Ten months later, a baby was delivered to Si Mohan's doorstep. Years afterward, Si Mohan hired a young girl named Ji Xiaobei (Chole Taylor), the same age as his son Si Nian (Evan), to help raise the boy—unaware that Ji Xiaobei was actually his own daughter with Ji Ruyin.
Six years earlier, Ji Ruyin had fallen seriously ill and missed the chance to reunite with Si Mohan. Though their flesh and blood were right before him, the path to bringing the family together was fraught with hardship.
