Wang Jian Kui quietly arrived at Liu Yanjun's home. Liu Yanjun, startled by his sudden appearance, was terrified, as Qing Dragon Society members were being hunted city-wide, and she feared implication. Wang Jian Kui insisted that a city-wide uprising was planned for tonight and demanded Liu Yanjun hand over the firearms from her private militia. Liu Yanjun initially refused but complied after Wang Jian Kui threatened her.

Meanwhile, Xiao Ke, carrying two large boxes of valuables, arrived at a dilapidated courtyard. He hid the boxes under a bed. Upon leaving, he encountered government soldiers conducting a search. Without a word, he killed the soldiers and made his escape. Yu Chu and Cao County Magistrate carefully investigated, eventually identifying several Qing Dragon Society properties. As they were about to leave, they were ambushed by Qing Dragon Society members. Yu Chu swiftly defeated them, ensuring their safe departure.

Wen Gou returned to Chong Liming, reporting that a team of soldiers had been found with their throats slit on Yongning Street, their bodies still warm. Chong Liming immediately deduced it was Xiao Ke's work and intended to lead the remaining county office soldiers to apprehend him. However, Mary intervened, expressing fear for her own safety if her protectors were taken away.

She questioned Chong Liming's certainty about Xiao Ke's location, suggesting it might be a diversion to allow an attack on the county office. Chong Liming, swayed by her concerns, instructed Wagner and Can Yan Xin to mobilize the local gentry's private militias for county office protection. Wen Gou and Wagner then headed to Liu Yanjun's residence. There, they discovered arms being transported.

Liu Yanjun, realizing her actions were exposed, ordered her militia to assemble, but Wen Gou and Wagner easily overpowered them. Liu Yanjun confessed that the arms were intended for Xiao Ke and revealed his plan, including the delivery location of Jubao Pavilion at 8 PM that night. Yu Chu returned to the county office with a captured Qing Dragon Society member.

Chong Liming considered sending teams to investigate the other four identified Qing Dragon Society properties, but realized they were short-handed. Yu Chu tasked Wagner with extracting Xiao Ke's hiding place from the stubborn captive. Wagner, employing a grim display, showed the captive dissection tools, emphasizing that pain was not directly related to wound size and that he had many other methods. The terrified captive eventually revealed Jubao Pavilion as a hideout.

This information, combined with Liu Yanjun's arms delivery also being destined for Jubao Pavilion, confirmed Yu Chu's suspicion that Xiao Ke was indeed hiding there. Chong Liming was wary of a direct assault on Jubao Pavilion, concerned about the safety of A Yi and Zhou Jue.

Yu Chu presented a map of the pavilion, analyzing its layout and deducing that A Yi and the others were likely held in the backyard, which consisted of bungalows, likely used as warehouses or kitchens. Chong Liming devised a plan: Wen Gou would disguise himself as a steward from the Liu family and accompany Liu Yanjun to deliver the weapons. Simultaneously, Yu Chu and Si San would seize the opportunity to sneak in and rescue the hostages.

Chong Liming vowed to capture Xiao Ke personally this time, making the signal for the general attack a warning shot once the hostages were safe. Liu Yanjun, under duress, personally escorted the arms carriage to Jubao Pavilion, with Wen Gou, cleverly disguised as a steward, accompanying him. Wagner and Can Yan Xin, positioned on the rooftop, were prepared to coordinate the operation. Inside, Xiao Ke had made his own meticulous arrangements.

Concerned that Fang Er might interfere, he had tied her up. Fang Er, trying to reason with him, promised to elope with him if he would just release her. However, Xiao Ke was hesitant and gagged her as well, promising to free her only after his mission was complete.

He expressed his long-held resentment over their impoverished and bullied past, justifying his actions as a means to achieve a life of dignity and repay those who had wronged them a thousandfold. As Liu Yanjun and Wen Gou knocked on the door of Jubao Pavilion, Yu Chu and Chong Liming seized the moment to scale the wall and enter. Wang Jian Kui and his men began carrying the weapon crates inside.

From the rooftop, Wagner and Can Yan Xin kept watch. Yu Chu and Si San expertly bypassed the guards, reaching the backyard where they swiftly incapacitated the remaining sentries and liberated A Yi, Zhou Jue, Yang Ming, and Big silly. As they were making their escape, one of the guards regained consciousness and swung a bench at Si San. A Yi heroically intervened, taking the blow to his head and falling unconscious.

Yu Chu instructed Big silly to immediately take A Yi back to the county office for medical attention. Meanwhile, Chong Liming located Xiao Ke's hiding place within the pavilion, and a fierce hand-to-hand combat ensued between the two. Yu Chu, after returning Yang Ming's pistol, fired a warning shot into the air, signaling the waiting government troops. The outside forces immediately stormed Jubao Pavilion, engaging the Qing Dragon Society members in a chaotic battle.

Wang Jian Kui and his men joined the fray, but amidst the confusion, Xiao Ke managed to slip away. Government troops quickly surrounded Wang Jian Kui and the remaining Qing Dragon Society members. Discovering Xiao Ke had vanished, Chong Liming began to press Wang Jian Kui for his whereabouts. Having escaped, Xiao Ke immediately sought out He Peng and Dong Zi.

He informed them that the operation needed to be moved up because Jubao Pavilion had been raided by Qing soldiers, resulting in casualties and his narrow escape. He instructed them to gather all railway workers to rendezvous at the county office gate at 10 PM tonight, instead of the railway company, and to inform Zhang Jie. A Yi slowly regained consciousness, finding Big silly faithfully at his side, who was worried A Yi might try to confront Xiao Ke.

Wagner and Yu Chu arrived shortly after, confirming A Yi's injuries were minor, likely just a concussion, and required rest. A Yi commented on how familiar Yang Ming seemed, despite being unable to recall where he had seen him before, and asked Yu Chu about him. Yu Chu, stammering, deliberately avoided revealing Yang Ming was their biological father and quickly changed the subject, inquiring about Zhou Jue's whereabouts.

Separately, Chong Liming found Fang Er and urged her to disclose Xiao Ke's location, but she repeatedly claimed ignorance, leaving Chong Liming increasingly anxious. Zhou Jue arrived at the Railway Rights Protection Alliance, where He Peng and other workers were preparing to march on the county office. Zhou Jue, accompanied by Yang Ming, intervened to stop them.

He attempted to explain the gravity of the situation, revealing that the Hubei New Army was imminently approaching Nanan city and exposing Xiao Ke's true motive to use their uprising as a pretense for the New Army to suppress them. He Peng, however, inflamed the workers against Zhou Jue, calling him a "dog raised by the Qing government."

Yang Ming was forced to fight defensively to protect Zhou Jue, and together they broke through the resisting crowd to find Chong Liming. Xiao Ke located Zhang Jie and other supporters, successfully inciting them to join the attack on the county office at 10 PM, a time that had been accelerated. The crowd, filled with revolutionary fervor, loudly cheered in agreement, and Zhang Jie noted that Sun Jian's group was already in motion.

Soon after, Zhou Jue and Yang Ming reached Chong Liming. Zhou Jue recounted how Xiao Ke had completely manipulated the worker representatives, who were now planning to attack the county office. He informed Chong Liming that the uprising was indeed moved up. Chong Liming immediately ordered Yu Chu to gather troops to defend the main gate, emphasizing the critical need to avoid escalating the conflict with the populace.
