She expressed a desire to live alone, insisting she could manage and support herself. Unable to agree but unwilling to contradict her directly, Liao Danyi skillfully redirected the conversation. You are already taking sides with her and are partial to her." Clearly believing Ye Muqi to be Liao Danyi's girlfriend, she indiscriminately struck both of them and chased them out of the room. Alone on her bed, the grandmother sighed, opened the old box, and retrieved a white jade bracelet wrapped in silk, examining it thoughtfully.
