Liu Xuanming accused the man sent to assassinate him of being an agent of Ye Zhaonan from Muxi City, threatening to capture Ye Zhaonan one day and tear him into pieces. The assassin, Tan Rang, inwardly remarked on fate's irony. He admitted he was hired to kill Liu Xuanming and refused a higher payment, stating that an assassin must complete the task once accepted or face death, and that he needed to survive for Yun Luo.
However, remembering that Ye Zhaonan had helped him and Yun Luo, Tan Rang decided to give Liu Xuanming another month, hoping Ye Zhaonan would not die by Liu Xuanming's hand during that time.
Liu Xuanming noted that Tan Rang was blind and advised him not to go out at night, but Tan Rang replied that he had been blinded by love, making day and night indistinguishable, and that he needed to get used to this life to care for Yun Luo. Xuanyue City became very lively with people arriving from various places for the Lord's wedding, bringing vendors and performers.

They speculated that Sanmei was pregnant and that was the only reason the Lord would marry her alongside the princess. Yun Luo, angered by their words, revealed her identity as Princess Yunluo and introduced Liu Xuanming as the Lord of Xuanyue City.
Liu Xuanming confirmed that Guan Sanmei was the woman he would marry and love for his entire life. He addressed the rumors, stating that far from her seducing him, it was he who had been captivated by her. He called her a gift from heaven and instructed the people that they could criticize or insult him, but they must not say a single bad word about her. The crowd then cheered for them.
Ke Qianyue, witnessing this, was furious and declared that if her beauty wasn't appreciated here, she could go to Muxi City and marry Ye Zhaonan instead. Separately, Yao Hu reported losing track of Yi Yangjun, who seemed to be deliberately hiding, confirming that they were involved in some form of plotting within the city, though likely not an immediate assassination attempt after the street scene. Qi Meng, angry and distressed, resolved to kill Sanmei before the wedding.
She took out her frustration on a maid. A subordinate advised her to remain calm and avoid creating trouble before the wedding, reminding her that Yi Yangjun was her true master. Mrs. Ke arrived with Qi Meng's wedding dress, mentioning that an identical one had also been made for Sanmei. Qi Meng adopted a demure facade, presenting a bracelet to Mrs. Ke for Ke Qianyue and stating that she would not marry alongside another person.
After Mrs. Ke left, Qi Meng voiced her outrage at having to wear the same dress as a "lowly person" and reiterated her refusal to share her wedding day. When Sanmei fastened the buttons, the needles would pierce her skin, causing her to die before reaching the wedding hall.
Qi Meng asked how they could get the needles into Sanmei's dress, and it was suggested they didn't need to sew them into Qi Meng's own dress. Meanwhile, Sanmei (Ye Zhaonan) instructed Zhao Jing on sending a letter to General Jinfu using theXiguan Departments garbage disposal system, explaining that eleven barrels signified a message was being sent, placed at the bottom of the eleventh barrel. She gave him a letter for Jinfu's mansion, strictly forbidding him from opening it.
She promised that Jinfu would release their families upon receiving the letter, but only if they swore never to harm others again, to which Zhao Jing agreed. Qi Meng's maid, Qianer, spoke to Feng Lei about Qi Meng's distress over a minor flaw in her wedding dress. Feng Lei insisted he could fix anything for his "sister" Qi Meng. Qi Meng lamented that the tiny flaw would ruin her dream of a perfect wedding.
When Feng Lei offered to have it mended, she refused, saying mending a new dress before wearing it was bad luck. Qianer then suggested swapping Qi Meng's dress with Sanmei's. Feng Lei initially hesitated but was swayed by Qi Meng's pleas and her use of the term "brother," promising to handle the swap without Sanmei's knowledge to ensure Qi Meng had a perfect wedding. Elsewhere, Mrs. Ke was weeping over Ke Qianyue's uncertain future.
Old Guan offered blunt advice, contrasting his own strict parenting focused on virtue with Mrs. Ke's apparent indulgence, suggesting she was partly to blame for Qianyue's situation. Mrs. Ke leaned on Guan, who spoke about accepting reality. Later, Feng Lei was seen handling Sanmei's wedding dress, remarking that swapping them should be fine as Sanmei wasn't the type to be petty. Liu Xuanming and Sanmei (Ye Zhaonan) opened wedding gifts together.
Among them was a durian and a bottle of "Zhuang Zhuang Wine." Liu Xuanming quickly grabbed the wine, saying it wasn't for Sanmei. Realizing it was for him, Sanmei playfully insisted on feeding it to him, but he refused, saying he didn't need it.
At the same time, Yi Yangjun issued commands to his subordinates to take complete control of Xuanyue City on the wedding night, specifically ordering them to occupy the city gate, control the city tower, infiltrate the inner city, minimize casualties, and under no circumstances harm Sanmei, referencing their goal of achieving an "ideal city."

As she put the dress on, Zhilan felt a needle prick her but dismissed it as insignificant.
She commented on wanting to wear such a beautiful dress again when she remarried. Zhao Jing earnestly vowed to buy her the most beautiful wedding dress in the world with all his money and confessed his willingness to work tirelessly for her, promising to farm, work as a blacksmith, learn cooking to make delicious meals from simple ingredients, and even learn tailoring to make clothes just for her.
