To protect Su Wubing, Lin Ningsue sacrifices her spirit, and together they fall into the cycle of reincarnation.
Thousands of lifetimes later, Su Wubing awakens his memories in the modern city of Fancheng, just in time to find Lin Ningsue being forced to marry into the Gu family to save her father. He crashes the wedding, uses his awakened spiritual powers to fight against the Gu Group, and gains the help of his faithful old servant Ye Tianmiao, who has waited ten thousand years, as well as Ye Xiaonuan, the granddaughter of a medical sage.
