Li Caiwei and Lanxin were hidden, observing Shen Huaibi's every move. They both saw someone leaving the room but weren't sure if it was Shen Huaibi. So, Li Caiwei secretly followed to investigate.
Guo An assisted Prince Shen Huaijin in trying on his wedding attire. He mentioned to Prince Shen Huaijin that Miss Caiwei had been acting strangely these days, often watching Shen Huaibi. Prince Shen Huaijin pondered upon hearing this.
Li Caiwei went to the garden and, after looking around without seeing anything unusual, suddenly a figure appeared behind her, wielding a knife and lunging towards her. Fortunately, Li Caiwei was prepared and swiftly dodged the attack. When she turned around, she was shocked to see that the assailant was actually the steward, Fan.
Fan lunged at Li Caiwei again, but thanks to the timely arrival of Shen Huaijin and Guo An, Guo An threatened Fan with a sword, pressing him to confess everything. However, Fan was resolute and, taking advantage of the situation, grabbed Guo An's sword and slashed his own neck, ending his life. Li Caiwei's arm was injured during the struggle, and Shen Huaijin helped her bandage it. Li Caiwei couldn't understand why Fan had tried to kill her.
Shen Huaijin advised her to rest and assured her that he would investigate and handle the matter himself. At that moment, Shen Huaibi and Liu Jingshu arrived. Shen Huaibi spoke first, revealing that he wasn't actually the queen's biological son. He explained that when the queen was pregnant and gave birth, she had a stillborn child. So, she arranged to bring Fan's son, who was Shen Huaibi, to the palace. Liu Jingshu continued, saying that she had been expelled from the palace, harboring resentment, and had coerced Fan to harm Shen Huaijin in secret because Li Caiwei was too cautious. Therefore, they decided to eliminate Li Caiwei first. Shen Huaibi confirmed the facts and expressed the need to rectify the situation. Shen Huaijin stated that he would follow his father's principles and that Shen Huaibi was not involved in this matter.
