Synopsis
Lin Chen, a descendant of mountain guardians, becomes a guide for Xu Peiyu, a rich heiress, drawn together by a mysterious photograph. Xu Peiyu is plagued by a year-long nightmare—a faceless figure, a screaming snakehead demanding her return—and only a miraculous herb from Tongbo Mountain can save her. Lin Chen insists on accompanying her, aiming to unravel the secret behind his great-grandfather's death in those very mountains. He suspects Xu Peiyu's family is deeply connected to his ancestor's disappearance.
Their journey into the mountains is fraught with danger. Zhang Guihao, the accompanying psychologist, offers seemingly kind support but harbors ulterior motives. Xiang Yunjian, a Taoist priest, issues cryptic warnings about impending danger. As a compass spins, it seems the gears of destiny are turning.
When Xu Peiyu uncovers the truth behind her nightmare in a desperate moment, Lin Chen also discovers his great-grandfather died protecting a national treasure. As the hundred-year-old enmities begin to unravel, a romance blossoms between them amidst their trials of life and death. Yet, they must confront the bloody entanglements of their ancestors—will this legacy become a new burden or the key to their salvation?
