Believe in Love Episode 12 Recap
> Believe in Love Recap
Troubled, Hua Yinan gazed at Lu Yue'er sleeping beside him, recalling his sister Hua Yuman's grave words. Hua Yuman had confronted him, revealing her long-held suspicion that Yun Wanxi had a daughter the same age as Lu Yue'er. Hua Yinan confirmed that Lu Yue'er was indeed Yun Wanxi's daughter.
Hua Yuman, furious, questioned why he married the daughter of the woman who had caused their mother so much suffering and even put her in charge of the Island Lord's Mansion finances. Hua Yinan insisted that Lu Yue'er was now his wife and part of the Hua family, urging his sister to treat her normally.
Hua Yuman rejected this, reminding him of their mother's tragic fate due to Yun Wanxi's involvement with their parents' marriage, which left their mother depressed and ultimately led to her death. Hua Yinan acknowledged Yun Wanxi's role in their mother's misery but argued that Lu Yue'er had no connection to it. Hua Yuman, however, declared that Lu Yue'er, as Yun Wanxi's daughter, could not marry into the Hua family and demanded he divorce her.
Hua Yinan refused, leading Hua Yuman to threaten that she would make Lu Yue'er's life unbearable if he didn't comply. Hua Yinan vowed inwardly that he would not lose Lu Yue'er again. The next day, after Lu Yue'er was called away by Hua Yuman, Hua Yinan, growing anxious, rushed to Hua Yuman's room. She taunted him about his unusual display of agitation, stating that Lu Yue'er was merely in the kitchen making him pear juice.
Hua Yinan demanded to know what she had said to Lu Yue'er. Hua Yuman replied that she hadn't revealed anything yet but might in the future. She explained her determination to prevent him from repeating their father's mistakes and presented him with an ultimatum: either he convinces Lu Yue'er to sign a property transfer agreement, in which case Hua Yuman would keep silent about the marriage fraud, or she would expose the truth to Lu Yue'er, leading to their separation.
Hua Yinan reluctantly agreed to the former, making Hua Yuman promise not to reveal anything about the marriage fraud or Yun Wanxi. Hua Yuman accepted his terms, secretly planning that once the agreement was signed, she would still ensure their divorce. Meanwhile, Song Yan learned from his investigation that Princess Jia Ning, wife of Hua Jianshan, was the culprit behind his mother Consort Ning's poisoning, intensifying his resentment.
Princess Qingyao came to visit Song Yan, only to be coldly dismissed by him, telling her to go home as he had work. When she expressed her affection for him and mentioned the bracelet he had given her, Song Yan bluntly stated that she was merely a princess to him and that he had only used her to get information about his mother.
Heartbroken, Princess Qingyao asked if the girl he truly liked, the one in a painting, was named Xiao Man, before throwing the bracelet he had given her to the ground. The annual Spring Outing Day, a grand festival where men express love by giving Spring Outing bracelets, arrived. Many women proudly displayed their bracelets, but Lu Yue'er, having not received one from Hua Yinan, felt annoyed, lamenting Hua Yinan's forgetfulness of such an important day.
Steward Dou, after failing to give his bracelet to Lu Yuzhen, tried to offer one to Su Tang, making a snide comment about her long wait for a bracelet from her love interest. He then approached Lu Yue'er. Oblivious to her annoyance and heedless of her warnings, Steward Dou continued to harass her, claiming he wanted to be her man and care for her, despite her past relationships. Just then, Hua Yinan appeared.
Enraged by Steward Dou's disrespectful behavior towards Lu Yue'er, Hua Yinan had him flogged thirty times. He then pulled Lu Yue'er away, leaving the other staff to gossip about him abandoning his wife for Lu Yue'er. Su Tang sat alone, reflecting on her disappointment with Spring Outing Day, while Du Ruo, who found the festival boring and a mere commercial venture, approached her. He noticed her solitude and, despite claiming many girls were pursuing him, expressed his disinterest in them.
Su Tang's spirits lifted slightly upon seeing the wish lanterns, which she admitted were her favorite part of the festival. She confessed that despite wishing every year to marry the Island Lord, her wishes remained unfulfilled. Seeing her sadness, Du Ruo offered to show her other fun aspects of the Spring Outing Day beyond just wish lanterns. They then joined the bustling festival.
Du Ruo and Su Tang were quickly mistaken for a couple by a sugar figure vendor, a notion Su Tang swiftly denied. However, Du Ruo held her hand firmly and didn't let go. He then placed a Spring Outing bracelet on her wrist, claiming he only did so to prevent her from being embarrassed by not having one and causing him trouble.
Despite this, Su Tang, considering Du Ruo a viable partner, proposed they forget their past misfortunes and start a new romantic life with a pinky promise. Du Ruo hesitated but eventually joined her in the promise, only to immediately declare that he would seek out the most beautiful and extraordinary girl on the island, infuriating Su Tang, who then walked away in a huff. Hua Yinan and Lu Yue'er arrived at the Spring Outing Festival.
Lu Yue'er dismissed concerns about gossip. Hua Yinan expressed his desire for her to accompany him to the festival every year, which she readily agreed to, without realizing his deeper concern for her well-being. Attracted by a stall selling "wish bamboo" where couples could write wishes and sign their names for them to come true, Lu Yue'er eagerly suggested they participate. Hua Yinan, remembering Hua Yuman's ultimatum, used this opportunity.
He wrote his message, and after Hua Yinan's chief guard, disguised as the vendor, instructed Lu Yue'er to sign her name next to his, she unknowingly signed the property transfer agreement disguised as a wish paper. Hua Yinan folded the paper and placed it into a bamboo lantern. When Lu Yue'er asked what he wrote, the vendor quickly interjected that wishes shouldn't be revealed.
Later, as they hung their lantern and wished for their written wishes to come true, Hua Yinan felt a pang of guilt. He promised to love Lu Yue'er wholeheartedly, and she, feeling truly content with his affection, reciprocated, leading to a tender kiss.
Alone later, Hua Yinan stared at the signed agreement, lamenting his deception of such a kind and trusting woman but resolving to use the rest of his life to protect and love her, believing this was the only way to keep them together.
