Wan Ge embraced Feng Muchen, expressing her desire for him to stay, while vague figures continued to surface in her fragmented memories. Feng Muchen tenderly reassured her not to force herself to remember and promised to stay by her side, stating that being with her was paramount. Wan Ge, sensing a deeper meaning in his words, questioned if he had stayed in this world solely for her, implying he could have left earlier.

Feng Muchen, after a brief evasion, affirmed his compelling reasons for being there and his strong attachment. Later, Wan Ge received an urgent email from Mr. Jackson, revealing crucial clues regarding her mother, Ye Fengyan's, imprisonment, all hidden within a safe. With the safe's location now known, Wan Ge promptly rallied her companions to head to the rendezvous point.

They arrived at an unassuming shoe repair shop, a location her assistant pointed out, echoing Mr. Jackson's belief that "the most dangerous place is the safest place." An elderly man at the shop recognized Wan Ge, identifying himself as a distant relative on her mother's side who had once given her a pink lion toy. This sparked a faint memory for Wan Ge. The old man then presented a shabby safe, which Feng Muchen initially doubted.

However, Wan Ge's assistant revealed that the password was a stock trading account number, which Wan Ge promptly entered as 9986, leading her to realize that appearances could be deceiving. Meanwhile, news reached someone about the discovery of Ye Fengyan's belongings, with the contents seemingly related to them. Separately, Chen Ye escorted Wanqing home. Her father, Lu Wenyuan, encouraged them to spend quality time together, but once Wanqing left, he pulled Chen Ye aside.

Lu Wenyuan advised Chen Ye to prioritize his career over romance, despite Wanqing now holding significant shares and taking on more business responsibilities. Chen Ye readily agreed, echoing Lu Wenyuan's sentiment that women were merely "stepping stones" on the path to success, and that only career and wealth truly mattered.

Back with Wan Ge, she began to examine the items from the safe, which included her father's ledger from his time as a project manager at Ye's Group, two annuities, and a letter from her mother. Her assistant questioned Wan Ge about her mother's imprisonment. Wan Ge stated that Shen Lingzhu was likely just a pawn and that someone else, possibly Ye Shuyuan, was truly responsible for her mother's fate.

Believing Shen Lingzhu might hold vital information, Wan Ge decided to seek Wanqing's help, confident that she would assist them. Meanwhile, Lu Wenyuan summoned Wan Ge, subtly testing her by offering to entrust her with Ye's Group. Wan Ge, feigning ignorance, praised his contributions to the company and expressed her hesitation to manage it without him, insisting he was still vigorous.

Lu Wenyuan, however, reiterated his aging and her potential to feel constrained by his presence, reminding her of the foundation her grandfather and mother had built. Wan Ge, sensing his sensitivity, attributed it to his age and her recent marriage, promising to visit more often. Wan Ge and Feng Muchen arranged to meet Wanqing. Before they could discuss Shen Lingzhu, they received unsettling news: Shen Lingzhu was missing.

They suspected Ye Shuyuan was behind it, further connecting him to Wan Ge's mother's death, though they were frustrated by locked information they couldn't access. Wanqing arrived, and Wan Ge showed her the ledger. Wanqing quickly identified a supplier's price that seemed suspiciously high, suspecting it was Ye Shuyuan's tactic, though not directly corruption given Ye's Group wasn't listed at the time.

Wanqing was deeply moved to discover one of the annuities was for her, realizing Mrs. Ye had secretly provided for her. A letter from Mrs. Ye requested Wanqing to treat Wan Ge as a sister, acknowledging Wanqing as another victim. Wanqing affirmed that her mother's message was clear: her father, Lu Wenyuan, was responsible for her mother's plight, and had also orchestrated Shen Lingzhu's disappearance.

Wanqing shared that she had rushed to the psychiatric hospital after overhearing Chen Ye and her father's conversation, only to find it too late, with the staff caring for her mother having resigned. They collectively decided against immediately contacting the police, fearing it would provoke Ye Shuyuan to harm Shen Lingzhu. Instead, they opted for a strategic, long-term approach, anticipating Ye Shuyuan's next move to undermine Wanqing's position at Ye's Group.

They agreed to divide tasks: Wan Ge would scrutinize the accounts, and Wanqing would gather more clues. Feng Muchen, worried about Wan Ge's memory, realized that if she didn't regain it before they left this world, she might not recognize him later. With the "ending drawing near," he felt a desperate need to accelerate her memory recovery through strong sensory stimulation. He tried cooking Sichuan cuisine, knowing her fondness for it.

Despite his efforts and adding extra chili, Wan Ge found it not spicy, prompting her to jokingly call him "lame" and remark on his ease as a stay-at-home husband. When she expressed her anger, he playfully asked if she needed comforting, to which she retorted about his "being a kept man and taking it for granted." Later, Feng Muchen asked Wan Ge what she would think if he remained a stay-at-home husband permanently.

Wan Ge, while expressing her love and ability to support him, hoped he wouldn't be confined to domestic trivialities, explaining, "because love changes." She experienced a familiar feeling, as if she had uttered those exact words before. When Feng Muchen asked if she lacked confidence in him, Wan Ge clarified that her lack of confidence extended to everyone, including herself, a sentiment she also felt she had expressed previously.

Unfazed by the lack of success, Feng Muchen, with the help of Yun Yi and Ning Yuan, continued his attempts to restore Wan Ge's memories. They tried "Mental therapy" and "Hypnotherapy," but Wan Ge dismissed these efforts as "insane" and "useless," insisting on working on the accounts. Finally, Feng Muchen, aware of her fear of water, attempted "Spa" therapy. Despite his continuous questions about any returning memories, Wan Ge only responded playfully.

Emerging from the water, she angrily confronted Feng Muchen about his "crazy" methods, reiterating her need to work. Feng Muchen, resolute, stated he had to seize every second and outpace "that woman" in the race against time.
