Feng Muchen was determined to save Feng's company by securing Ye Wange's shares through a marriage alliance. To achieve this, he took off his shirt, attempting to seduce Ye Wange. Meanwhile, Ye Wange, influenced by the novel's plot, continued her own seductive attempts, which included her belief that an asteroid crash might be her chance to return home.
When she asked Feng Muchen how she looked, he remarked that her "acting was as bad as ever," and sarcastically suggested they "get married soon" if she couldn't live without him. When she continued her flirtatious remarks, Feng Muchen questioned if her "chest was fake." He reiterated his resolve that "it's all for Feng's sake," then moved closer to her, confirming his suspicion by remarking, "I said it was fake, didn't I?"
Internally, Ye Wange expressed frustration with the "novel website" for not providing any "bonus" and wondered if "there was something wrong with him." Chen Ma informed Ye Wange that Mr. Ye had arrived at the villa. Mr. Ye immediately confronted Ye Wenyuan about the rampant rumors of Ye Wange's pregnancy, criticizing him for neglecting her and not personally taking her for a checkup, especially since she didn't have a mother.
Ye Wenyuan attempted to defend himself, suggesting it was a joyous occasion and not his place as a father to handle such matters, but others quickly silenced him. Mr. Ye then announced that Ye Wange was not pregnant, expressing his dismay that his granddaughter had "suffered so much for something that didn't happen." Ye Wenyuan then suggested revisiting the marriage between Feng Muchen and Lu Wanqing.
Mr. Ye firmly disagreed, questioning if Ye Wenyuan didn't believe the doctor or doubted his own words. Ye Wenyuan quickly backed down, stating that Mr. Ye was "in charge of this family." Mr. Ye then announced that Ye Wange was now eligible to inherit the shares her mother had gifted her before her death. Overwhelmed, Ye Wange internally rejoiced at becoming "a rich man," declaring Mr. Ye "the God of Wealth."
Mr. Ye advised Feng Muchen to "consider carefully what to do," before stating that he, as her grandfather, "recognized" Feng Muchen and Ye Wange as a couple and "only approved of them." Before leaving, Mr. Ye, who had been using a wheelchair, surprisingly stood up and instructed Ning Yuan to return the "sample" wheelchair, revealing he was capable of walking all along. He gave Ye Wange a necklace, saying it "might come in handy sometime."
Ye Wange watched him walk away, realizing, "So Grandpa can walk." After discovering her inheritance, Ye Wange quickly rejected Feng Muchen. Feng Muchen reminded her of his promise to keep it, but she declared herself rich and saw no reason to marry him, stating they "don't know each other well" and urging him to "be mature." Feng Muchen, in turn, tried to use her past interest against her, claiming he now liked her and wanted to marry.
Meanwhile, Ye Wenyuan tried to persuade Lu Wanqing to proceed with her marriage to Feng Muchen, dismissing Mr. Ye's decision as "old and confused." However, Lu Wanqing firmly refused, stating, "I'm not interested in men" and that she "just wants to focus on my career," even criticizing Feng Muchen for being "love-struck" and calling herself "an independent woman." Shen Lingzhu tried to salvage the situation, promising Feng Muchen that she would talk to Lu Wanqing later.
Feeling rejected by three women—Ye Wange, Lu Wanqing, and implicitly Shen Lingzhu's deferral—and facing plummeting company stock due to the rumors of Ye Wange dumping him, Feng Muchen vowed to "come back" and figure out "what this woman [Ye Wange] is thinking." Meanwhile, Ye Wange, realizing she couldn't leave the novel by extreme means, decided to try a different approach.
Believing that romantic novels end when the male and female leads get together, she formed a new plan: to "set up Feng Muchen and Lu Wanqing" to achieve her goal of exiting the novel. She mused about how to make a career-focused person like Lu Wanqing "believe in love." Back at the villa, Ye Wange, feeling frustrated, was caught by Ning Yuan who mistakenly thought she was trying to harm herself by hitting the wall.
As she struggled to get away from Ning Yuan, he accidentally fell into the pool. Feng Muchen, arriving at that moment, accused Ye Wange of "acting pitiful" and "seeking to die," assuming she had deliberately pushed Ning Yuan into the water, especially after she had broken off their engagement. Ye Wange, trying to defend herself and help Ning Yuan, countered that Feng Muchen thought too "smartly" and "viciously" of her.
As Ning Yuan was pulled from the water, Feng Muchen continued to scold Ye Wange, asking "what the hell" she was doing every day and why she kept coming to "his home," implying she was trying to get his attention. Ye Wange retorted, calling him narcissistic, and then, due to an upset stomach, she let out a loud fart at him as she tried to walk away, warning him not to "regret it."
Feng Muchen, utterly bewildered and disgusted by her behavior, exclaimed to Ning Yuan that Ye Wange had "repeatedly upended his worldview." This bizarre incident, however, perversely "ignited his desire to conquer her." Feng Muchen, after the unpleasant incident by the pool, sought refuge in Lu Wanqing's room to change his wet clothes. As he was changing, Lu Wanqing unexpectedly walked in, asking why he was "naked in her house."
Just then, Shen Lingzhu, having heard about Feng Muchen's presence, came looking for him. To avoid being seen, Feng Muchen quickly covered Lu Wanqing's mouth and pulled her into the closet. Once Shen Lingzhu left, Feng Muchen, after an earlier argument, confronted her, accusing her of "playing hard-to-get." He then sought her help for the upcoming press conference, mentioning the presence of many reporters outside.
Lu Wanqing, realizing Feng's desperate need to ally with the Ye family and even marry Ye Wange to save his company, agreed to help him attend the press conference, stating, "I'll take you there." Feng Muchen thanked her. After securing his agreement with Lu Wanqing, Feng Muchen, amidst flashing cameras capturing their staged dinner orchestrated by Ning Yuan, prepared to leave. Lu Wanqing bid him success for the next day and left on her own.
Observing this, Ye Wange, who was still trying to orchestrate a match between them, confronted Feng Muchen, urging him to pursue Lu Wanqing and "not act like a male lead at all." However, Feng Muchen unexpectedly told Ye Wange that he was "more interested in her" and then coolly walked away to a bar for an appointment.
A frustrated Ye Wange tried to follow, but the bar staff blocked her entry, stating they "only recognize cards, not people," despite her protests of being "the daughter of the Ye family" and claiming to be with Feng. Feeling annoyed, Ye Wange was then approached by a man who claimed to know her, promising to arrange her entry into the bar if she joined his friends for a drink. Believing his false promises, Ye Wange agreed.
Later, after Feng Muchen had entered the bar, he inquired about Ye Wange and was told she had gone towards the lake with a man. Feng Muchen cynically remarked that "it's hard to change her nature," once again misinterpreting her actions. The man and his accomplices then seized Ye Wange and threw her into a nearby pool. While Ye Wange struggled in the pool, Chen Ma was seen secretly meeting with her son.
Her son questioned her recent secretive behavior, asking if "she" had instructed her. Chen Ma confessed that "she" had promised a large sum of money and freedom from serving her, so they "won't have to live in fear." Her son, though calling her "silly," pointed out that if they didn't comply, "she won't let us go." Chen Ma, however, had a different plan.
After musing that if "she" truly left no way out for them, she told her son he "don't have to do this." She then tearfully expressed that in the "next life," she would "pay with her life" for "Miss," implying a self-sacrificial act to protect Ye Wange.
