yao returned with the shoes, she ran into Zhu Da Zhuang, who furiously revealed that You Xi had only agreed to star in the new drama and undergo the training to prevent her from being fired by the company. Overwhelmed with guilt, Yao Yao remembered her rooftop invitation and rushed there. She found You Xi, who dramatically pretended he was about to jump.

After she pleaded with him, praising his handsome face and promising to support him, he confronted her about leaving him alone to watch the meteor shower with Wen Moxuan. Yao Yao then gave him the shoes. He feigned displeasure, calling the style outdated, but she reminded him they were the same ones from the time he was embarrassingly chased out of a store. Secretly pleased, he immediately put them on.

Just then, they spotted what they thought was a shooting star and made wishes, but it turned out to be a plane, to You Xi's chagrin. Later, You Xi gave Yao Yao a supplementary credit card, telling her not to use her own money on him. Touched, Yao Yao read him a poem she had written, and she told him he was the first person to hear her work. Inspired by her, You Xi went to the library.

Yao Yao found him there and gave him customized, easy-to-understand notes on the Three Kingdoms period, which he studied late into the night. Despite his efforts, You Xi's score on the next exam was still a 20. Professor Yuchi praised the class's overall improvement, particularly Wen Moxuan's continued excellence and Pan Duo's creative progress. Yao Yao comforted a disheartened You Xi, pointing out his score was twenty times better than his last one and a sign of real progress.

Their conversation was interrupted by an excited call from Zhu Da Zhuang, reminding You Xi that his drama, "Accidentally in Love," was premiering that night. His mood instantly lifted, and he eagerly invited Yao Yao to watch it with him.

Episode 9 Recap

Following the premiere of his new drama, You Xi and his friends gathered in the school security room to watch it together. As You Xi and Pan Duo playfully bickered over their performances, a sudden power outage forced everyone to leave. The next day in the cafeteria, You Xi's assistant, Yao Yao, eagerly informed him that his acting had received unanimous praise online, increasing his follower count by 50,000. You Xi, however, appeared unimpressed.

Moments later, Pan Duo excitedly announced that her own followers had skyrocketed by 200,000. Visibly annoyed, You Xi questioned how Pan Duo, a newcomer, could gain four times as many fans as him. Yao Yao soothed his frustration by explaining that Pan Duo's smaller initial fan base allowed for greater growth, while You Xi's established career meant his numbers were more stable.

Later, You Xi's manager, Zhu Da Zhuang, called to confirm the drama's immense popularity and the flood of collaboration offers. Meanwhile, Yin Jiu met with actor Song Qie Ge at a cafe, revealing his personal agenda: he wanted Song Qie Ge to defeat You Xi for the lead role in Director Wei Ran's new drama, "Zhong Fu." Their meeting was interrupted by the arrival of You Xi and Yao Yao.

A verbal sparring match quickly erupted between You Xi and Song Qie Ge over the coveted role. Back in his dorm, You Xi misunderstood a video call, thinking Wen Moxuan was speaking with Yao Yao, only to snatch the phone and discover it was Wen Moxuan's star-struck twin sister, leading to an awkward moment. After class, Yin Jiu, serving as an assistant teacher, taunted You Xi, calling him an illiterate who was incompatible with the well-read Yao Yao.

To fuel You Xi's insecurity, Yin Jiu falsely claimed that Wen Moxuan had invited Yao Yao to the library that evening. Provoked, You Xi saw Yao Yao with two cups of milk tea and confronted her, accusing her of having a date with Wen Moxuan. Yao Yao clarified that the drinks were for a university Cultural Fair she was helping to organize. Disturbed by Yin Jiu's words, You Xi sought advice from his friend, Qi Chao.

After brainstorming several ineffective strategies, Qi Chao suggested the ultimate solution: a direct confession. As You Xi hesitated, school security guards caught them loitering on the sports field at night and escorted them to the security office. There, the guard requested their signatures. Seeing an opportunity for mischief, You Xi signed Yin Jiu and Tong Jin's names instead of his and Qi Chao's.

Disapproving of the prank, Yao Yao later returned to the security room to replace Yin Jiu's name with her own. However, the guard mistakenly replaced Tong Jin's name instead. Consequently, a school-wide bulletin publicly reprimanded Yin Jiu and Yuchi Yao Yao for "loitering on the sports field at night multiple times." The notice sparked widespread misunderstanding. Tong Jin angrily confronted Yin Jiu, accusing him of rekindling a past romance with Yao Yao, a claim he vehemently denied.

Simultaneously, Yao Yao's father, Yuchi Lin Sen, misinterpreted the notice as a sign of his daughter's blossoming love life, much to Yao Yao's mortification. Determined to confess, You Xi invited Yao Yao to the school music hall. He arrived to find the venue occupied and quickly relocated their meeting to a small classroom, which he hastily decorated with a borrowed lamp. You Xi serenaded Yao Yao with a song, moving her deeply.

Just as he was about to confess his feelings, his manager, Zhu Da Zhuang, called, reminding him of a crucial investors' banquet for "The Founding of the Three Kingdoms" that evening. Without explaining, You Xi handed Yao Yao a pre-prepared dress and insisted she accompany him. Yao Yao, feeling awkward in the elegant gown but refusing You Xi's demand to remove her personal necklace, arrived with him at the venue.

Zhu Da Zhuang initially tried to turn her away, but You Xi firmly stated she was his guest. They soon discovered the event was not a banquet but a lavish birthday party for Tong Jin, whose father was the main investor in You Xi's drama. You Xi wanted to leave immediately, but Zhu Da Zhuang persuaded him to stay to avoid offending the investor. The tension escalated when Tong Jin condescendingly treated Yao Yao like hired help.

You Xi left Yao Yao alone to greet important figures, including the investor Dan, who made it clear her investment was contingent on his participation. Seizing the opportunity, Yin Jiu approached Yao Yao, taunting her about her agoraphobia. He insinuated she was in a secret relationship with You Xi and pointed out that You Xi, despite being across the room, was watching them, a deliberate act to provoke him.

Observing this interaction, Tong Jin, during her birthday speech, deceptively thanked Yao Yao for her support. Aware of Yao Yao's fear of crowds, Tong Jin maliciously invited her onto the stage, leaving Yao Yao flustered and overwhelmed in the spotlight.

Episode 10 Recap

At Tong Jin's birthday party, a visibly overwhelmed Yuchi Yao Yao stood frozen on stage. Seizing the opportunity, Tong Jin publicly slandered her, accusing her of stealing her boyfriend, Yin Jiu. You Xi rushed to the stage, took the microphone, and defended Yuchi Yao Yao in front of the guests and reporters.

He revealed that Yuchi Yao Yao and Yin Jiu had been in a relationship two years prior, long before Tong Jin began dating Yin Jiu a few months ago, exposing Tong Jin as the one who had stolen a friend's boyfriend. You Xi passionately praised Yuchi Yao Yao's character and, in a dramatic turn, confessed his feelings for her.

They left the event hand-in-hand, leaving You Xi's furious manager, Zhu Da Zhuang, to handle the fallout, immediately ordering his assistants to suppress all news and photos from the event at any cost. Later, by a river, You Xi stayed with a distraught Yuchi Yao Yao. When he asked about her agoraphobia, she tearfully recounted blaming herself for her mother's death. Her mother was killed in a car accident while rushing to deliver a speech draft to her.

Overcome with guilt, Yuchi Yao Yao developed an intense fear of crowds. After comforting her, You Xi finished his confession from the party, suggesting she become his girlfriend so he could spoil her and cook for her daily, a proposition he playfully framed as a "great deal." Back at the company, Zhu Da Zhuang frantically dealt with the consequences of You Xi's public confession.

He informed You Xi that Tong Tian Ming, Tong Jin's father and a major investor in the drama "The Founding of the Three Kingdoms," was threatening to withdraw his investment unless You Xi was replaced. You Xi remained nonchalant, stating he was already tired of the role. Yuchi Yao Yao, overhearing, felt responsible and insisted on apologizing to Tong Jin, but You Xi firmly stopped her.

That evening, as she attempted to message Tong Jin, You Xi confiscated her phone, reminding her that he was the one who had spoken out and would take full responsibility. Meanwhile, an incensed Tong Jin messaged You Xi, threatening both him and Yuchi Yao Yao. Despite his exasperation, Zhu Da Zhuang negotiated tirelessly with the production crew.

He returned with good news: the production company had secured two new investors, Mr. Wang and Mr. Li, and had decided to terminate their contract with Tong Tian Ming instead of replacing You Xi. The new investors were eager for You Xi to star as Lu Bu and even offered to double their investment. Zhu Da Zhuang later discovered that these investors were former students of Yuchi Lin Sen, Yuchi Yao Yao's father.

In a call with his daughter, Yuchi Lin Sen confirmed his involvement. He explained that Yin Jiu had given him a distorted version of the breakup, claiming Yuchi Yao Yao and You Xi had gotten together first. Misunderstanding the situation but wanting his daughter to be happy, Yuchi Lin Sen decided to help You Xi. With his role secured, You Xi retrieved the textbooks he had discarded and resumed studying.

However, he soon took a break to make tangyuan for Yuchi Yao Yao. While feeding her, he accidentally burned her mouth and immediately leaned in to blow on it, a tender moment that highlighted their growing affection. The ten-day training program concluded, and You Xi deeply impressed Yuchi Lin Sen with a flawless recitation of "View of the Blue Sea," a poem by Cao Cao that the professor admired.

During a group photo session, Wen Moxuan approached Yuchi Yao Yao and put a hairpin in her hair, one he had previously offered but she had not accepted. Seeing this, You Xi immediately removed it, claiming the style and color did not suit her. Yuchi Lin Sen then asked You Xi to his office.

On the way, Yuchi Yao Yao warned You Xi not to touch anything, recounting a cautionary tale of a student who broke an ornament and was forced to withdraw. Inside, a nervous You Xi learned the ornament was a fake and the student had actually dropped out to inherit his family's fortune. Yuchi Lin Sen admitted he let the rumor spread to keep students well-behaved.

He then sternly told You Xi that if he couldn't guarantee Yuchi Yao Yao's happiness, he should leave her. He later softened, sharing amusing childhood anecdotes about his daughter. Meanwhile, Zhu Da Zhuang received a call about photos from the birthday party being sold at a high price. He authorized the payment, determined to prevent their release. Unbeknownst to him, Shen Yiling, Song Qie Ge's friend, had already acquired the photos.

She and Song Qie Ge planned to bide their time, like a leopard stalking its prey, before releasing them to cause You Xi's downfall. After returning home from training, You Xi expressed his relief at being done with classes. However, Yuchi Yao Yao reminded him that the selection for Director Wei Ran's new drama, "Chancellor Zhong," was only five days away, meaning his intense study regimen was far from over.

Episode 11 Recap

As the selection for a new drama was just days away, You Xi and Yao Yao intensified their preparations. With only two days left, Yao Yao tutored You Xi on the history of Guan Zhong and Bao Shu Ya. She recounted that when they were business partners, Bao Shu Ya, aware of Guan Zhong's poverty, always ensured Guan Zhong received a larger share of the profits. Later, when they fought in battles, Guan Zhong frequently retreated, drawing mockery from others.

However, Bao Shu Ya defended him, explaining that Guan Zhong was a filial son with an elderly mother to support. After Prince Jiu failed in his bid for the throne and Guan Zhong was imprisoned, Bao Shu Ya still believed Guan Zhong would prioritize significant achievements over minor personal shame. Consequently, he recommended Guan Zhong to Duke Huan of Qi, who then appointed him to a crucial position.

Guan Zhong himself famously declared, "My parents gave me life, but Bao Shu is the one who understands me," highlighting their extraordinary bond. You Xi, however, remained unconvinced, arguing that Guan Zhong, who appeared greedy, timid, and disloyal, was undeserving of such profound friendship.

Yao Yao countered by emphasizing the importance of understanding a person's circumstances and perspective, believing that Bao Shu Ya’s deep respect and tolerance for Guan Zhong stemmed not only from his talent but also from other inherent qualities. Meanwhile, Yin Jiu reviewed Song Qie Ge's character analysis for the new drama, noting a minor flaw. Song Qie Ge immediately tore up the document, declaring that "imperfect things shouldn't exist" and that he would not allow any "accidents" with this role.

Yin Jiu reassured him that defeating You Xi would be simple, promising a revised analysis the following day. Pandora arrived at You Xi's apartment to use the washroom before going to see her idol, Qi Chao. You Xi pointed out a large blemish on her face, teasing that Qi Chao wouldn't like it. Distraught, Pandora began to cry, lamenting her "imperfect" appearance.

Yao Yao comforted her, highlighting that her inner virtues—kindness, intelligence, and sincerity—were her true charm and that Qi Chao would surely recognize these qualities. She explained that genuine affection embraces a person's entire self, strengths and weaknesses included. Seemingly enlightened, Pandora happily departed. Later, You Xi asked Yao Yao about her preference in men, and she replied that she admired those who were "in sync" with her, capable of understanding her thoughts without words.

Just then, Yao Yao discovered that Song Qie Ge had tagged You Xi on Weibo, announcing their upcoming dramas would air concurrently. Determined to assert dominance, Yao Yao decided to post on Weibo, announcing the start of filming for "The Founding of the Three Kingdoms" with You Xi's most striking photo and a powerful caption to "suppress Song Qie Ge." You Xi acknowledged that her swift response perfectly exemplified being "in sync."

The next day, with only one day left, Yao Yao took You Xi to an amusement park for a day of fun instead of studying, encouraging him for his upcoming audition. On the day of the selection, Song Qie Ge arrogantly told You Xi he would "make it easy" for him, but You Xi dismissed him. During his audition, the director questioned You Xi about Guan Zhong.

Drawing on Yao Yao's lessons, You Xi explained that while Guan Zhong’s actions might seem treacherous from a traditional loyalty standpoint, he was a farsighted reformer whose actions brought peace, embodying the Confucian principle of benevolence. When asked if he would have valued Guan Zhong, You Xi admitted he lacked Duke Huan of Qi's magnanimity but admired his courage in trusting someone who had once tried to kill him.

You Xi asserted that Bao Shu Ya's unwavering support stemmed from his ability to discern Guan Zhong's hidden talents and a deep friendship built on mutual admiration and unconditional trust. Profoundly impressed, Director Wei declared his confidence that You Xi would portray a "realistic Chancellor Zhong." Following the selection, You Xi excitedly informed Yao Yao that he had secured the lead role in "Chancellor Zhong."

Zhu Da Zhuang jubilantly announced the news to the company staff, declaring that this role marked You Xi's "successful transformation" and would ensure his popularity for years to come. Later, Yao Yao told You Xi that her task was complete and she would be moving out. You Xi protested, insisting she was his assistant and could not leave.

Yao Yao clarified that she had to continue her studies and could no longer work for him, though he could visit her at school. The next day, You Xi watched in distress as Yao Yao packed her belongings. Meanwhile, Song Qie Ge's team discovered that the largest investor in "Chancellor Zhong" was Tong Tian Ming, chairman of Huateng Group.

Song Qie Ge met with Tong Tian Ming, attempting to manipulate him into securing the lead role by referencing Tong's past withdrawal of investment from "The Founding of the Three Kingdoms," implying it was due to You Xi. Tong Tian Ming corrected him, stating the withdrawal was for internal business reasons and, as a businessman, he wouldn't turn down a profitable venture, effectively rejecting Song Qie Ge's request.

Missing Yao Yao, You Xi secretly visited her at Jiangzhou University but was quickly mobbed by fans. Yao Yao pulled him to safety in her father's office. When Professor Yuchi unexpectedly entered, he saw them and hastily excused himself. You Xi expressed his frustration that his company was hiring a new assistant, but Yao Yao gently reminded him that her dream was to become a teacher, leaving no time to be his assistant.

Dejected, You Xi confided in Qi Chao, who advised that using a "third party" might be more effective in persuading Yao Yao. Inspired, You Xi enlisted Pandora for the task. After being coached, Pandora approached Yao Yao with an exaggerated, tearful performance about her loneliness without her.

However, her act was cut short when she complained of a burning sensation, and Yao Yao discovered a chili flake in her eye from the spicy tteokbokki she had eaten earlier, leaving You Xi exasperated and at a loss.

Episode 12 Recap

After Pan Duo's attempt to persuade Yao Yao to return failed, You Xi met with her and his uncle, Qi Chao, to devise a new plan. Frustrated, You Xi blamed Pan Duo for her poor performance in the scheme. Qi Chao suggested that with someone like Yao Yao, the best strategy is proximity leading to affection over time. When You Xi asked how to achieve this proximity, Qi Chao pointed out that he needed an assistant.

Since Pan Duo had already been rejected for the role, Qi Chao suggested that Professor Yuchi might be able to help them. You Xi sought advice from Professor Yuchi, who explained that Yao Yao was resolute in her decisions and no one, not even he, could sway her.

Professor Yuchi then shifted the conversation to You Xi's upcoming historical drama, "The Founding of the Three Kingdoms", and stressed that You Xi must perform exceptionally well, as Yao Yao would be the first to disapprove of any poor acting. This remark immediately sparked an idea in You Xi's mind, and he expressed his gratitude to Professor Yuchi for the insight before leaving cheerfully.

You Xi posted a targeted message on his social media, visible only to Yao Yao, provocatively describing Lv Bu as a character solely consumed by romantic affairs and skilled at flirting. As You Xi anticipated, Yao Yao promptly called him, expressing her dismay. She passionately corrected his interpretation, explaining that Lv Bu was a valiant and invincible hero, citing the "Biography of Cao Man" which states, "Lv Bu is outstanding among men, just like Chi Tu is outstanding among horses."

Feigning disinterest, You Xi insisted he would portray the character as he pleased, intending to transform the historical drama into an idol drama. Recalling You Xi's previous lack of academic rigor, Yao Yao grew concerned that his incorrect approach to acting would disrupt her own studies. The following day, Yao Yao and Pan Duo visited You Xi, with Yao Yao expressing her concern that he might "ruin the classic" portrayal of Lv Bu.

She declared her intention to personally supervise his acting. While You Xi was having his costume photos taken for "The Founding of the Three Kingdoms", Yao Yao found his initial appearance too immature and his handling of Lv Bu's halberd incorrect. After she offered suggestions, You Xi's portrayal significantly improved. Pan Duo subtly pointed out to Yao Yao that You Xi struggled to capture the character's essence without her guidance.

Although Yao Yao voiced reservations about a full-time assistant role due to her academic schedule, Pan Duo reassured her that she would only need to tutor him part-time. Pan Duo further enticed Yao Yao by noting that if she became his assistant, they could see each other more often, and Yao Yao could even offer Pan Duo guidance. Convinced, Yao Yao agreed.

During the casting for "The Founding of the Three Kingdoms", Zheng Jia'er secured the role of Diao Chan, a part Pan Duo had ardently desired. Disappointed, Pan Duo felt You Xi had not supported her. However, You Xi explained that Diao Chan was a difficult role that often attracts criticism, and Zheng Jia'er’s poor acting would likely make her a target for public backlash.

He then highlighted the role of Sun Shang Xiang, who had a more appealing character arc across both parts of the drama. Yao Yao agreed, adding that Sun Shang Xiang was a well-developed character, whereas Diao Chan was merely "eye candy" with limited acting scope. Convinced by their reasoning, Pan Duo agreed to play Sun Shang Xiang.

Zhu Da Zhuang informed You Xi that Mr. Zhang's 50th birthday dinner, a major event for SG Entertainment, was scheduled for 7 PM the following evening. He stressed that You Xi, as one of the company's leading stars, was among the select few invited and must not be absent or late. Confident in his punctuality, You Xi requested to be woken up at 2 PM the next day for styling.

The next day, You Xi awoke to find it was already 5 PM. Annoyed, he called Yao Yao, questioning why she hadn't woken him as requested. Yao Yao replied that she was feeling unwell. Concerned, You Xi immediately went to her apartment and discovered she had a fever due to her menstrual period. Despite his initial confusion about the kitchen's location, he cooked ginger soup for her.

He insisted she drink it all, only departing for Mr. Zhang's dinner after she finished the entire bowl. At the birthday banquet, You Xi was visibly restless and eager to leave, showing little interest in Mr. Zhang's speech praising the company's success. Noticing You Xi's impatience, Mr. Zhang challenged him to toast every guest present before he could leave. You Xi accepted, quickly becoming heavily intoxicated and stumbling while repeatedly calling out Yao Yao’s nickname.

Pan Duo urgently called Yao Yao, who, despite still feeling unwell, immediately came to his rescue. Amidst his intoxication, You Xi drunkenly asked Yao Yao to be his girlfriend. Pan Duo encouraged Yao Yao to agree, assuring her that he would likely forget everything by morning. Yao Yao reluctantly agreed. You Xi then pulled her into a kiss, an act witnessed by Mr. Zhang, Zheng Jia'er, and Zhu Da Zhuang as they were leaving. Embarrassed, Yao Yao fled.

Later, when Zhu Da Zhuang questioned Pan Duo about the identity of the person who kissed You Xi, Pan Duo feigned ignorance. The next morning, You Xi awoke with a hazy memory but vividly recalled Yao Yao agreeing to be his girlfriend. Overjoyed, he immediately messaged her. However, his excitement turned to disappointment when Yao Yao replied, clarifying that she had only agreed to prevent him from causing more drunken mischief.

Later, Qi Chao advised You Xi that Yao Yao was a person who took things slowly and that he needed to be patient with her. At the opening ceremony for "The Founding of the Three Kingdoms", a crucial censer was found to be missing. Simultaneously, the opening ceremony for another historical drama, "Falling Apart", was also commencing nearby, and a conflict arose when both crews discovered they were vying for the same censer—the last one available.

Just as tensions escalated, Pan Duo appeared with a familiar-looking censer. She explained that she had taken it from You Xi’s balcony, intending to give it to her "idol," You Xi. With a replacement available, the other crew dismissively took the studio's censer, resolving the dispute.

Episode 13 Recap

Struggling with his lines on set, You Xi apologized to the director, claiming he wasn't feeling well. Yao Yao, observing his difficulty, asked the director for more time and offered to run lines with You Xi to help him regain his focus. While they were practicing, Song Qie Ge and Shen Yiling arrived to provoke him. Song Qie Ge mocked You Xi for his lack of preparation, calling him unprofessional.

You Xi, however, quickly gained the upper hand in the verbal exchange. He dismissed Shen Yiling's past grievances, stating she wasn't special enough to be remembered among the many people he had rejected, and advised her that winning a war of words was meaningless. Following the confrontation, You Xi swiftly found his rhythm and completed his scenes. Later that evening, at home, Yao Yao continued to help You Xi study historical facts for his role.

The next day on set, You Xi continued his diligent study during breaks. Pan Duo confided in Yao Yao that You Xi's sudden zeal was likely driven by his fear of Yao Yao leaving him again. When it was Pan Duo's turn to film a monologue as Sun Shang Xiang, her lifelong poor physical coordination made the scene challenging, resulting in numerous retakes.

As Yao Yao comforted a dejected Pan Duo, Zheng Jia'er approached, mocking Pan Duo's struggles by claiming she had made twenty mistakes, though Pan Duo corrected her that it was only three or four. After belittling Pan Duo, Zheng Jia'er proudly announced she had wrapped for the day and departed, leaving Pan Duo fuming. Determined to help, Yao Yao personally demonstrated proper ancient etiquette and posture to Pan Duo. With Yao Yao's guidance, Pan Duo smoothly completed her scene.

Afterward, Pan Duo enthusiastically told You Xi that Yao Yao had also suggested to the director that Zheng Jia'er's posture was historically inaccurate, which led the director to call Zheng Jia'er back to reshoot all her scenes. Meanwhile, with the production looking for an extra, You Xi and Pan Duo encouraged Yao Yao to step in. Though hesitant, she changed into a period costume, and You Xi was visibly captivated by her beauty.

Yao Yao's scene was a "hero saves a beauty" segment opposite Zhao Yi, a handsome and talented new actor. As You Xi watched the intimate interactions between Zhao Yi and Yao Yao during filming, he grew jealous, lamenting the continuous parade of rivals. Later, when Zhao Yi was chatting with Yao Yao, You Xi abruptly pulled her away, leaving Zhao Yi bewildered.

You Xi then insisted that Zhu Da Zhuang arrange a fight scene between himself, as Lv Bu, and Zhao Yi, as Zhao Yun. Constrained by historical accuracy, as the two characters never met, the director and writer decided to film the fight as a special "behind-the-scenes" segment for marketing.

During the filming of the fight, Zhao Yi appeared effortless, while You Xi, determined to save face, overexerted himself and nearly fell, only to be caught by Zhao Yi, leaving You Xi feeling embarrassed. During a break, a fan asked Zhao Yi for a photo, and Yao Yao offered to take it. A jealous You Xi interjected himself into the picture. Afterward, he childishly edited the photo, enhancing his own appearance while deliberately distorting Zhao Yi's.

Observing You Xi's jealousy, Pan Duo decided to try and make Qi Chao jealous. She took a seemingly intimate photo with another actor and posted it on Weibo. The plan backfired when the photo became a headline, sparking rumors of a secret romance. Pan Duo was filled with regret, having only wanted Qi Chao's attention. Qi Chao then arrived at the set for a visit.

You Xi immediately sought his advice, and Qi Chao suggested making Yao Yao jealous to help her realize her feelings for him. At that moment, Zhu Da Zhuang approached You Xi to propose publishing a memoir about his career. Preoccupied, You Xi vaguely agreed, and Zhu Da Zhuang set a deadline of ten thousand words per week. Following Qi Chao's advice, You Xi asked the director to consolidate all of Lv Bu's existing kissing scenes to be filmed at once.

The director, assured that no new scenes were being added, agreed. As Yao Yao watched You Xi perform numerous kissing scenes with the actress playing Diao Chan, she grew visibly uncomfortable and left the set in a huff. Later that night, she lay in bed, replaying the scenes in her mind with clear displeasure.

Episode 14 Recap

Struggling to find the right emotion for a scene, You Xi employs a tactic of "playing hard to get." He ignores Yao Yao's complaints about being an extra and announces his intention to rehearse with Zheng Jia'er, correctly guessing this will prompt Yao Yao to volunteer instead. They begin rehearsing a romantic scene between Lv Bu and Diao Chan. Just as the emotional intensity peaks, You Xi's relative, Pan Duo, unexpectedly bursts into the room. Startled, Yao Yao hides.

Although Pan Duo doesn't get a clear look, she catches a glimpse of braids, mistakenly believing You Xi is secretly involved with a braided extra. Later, at a meal, Pan Duo confronts You Xi about a clandestine relationship with a braided woman. Seeing You Xi hesitate, Yao Yao steps forward and admits it was her. Upon this revelation, Pan Duo’s demeanor shifts from suspicion to delight.

Meanwhile, Zhu Da Zhuang calls to inquire about the memoir You Xi promised to write. You Xi boasts of having written tens of thousands of words, but Zhu Da Zhuang announces he will check the progress the next day. Facing a blank screen, You Xi, leveraging his hidden talent as a hacker, intentionally crashes his computer to feign the loss of his work. However, Zhu Da Zhuang, aware of You Xi's skills, arrives prepared.

He reveals that he had preemptively upgraded the computer to automatically upload all documents to the cloud. With no escape, You Xi admits he has written nothing. Instead of the nude run across a bridge he jokingly feared, he is forced to spend an exhausting afternoon playing with elementary school children.

In a separate development, Song Qie Ge is confident his new drama, "Falling Apart", will beat You Xi's "The Founding of the Three Kingdoms", largely because superstar Qi Chao is slated to sing its theme song. To Song Qie Ge's shock, Qi Chao abruptly cancels their collaboration and joins You Xi's project instead. You Xi calls Qi Chao to offer support during the recording, but Qi Chao declines and explicitly forbids him from telling Pan Duo.

However, Pan Duo, who happens to be on another call with You Xi at the same time, overhears everything. The next day, Pan Duo shows up at Qi Chao's studio with takeout. During the recording, her enthusiastic attempts to sing along from outside the booth disrupt Qi Chao's performance. Despite his initial annoyance, Qi Chao’s feelings for Pan Duo begin to shift as he observes her unwavering dedication.

That night, Yao Yao reminds You Xi that despite his current success, he must remain vigilant, as calm waters can hide dangerous undercurrents. You Xi dismisses her concerns, declaring he is fearless. The next day, during filming, the director receives an urgent notice to halt production because the script is suspected of distorting historical facts. Song Qie Ge and Shen Yiling appear, gloating over You Xi's predicament and mocking him, with Song Qie Ge comparing him to a "drowning dog."

Back at the company, while You Xi, Zhu Da Zhuang, and Yao Yao discuss the crisis, Qi Chao calls with more bad news: his new song is now embroiled in a plagiarism scandal, with a niche singer claiming Qi Chao stole their work. You Xi and Yao Yao rush to Qi Chao's house, where they find Pan Duo locked out. Qi Chao reluctantly lets all three in but insists he can handle the situation himself and asks them to leave.

Yao Yao persuades a reluctant You Xi to go, suggesting Qi Chao has a plan. As they depart, Pan Duo pretends to leave with them but secretly slips back into Qi Chao's house while he is distracted by a phone call. Upon returning home, You Xi and Yao Yao begin meticulously reviewing the script for any parts that could be construed as historical distortion. Meanwhile, Pan Duo is discovered hiding in Qi Chao's house. At the same time, Qi Chao is on the phone, actively working to resolve the plagiarism issue by instructing someone to track down the accuser and retrieve their original manuscript.

Episode 15 Recap

Following the events of the previous night, Pan Duo is discovered hiding in Qi Chao's home. She pleads with him not to kick her out, fabricating a story that her uncle, Zhu Da Zhuang, gets drunk and violent. Qi Chao reluctantly allows her to stay one night in the guest room, on the condition that she remains quiet. Pan Duo happily agrees, promising to leave the next day.

You Xi attends a press conference for the brand Final, celebrating his third year as their spokesperson in China. When a reporter confronts him about his new drama, "The Founding of the Three Kingdoms," being halted due to allegations of historical inaccuracy, You Xi calmly requests time for his team to uncover the truth and asks the media to focus on the event.

He describes the brand's new perfume as reminiscent of "a forest after rainfall," with notes of "vanilla mixed with an earthy scent" and a mysterious quality. After the conference, Yuchi Yao Yao spots two anti-fans defacing a poster of You Xi. She immediately confronts them, launching into a passionate defense of his character and appearance.

She declares that calling You Xi ugly is "one of the biggest jokes in the world," praising his "high nose bridge" and "big eyes that sparkle like the stars." She extols his virtues, describing him as a "perfect idol" who is gentle with fans, considerate of staff, and devoted to his work. You Xi, having just left the venue, overhears her entire speech from a distance and is visibly moved.

Shortly after, a fellow supporter invites Yao Yao to join You Xi's official fan group. Deeply touched by her loyalty, You Xi sends her a text message asking her to be his girlfriend, and she immediately accepts. You Xi drives to Yao Yao's home at once. They meet downstairs, sharing a passionate embrace and kiss, officially beginning their relationship. Meanwhile, Pan Duo devises excuses to extend her stay at Qi Chao's.

After pretending her uncles are unavailable to pick her up, she expresses fear of taking a taxi alone. When Qi Chao offers to drive her, she cleverly points out that he ate the beer-braised duck she ordered, making it illegal for him to drive. When he threatens to call the police to escort her, she again feigns fear of her uncle's drunken anger.

Later, she excitedly reports to Zhu Da Zhuang that she has made "major progress" with Qi Chao, detailing how he ate her food, drank her tea, and used a towel she handed him, though her uncle dismisses these as trivial. Eager to share his romantic news, You Xi first tries to call his agent, Zhu Da Zhuang, who is busy and hangs up.

He then calls his parents, but they comically pass the phone back and forth, refusing to talk to him. Frustrated, You Xi decides to announce his relationship on Weibo, but Yao Yao stops him, reminding him that his contract forbids publicizing relationships. You Xi then decides to share his joy with her father, Yuchi Lin Sen.

However, upon arriving at Yuchi Lin Sen's office, You Xi finds himself completely excluded as Yao Yao and her father become engrossed in a deep academic discussion about historical war strategies, particularly the Battle of Hefei. Pan Duo accompanies Qi Chao to a coffee shop to negotiate with "Dynasty Man," the musician accusing him of plagiarism. Dynasty Man remains adamant, accusing Qi Chao of trying to buy his silence.

When Qi Chao claims he is simply changing his musical style, Dynasty Man points out that the song uses a rare ethnic folk tune from a niche Finnish composer named Lumijan, implying it was stolen. Qi Chao first bluffs that he studied under this composer in Finland, but when pressed, he admits he invented the story.

Qi Chao warns Dynasty Man that the truth will be revealed and he won't be let off easily, which Dynasty Man interprets as a threat. Later, Zhu Da Zhuang informs You Xi and Yao Yao that the script for his drama was leaked after the scriptwriter, struggling with writer's block, got drunk and someone copied the files. The culprit remains unknown.

Distracted, You Xi suddenly kisses Yao Yao and announces their relationship to a stunned Zhu Da Zhuang, who laments that the constant drama is a shock to his system. As Qi Chao and Pan Duo head home, they discover that Dynasty Man has posted a video online, falsely accusing Qi Chao of threatening him and painting himself as a victim of corporate bullying. This further damages Qi Chao's reputation.

Despite Zhu Da Zhuang's advice to lay low, You Xi and Yao Yao decide to support Qi Chao publicly. Yao Yao argues that as best friends, abandoning Qi Chao for self-preservation would be dishonorable. She drafts a supportive Weibo post, which You Xi immediately publishes. Pan Duo pleads with Zhu Da Zhuang to investigate Qi Chao's case. Overwhelmed by You Xi's problems, he initially refuses, telling Pan Duo her pursuit of Qi Chao is a childish fantasy.

However, he reluctantly agrees to help after she threatens to tell her mother about him enjoying her pampering. Zhu Da Zhuang soon discovers that Qi Chao's arranger received a large sum of money two weeks prior. Pan Duo correctly suspects Shen Yiling and confronts her. Shen Yiling coolly admits to the payment but claims it was for a song copyright.

Pan Duo’s attempt to secretly record the confession fails when Shen Yiling points out she never pressed the record button, and she is escorted out by security. Embarrassed, Pan Duo runs into Qi Chao outside. She shows him a video on her phone of him composing and singing the song in question. She claims she happened to record it while looking for the restroom during a previous visit, proving he wrote the music long before Dynasty Man.

This video becomes the crucial evidence that clears Qi Chao's name. You Xi's fans praise him for his loyalty, with some humorously speculating that he and Qi Chao are "true love." Qi Chao drives Pan Duo home. She stalls getting out of the car by pretending her seatbelt is stuck. She then asks if she can come over to record him again the next time he composes, "just in case."

Playfully, she lists the things she'll bring, including a full video setup, pajamas, and her stuffed bunny. Amused, Qi Chao agrees. Overjoyed, Pan Duo happily skips into her home. Watching from his car nearby, You Xi tells Yao Yao that he is simply "creating an opportunity" for the two of them.

Episode 16 Recap

After Yao Yao spends the day compiling historical data to refute accusations of distortion in You Xi's new drama, "The Founding of the Three Kingdoms," he rewards her with a private outdoor movie screening in his courtyard. They share a sweet moment, embracing on a rocking chair where they eventually fall asleep in each other's arms.

Their morning is interrupted by a phone call from Zhu Da Zhuang, who presses Yao Yao to immediately send the completed statement, which she does. Meanwhile, Song Qie Ge is at his own drama's wrap party when he learns of You Xi's detailed rebuttal. Unfazed, he instructs his assistant to deploy paid posters on Weibo to discredit You Xi, arguing he is merely using sophistry and relying on the principle that a lie told often enough becomes the truth.

Initially, the sheer volume of negative comments puts You Xi at a disadvantage. However, public opinion shifts dramatically when numerous renowned historians, led by Yao Yao's father, Professor Yuchi Lin Sen, publicly endorse You Xi's drama for its historical accuracy. The topic trends on Weibo, leaving Song Qie Ge cornered. He decides to retaliate with his last resort: a compromising photo of You Xi and Yao Yao.

The rivalry between the two actors is not new; in a prior conflict over a supporting role, You Xi had given their company's Mr. Zhang an ultimatum—if Song Qie Ge stayed, he would leave. The next day at the library, Yao Yao is called outside, expecting You Xi but finding Yin Jiu with a bouquet of tulips, asking to reconcile.

She firmly rejects him, noting the tulips are Tong Jin's favorite and the slap mark on his face suggests he was just rejected by her. After Yao Yao reveals her relationship with You Xi and tells Yin Jiu to see a psychiatrist, Yin Jiu calls Tong Jin and falsely claims Yao Yao tried to get back together with him.

You Xi then appears, admitting he'd been watching since Yao Yao called Yin Jiu "sick" and finding the confrontation amusing before taking her home ahead of a storm. Soon after, Song Qie Ge leaks the intimate photo of You Xi and Yao Yao, causing chaos at You Xi's agency. Defiantly, You Xi prepares a Weibo post to confirm their relationship and ask for blessings.

However, company executives, including Mr. Zhang, demand he issue a statement denying the relationship and cutting ties with Yao Yao. You Xi refuses, giving them an ultimatum: he will either confirm the relationship or say nothing at all. The news spreads quickly, and Yao Yao is hounded by classmates and receives harassing phone calls. Both she and You Xi hide the severity of the backlash from each other to avoid causing worry.

You Xi tells her the impact is "negligible," while she dismisses the abusive calls as spam. In reality, Zhu Da Zhuang informs You Xi that his popularity has plummeted, endorsements have been pulled, and multiple projects, including "The Founding of the Three Kingdoms," have been put on hold. At school, Yao Yao is cornered by a group of You Xi's aggressive fans.

Pan Duo arrives just in time, having seen a fan's livestream about the plan, and disperses the crowd by threatening to report them. When Yao Yao asks about You Xi, Pan Duo honors her promise to him and lies, claiming his popularity is soaring. Yao Yao, in turn, asks Pan Duo not to tell You Xi about the fan incident, leaving Pan Duo exasperated by their mutual secret-keeping.

Furious about the online slander against Yao Yao, You Xi wants to post a rebuttal, but Qi Chao advises him that it would only provoke the fans further. Instead, You Xi creates a decoy account to subtly defend her. At the same time, Tong Jin hires people to intensify the smear campaign, spreading rumors that Yao Yao fabricated her credentials and is a homewrecker.

Discovering this organized attack, You Xi orders Zhu Da Zhuang to use all available resources to combat it. Zhu Da Zhuang protests, arguing they should focus on You Xi's career crisis, but relents when You Xi threatens to release his own scandals and ruin his career if Yao Yao is not protected.

Back home, You Xi tries to distract Yao Yao from the online negativity, playfully telling her not to go online to avoid seeing their "kissing photos" and offering to cook for her. His efforts are cut short by an urgent call from Zhu Da Zhuang, revealing that Mr. Zhang is furious and demands You Xi come to the company immediately. You Xi tells Yao Yao he has a minor work emergency, joking it's an offer for a "destination wedding photography" endorsement, and promises to return soon.

Episode 17 Recap

While Yuchi Yao Yao was at home cooking, unaware of the escalating situation, her alleged relationship with You Xi had thrown SG Entertainment into turmoil. The CEO, Mr. Zhang, confronted manager Zhu Da Zhuang, accusing him of misusing company resources for a mere assistant's public relations. You Xi immediately stepped in, taking full responsibility and stating it was his instruction.

Mr. Zhang, frustrated with You Xi's defiance, sarcastically retorted that they should use all company resources to help her, before giving his real ultimatum: You Xi must publicly deny the relationship and fire her. You Xi firmly refused, leading Mr. Zhang to threaten the termination of his contract. Meanwhile, office staff gossiped about You Xi's recklessness, wondering why he would risk his already plummeting popularity and face lawsuits from advertisers over a relationship, though some admired his courage.

Yuchi Yao Yao arrived at the company with a meal for You Xi, only to overhear staff discussing the news that Mr. Zhang intended to terminate You Xi's contract. Deeply shocked, she accidentally spilled the food. When Qi Chao found her, she pleaded with him not to tell You Xi she had visited. Stricken with guilt that she was ruining his career, she left the company crestfallen.

That evening, You Xi returned home to find Yuchi Yao Yao waiting for him. Admitting she wanted to see him one last time before she left, she tearfully recounted their history, concluding that her presence had only ever brought him trouble. As she expressed her fear of destroying his future, a weary You Xi fell asleep in her arms. Watching his peaceful face, Yuchi Yao Yao's resolve to leave him solidified.

You Xi awoke alone on the sofa to a call from Zhu Da Zhuang, who praised him for finally "coming to his senses." Confused, You Xi checked his phone and was stunned to find a Weibo statement posted from his account, denying his relationship with Yuchi Yao Yao and announcing her resignation. He frantically tried to call her, but her phone was off. Rushing to her empty room and calling her nickname, "Mu Mu," he found she was gone.

He stormed into the office and confronted Zhu Da Zhuang, suspecting him of driving her away. Zhu Da Zhuang denied it and suggested she might have left a letter, which You Xi then found. Undeterred by her desire not to be found, You Xi sought out her father, Professor Yuchi, but learned he had already left for an ancient town to conduct research.

Meanwhile, Yuchi Yao Yao had fled to the same ancient town to join her father, having made him promise not to reveal her whereabouts. Her isolation was cemented when her phone accidentally fell into a deep stream. Back home, a sleepless You Xi was haunted by her absence, looking at her empty room and rereading an emotional poem she had written, which only deepened his despair.

When Zhu Da Zhuang called to propose a press conference for the following Tuesday to manage the crisis, he readily agreed, surprising the manager who immediately instructed Qi Chao to arrange it with the media. In the ancient town, Yuchi Yao Yao struggled to focus, her thoughts constantly drifting to You Xi. One night, feeling cold, she mistakenly turned on the air conditioning instead of the heater and woke up sick.

At the same time, You Xi, Qi Chao, and Pan Duo were at home trying to defend Yuchi Yao Yao's reputation online. Pan Duo grew suspicious when she overheard You Xi on a call discussing themes for the press conference like "Chopping the Past." Believing he intended to publicly abandon Yuchi Yao Yao, she angrily called him a "scumbag's accomplice" and stormed out with Qi Chao. Late that night, You Xi single-handedly fought a war online against anti-fans.

He refuted claims that Yuchi Yao Yao had cheated or used connections to get into her university, asserting her talent was so great the university should have been begging her to enroll. He then posted one of her poems, which went viral and turned public opinion in her favor as the truth about her innocence emerged. In the ancient town, Professor Yuchi gave his daughter a new phone.

While watching one of You Xi's dramas on TV, Yuchi Yao Yao was overwhelmed with emotion and picked up the new phone to call him, but lost her nerve at the last second. Before the press conference, You Xi instructed Zhu Da Zhuang to invite as many media outlets as possible, wanting the entire nation to witness it.

Hearing this, a confident Song Qie Ge prepared to release a trove of intimate photos of the couple during the live event, certain it would end You Xi's career by branding him a liar. As Yuchi Yao Yao watched the broadcast, You Xi began by addressing the single photo, explaining it was an impulsive act to help her and was not sufficient proof of a relationship.

Just as Song Qie Ge ordered his team to release their photos, You Xi stunned everyone by projecting numerous, clear couple photos of himself and Yuchi Yao Yao onto the screen behind him, declaring, "Evidence should at least look like this." The shocking confession sent the media into a frenzy, as the top celebrity had just turned a clarification meeting into a public declaration of love.

Episode 18 Recap

At a press conference, You Xi publicly declared his genuine feelings for Yuchi Yao Yao, stating that he had secretly admired her for a long time. He recounted that the feeling may have started when she first stood up for him or when he noticed how meticulously she organized his scripts, a feeling he had never experienced despite his acting career. He confirmed he was the one who pursued her, dismissing rumors that she had ulterior motives.

You Xi asserted that while he was accustomed to criticism, he could not tolerate any harm coming to Yuchi Yao Yao, whom he described as kind and innocent. He then challenged the person who leaked the photo, stating that he was taking full responsibility for announcing their relationship.

Acknowledging the distress caused to his fans, You Xi sincerely apologized and offered a ten-fold refund for any merchandise to those who wished to withdraw their support, directing them to a contact number on screen. Infuriated by You Xi's unilateral actions, Mr. Zhang berated Zhu Da Zhuang for his mismanagement and convened an emergency PR meeting, vowing no one would rest until a solution was found.

He threatened Zhu Da Zhuang, warning that if You Xi spoke another word to the press, he would be severely punished. Speechless, Zhu Da Zhuang admitted that You Xi had already left and his whereabouts were unknown. Meanwhile, a deeply moved Yuchi Yao Yao, having watched You Xi's heartfelt confession on a live broadcast, tried to rush to him despite not being fully recovered, only to collapse outside her door.

She later awoke in bed to find You Xi by her side. Her father, Yuchi Lin Sen, later revealed that he had told You Xi where to find her, entrusting her to his care. When a villager asked if You Xi was his future son-in-law, Yuchi Lin Sen deflected, saying things were not yet official. Once composed, Yuchi Yao Yao urged You Xi to contact his boss and explain, fearing for his career.

You Xi embraced her, assuring her he had already handled everything and confidently remarked that he was no stranger to difficulties and could handle the "hardships" of rural life. Later, You Xi accompanied Yuchi Yao Yao on an interview trip to an ancient town. An elderly woman recounted a legend about a one-eyed, three-tailed creature called a "Huan" that mesmerized and consumed people, showing them what she claimed was its tooth.

Citing "The Classic of Mountains and Seas," You Xi and Yuchi Yao Yao corrected her, noting the creature did not eat people and that the "tooth" resembled a dog's. During the interview, Yuchi Yao Yao noticed her necklace was broken. As You Xi tried to help her with it, he was stung by a bee, causing him to drop the necklace and fall.

A doctor later sarcastically remarked that his sting was so minor it would have healed on its own had he arrived any later. Zhu Da Zhuang frantically called You Xi, telling him of the chaos in Jiangzhou. You Xi pretended it was a wrong number and hung up, lying to Yuchi Yao Yao that Zhu Da Zhuang was on vacation in Mauritius. Unbeknownst to them, Zhu Da Zhuang was lamenting You Xi's nonchalance as his fan count plummeted.

At SG Entertainment, Song Qie Ge's assistant reported that endorsements were being revoked and You Xi was being replaced in multiple projects. Smirking, Song Qie Ge declared that You Xi would eventually have to return and beg for his help. Qi Chao and Pan Duo arrived at the ancient town to visit. That evening, everyone joined a bonfire party.

Yuchi Lin Sen spoke privately with You Xi, asking him to leave Yuchi Yao Yao if he could not ensure her happiness. You Xi sincerely pledged to protect her and expressed his hope to be the one to bring her lasting happiness, earning Yuchi Lin Sen's approval. To avoid being discovered, Qi Chao and Pan Duo left that same night. Seeking to share a room with Yuchi Yao Yao, You Xi booked all remaining rooms at the inn.

However, Yuchi Yao Yao felt it was inappropriate for an unmarried couple to share a room and offered him the floor. Their discussion was interrupted by Yuchi Lin Sen, who stated that since they were a couple, there was no need for shyness. He then foiled You Xi's plan by offering to share his own room with him, assuring him he didn't snore. As Yuchi Yao Yao prepared for bed, she realized her late mother's precious necklace was missing.

She ventured out in the dark to find it, but stumbled and twisted her ankle. Just then, You Xi appeared, explaining he couldn't sleep because of Yuchi Lin Sen's incessant sleep-talking. He helped her up and found the necklace. He gently chided her for going out alone, telling her to call him if she was ever in trouble. He playfully teased her, calling her "Little Blockhead" and joking about her weight before carrying her back.

In her room, You Xi applied medicine to Yuchi Yao Yao's foot. As he prepared to leave, a shy Yuchi Yao Yao suggested that if her father's sleep-talking was too disruptive, he could sleep on the floor in her room. Internally delighted, You Xi feigned reluctance before agreeing. Yuchi Yao Yao made a bed for him on the floor, thanked him, and wished him goodnight, falling asleep before he could prompt more conversation.

The next morning, You Xi awoke to find Yuchi Yao Yao gone and a disheveled Zhu Da Zhuang bursting into the room. Zhu Da Zhuang passionately recounted his arduous journey—hair messed up from a tractor ride, shirt pecked by chickens, and shoes lost in a cornfield. He pleaded with You Xi to return to Jiangzhou and resolve the crisis, but You Xi remained unfazed, declaring he was content and had no intention of returning. Just then, Yuchi Yao Yao re-entered, surprised to see Zhu Da Zhuang.

Episode 19 Recap

During a meal at an ancient town, You Xi personally cooked and served, much to the surprise of Zhu Da Zhuang. Having long protected You Xi as a precious and high-maintenance star, Zhu Da Zhuang expressed his disbelief at seeing him acting as a chef.

Meanwhile, Song Qie Ge met with the Huateng Hotel owner, who offered him the male lead role in the new drama "Chancellor Zhong" on the condition that he become an unpaid brand ambassador for the hotel. Back in the ancient town, You Xi confessed his feelings for Yao Yao before informing her he had to return to the city.

Yao Yao offered to go with him, but You Xi gently refused, explaining he didn't have the energy to care for her amid the crisis. He reassured her that the public outrage would eventually subside and she could return then. As You Xi prepared to leave, Zhu Da Zhuang gave him a prepared apology script for Mr. Zhang and advised him to visit their advertisers to win them back.

Yuchi Lin Sen also gave You Xi a note with a poem, encouraging him to face the challenges ahead and start anew. Upon returning to the company, You Xi immediately sensed a new presence. Wen Moxuan appeared, greeting him warmly. Mr. Zhang then introduced Lucy as the company's new manager, informing a shocked Zhu Da Zhuang that she would now handle all company matters and had already taken over his office.

Lucy smugly declared that You Xi was a figure of the past, revealing the company had invested heavily to recruit Wen Moxuan from a rival agency. She touted Wen Moxuan as a rising star who could replace You Xi. Later, Zhu Da Zhuang learned from an assistant that Lucy had exploited his absence to seize control of artist management, poached You Xi's assistants, and convinced Mr. Zhang to redirect all company resources to make Wen Moxuan their new leading star.

Despite the bleak outlook, Zhu Da Zhuang remained defiant, vowing to fight back and teach Lucy a lesson. After You Xi's departure, a listless Yao Yao was approached by a fan at the guesthouse. The fan excitedly showed her an online post that used Yao Yao's own poems to eloquently defend her character, clarifying recent misunderstandings. This post had turned public opinion in her favor, making her the "Queen of Douban" with soaring popularity.

Yao Yao realized this was You Xi's thoughtful way of supporting her. Motivated, she decided to make spicy chicken for Yuchi Lin Sen's father. He initially criticized her cooking but ultimately enjoyed the dish. Concurrently, You Xi ate the same dish alone, feeling a profound sense of loneliness and recalling a time he had made it for Yao Yao, intentionally omitting the vinegar—the "soul of the dish"—playfully fearing she wouldn't need his cooking if she mastered the recipe.

You Xi's situation at the company worsened. Zhu Da Zhuang received news that while the drama "The Founding of the Three Kingdoms" was resuming filming, the script had been changed, the male lead replaced, and all of You Xi's scenes were cut. Lucy had also convinced advertisers to switch their endorsement deals from You Xi to Wen Moxuan, even securing a ten percent fee increase.

Facing a halved salary and no annual bonus, a desperate Zhu Da Zhuang began selling his luxury bags, shoes, and wine to make ends meet. Worried, Yao Yao called Pan Duo for an update. Zhu Da Zhuang intercepted the call, forcing Pan Duo to lie that You Xi was extremely busy with new projects. Unconvinced, Yao Yao left a note for Yuchi Lin Sen and set off to find You Xi, eventually locating him on a film set.

Seeing her, You Xi expressed his frustration, admitting he didn't want her to see him in such a vulnerable state. Yao Yao simply replied that she missed him. Back at the company, Zhu Da Zhuang recounted a heated confrontation with Lucy. He had used his connections to secure a variety show appearance for You Xi, only for Lucy to intercept it and give the slot to Wen Moxuan, leading to a physical altercation between them.

He warned You Xi that Lucy was deliberately suppressing him to elevate Wen Moxuan. Shortly after, Wen Moxuan appeared and greeted Yao Yao familiarly, boastfully asking if she had seen his press conference and suggesting that he and Yao Yao would make a "golden couple." You Xi and Yao Yao scoffed at his low social media engagement, pointing out that his followers were clearly fake accounts.

That evening, Yao Yao tried to comfort You Xi, confident his fans would support him upon his official return. However, a month after his relationship announcement, discussions about You Xi had plummeted and advertisers resisted him. Lucy advised Mr. Zhang to funnel all resources to Wen Moxuan and to "shelve" You Xi—ceasing all his public activities to let the negative sentiment die down. Despite Zhu Da Zhuang's vehement objections, Mr. Zhang agreed, stating You Xi's "transformation" had failed.

When Zhu Da Zhuang relayed the news, a dejected You Xi simply replied that it was fine and he could finally rest. Depressed, You Xi sought out Qi Chao for a drink. Qi Chao offered some serious advice from his own long career, stressing that in an industry full of new faces, true longevity comes not from fame but from skill. Meanwhile, Pan Duo returned home to find it nearly empty.

After Zhu Da Zhuang explained their financial ruin, Pan Duo vowed to stand by him, only to reveal her "cost-saving" solution was to move in with her idol, Qi Chao, enraging Zhu Da Zhuang. Qi Chao brought a heavily intoxicated You Xi home, where Yao Yao cared for him. In his drunken state, You Xi mumbled about being shelved and finally being free.

As she tended to him, Yao Yao confessed that she had liked him for a long time and was even an admin of his fan club, pouring out her heart about all the things she loved about him. The next morning, Yao Yao assured You Xi that they would face everything together, good or bad. An assistant then delivered a stack of fan letters. Expecting hate mail, You Xi was hesitant, so Yao Yao offered to read them aloud.

She cleverly rephrased the harsh criticisms into words of praise, turning insults into compliments about his talent and inner beauty. You Xi listened happily, moved by the gesture. He reflected that he had kept every fan letter since his debut, and as long as he had even one fan left, he would continue to persevere.

Episode 20 Recap

Pan Duo returns to the film set, but her day is quickly soured by the arrival of Shen Yiling, who taunts her about You Xi's demotion and points out that his former private dressing room now belongs to another actor. Shen Yiling escalates the confrontation by threatening to post an unflattering photo of Pan Duo online. Just as Pan Duo is about to retaliate, Qi Chao appears.

He coolly bluffs Shen Yiling by mentioning a non-existent recording of her assistant, warning her to delete the photo or risk a career-damaging scandal. Shen Yiling reluctantly complies. Pan Duo is touched, believing Qi Chao sacrificed important evidence for her, only for him to reveal it was a blank file. Amused, Pan Duo teases him, suggesting their telepathic connection led to his timely rescue and joking that he should stay to watch her upcoming "bed scene."

Meanwhile, unaware of the hate mail he has been receiving, You Xi is cheered by fake fan letters that Yao Yao has been secretly writing for him. His brief moment of happiness is shattered when Zhu Da Zhuang calls to reveal the truth: the real letters are from anti-fans. Plagued by vicious online comments calling him a "loser," You Xi spirals.

In a mall, he overhears patrons praising his rival Wen Moxuan's surging popularity and sees a director berating a young actor, a scene that deeply resonates with his own insecurities. The final blow comes when he witnesses his own large advertisement banner being taken down and replaced by one featuring Wen Moxuan, leaving him completely dejected. Concerned, Yao Yao calls Qi Chao, who admits that this is a battle You Xi must fight on his own.

Tormented by the public criticism, You Xi resolves to start over. He asks Qi Chao to take him to Jiang Shao Yan, a legendary acting coach known as "the walking acting textbook." Upon arrival, Jiang Shao Yan immediately launches into an intense, impromptu acting test, accusing You Xi of heinous acts to gauge his reactions. Initially bewildered, You Xi quickly adapts to the eccentric method.

He begins a period of grueling training under Jiang's unique guidance, where he is forced to cry on command, deconstruct his own persona, and memorize complex ancient poetry to sharpen his skills as an actor. After days of exhausting training, You Xi returns home to a meal prepared by Yao Yao. Despite the food being nearly inedible, he forces it down, proclaiming it delicious simply because she made it.

Delighted, Yao Yao offers to cook for him daily, an offer he playfully evades. They plan a weekend of thrilling activities like bungee jumping and scuba diving. To Yao Yao's humorous distress, You Xi turns a simple skateboarding lesson into a rigorous "warm-up" before announcing the even more daunting "main activities" to come. Elsewhere, Shen Yiling meets with Song Qie Ge.

Sarcastically remarking that Yao Yao seems destined for the female lead role, Shen Yiling reveals her real target is Pan Duo, who is auditioning for the supporting role of Madam Xumu. Recalling how she once turned a supporting role into a lead in her first film, Shen Yiling vows to crush Pan Duo and get revenge for past humiliations. One day, You Xi arrives at Jiang Shao Yan's house to find his lesson canceled due to a guest.

Mistaking this for another of the master's acting tests, You Xi bursts into the living room, ready to perform, only to find himself face-to-face with the renowned director Wei Ran. Mortified by his blunder, You Xi apologizes and quickly leaves. After his departure, Jiang Shao Yan praises You Xi's immense talent and perception to the director, strongly recommending him for the lead role in Wei Ran's new film, "Chancellor Zhong."

Separately, Song Qie Ge tries to poach Zhu Da Zhuang, arguing that You Xi is a "lost cause" and that Zhu Da Zhuang should join Shidai Entertainment rather than "sink with the ship." Zhu Da Zhuang scoffs at the offer, accusing Song Qie Ge of being shameless and jealous. He declares his loyalty to You Xi, stating he cannot work with someone who uses "underhanded and self-serving methods."

He tells Song Qie Ge the reason he always loses to You Xi is because You Xi has genuine emotion and passion, while Song Qie Ge will always be a "cold, icy piece of merchandise." Back home, You Xi diligently analyzes his past performances, pulling Yao Yao into re-enacting scenes to find new ways to portray his characters, from a determined cop to a man forced to kill his lover.

As he demonstrates a more nuanced kiss for a romantic scene, the doorbell rings. It's a distraught Pan Duo, crying over online hate about her acting. You Xi offers some practical advice about the nature of fame, but Pan Duo plays on their sympathy to stay for a movie. Not wanting a third wheel, You Xi cleverly sends her to Qi Chao's, suggesting the "Best Actor" could help her practice her scenes.

At Qi Chao's, a drunk Pan Duo demands he judge whether she or another actress is better, performing a dramatic proposal scene to prove her point. She then insists he rehearse a difficult kissing scene with her. Qi Chao refuses, stating he no longer acts. Pan Duo playfully argues that he would steal You Xi's roles in idol dramas and that they would make a perfect on-screen couple. Exhausted and emotional, she murmurs how much she misses his bed before falling asleep in his arms.

Episode 21 Recap

Following his decision to start anew, You Xi’s acting teacher, Jiang Shaoyan, informed him that his fundamentals had significantly improved and it was time for practical application. However, the roles Jiang Shaoyan arranged were minor parts in legal education shows and a music video, a stark contrast to his former leading-man status. During these shoots, he faced indignities like being misidentified as "You Deng" and being told by busy makeup artists to do his own makeup.

Despite the challenges, You Xi remained resolute, confiding in Yao Yao that he understood his teacher's intent was to help him shed his superstar aura. He affirmed that no matter how small the role, he would perform it to the best of his ability, after which Yao Yao offered to help him remove his makeup. You Xi's manager, Zhu Da Zhuang, called, urging him to come to the office for a meeting with a company interested in an endorsement deal.

There, You Xi and Zhu Da Zhuang met Mr. Wang, the General Manager of Huanyu Technology. Surprised by the offer given his current circumstances, You Xi questioned their choice. Mr. Wang explained that months ago, his company's new mobile phone was failing due to a lack of advertising funds. However, a single, casual Weibo post from You Xi using their phone had unexpectedly boosted their product, causing sales to skyrocket and saving the company.

Now, with a new product launching, Huanyu Technology wanted You Xi as their brand ambassador, an offer they gratefully accepted. You Xi’s parents arrived for a surprise visit, focusing all their attention on Yao Yao. His mother playfully chided You Xi for not telling them about his relationship, admitting she learned about it from gossip news. After praising Yao Yao's beauty, they revealed their true purpose: to meet her father, the distinguished academician Professor Yuchi Lin Sen.

During a dinner with both families, You Xi's father presented Professor Yuchi with a valuable antique. He then declared that no gift could compare to Yao Yao, whom Professor Yuchi was "giving" to his son. You Xi's mother openly stated their reason for the visit was "to settle the marriage of these two kids" and recounted You Xi's childhood awards to prove he was a worthy match.

The two fathers bonded over Baijiu, with You Xi's dad emphatically declaring, "I'm definitely getting this daughter-in-law!" Yao Yao joined the celebration, while You Xi watched on, feeling like a bemused outsider at his own family gathering. Later that night, the family went to a karaoke bar where his parents sang old songs and Yao Yao serenaded You Xi. The evening ended with You Xi carrying a heavily intoxicated Yao Yao home.

The next morning, an exhausted You Xi complained that he had been up all night cleaning up after his parents and Yao Yao, all of whom had been sick from the drinking. Over breakfast, You Xi asked when his parents planned to return to Australia. They jokingly claimed they would stay for a few years before clarifying their sole purpose was the marriage proposal, and they would now leave the couple in peace.

As they left, You Xi’s mother playfully told Yao Yao that this was You Xi's "first love," mortifying her son. Afterward, Yao Yao teased You Xi, who confidently retorted that he was a "natural talent" and didn't need prior experience. You Xi practiced a scene as a delivery person with Yao Yao, who critiqued his performance for its lack of authenticity.

Later, his teacher, also dissatisfied with his portrayal, instructed him to gain firsthand experience by working as a delivery driver. While on a delivery, You Xi received an impatient call from Zhu Da Zhuang, who excitedly informed him that acclaimed director Wei Ran was holding auditions for a new film. Returning home, You Xi shared the good news with Yao Yao. He proudly showed her the script, which contained only a single line: "Your mother passed away."

Free from his past ego, You Xi insisted that with heartfelt execution, even one line could be legendary. He explained his character was a comrade who often mocked the timid Guan Zhong, but must now deliver the news of his mother's death. Yao Yao suggested the character should convey empathy, as a fellow soldier far from home. Taking her feedback to heart, You Xi felt he now understood how to approach the role.

At the audition for the historical drama "Chancellor Zhong," You Xi lined up with the extras for the role of "Soldier A." His presence caused a stir, which intensified when Song Qie Ge arrived to audition for the male lead. Song Qie Ge approached You Xi and cruelly mocked him, suggesting he was a "humble and struggling" ant that he could crush at any moment. You Xi calmly held back an incensed Yao Yao, stating that arguing was pointless.

After his audition, You Xi was called back by the assistant director, Wang Kai, to read lines with the main actors. In an unexpected pairing, he performed opposite Song Qie Ge. While Song Qie Ge's delivery was straightforward, You Xi's interpretation was more profound: the news of his comrade’s loss awakened his own character's dormant grief, causing him to shed a tear for his own mother.

Impressed, the director asked them both to consider how they would play the grieving son before ending the session. Later, You Xi confirmed to Yao Yao that he had passed the audition. Back home, Yao Yao found You Xi diligently writing his memoir. When she asked why he had resumed the project, he explained that he was filled with inspiration and was including his profound insights on acting, life, and, most importantly, their love story.

Yao Yao playfully suggested he use more evocative phrasing to captivate readers. Later, You Xi and Yao Yao pranked Zhu Da Zhuang when he visited, pretending to be destitute to practice for a scene. After the reveal, a briefly annoyed Zhu Da Zhuang presented the real reason for his visit: an invitation for You Xi to appear on a variety show, "Founding of the Three Kingdoms," as a last-minute replacement for another actor.

You Xi was hesitant until he learned the other guests were Song Qie Ge and Shen Yiling. Zhu Da Zhuang explained the show wanted to create buzz by featuring casts from two rival dramas and taunted that if You Xi didn't go, Song Qie Ge would claim he was afraid. Provoked, You Xi declared, "I'm scared of them? I have to go!"

Episode 22 Recap

Following up on their agreement to appear on a talk show, You Xi and Pan Duo prepared to face their rivals, Song Qie Ge and Shen Yiling. Feeling the pressure, You Xi assured his agent, Zhu Da Zhuang, that he had studied Sun Tzu's "Art of War" and devised numerous strategies to ensure their success.

As the show began, the host introduced the cast of "The Founding of the Three Kingdoms", including Zheng Jia Er, Pan Duo, and You Xi, alongside the cast of "Falling Apart", Song Qie Ge and Shen Yiling. When asked about filming challenges, Song Qie Ge spoke of the necessary hardships of acting, but Pan Duo interjected, noting his frequent appearances on Weibo's trending topics for minor issues like catching a cold, implying he exaggerated for attention.

Song Qie Ge deflected, attributing it to media hype, before steering the conversation to rumors that You Xi had started delivering takeout after being shelved. While the host tried to move on, You Xi candidly admitted to it, explaining that he used the time for self-reflection. He stated that while he couldn't change his past, he was determined to take responsibility for his future.

Quoting Lu Xun, he expressed his resolve to re-emerge as a "new me" who would surprise everyone, rather than fading away in silence. After You Xi's segment, Pan Duo spoke about her ambition to become a great actress. Shen Yiling then offered feigned sympathy, mentioning the online trolling Pan Duo endured for her acting and patronizingly noting that new artists have a long journey ahead.

Pan Duo cleverly turned the tables, acknowledging Shen Yiling’s seven-year career but subtly highlighting that many actresses her age had already won multiple awards while Shen Yiling was consistently just a runner-up. Pan Duo then brought up recent online rumors about Shen Yiling’s demanding behavior, such as insisting on Michelin three-star meals, causing chaos for film crews, and even making her assistant drive to another city late at night for stinky tofu, mocking that Shen Yiling's "goddess filter" had shattered.

Backstage, while You Xi and Pan Duo celebrated their successful confrontation, Zhu Da Zhuang reminded them that the show's second half included a segment where they had to call the first person in their phone contacts and say, "I miss you." You Xi decided to call his girlfriend, Yao Yao, brushing off Zhu Da Zhuang’s concerns about her sensitive identity.

Later, Shen Yiling entered their lounge uninvited, mocking You Xi for being reduced to a nameless supporting role while Song Qie Ge was the male lead. She arrogantly declared that she and Song Qie Ge were the undisputed choices for the leads in Mr. Wei Ran's new movie. The show's second half began with the phone call segment. Shen Yiling called a young fan, and Zheng Jia Er's call to her mother was cut short.

Song Qie Ge’s emotional call to his university mentor seemed pre-arranged. When it was Pan Duo’s turn, she called her idol, Qi Chao, who curtly said he was "too busy" and hung up. Finally, You Xi called Yao Yao. After an initial busy signal, Yao Yao called him back.

Unaware she was on air, she sweetly told him she had just finished class and was going to the cafeteria to buy him his favorite red bean cakes and other snacks, their affectionate and natural connection charming the audience. After the show, a frustrated Pan Duo sought out Zhu Da Zhuang to complain about Qi Chao’s coldness.

Zhu Da Zhuang then revealed the tragic story of Qi Chao's past: his girlfriend, a talented actress, had refused to submit to a director's sexual advances disguised as an audition. Resisting him, she tragically jumped from a high floor of the hotel and lost her life. Zhu Da Zhuang explained that this devastating event was why Qi Chao had left the film industry, leaving Pan Duo deeply saddened and empathetic.

The next day, Zhu Da Zhuang and Pan Duo went to You Xi’s home to watch the broadcast, as Zhu Da Zhuang had sold their television. You Xi was thrilled to see his online popularity soaring, with "Mr. You" trending on Weibo after his sweet call with Yao Yao. Amid the celebration, he received a call from Mr. Wei Ran, who invited him to a meeting.

Meanwhile, Song Qie Ge learned of the meeting and grew concerned, but his boss assured him that You Xi posed no threat. During their meeting, Mr. Wei Ran asked You Xi if he thought Song Qie Ge was suitable for the male lead in his new film. You Xi candidly replied that Mr. Wei Ran "deserved someone better."

Mr. Wei Ran then revealed he had already found a new candidate: Zhao Yi, whom he praised for his impressive presence on set. Though inwardly dismayed, You Xi forced a smile and agreed that Zhao Yi was better than Song Qie Ge. The premiere of "The Founding of the Three Kingdoms" arrived, coinciding with the release of Song Qie Ge's "Falling Apart".

You Xi was confident his drama would win the ratings battle, and Pan Duo had rallied extensive support from her network of friends and family. Qi Chao’s theme song for the drama quickly became a trending topic, while "Falling Apart" was criticized for turning a historical drama into an "idol drama" with a kissing scene in the first episode. While watching the show, Qi Chao found himself mesmerized by Pan Duo’s on-screen performance, just as his television signal cut out.

The next day, Zhu Da Zhuang excitedly announced that their drama had secured the top spot in the ratings. However, their joy was cut short when Pan Duo discovered a malicious Weibo post targeting her. The post, likely orchestrated by Shen Yiling, accused Pan Duo of using her agent, Zhu Da Zhuang, and having "unspeakable underground deals" with You Xi to advance her career, and claimed she was now trying to use Qi Chao for fame.

Fearing Qi Chao would believe the rumors, Pan Duo rushed to his home to explain, but he refused to open the door. Desperate to get him to listen, Pan Duo faked a series of emergencies, shouting through the door that she was about to faint and that there was a fire. This tactic, echoing the trauma of his ex-girlfriend's suicide, caused a panicked Qi Chao to rush out.

Upon realizing he had been tricked, Qi Chao was furious and declared he never wanted to see her again, but his anger quickly softened. Pan Duo tearfully apologized for worrying him and reaffirmed her genuine feelings, insisting she was not interested in his fame. Qi Chao then stated that he never believes entertainment news and that being criticized online is normal for an artist, implying that he believed her.

Touched, Pan Duo saw Qi Chao attempting to defend her online against the "network trolls." However, she quickly realized his simple, ineffective replies were no match for the aggressive haters. Deciding his approach was too gentle, Pan Duo took over the keyboard, ready to confront the critics herself.

Episode 23 Recap

Early in the morning, Zhu Da Zhuang arrived at You Xi's home expecting to pick up his niece, Pan Duo, for a shopping trip, only to find she hadn't come home. Panicking, he immediately assumed she had run away due to the recent scandal, even blaming Shen Yiling, and broke into tears. You Xi calmed him down, suggesting Pan Duo might be at Qi Chao's place.

After frantically failing to reach Qi Chao by phone, Zhu Da Zhuang's worry subsided when You Xi showed him a news headline on Weibo. He recognized Pan Duo's distinct writing style in a post, confirming she was safe.

Upon her return, Zhu Da Zhuang, as both her second uncle and agent, sternly reprimanded her for staying out all night without notice, causing immense worry, and for disappearing amidst a scandal, which was unprofessional for an artist, especially a young woman staying with a man alone. Later, while You Xi and Qi Chao were cooking, You Xi teased Qi Chao about deliberately losing to Pan Duo in cards, hinting at his growing affection for her.

He playfully asked if Pan Duo had "melted the iceberg" and if Qi Chao would soon have to call him "third uncle." A flustered Qi Chao changed the subject, prompting You Xi to gently advise him that it was time to let go of his past. Meanwhile, Pan Duo successfully landed the role of the second female lead in Mr. Wei Ran's new project, "Chancellor Zhong."

After mistakenly calling You Xi first, she invited Qi Chao to a small celebration dinner, citing her financial struggles as the reason for a low-key event. When Qi Chao arrived at a restaurant to find a private candlelight dinner, Pan Duo explained that You Xi and Yao Yao couldn't make it, allowing them some private time. She then formally confessed her long-standing love for Qi Chao, which she had felt since their first meeting.

Acknowledging that he might reject her, she expressed her willingness to wait for his acceptance. Pan Duo then urged him not to run from his past, revealing she knew about his previous tragedy and assuring him his former love would want him to be happy. Moved, Qi Chao took her hand and confessed that he loved her too, unsure of when it began but recalling her encouragement in the recording studio and her bravery in defending him.

He thanked her for giving him a new beginning and the chance to love again. Anxiety grew as the cast for "Chancellor Zhong" was nearly set, with many actors already announcing their roles online, but the male and female leads remained unconfirmed. You Xi, who had not yet received a contract, grew visibly anxious for the male lead role, despite Zhu Da Zhuang's philosophical reassurances.

Shortly after, Qi Chao officially announced his relationship with Pan Duo on Weibo, clarifying that he was the one pursuing her, which effectively dispelled rumors that Pan Duo was opportunistically seeking fame. You Xi's memoir was published and became an instant bestseller, selling out rapidly and garnering widespread positive reviews. Netizens praised his unexpected literary talent, with some playfully attributing it to the influence of his "top student girlfriend," Yao Yao.

Mr. Wei Ran also personally endorsed the book on Weibo, praising its authenticity and noting that You Xi had matured beyond his former "impetuous and conceited" demeanor. When You Xi nervously asked about the role, Mr. Wei Ran teased him that the part "is not right for you," before confirming he had secured the male lead in "Chancellor Zhong." At a meeting with investors, Mr. Wei Ran officially announced You Xi as the male lead.

When one investor questioned the choice, citing You Xi’s lower popularity compared to Song Qie Ge, Mr. Wei Ran staunchly defended his decision, emphasizing an actor's skill over fame. In parallel, an enraged Song Qie Ge confronted his financial backer for failing to secure him the role of Guan Zhong. Seizing an opportunity when Shen Yiling arrived, Song Qie Ge devised a scheme, lying that he had been cast as the male lead and Pan Duo as the female lead.

When Shen Yiling expressed her outrage, Song Qie Ge offered to help her secure a role, suggesting they shared a common enemy in SG Entertainment and arranging to meet her at the Huateng Hotel, Room 9019. At SG Entertainment, Zhu Da Zhuang triumphantly announced to Mr. Zhang that You Xi was the male lead in "Chancellor Zhong." Overjoyed, Mr. Zhang immediately lifted the company's decision to "shelve" You Xi.

However, their celebration was cut short by an online exposé—an 80,000-word post accusing You Xi of cheating on Yao Yao with Shen Yiling, complete with a fabricated timeline of international trips and pseudo-psychological analysis of their interactions. You Xi and Zhu Da Zhuang, recognizing the post's loopholes, planned a counter-strategy: refute the claims and have You Xi publicly display affection with Yao Yao.

When Pan Duo and Qi Chao visited, they saw You Xi and Yao Yao in a heated argument, making them fear the rumors had caused a real breakup. However, it was revealed to be a performance designed to expose their enemies, with You Xi declaring his and Yao Yao's bond was "stronger than gold." They all suspected Song Qie Ge was behind the plot.

Just then, Zhu Da Zhuang received devastating news: a video of You Xi and Shen Yiling's "night rendezvous" at a hotel had surfaced. You Xi vehemently denied it, only to recall that he had indeed stayed at the Huateng Hotel in Room 9019 after a party. He quickly deduced the video was manipulated by splicing footage of him and Shen Yiling entering the same room on different dates, and he tasked Zhu Da Zhuang with obtaining the original surveillance footage.

Meanwhile, a furious Shen Yiling confronted Song Qie Ge, who smugly admitted to luring her to the hotel to frame You Xi, declaring he would sell out anyone to get what he wanted. When she threatened to expose him, he revealed her assistant had been bribed. Her Weibo account had just posted a confession to an "underground relationship" with You Xi and announced her retirement.

As a final, cruel blow, Song Qie Ge informed her that she had been fired and that the female lead in "Chancellor Zhong" was originally meant for her. The scandal plunged SG Entertainment and the "Chancellor Zhong" production into crisis. With Shen Yiling's company, Shidai Entertainment, having already terminated her contract, pressure mounted on SG.

At an urgent meeting, management learned that online forums had crashed, five advertisers had suspended cooperation, and the company's stock was plummeting, jeopardizing projects for their other artists. Their efforts to disprove the video failed when the Huateng Hotel claimed the original footage was lost, and their own technical department could find no signs of tampering, declaring the video "real." With no other options, Mr. Zhang was forced to prepare a statement announcing the termination of You Xi's contract.

Episode 24 (Ending) Recap

Zhu Da Zhuang, You Xi's agent, furiously confronted the SG Entertainment executives who planned to terminate You Xi's contract. He recounted You Xi's relentless hard work, enduring harsh conditions and taking on numerous projects without complaint, highlighting You Xi's immense contribution to the company's success. He then vehemently declared that if they dared to terminate You Xi's contract, he would quit. Just as the tension escalated, You Xi arrived.

He calmly announced his decision to unilaterally and voluntarily dissolve his contract with SG Entertainment and apologized for any negative impact he had caused. This move earned him the respect of the shocked executives. Before leaving, You Xi made one last request, urging them to retain Zhu Da Zhuang, whom he praised as an excellent agent whose loss would be significant for SG Entertainment.

Believing he had finally defeated You Xi, Song Qie Ge visited You Xi at home to gloat. He resentfully reminded You Xi of past instances where You Xi's projects had unexpectedly outperformed his own, even winning awards that Song Qie Ge felt should have been his.

Song Qie Ge then announced that Mr. Wei Ran had chosen him for the lead role in his new film, a decision he would officially declare at an upcoming press conference, advising You Xi to watch and "comfort yourself with fantasy." That evening, You Xi, Pan Duo, Qi Chao, and Zhu Da Zhuang gathered at You Xi's place to strategize.

Their investigation into the fabricated video linking You Xi and Shen Yiling had hit a dead end, as the video showed no obvious flaws and Huateng Hotel claimed the original surveillance footage was lost. You Xi then identified Shen Yiling as the crucial person in unraveling the truth. The next day, You Xi and Yao Yao met with Shen Yiling.

She revealed that Song Qie Ge had tricked her into going to the hotel by falsely promising to help her secure a role, only for him to meet her there. However, she expressed frustration that she lacked any concrete evidence to expose Song Qie Ge's scheme. The group later attempted to gather evidence at the hotel, disguising themselves to find clues.

Zhu Da Zhuang failed to get any useful gossip from the staff, Pan Duo found a brooch that belonged to a previous guest, Qi Chao was caught trying to hack the system, and Yao Yao was identified while trying to deceive the receptionist. Even You Xi was unsuccessful, getting kicked out after he was caught sneaking cake while trying to eavesdrop. Despite their varied efforts, they returned empty-handed.

Later, Yao Yao received a call that prompted her to leave in a hurry. The caller was Tong Jin, who revealed herself to be the daughter of the hotel's head, Mr. Tong, and a backer of Song Qie Ge. She showed Yao Yao the surveillance video that could prove You Xi's innocence, only to sadistically destroy the digital file right in front of her, mocking You Xi and Shen Yiling.

Unbeknownst to Tong Jin, her father had secretly kept a copy of the video, wary of Song Qie Ge and intending to use it as future leverage. Meanwhile, the investors for Mr. Wei Ran's new film, led by Mr. Tong, prepared a press conference to announce Song Qie Ge as the male lead.

This was a strategic move to force Mr. Wei Ran's hand by presenting him with a fait accompli, as they believed he couldn't make the film without their investment. At the press conference, Song Qie Ge took the stage, delivering a pompous speech thanking Mr. Wei Ran for the opportunity. Mid-speech, Pan Duo burst into the hall and rushed onto the stage.

She loudly accused Song Qie Ge of framing You Xi, insisting that Song Qie Ge himself was the one who met Shen Yiling that night. She bluffed that she had video evidence, but Song Qie Ge coolly dismantled her claim by pointing out that the suit from the fake video had been auctioned months ago and that the woman in the clip didn't have Shen Yiling's shoulder mole. He then signaled for security to remove her.

Just as the situation seemed dire, Qi Chao, Zhu Da Zhuang, and Yao Yao arrived. Overcoming her debilitating agoraphobia, Yao Yao bravely stepped onto the stage to clear You Xi's name. As she began to explain the truth, an enraged Song Qie Ge lunged forward to snatch the microphone, pushing her to the ground. At that critical moment, You Xi arrived.

Seeing Yao Yao fall, he stormed the stage and delivered a powerful punch to Song Qie Ge, declaring that he hated anyone who interrupted his girlfriend. You Xi's presence instantly calmed Yao Yao. She picked up the microphone again and played the crucial surveillance video. Tong Jin, watching from the audience, was bewildered, as she had personally destroyed her copy. It was then explained that Mr. Tong had secretly retained the original video, anticipating Song Qie Ge's potential betrayal.

Faced with this undeniable proof, Song Qie Ge lost control, grabbing a security guard's baton and attempting to strike Yao Yao, though he failed to injure her. Zhu Da Zhuang publicly condemned Song Qie Ge, contrasting his deceitful actions with You Xi's integrity, even revealing that You Xi had secretly funded a rival's brother's medical expenses. Defeated, Song Qie Ge expressed regret that he and You Xi had ever joined the same company.

With his name cleared, You Xi's career reached new heights. Despite Zhu Da Zhuang's plans for a packed schedule of commercial endorsements and reality shows, You Xi decided to prioritize studying the script for his role in Mr. Wei Ran's film. Understanding You Xi's commitment to his craft, Zhu Da Zhuang canceled the engagements, even though it meant a significant reduction in potential income.

One year later, You Xi received the Best Leading Actor award for his role in Mr. Wei Ran's film, "Chancellor Zhong", which had become a massive box office success. Zhu Da Zhuang's professional standing within the company also soared, reflecting his successful management of You Xi's career. Qi Chao and Pan Duo's relationship deepened. Qi Chao, now frequently accompanying Pan Duo to her film sets, found himself comically jealous during her on-screen kissing scenes.

Yao Yao, having fully conquered her agoraphobia, successfully realized her dream of becoming a teacher. While the story reached its conclusion, You Xi and Yao Yao's journey together had only just begun.
