My Uncanny Destiny Episode 13 Recap
> My Uncanny Destiny Recap
In Muxi City, General Jin Fu held a solemn funeral for his sister, Zhilan, the City Lord's wife, even forcing a wedding ceremony to convert into a mourning service for her. Jin Fu was deeply saddened by Zhilan's death and blamed Ye Zhaonan. However, his younger brother, Jin Ting, saw the truth clearly, stating that Zhilan's fate was sealed because Jin Fu insisted she marry the Lord.
Jin Ting condemned his brother's actions as those of a traitor, shaming their loyal family name. Jin Fu angrily threatened Jin Ting, but Jin Ting stood firm, daring Jin Fu to strike him down so he could join Zhilan. An officer then arrived with news that their spies had reported dealing with Ye Zhaonan and that an envoy from Xuanyue City was on the way for peace talks.
Jin Fu was furious that Xuanyue dared to send an envoy after Zhilan died there and declared he would use the envoy's head to honor his sister. On the road to Muxi City, Yi Yangjun traveled with Sanmei, who was Ye Zhaonan in disguise.
Three men, including Guan, Zhao Jing, and Feng Lei, received a written order from Jin Fu instructing them to kill the person who had asked them to write a previous letter – they realized this referred to Sanmei. Fearing for their families held hostage by Jin Fu, they felt they had no choice but to comply partially. They offered Sanmei and Yi Yangjun drugged water, which left them incapacitated.
The three men found Sanmei seemingly lifeless (she had used acupuncture to fake her death) and recovered something she carried. Yi Yangjun was also affected by the drug but recovered. The men expressed their remorse, explaining Jin Fu was forcing them and that they had delivered a body believed to be Ye Zhaonan's to Jin Fu, though the Golden Seal was not found with it. Ye Zhaonan questioned why Jin Fu wanted her dead.
The men, curious about her influence, asked why Liu Xuanming favored her, how she was involved in Princess Qimeng's death, and who she truly was. Ye Zhaonan revealed her true identity: the real Lord of Muxi City was a woman, raised as a man in secret by her father. She produced the Golden Seal, the symbol of Muxi authority, convincing the stunned men of her lineage. They immediately knelt and saluted her.
The three men later reported to Jin Fu, telling him they had not found the Golden Seal, suggesting it might have been lost when Ye Zhaonan fell. Jin Fu ordered them to spread the news of the Lord's death in court but to keep the Golden Seal's absence quiet while he sent more people to search for it, intending to use its retrieval to legitimize his claim to the throne.
The men, fearing for their lives, begged Jin Fu to spare them, claiming they could be of great use. They revealed that the Xuanyue envoy was Guan Sanmei, stating they knew her well from their time in Xuanyue and that she trusted them. They elaborated that Guan Sanmei was Liu Xuanming's favored woman, describing her as similar in appearance to Ye Zhaonan, and claiming she had even killed Princess Qimeng out of jealousy.
They proposed that if Jin Fu could control Guan Sanmei, he could control Liu Xuanming, thus gaining power over both Muxi and Xuanyue cities. Meanwhile, Tan Rang brought Yun Luo to a secluded residence in Muxi City. Despite the dusty and simple conditions, Yun Luo was surprisingly cheerful and fascinated by their surroundings, stating that home was wherever Tan Rang was.
Tan Rang planned to go find Jin Fu and instructed Yun Luo to stay put, warning her of the danger. Yun Luo promised to be obedient, calling herself a princess. Back with Ye Zhaonan and the three men, Yi Yangjun seemed amused upon learning that Liu Xuanming was in love with Ye Zhaonan, prompting a sharp retort from her.
The three men, now knowing her true status, became overly formal, but Ye Zhaonan urged them to treat her as they always had. She stressed the extreme danger of being in Muxi City and explained their critical task: they could not be seen together, and they must convince Jin Fu that Ye Zhaonan was truly dead.
In Muxi City, Ke Qianyue and her maid Bailu had arrived with a man they believed to be Jin Ting, but was actually a fake Jin Ting. Ke Qianyue remarked on the city's quietness, and "Jin Ting" explained it was due to his sister's funeral, highlighting his family's influence.
He took them to a remote residence instead of the General's Palace or an inn, claiming it was inappropriate to bring guests home during mourning and that inns were for disreputable people. After sending Bailu away for water, "Jin Ting" attempted to force himself on Ke Qianyue, saying they should "do things" before getting married. Ke Qianyue fought back fiercely, hitting him and boasting about her past exploits in Xuanyue City.
She demanded he make his brother Jin Fu surrender military power so she could take control, planning to conquer Xuanyue and Tianmu next to unify the world. " Jin Ting" mocked her grand ambitions, suggesting she was only fit to rule a brothel. An officer announced the arrival of Yi Yangjun at the General's Palace.
Jin Fu ordered the coffin containing the body believed to be Ye Zhaonan's moved to an inner room and instructed the three men who had delivered it to guard it closely day and night. Jin Fu met with Yi Yangjun, who stated he had come to demand Guan Sanmei of Xuanyue City. Jin Fu initially dismissed this, but Yi Yangjun insisted, claiming Guan Sanmei was Liu Xuanming's favored envoy who had killed Princess Qimeng, and he sought revenge.
Jin Fu questioned why Yi Yangjun didn't pursue her in Xuanyue, knowing Liu Xuanming protected her there. Yi Yangjun stated he couldn't let her go now that she was in Muxi. Jin Fu scoffed at Yi Yangjun's diminished status after his defeat in Xuanyue, but Yi Yangjun asserted his identity as Yi Yang of Tianmu City. Just then, an officer announced the arrival of the Xuanyue envoy, Guan Sanmei, at the palace gates. Yi Yangjun, upon hearing her arrival, suggested Jin Fu, if he wanted Tianmu City's friendship, should deal with her himself. Jin Fu readily agreed.
